A fun-loving cyborg gets serious about love.

Truth lives each moment as though it were his last. The cyborg warrior rushes into danger, teases beings he shouldn’t provoke, accepts every call of adventure he encounters.

When a prissy little human princess floats into the Rebel structure Truth is occupying, seeking a mercenary to assist her and her unusual entourage, he volunteers to be her warrior. She claims their assignment is dangerous, warns him he might not survive the task.

That is exactly the type of fun he has been seeking.

Princess Nanette of the planet Royaume must rescue her estranged brother from an enemy prison ship. That is her duty, and she has been trained to always place the needs of her planet and her subjects before her own. Nancy doesn’t have the freedom to indulge her passions for a certain dark-haired, gray-skinned cyborg. Not permanently and not publicly.

But she is unable to resist the warrior. Truth, with his laughing eyes, smiling lips, and rough hands, tempts her as no one else ever has. He could be her one fleeting act of rebellion before she’s matched with the powerful ruler her planet requires.

If they survive their current mission.

Their love is doomed. Their lifespans are at risk. This cyborg and his princess will need the help of every ally they have if they wish to see another sunrise.

Another steamy cyborg romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🤭😤☺️🥰

The Hero: Truth - he is a D model cyborg warrior and loves battle and danger. When they arrive at a planet called Neriad Negative One, it is decided that Truth and Dissent will be a two-man team that will go down and explore the planet since North’s female is in the last stages of manufacturing their offspring (about to have their baby). Truth is excited because the planet is said to be a haven for outlaws and rebels and they often shoot down Humanoid Alliance ships and shuttles, which is what Truth and Dissent will be piloting, since the cyborgs stole their ships and shuttles from the Humanoid Alliance.

The heroine: Nanette (a.k.a. Nancy) - Princess of the planet Royaume, she was conceived as the spare heir. The crown prince and the prince were sent away from the palace to safety during the war with the Humanoid Alliance. While Nancy stayed with her parents and often played spy in dangerous situations while the Humanoid alliance occupied their planet.

The Story: - Nancy was desperately lonely and had been looking forward to seeing her brothers if only for a moment as the three of them were almost never in the same place at the same time for security reasons. Her cold, aloof parents told her that they recently found out that the younger prince never made it to safety but was taken prisoner by the Humanoid alliance and remains there. They don’t want the crown prince to go after the prince because the crown prince is too valuable to be put in danger.

Nancy is tasked with trying to help her younger brother (the spare to the spare), who is in the enemy prison. She is in need of a mercenary who is up for a possible suicide mission as she knows rescuing the prince is more important that her own safety. She was sure he had endured torture at the hands of the Humanoid Alliance. Though her task wouldn’t be easy, the prison was a vessel two sectors away and Humanoid Alliance prison ships were outfitted with modern weapons and advanced surveillance systems in addition to armed guards within the prison.

The story was a good one and I liked both Truth and Nannette, there were supporting characters which were also very good. The princess’s entourage for example. Everything was so proper at first, from her crown down to her gloves. The princess didn’t even use the word ‘I’ because she had to always think of the greater good and couldn’t be selfish at all.

“Do you always speak of yourself as though you’re another being?” Amusement lilted his voice.
“When one is in public, always.” She sighed. “It’s a verbal reminder that when one speaks, when one makes a decision, one is speaking, is making a decision, for all the beings one is responsible for protecting, for serving.” She drifted closer to him. “What one wants for oneself isn’t important.”

There was quite a bit of action and like the rest of Cynthia Sax’s books, it was quite steamy. I have really liked all her cyborg series so far and I like the world. The Human Alliance makes a great villain in all the books. They pretty much treat everyone from the cyborgs to other humans and humanoids about as bad as they possibly can. So, it is nice to see the characters getting payback against them.

4.5 Stars Rounded to 5-stars because 'Which planet would you like me to rule?'

A cyborg and a princess walk into a bar . . . the premise pretty much sums of this smexy romp through the stars with Truth (the cyborg) and Nanette (the princess). There is some sly 'Disney Princess' homage with the aged retainers to the princess. Who go toe to toe with the baddies along with the warrior princess and killer cyborg. Definitely not G or PG though with Ms. Sax's signature combo of violence and smexy.

Of all the cyborgs, Truth is...err, the joker? He likes keeping things interesting and he'll stir up trouble (in the form of hijinks and mayhem) just to keep from getting bored. He's also probably the most laid-back of the exploration crew. He likes to laugh and he just flat out enjoys life.

Nancy is not as fun-loving. In fact, she's sort of trapped by the expectations of who she needs to be and what she needs to do. She doesn't expect to find happiness or romance and she fully believes her time with Truth will be short lived.

Boy, is she wrong! Because when a cyborg finds his special someone (the one compatible with him out of ALL the beings in the universe), he doesn't let go. Which means Nancy now has a cyborg bodyguard and lifemate and shadow and there's no way he's just going to walk away once their mission is complete.

I like these cyborgs. I like the grumpy ones and the serious ones and the fun-loving ones. They're all down for a little blood and mayhem and they're just FUN in their utter delight at causing chaos to those who want to hurt them. *thumbs up*

This was a good read but I was a little disappointed. Truth has been one of my favorites from the very beginning. I just didn't think this book captured him like I would have hoped.
He's still a lovable goofball but there was just something missing.

Truth is HILARIOUS and Nancy is perfect for him ❤️

I absolutely adore this author and every single book she’s written. They’re fierce, sexy, brutal, sexy, adventurous, and... did I say sexy? Well, they are. This one contained plenty of deaths for Truth and Dissent to increase their kill counts, an emotional sibling reunion, entertaining and chaotic antics, and so much love it required a very skilled cyborg to contain it.

Never a dull moment!
A fun-loving cyborg, a proper royal princess, an impossible task.
I adore Nancy and her crew! They are her ‘true’ family, since her parents fail in that aspect. I love how Truth brings a never before experienced joy of living to Nancy. It extends to her beloved companions, as she freely shows she considers them her parents. Truth and Nancy are the perfect complement for each other.
Join them on their many adventures: you will never regret it!

Great book. Really different from the others. I normally don't go for books about royalty but this one was the exception

Cynthia Sax is one of my go-to authors, buy sight unseen. This story tells of cyborgs. Cyborgs! When he saw her, he was done. She would be his! In space! So good, read on. Love these stories. This one promotes a bit of giggling and a bit of sighing too. 😘

First, let me say that I have loved every book in this series! If you like cyborgs AND romantic comedy, this series is a must-read!

Testing Truth has all the elements you would expect from a book in this series. Comedy, action, romance, and a very strong hero and heroine who complement each other in every way.

With Truth, his princess gets to learn not only that she’s permitted to be happy but her subjects will adore her just as she is. For Princess Nancy, it’s a revelation, even though she gets there rather slowly. Having responsibility drummed into her from birth, it’s not easy for her to think of her own wants and desires over those of her people. I loved seeing the way she interacted with her advisors and how their relationship evolved throughout the book.

I laughed SO much with this story! Even the battle scenes had a dose of humor to them, and some of the love scenes as well. Once I started reading, I just couldn’t stop! I can’t wait to see what happens next in this awesomely amazing series.

It’s taken me two years to read this book. I’ve picked it up and put it down so many times I’ve lost count. I was so anticipating this book for truth but then when I started reading it I was so turned off that I couldn’t tolerate it enough to read it straight through. However I don’t feel like it’s the story or authors fault, not entirely anyway.

I must be a sour puss. I’m not a very happy countenance kind of person. I’m not against it or anything it’s just not my nature. This book had that kind of personality in it. A MMC happy about everything, the sky, the air, the color of anything, literally, EVERYTHING made him happy. To the point that the FMC didn’t know what her ranking was on his love scale because the MMC said he loved everything, all day long everything day.

All I wanted to do was puke!! I couldn’t stomach more than a couple of chapters at a time. If it wasn’t because this plot was so simplistic I wouldn’t have been able to follow the story with how little I could read before waiting months until coming back to it to try again.

As for the plot, while the FMC was better in this one than in the last few stories leading up to this one. Meaning she was intelligent and not a weird ditz, she still talked in circles, “One” this and “One” that, I think it’s fourth person but don’t quote me because it was basically nonsense. Smdh. Then the my princess and my prince was a close second on my annoyance radar that I just started skimming the entire story. I hate doing that!! You aren’t really reading anything if you are skimming it! You are only picking up key points but not the emotions or sinking into the story world if your skimming. Your just surfing the pages.

If you’re that kind of reader then great for you, but I’m not. I want to savor every and, the, and that in any story I read. Every word is important to me and this book had ZERO words I wanted to read. I am so disappointed. I really was looking for to this book and it basically ruined the series and the MMC for me. It was too silly, too lite hearted, too unserious, too frivolous, too uneverything that the cyborg sizzle series was based on. There was no rawness, no struggle, no real passion, nothing!

The only moment of emotional depth was when truth was confronted by the father of a murdered daughter. It was deep and respectful and I tested up for it. Those are the moments I read this cyborg series for. I still cry for gap every time I reread that book.

The rescue operation while funny, was too much of a joke and so downplayed that there really was no point in having this book other than for the main characters to meet each other. The isn’t any bonding either because they both basically bonded instantly and anything else was just book/page filler to waste my time and money.

Again I fully acknowledge that maybe my own hang ups over overly cheery people might have influenced most of my dislike of this book but the plot and lack of real story effort finished off any benefit of the doubt I normally would have given it. This story was wack. Plain and simple. I had been noticing that it was losing its edge with a couple of the prior books but this one planted the burial marker on its grave for me. I don’t know if I will continue with this cyborg universe. I have continued to buy all the books that have followed but I don’t know if I’ll waste anymore of my money. It’s unfortunate. It was so good in the beginning.

I can’t fully express my deep disappointment here. Good luck.

So Much Pink!

Two things. No, three things.

One, Truth brought the fun to this mission. I had fun.

Two, the author must have realized what I did last book. The scenarios needed a little shake up. So now we have a princess and all the pink I mentioned before.

Three, we got interesting combinations of couples this time. Outside of the main couple, we got a three-way, and we got a gay pairing. The gay couple surprised me, and I was already surprised about the three-way. They were older people and clearly very active. Kudos to the author.

I can wish all I want and I know it will not happen, but I would like to see more of the gay couple and possibly how they got together. I know it’s going to be nothing but a tearjerker for almost the entirety of their story for how we found them in this book.

I love how this book opened. It picks up perfectly from the last book and then when it came to the end of this book, they lengthen it out to set you up for the next series. Which I appreciate.

I am looking forward to the next series simply because they have dropped breadcrumbs in almost every single book leading up to this. Can I call them breadcrumbs? They were very much just there if you were in the “right” place.

Oh, I found a novella before I started the next series, so I’m going to read that before getting to that set of books.

So the novella’s name is Holding Hoarse. I’m either unfamiliar with that pairing of words or there was a hint in the book that I missed.

And for such a short story you realize that it would have been a little shorter still if his friend Relay didn’t come along. But at the same time, I’m glad he was included, it helped to change something in their little world.

So yes, a fun little read before diving into something horrible, if you go by the author’s track record.

Later.

4&1\2fabulous 🌟's

I loved Nancy and Truth! This was one adventurous thrill ride with lots of steamy passion and of course action against the humanoid alliance! Truth is the life every moment like it's your very last type of cyborg. He finds the thrill of battle both satisfying and fun and always tries to keep everyone guessing! He's a happy , crazy cyborg and when he meets his mate Nancy there are no rules and if there are he'll break them all just to make her happy. Nancy is a princess the spare to the heir Nd her parents are co!d ruthless begins who would do anything to and I sure the humanoid alliance left their planet alone including sacrificing their own children. Nancy has been a spy against the alliance and now her mother sends her from a a mission she may not return from. Go rescue the brother they gave to the alliance in return for their safety. Nancy loves her brother and accepts her mission..She tough , intelligent but has a soft heart one that needs protecting. When she meets Truth she knows he is hers, but as a royal she can't have him! Or can she? Truth doesn't care about the rules he'll make sure his Nancy is safe, rescued her brother and love her like no one else no matter the sacrifice he has to make! Join these two love starved beings as they find love, laughter, passion and adventure together. As always Cyntha Sax created some terrific secondary characters that you'll love as well. Great read highly recommend💖💖💖💖💖

Series: Cyborg Space Exploration #6
Rating: 3.5 stars

Truth lives each day like it may be his last. When a princess comes into the Rebel structure seeking a mercenary, he jumps at the chance to assist her. Princess Nanette is everything Truth needs in a mate, but their love is doomed from the start.

I really enjoyed this one, which is good since I didn’t like the last one at all. Truth has been the fun and mischievous cyborg from the beginning of the series. He needed a mate who would challenge him and Nancy does that. She is a princess who has never been able to be her true self. But on their rescue mission she learns to be herself and falls more in love with Truth. Truth and Nancy were just an adorable couple whose relationship was doomed from the beginning (but you know it works out in the end).

I loved the theme of adopted family in this book. Nancy’s attendants are her true mother and fathers. Without the constant observations of her people, Nancy can finally show them how much they mean to her and they can reciprocate. This book was just very emotional and heartfelt.

Like I said, I really enjoyed this book. Truth and Nancy were a great couple and they had a great family. I hope they show up in future books.

Truth was a bit of a player. Oh, he loved war and enjoyed teasing but his knew how to play. When he is sent on a mission to Nereid Negative One, he didn’t expect to find his mate. Princess Nanette is in need of a mercenary to help her and her party rescue her little brother. She didn’t expect to find Truth and be totally drawn to him.

You have to love Truth. He is one smooth Cyborg. He lays on the charm and Nanette melts. The fact that her own mother, the queen, sent her on this mission is crazy. I enjoyed Truth’s humor and playfulness. He certainly deserved a mate. And Nanette’s entourage are loyal and loving. We also get to find out about what is happening with the rest of the Reckless crew. There was a surprise at the end that I am sure we will be exploring. I can’t wait to find out about that. Glad to see our cyborgs are finding happiness.

Testing Truth

Truth loved fighting and all kinds of adventures. He was not ready for his Female just yet and wanted more adventures before settling down to a boring life or so he thought. Then he met Princess Nanette/Nancy and he found out that a relationship could be just as exciting as fighting could be.
Princess Nancy was always told that she was disposable because she was a spare to the crown but she wanted so much more in her life. Then she met Truth and her life changed for the better. She just had one thing to do and then she could settle down into her expected life or so she thought.

This book had a lot of humor in it. The ending scene where Truth lets the princess' dresser pick his outfit when he returns to the cyborg homeworld made me laugh so hard.

Note: Ghost, his mate and their baby are the only beings living on Mercury Minor because Ghost is damaged according to Ghost in the Machine (Cyborg Sizzle #7). Yet in Testing Truth (Cyborg Space exploration #6) we find out thousands of beings are living on the planet and the cyborg council doesn't know. I thought I had forgotten this detail so I did a re-read of Ghost.

But if you read Containing Malice (Rebel Cyborgs book 1) you find out why so many people are living in secret on this planet.

Awesome!

As usual our cyborg stories are adventurous and fun, I loved Nancy and Truth. They are do folder and get it done. But they enjoy it and each other alone the way. Cynthia's tales are always a delight to read. She pulls you into their world and you enjoy the ride.

Another fun story with Truth being who he is and his ability to make his mate Nancy smile. She's a great match for him and I enjoyed their successes along the way. Can't wait for Power's mate to turn up and knock some of the arrogance out of him though.
