While I thought the crime aspect of this was a little underwhelming, I loved Ike's continual growth and the ever-evolving family and work dynamics. There were a lot of surprises here, and I had a blast reading this book.
(Note that there were a few editing issues - mainly missing words, and 'nodding of heads' when nod implies head movement already. lol)

Sydney & Isaac

This series just gets better and better. I've loved every book I have read by this author and am always left wanting more. Not that the stories are cliff-hangers just fantastic reads.

Isaac is finding it easier to accept his life with special abilities. Finding Sydney has made his life fulfilled. His family isn't easy for him, especially his father, but she totally accepts him and wow, maybe even loves him. Another case makes his family situation even more difficult. One of his brothers is involved--just how deep he has to find out.

Sydney gets some surprises as well. Families mix and work changes. Lots of clues to track down and new people situations for him to adjust to. Are his feelings for her strong enough to overcome his hesitancy to be around people more than absolutely necessary? Will the family revelations split the family or mend it?

Great characters, chemistry, and storyline.

This series keeps getting better and better. I love that in this book we got a lot of questions answered for us. We really got to find out about Ike's past and where his powers came from. We still don't know the full scope of them yet though. Sid is really starting to come out of her shell which is great considering what she went through. Ike's and her relationship is growing real fast. But they already know they were made for each other. The character development was too notch.
I love this book and can't wait to see what happens next.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. The review is of my own opinion.

Omg! I was blown away from the start by this amazing 3rd installment, “Freaks & Family Legacies“ which is the latest fantastic must read from the ‘Touched’ series! I was glued to my seat & didn't want to stop whenever I had to! ... I am so addicted to each of these fresh new storylines with mystery, romance & suspense! Always relatable characters like our H/h, Isaac & Sidney, plus witty dialogue, as I would cheer them on, despite the odds seeming to be stacked against them, but hoping they would still be able to find their HEA! ... Plenty of surprises will keep readers hooked and turning pages like crazy! ... Even tho I always volunteer to read Ms. Collins’ books, it is without any outside influences, so I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction, and many times I buy the Kindle ebooks when I can afford to... Now I can’t wait for more, but I always will wait for this author’s books, even if rather impatiently tho ;) lol

4.5⭐️

This is the continuing saga that delves into the lives of Isaac and Sydney. Rather than move back to California, Sidney buys a home in Cleveland. She and Isaac profess their love for each other, and it’s a beautiful thing. Sidney asks Isaac to move in with her, and he is thrilled about. Meanwhile Isaac seeks help to understand and harness his “psychometric monster”.

A case that Isaac is investigating takes front and center in this third book of the series. Additionally, in this offering, Sidney meets Isaac’s family, but things take an unexpected turn, and secrets are revealed. While this book is not as dramatic or thrilling as the first two books are, it is nonetheless fascinating, and my attention never waned. This time around, the story the focus shifts and gives the reader a more in-depth perusal of the personality traits of Sidney, Isaac, and a host of other secondary characters with whom the couple interact. There are few editing hiccups but they are de minimis.

Some of the questions that I was perplexed about in Book Two are answered in this book, and I’m really glad about that. I think this is such a fantastic series, and this latest book is an excellent addition.

Loving Isaac Taylor and Sydney! Can't get enough of them!

Freaks and Family Legacies is book 3 of Lashell Collins' wonderfully entertaining Isaac Taylor Mysteries. This is not my usual paranormal romance mystery. Psychic abilities are involved but the crime and suspense surrounding it takes precedent over everything. Even the growing romance between Isaac and Sydney takes a back seat to the police detective story.

Isaac Taylor is a very complex character, fighting his inner demons, resisting his psychic gifts has defined him for most of his life. His relationship with Sydney is more than fated soul-mate story, Sydney is key to his psyche and the depth and development of his gifts. Lashell Collins in-depth development of these characters over the course of the series and the use of incremental revelations about their family dynamics effect on Sydney and Issac's personalities, is part of the appeal of these novels. Lashell characterization is so natural, Isaac, Sydney and the numerous support characters are as real as my own family and friends. Lashell Collins talented writing assures that I am more than a reader, I am an active participant in the drama. Reading Freaks and Family Legacies was an immersive experience which involved all my senses.

I love all the twists and turns Lashell weaves into her stories. She demonstrates incredible talent in her ability to create edge - of-your-seat action and suspense throughout the novel. I never wanted this book to end. I wanted to slow down my reading and savor every word, to experience the nuances of her word choices and sentence structure. Yet, the story was so entertaining , so exciting, I could not put it down. "Just one more chapter", became several chapters. Finally, my husband and even the dogs gave up on me coming to bed! Then suddenly, I realized I had finished the book and almost cried knowing it had ended. Until I realized I already owned book 4 and 5 and there would be no delay in jumping back into Isaac and Sydney's lives!

Lashell Collins writing is my new addiction! I can't wait to move on to the next adventure with her! Book 4 of the Isaac Taylor Mysteries, here I come!

I am loving your Isaac Taylor Mysteries Lashell Collins. I have started binge reading this series so I can catch up and be able to start with book 10 in the New Year. I first read book 9 of Isaac Taylor Mysteries and realized that I needed to go to the first book of this series and started reading and I have not regretted it. I have been more and more drawn to this series. It seems every book gives me more and more insight into my couple Isaac Taylor and Sidney Fairchild. I think it would be wise to read from the beginning of this series to really get an idea of who and what Isaac Taylor is all about. In this one we find out about Isaac and the beginnings of his abilities and the legacy he is carrying on. It's like most families when you don't understand something you either make fun of the person or situation or you are fearful of it. I Loved, Loved, did I say I Loved this book. This book I would highly recommend for you to read but I still say you should go the first book in this series like I did and start reading this series; you will not be disappointed. I was going to hit highlights in this book, but I say that once you start reading you won't want to put it down.

Freaks and Family Legacies is the 3rd book in the series and as usual the author has blown me away with a captivating story. Isaac and Sidney although have only known each other for a short time where it is getting serious. And what does get serious mean, you introduce the new partner to your family! The characters are dynamic, lively and authentic. The tension between Isaac and his brother was palpable and believable. Isaac is still coming to terms with his abilities and his relationship with his father.

The story pace is fast-paced and filled with suspense. There were no moments of dragging in the story, it was also action-packed. I was not surprised with the revelation that the psychic skills did not just turn up in random in Isaac. I was surprised at the lengths Isaac’s father went to hide their family history. The author aptly described the family turmoil as hidden truths come to light and so many holes of understanding were explained. Overall, great read for anyone who loves romance and suspense with a pinch of the paranormal.

I wasn't crazy about the first book in this series. The hero was a mess and there were too many coincidences and I wasn't here for a domestic violence subplot with the heroine and her ex.

But this is a series and this writer tends to write some interesting family dynamics. So I decided to skip the second book right to this one in the hopes the characters had progressed to healthier places,. And they have. I liked this one better. They've moved past the DV plot, the hero has come to grips with his gifts a bit better. He isn't as tortured. They are together and are growing.

This one features a rather straight forward police procedural with the homicide cops solving a murder. But the best part and like I said the reason I like this author is the family dynamic. SOme really positive and interesting moves with the hero and his family.

Makes me want to pick up the next one.

Lashell Collins continues to hook me at a wonderful, molecular level with this INCREDIBLE series.
This third installment of Isaac and Sidney's story is more of the gorgeously braided suspense and romance I've come to expect and adore from this writer. I love how real Ike and Sid feel as they start to navigate life as a couple. While there is PLENTY of a paranormal suspense story to keep a reader turning pages long (LONG) into the night, there is also a beautiful touch of all the things that normal people deal with after the "three magic words" are spoken.
I especially loved the expansion of family dynamics in this book, not only from Isaac's tormented point of view in attempting to heal a huge rift from his past. This story more into the hard guts of his partner's family, with conflicts that any surrogate parent can understand and feel.
So good. This series is so, soooo good. I'm so glad there's more to dive into!

Magnificent

Once again this author has pulled out all of the stops and given to us an outstanding, magnificent, page turning and action filled book. This book like the one before is filled with strong but vulnerable characters that you will love. There is supernatural components and compelling desire to see that good conquers evil. The lovemaking is intense, passionate, sizzling hot and off the charts. The writing flowed easily and effortless and will keep you involved throughout the whole book. I am now moving forward to the next book in this series. Well done Ms Collins. Look for my next view of another great book.

WOW, Lashell Collins just keeps getting better and better with this series. The emotions of Ike pull you in as he learns to cope and use his abilities more in his job. Having to deal with flat out distrust and being degraded by some of his family, Ike with the help of Sidney, Ike slowly comes to terms with what he can do.
Looking forward to reading more about Ike and how he develops further as a character.

In Book 3 of the Isaac Taylor Mystery Series, Ike and Sidney are finally able to explore their relationship without having to look over their shoulders....well almost. They are deeply in love and Ike is reveling in the fact that he has found the ONE woman in the world that he can love and touch without pain. Sidney is living a new normal where she doesn't feel like she is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Now that she can freely live her life she is not sure if she wants to return to the world of education or will life take her in another direction. When Ike's most recent case has a family connection we learn more about the secrets his father has kept from him and more about their long simmering tension. The mystery, while interesting, firmly took second place to the family dynamics!
