‘ஒரு நடுப்பகல் மரணம்’ குங்குமத்தில் தொடர்கதையாக வெளி-வந்த ஒரு அக்மார்க் மர்ம கதை. புதுமண ஜோடி ஒன்று ஹனிமூனுக்காக பங்களூர் சென்று ஹோட்டலில் தங்குகிறது. அங்கே கணவன் ஏராளமான கத்திக் குத்துகளுடன் கொலை-யாகிப் போகிறான். அத்தனை வன்முறையுடன் அவன் மீது கோபம் கொண்டவர்கள் யார் என்கிற போலீஸ் விசாரணையில் நான்கு பேர் சந்தேக வளையத்துக்குள் சிக்குகிறார்கள். அலிபை காட்டி விடுபடவும் செய்கிறார்கள். ஆனாலும் கொலையாளி அவர்களுக்குள் ஒருவர்தான் என திட்டவட்டமாக சந்தேகிக்கும் போலீஸ் திக்கித் திணறி இறுதியாக வழக்கில் வெற்றி பெறுகிறது.

About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

தேனிலவுக்கு செல்லும் தம்பதி. கணவன் கொலை செய்யப்படுகிறான்.

கொலை என்றவுடன் கணேஷ், வசந்த்தை எதிர்பார்த்தேன். ஆனால் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் மாதவராவ் தோன்றி ஏமாற்றம் அளிக்கிறார். பல கோணங்களில் விசாரணை நடத்தி இவர்தான் குற்றவாளி என்று ஊர்ஜிதம் செய்கிறார். இன்வேஸ்டிகேஷன் நடக்கும் போதே ஏதோ ஒரு ட்விஸ்ட் இருக்கிறது என்று ஊகம் செய்ய முடிவதுதான் இந்த புத்தகத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய மைனஸ்.

படிப்பது வாத்தியாரின் புத்தகமா அல்லது ராஜேஷ்குமார் நாவலா என்ற சந்தேகம் அப்பப்போ வருவதை தவிர்க்க முடியவில்லை.

An excellently written thriller by Sujatha.
The subject taken is very simple,MURDER in a honeymoon trip. But the way the crime is being investigated is interesting and it drives the reader into a thrilling moment of involving themselves in the investigation. We ourself feel as Inspector Madhav raw as he goes after clue after clue and end up reaching the same starting point. At a moment we would feel the same as Madhav raw felt that the case has been solved and murderer has been spotted. But it is not, as Sujatha gives his master stroke there. (I don't wanna reveal much). With multiple suspects behind a single murder it all depends on the way that the story being told and Sujatha leaves us to thrilling moments of looking into this crime by fitting every suspect inside the angle of evidences and replacing them perfectly often from that frame. A good thriller crime and a recommended one in sujatha's collection.

கடைசி கட்டத்தில் சிறு அவசரம்.

நடுப்பகலில் தேனிலவுக்கு வந்த கணவன் கொலை. கொலையாளியைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கத் துடிக்கும் மனைவி. பலபேர் மீது சந்தேகங்கள். பல தடயங்கள். போலீஸ் அதிகாரியின் துரித விசாரணை. எல்லா ஆதாரங்களும் ஓர் புள்ளி நோக்கிப் போக, புள்ளி காற்புள்ளி ஆகிறது. பின்னர் அது புள்ளி அல்ல, காற்புள்ளி அல்ல 'ஆய்தம்' என்று தெரிகிறது.

முதல் மூன்று அத்தியாங்கள் கல்யாண கலாட்டா, கூட்டுக் குடும்பம், டிரான்சிஸ்டரை காதோடு வைத்துக் கொண்டு கிரிக்கெட் காமென்ட்ரி கேட்பது (கவாஸ்கர், விஸ்வநாத் அவுட்,கிர்மானி தடுமாறின்டிருக்கான், டி ஈ சீனுவாசன் கவாஸ்கரோட சண்டை, ஹேட்லி பவுலிங் போட வந்துட்டான் ………), மாப்பிள்ளை வீட்டார், பெண் வீட்டார், வயதான அத்தை அவர்களுக்குள் நடக்கும் சுகமான சம்பாஷனைகள், பட்டு வேட்டி, மோதிரத்தோடு மாப்பிள்ளை புது மனைவியை சுற்றிக் கொண்டே……..இப்படி முதல் மூன்று அத்தியாயங்கள் சுவாரஸ்யமாகப் பயணித்த கதை நான்காம்அத்தியாயத்தின் இறுதி வாக்கியத்திலிருந்து (“கதவடியில் சின்னதாக ரத்தக்கோடு தெரி்ந்தது”), நாவலின் கடைசிப் பக்கம் வரை வாசகர்களைக் கட்டிப்போடும் என்றால் மிகையில்லை. இறுதியில் டி சி அவரது ரூமில் எல்லா பாத்திரங்களையும் உட்கார வைத்துக் கொண்டு குற்றவாளி யார் என்பதை நிரூபிக்கும் தியரி (denouement) டாப் கிளாஸ்! ஆங்கிலத்தில் அகதா என்றால், தமிழில் சுஜாதா!

A good thriller novel from writer Sujatha.I really like the way he told the story.At the beginning there were four or five suspects then police found a lot of evidences against Rakesh and ended with a sudden twist.Though there weren't much logical errors I don't think it could be done in this way in real.

உமா, மூர்த்தி என்று ஒரு புதுமண தம்பதிகள் திருமணம் செய்த பிறகு தேன்நிலவுக்காக பெங்களூர் செல்கிறார்கள். அங்கே அவள் கணவன் நடுப்பகளில் கொலை செய்ய படுகிறான். ஏன்?? எதற்காக?? மூர்த்தியின் மீது அவ்வளவு வெறுப்பு யாருக்கு இருக்கும்?? ஏன்?? எதற்காக?? யார் செய்தார்கள் என்று போலீசுடன் சேர்ந்து மனைவியும் விசாரிக்கிறாள். அதில் பல நபர்களின் மேல் போலீஸின் விசாரணையில் சந்தேகத்தின் அடிப்படையில் கண்காணிக்க படுகிறார்கள். இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் மாதவராஜ் பல கோணங்களில் விசாரணை நடத்தி இறுதியில் விறுவிறுப்பான கதை எதிர்பாராத திருப்பங்களுடன் யார்? ஏன் இந்த கொலை செய்தார்கள் அதிர்ச்சியுடன் கூறுகிறார் கமிஷனர்.

சுஜாதாவின் நாவல் என்றாலே சிறு கோளாறு இருக்கும். அதே போல் தான் இந்த புத்தகத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பிழை கதை விறுவிறுப்பாக இருந்தாலும் சற்று ஏமாற்றத்துடன் இறுதிக்கதை திருப்பம் யூகிக்க முடிந்தது தான்.

It is a book written by sujatha rangarajan where he really in out of his genre.I exclaimed that is it really his writings?. Because he's a writer who's genre had an extraordinary fantasy and thrillers.But in this novel he wrote a fantastic thriller with twists and turns on it. I imagined myself becoming the character Madhavarav who's the inspector investigated the case of murthi's murder at hotel in Bangalore.The twist after we got a suspect ob that case was really an unexpected moment.And ofcourse I'm surprised sujatha started the novel with an unexpected romantic scenes on it .

A perfect thriller with a mind bending twist at the end! This thriller is fast paced , leaving us with a curiosity till the last page. Four persons are shortlisted as suspects and the plot is centred around these characters . Uma (the protagonist) is an interesting character who constantly tries to uncover the mystery behind her husband's death and to find her husband's killer.

One of the best books written by Sujatha in crime/thriller genre.

ஆரம்பித்த ஒரு சில பக்கத்திலே நடக்கிறது அந்த கொலை. நடுப்பகலில் ஒரு கொலை. அதற்கு காரணமாய் இருக்கும் நான்கு-ஐந்து பேர்களை சுற்றியே நடக்கிறது கதை. கடைசியில் இவன் தான் கொலைகாரன் என்று நாம் எண்ணி ஒரு முடிவுக்கு வரும் போது, கடைசி ரெண்டு அத்தியாயத்தில் எல்லாமே தலைக்கீழ் ஆ��ிறது...
மாதவராவ்,உமா,ராகேஷ் என்றும் மறவாது நிற்பார்கள்.

சுஜாதாவின் 'ஒரு நடுப்பகல் மரணம்' வாசகரை இருக்கை நுனியில் அமர வைக்கும் ஒரு த்ரில்லர் நாவல். எதிர்பாராத திருப்பங்களும், நுட்பமான துப்பறியும் பாணியும், நகரின் பரபரப்பான பின்னணியும் இக்கதையின் பலம். ஒரு மர்ம முடிச்சைக் கச்சிதமாக அவிழ்க்கும் சுஜாதாவின் கைவண்ணம் இதில் முழுமையாகத் தெரியும். ஒரே மூச்சில் படித்து முடிக்கத் தூண்டும் நூல்!

கணேஷ்-வசந்த் கதை என்று நினைத்துத் தான் இந்த புதினத்தை வாசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். ஆனால் இது அவர்கள் பாகமாகும் கதை அல்ல. துப்பறியும் கதைக்கே உண்டான வேகத்தோடு இந்த கதை நகர்கிறது. காவல்துறை விசாரணை நடத்தும் விதம் நன்றாகவே காட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இடையில் மரணத்திற்குப் பிறகு வீட்டில் சம்பவங்களை அழகாகச் சொல்லப் பட்டிருக்கிறது. சென்னை மற்றும் பெங்களூரில் இந்த கதை அரங்கேறுகிறது. சுஜாதாவிற்குப் பழக்கப்பட்ட இடம் பெங்களூர் என்பதால் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். அவ்வளவு தத்ரூபமாக நம் கண் முன்னாள் அங்குள்ள இடங்களைக் கொண்டு வருகிறார். துப்பறியும் கதை என்பதால் அதிகமான கதாபாத்திரங்கள் இருந்தன என்றாலும் வாசகன் சந்தேகத்தை ஒருவர் பக்கம் திருப்பும் தருணங்கள் நிறையவே இருந்தது. என்றாலும் அதில் சிலது வேண்டும் என்றே திணிக்கப்பட்டது போல் தோன்றியது. முக்கிய பாத்திரங்களின் பாகங்கள் ஆழத்தோடு எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
மொத்தத்தில் வேகமாக வாசிக்க முடிந்த ஒரு விறுவிறுப்பான கதை. ஒரு திரைப்படம் பார்க்கும் அன்பவத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறது.

A VERY GOOD THRILLER WITH AN AGATHA CHRISTIE TYP OF CLIMAX,WHERE THE CHIEF INVESTIGATOR AND ALL THE PRIME SUSPECTS HELD IN ONE PLACE. SUJATHA SURPRISES YOU BY TAKING THE STORY LINE IN A DIFFERENT WAY WHERE WE SUSPECT "MAYA" AND ENDS THE STORY IN A SURPRISE WAY.

Good crime investigation story

Edge of the seat thriller. Hats off to writer sujatha. Must read for those who like who done it kind of novels.
