Overall is was a good continuous, sorta, series. But, way too many filler words to describe intent. Lets just add words to make it a bit longer. Had my head shaking ... Just Why?!?
I attempted the next book and gave up.

After getting captured in the town of Silver Spruce by the dark witch Phaedra Glint, Holly Smart must contend not only with her and her desire to become Queen of all the Earth, but with her army of dark bear shifters and the Lost Souls released from the Underworld -- although she hadn’t seen any of those Lost Souls since the big battle. She didn’t think they were actually gone, she didn’t believe Phaedra had full control over them anymore. She hasn’t seen any humans at all walking down Main Street; only the bears, dark shifters who had given up their very humanity to become fully bear. They made her shiver.

A knock on the door, and Wyatt Ashlock, the leader of the dark shifter army, walked in. He told her the sooner she chose to cooperate, the sooner he could give her freedom and anything else she wanted. Of course she knew what he was asking for. He was the firstborn son of one of the bear shifter clans, one of the firstborn sons she was supposed to heal from dark magic. She was supposed to heal him with love…as in sexual love. She was supposed to decide if he might be the one who would become king over all the shifters with her as his queen. She was going to have to go along with him on this. He was the only one who could get her out of here. He was the only one who might be able to protect her from the witch, Phaedra. And just maybe he WAS the one to be her king. She wouldn’t know if she didn’t give him the opportunity. He confirmed that the other firstborns were not dead. In fact, he suggested that if she didn’t hook up with him, Phaedra will start killing her friends and the other firstborns one by one until she complies. He finally agreed to let her see only one of the firstborns, but not Keller since Phaedra kept him always at her side. Instead of one of her guys, she asked to see Elise!

The maiden prophecy spoke of the king and queen and a child they would bring into the world to unite the shifter clans and bring peace. It also said the maiden could bring dark shifters to peace through love. Phaedra figured this brand of love was really just a euphemism for sex. But Wyatt was drawn to Holly by a visceral attraction and a very real emotional connection beyond explanation. Holly made him doubt himself. Was he something less than the dark bears because he didn’t go full bear? Why did he hold back from going completely dark like they were?

Things continue happening in the story as the tension ratchets up! Grab your copy and see if Holly and Wyatt will begin to “cooperate”. Will she be able to rescue her friends and lovers? What surprise will come at her next? You won’t want to miss this one!

And now Holly has to play nice with Wyatt in order to find out where everyone is because they have all been separated. Even though they might escape how can they defeat Phaedra. She has the Dark shifters, the lost souls, Wyatt, and her magic behind her. Help comes from an unexpected source but Holly might just lose one of her men. This is book number five out of six in this amazing series and I can not wait to read the rest of this amazing series. I loved reading this story to everyone who loves reading about bear shifters, dark and paranormal romances.

This series has taken you on a rollercoaster ride for sure. This is the fifth book and it will have your hooked right from the beginning and hold your attention till the very last page. The story is full of suspense, romance, action, sizzling chemistry. You will enjoy this series.

I tried so hard, I just couldn’t. It felt like a high schooler clinging to a thesaurus searching for any way possible to turn a 3 page essay into ten pages, or in this case, nine books. The spice verbiage is beyond corny, and any antagonism is akin to a cat hissing at a bird through a closed window. I’m pretty good about finishing series but there’s no way I can do 20 more books of this -_-

All the characters are completely useless, their “love” feels artificial and shallow, and in the end the FMC does absolutely nothing of value and someone else swoops in and saves the day. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it was just so so awful. I hate writing negative reviews, but wow was this terrible. I will not be finishing the series.

Just can't stop

The book is not Snow writing instead it is Star. The character don't speak or act the way Snow wrote the first 3 books in the series. The sex scenes are not written the same way as the first 3 books. I will finish the series but I won't continue the Vampire series if Snow isn't writing the books.
