What does a pharmacist really do? How much pill-counting is involved? Can I have a glass of wine with these antibiotics? "Let Sleeping Pharmacists Lie" is a collection of funny (and 100% true) anecdotes from Pharmacy school and musings on the healthcare sector. From Viagra lovers to paracetamol hagglers, Janelle tells all in this labour of love inspired by her personal encounters. Delve deep into the colourful - and at times, mystifying - world of Pharmacy.
A mixture of autobiography about her time as a pharmacy student and non-fiction about the profession in general. It has a good balance between the funny without being disrespectful to patients/health care staff and the serious/educational. I learnt a lot about pharmacy. However it’s hard for me to give it more than 3 stars because it is just so short and there was not any connection from one story to the next.
This is a delightful and humorous description of the pharmacist's role in the Healthcare system. The author, a recently graduated British pharmacist, describes the many roles and responsibilities of Pharmacists in an entertaining way and shares stories from the pharmacy that I could relate well to, being a pharmacist of 40 years myself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
I have friends who are Pharmacists. I found this book by Janelle Soong not only explained their job better but was highly entertaining. I don't think I'll ever look at my Pharmacist the same again!
Loved this book. A very witty collection of anecdotes that gave a good insight into a pharmacy career... It also helped alot with my personal statement for university, that being the main reason I bought it in the first place. Overall I found it a very funny and enjoyable read!
3.5 stars This book was really informative in discussing the many roles of a pharmacist and it really opened my eyes to what I don't often see. It was also funny.
