Journey America Trilogy #2

Long Ride to the End of the World: A Lonely Long Rider’s 7,500 km Journey to the Land of Fire

Rate this book
In this second volume in his Journey America trilogy, Filipe shares his fifteen-month adventure riding six horses from Barretos, Brazil, across three more countries, through windswept deserts, frozen mountains, and a scorched Patagonian landscape to Tierra del Fuego, the Land of Fire.
His path from the brave cowboy hero who arrived in Brazil in his book Long Ride Home is now a dark journey inward. Long Ride to the End of the World is a story of heartbreak and family, life and death, pain and love. His heart carries the great sadness of a father who has lost his son. At the same time, there is new hope in the passion he discovers meeting his flor del pago in the middle of the desert. Through it all, everyday heroes provide help and hope as Filipe and his horses complete another impossible odyssey.
“An incredible adventure about Western culture, resiliency, and community spirit.” — Dana Peers, President of the Calgary Stampede, who chose Filipe as the 2020 Parade Marshal.

Filipe’s first book, Long Ride Home , will soon be a major motion picture.
The children of the Barretos Children’s Cancer Hospital (Hospital de Amor) are his inspiration for this journey.

Adventure at its best.

I did read the remarkable first book, and this one is just as interesting and intense with horses, friendship Family, cultural differences and a way at looking at the world . The children in the Bacteria Children's Cancer Hospital and the hospitals mission is the inspiration for this fifteen month long ride , and it's quite the adventure, good read.

If you ever need to be inspired to chase your wildest dreams, no matter what they are or what your interests - this book is it!

The book journals an amazing adventure that goes to the core of the human condition, the magic of chance encounters, and the beauty of the bond between a man and his horses.

To accomplish such a unimaginable goal at such a young age, makes me eager to follow the rest of this young journalists career and see where his inspirations will lead him.

This one took me a little longer to get into than the first but I think that's partly because I was still so invested in the horses, the people and the journey from the first one.
Once I got into it though, I was all in once again.
This journey was a struggle. It was also a struggle to read as I felt sad, cold, anxious and frustrated right along with Filipe. That said, I was once again truly inspired and more than ready for the third installment!

Ride with Passion

This was so fascinating. I have a passion for riding & know how hard it can be. It was so interesting how hard it is to cross state lines , so many unnecessary regulations . My hat is of to Felipe,he has heart and may God bless him & his horses .
