Many thanks to Dawn Hill Publications and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

Kyra Radcliff is successful in using beyond the belief circumstances in the most unforeseen ways and create a complex story of accepting love.

The Italian Billionaire’s Kidnapped Mistress has Victoria Parsons succumbing to one moment of madness that alters her life drastically. Kidnapped and isolated in an island, Tori’s all efforts to dodge and shun the high-handed arrogant fashion tycoon Alfonso Marchese proves ineffectual. His smouldering good looks and innate kindness crumbles Tori’s defences and in spite of the derogatory insults levelled at her, all-consuming fire burns bright.

Misunderstandings and avoidance of truth provides the angst for the story but there’s a lot of overbearing attitude and manipulations used by Gabriella, Alfonso’s siter to get the two love birds together.

This story provides entertainment. The locations are exquisite so much that I wanna visit Italy, the sex scenes hot and steamy but do not expect anything earth shattering as half the time in spite of Tori standing up for herself with dignity, Alfonso keeps taunting her about being a whore and gold-digger. The romance is great simply coz the characters make it so.

A quick read and fun contemporary romance.

Is it just me or did this book give anyone else whiplash???? I’m sorry to say this book was NOT good for me. I seriously considered DNF’ing it but I was past the 40% mark (and Jenny Jo doesn’t allow me to DNF past that point. You just have to suck it up and finish).

Alfonso is a complete Asshole! He always thought the worst of Tori. He called her names and accused her of terrible things throughout the book. I would have kicked his arrogant ass to the curb.

I feel like the author was going for a bit of a modern day Pride and Prejudice story but this missed the mark by a bunch. Mr. Darcy INSINUATED his beliefs of Elizabeth’s ill intentions and he was rude but Alfonso pretty much out and out called her a whore and he did most certainly say she was a gold-digger. His verbal abuse and poor behavior negated any and all romance that might have been in this book.

I have received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Italian Billionaire's Kidnapped Mistress is my third book by author Kyra Radcliff. While looking at the title, I was initially intrigued and excited to dive into it. However, after meeting Alfonso and Tori.. I'm not exactly sure how I feel. Yeah, they had their moments and things were hot and heavy between them. I think it was just the whole hot and cold roller coaster ride that was throwing me off.

That being said the romance was, I guess, realistic. In a way, couples do tend to go through the hot and cold phase while in a relationship. I just don't think I liked how quick Alfonso was when it came to assuming things about Tori. There's only so many times a girl can handle being called a gold digger and be okay with it.

In the end, things worked out for them and they get to live in freaking Italy. Beyond jealous but glad that I got to take a chance on this book.

Where do I start. It was a great story, but I got lost in the emotional turmoil Alfonso and Tori created for themselves by constantly beating around the bush about how they felt. For god sake, just spit it out.

Thank you to the publishing house for giving me a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Listen y'all, this book ain't it!

description

I had so many issues with this book, so let's get started, shall we?

First off, the book started off with the reality be damned attitude. Like, I know that it's fiction and all but the whole hero kidnapping the heroine was a little too out there. No matter how Alfonso tried to justify it, that move makes no sense. Especially not after Tori had informed him of her intentions.
Secondly, why he got to be an a**hole, dude? Like what got your panties in a twist? Alfonso was not a redeemable character, in my opinion. He was too quick to assume, too slow to listen and a massive egoist. I don't know what made the author think that this might be a good character for an MC, but I am here to say, yep, that's a no. The whole hot and cold between him and Tori and the name calling got too old, too quick. He got on my nerves more often that not and fo someone who is so against Tori, he was quick to sleep with her. Dude's a d**k and that's that.
Let's move on to Miss Tori Parsons. Doormat, max. Woman, what made Alfonso the slightest bit attractive to you? Was it the misogynism? Was it the slut-shaming? Was it the kidnapping or the derogation? Stockholm Syndrome, much? What in the world was it that made you fall for him in a matter of days? Enough to tolerate his jabs about your character and revisit the island with him again? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this book is also instalove. To add to that, most of Tori's decisions made no sense in the second half of the book. Like, why did you ask him for money? Why did you go back to Isola Marchese? Why did you trash the credit letter? And most of all, why did you marry Alfonso in the end?
The plot lost steam, real quick for me. Even the smut became repetitive. At times, the descriptive sex wasn't even warranted, to be honest. The thing is, I'm not opposed to hot and cold relationships. they are certainly a relationship dynamic, but when it's done badly, it gets annoying. The side characters were blah too, especially Cesare. Like, dude, what was your role, really? And why is Alfonso, the big, bad senseless wolf?
The book became a long drawn out affair for me, because I despised the MCs. It's 2020, authors. Bitchy bosses and no-personality, spineless heroines are a thing of the past. Add instalove to the mix and it's a huge no.
Finally, let's get down to the writing. Much like my previous read from Kyra, this book was all tell and no show. It's no fun when I don't get to vicariously experience and imagine the narration. Th shift in POVs were slightly vague too and I don't know why, but there was a highly inadequate description of the physical characteristics of the MCs and the sides. It bummed me out and in my opinion, it's fundamental. Also, the same issue of dialogues within '' and not "" was another bummer for me. There are so many things that the author can improve when it comes to her writing, plot and character development. Sticking to the basics of player hero, innocent heroine doesn't cut it anymore.

This whole book was forgettable and an almost painful read. It's a no from me!

It is unnerving but not unexpected that modern-day erotica is becoming mainstream. It started with Fifty Shades of Grey, continued with 365 Days which topped the Netflix chart as most-watched movie for weeks at length and so I decided to read some new adult romances to understand what the obsession is about.

The closest thing to 365 Days is The Italian Billionaire's Kidnapped mistress by Kyra Radcliffe.
The book is a classic case of modern romances with a macho-man being all dominant. He is equal parts sexy and equal parts scary and quite stubborn. Tori, much like, Laura in 365 days is dealing with a finance who broke her heart and is now set to marry another women. The similarity is not in the personality of the characters but more in the vulnerability.

The book did become quite heartwarming in places but some of the chapters were just there for igniting fire. The billionaire factor is another thing that is common to many modern-day romances but I guess, nothing else would justify someone whisking away another person to a remote island/paradise. The book is actually quite a pleasure to read in real terms of meaning, if you are looking for a mindless read to just relax. Another thing is that a common misconception is that fictional romances set high standards of real life love. But these new adult novels are so unrealistic with their storylines that the only real factor is the chemistry between the two protagonists. Which is what the entire appeal is about. And it takes a lot of effort on part of the author to make the chemistry seem so effortless. It was quite a fun read that way.

The Italian Billionaire's Kidnapped Mistress is a story full of romance that will warm your hearts and at the same time will manage to give shape to your most forbidden fantasies.

It is a classic romance novel, of those to be read by those who like stories of redemption and happy ending. On the other hand, as it progresses a little, everything becomes clearer and becomes a simpler and more uncomplicated plot, with quite a few short and addictive chapters. Some parts are slightly verbose, but overall the story is exciting.

The result of the author's effort is a discreet book that is pleasant to read, suitable for summer reading, undemanding and quick to read. If you want to catch your breath after a demanding book or if you just want to spend some time without worries in the company of beautiful destinations, then it's right for you.

Just going straight to what I thought.
It was not belivieavle in the slightest. Stalkhome syndrome and drawn to power and money all the way. Lust at first sight not love. It got better towards the end but still not something that can happen in real life. That is what I love about reading. Stories that are made up but could happen to anyone at any moment. I think the company needs a new theme. Stay away from billionaires, falling in love to fast, and story lines that are to far fetched.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Dawn Hill Publishing. I will start by saying this is not at all the type of book I usually read. I believe I have not read a book like this before. It did take me awhile to finish it, not because I was bored but because I had school starting and other personal things to take care of and I just lost track of time. This book turned out better than I thought it would in the beginning. The locations in the book are described with such detail that it felt like I was actually there. There seems to be a lot of chemistry between the two main characters and I found myself almost wanting to be Victoria in a way. The part that got to me was how mean and rude Alphonso was to Victoria throughout most of the book and then apologizing and then doing it all over again. That seemed pretty abusive to me. With that being said, I am happy that they talked things through and explained everything and were able to end up happily together. Both characters deserve a happy ending. Thank you Dawn Hill Publishing for bringing my attention to a genre I don’t normally read.

What's an overprotective big brother to do when he thinks a gold digger is out to sabotage his sister’s wedding? For Alfonso the decision is easy, kidnap her and take her to his private island.

Tori thought she was doing her former fiancé a favor by going to stop his wedding, But after witnessing a private moment between him and his bride to be, she realizes how wrong she is.

Before she can sneak away and leave without anyone being the wiser she's confronted by the bride’s brother who won't let her explain why she’s there and that she’s changed her mind. He puts her into his limo and onto a plane. Once on his island, sparks fly and both find themselves fighting their attraction, insults are hurled and hurtful words spoken.

Once free from each other both must come to terms with their time on the island and the actions that lead them there.

Kyra has done a great job making the characters believable. The locations are well described and the plot well planned, you'll find yourself going through all the emotions with Alfonso and Victoria.

Let's play a game. Pick the true statement.

A) Main character is kidnapped and makes out with her captor in the getaway vehicle because he is just so dreamy.
B) Main character becomes best friends with the woman that married her ex-fiance after he left her on the altar.
C) Main character learns fluent Italian in 2 weeks so she can communicate with everyone on his private island.
D) Captor tells main character he loves her despite the circumstances (him kidnapping her).

Answer: they're all true. 🙄

This was a quick read and I found it to be mostly enjoyable once I got over how totally unbelievable the story was-- think 365 Days (basically the same plot). After a few eye rolls, I quickly flew through the pages and I appreciated the writing style. 3.5 stats, rated up to 4. Overall, I thought it was good. I received this book from Dawn Hill Publications in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book by Kyra Radcliffe. Tori was left at the alter with no explanation. When she finds out her fiancé is getting married only weeks after she decides to crash the wedding to save him. The bride’s big brother, Alfonso, isn’t going to let anyone ruin his sister’s big day so he kidnaps Tori to his family’s island. They have great chemistry but he makes no bones about the fact that he thinks she is a gold digger. They go their separate ways only to continually end up seeing each other. They fight falling in love with each other but in the end they lose the battle and admit to each other how much they want to be together.

DNF Made it to 40% and had to stop.

The hero kidnaps her, seduces her and then makes her feel like garbage. It was also really poorly written- which i would have been ok with if the hero hadn't been so rape-y. This book should come with a trigger warning because no one who has experienced any kind of trauma should have to relive it in the form of this book.

They spelled colour the Canadian way though, which i liked. So, hooray for that.

4 stars though I was contemplating 5 stars at one point

Omg, it was so entertaining. The whole plot point of Alfonso kidnapping Victoria, aka Tori, and taking her to his private island could have been ridiculous (because it wasn't the most logical thing to do), but luckily, Kyra steered clear so it worked.

There were other slightly ridiculous moments in the book--mainly just things that people said--that really amused me & made me enjoy the story more.

Gabriella reminded me SO much of the Italian Juliana Fiori from the Love by Number series by Sarah MacLean. Gabriella was my favorite character in this book; I liked her better than Alfonso. She was kinda a character & just very spirited and entertaining.

I really enjoyed this book & highly recommend it!!!

P.S. It kinda is harlequin style, but it didn't read like one. I tagged it that anyways :)

Thank you Down Hill Publications for reaching out about reviewing this book! Here is my honest review:

This books was not it.

Some of the things that didn't work for me:
1. The way it was written. It was like the author tried to hard to make it sound "sophisticated" that it was just annoying to read. The writing style alone was enough to make me want to DNF after the first few chapters. It just pulled you out of the story and didn't keep you invested. I just read like the author went through the book with a thesaurus to make it read more "mature" but was really just difficult to read.
2. The "relationship" (if you could even call it that) was just too toxic. How am I supposed to believe that he fell in love with her when he was so rude and called her a gold digger and time they spoke? How am I supposed to believe that she loves him when he kidnapped her and made her want to cry every time they spoke? It was just lust -- not love. If you count all the time they actually spent together by the end of the book, I think it was less than 2 weeks so I don't know how they got the he ending that they did.
3. Pacing. It was a short book that felt like the ending was rushed but the middle dragged on. I'm not even sure how that makes since but thats how it felt.

I get what this book was trying to do but it just missed the mark. I think there are other books out there that do the enemies-to-lovers way better and with more developed characters and relationships. I think they tried too hard to do the whole 365 Day's trope and it just fell flat.

Convoluted Plot

Dawn Hill Publications messaged me on goodreads about this book, asking if I’d like a free copy but since it’s on KU, I told them I’d borrow it and give it a read. I did make sure to read the sample and thought it was something I’d enjoy but unfortunately that was not the case. For a book with only 10 chapters, I felt like this took me eons to get through and as I read, the plot line got more and more ridiculous until I gave up at the 78% mark.

Tori was recently stood up on her wedding day and finds out that her ex is getting married in Italy and decides to stop the wedding. Unfortunately, the bride’s brother, Alfonso, recognizes her and decides kidnapping her is the solution to keeping the wedding from going off the rails. He takes her to his own private island that is only accessible by plane and keeps her in his house. He has all these preconceived notions about her such as she’s a gold digger, sleeps around, lies etc and he treats her like absolute garbage. He growls A LOT! Somehow though, after 3 days and lots of sex, Tori falls madly in love with him but much to her dismay, he flies her home. The rest of the book is a confusing jumble of crazy plans set in motion to get Alfonso and Tori together by his sister while he still treats Tori like trash. I couldn’t take all the craziness and quit reading.

My problem with this book is that I hated the hero and the heroine. Alfonso was a jerk the ENTIRE book. Even reading from his perspective didn’t help change the way I perceived him. Tori on the other hand was annoying because she “fell in love” with a man who kidnapped her & constantly insulted her within 3 days. She went from being a doormat at times to throwing teary-eyed hissy fits at the drop of a hat. This book was also written quite strange as I felt like at times I was reading something for a school assignment with all the oddly placed unusual words. I love unusual words and I am a geek when it comes to spelling and grammar BUT whatever this writer was trying to do didn’t work for me. I will make visible some of the words I highlighted throughout as an example. This book just isn’t for me.

“Ti bacerò senza senso." When he saw the puzzled look in her eyes, he sat back, reasonably satisfied. "What did you just say?" "Exactly what I implied earlier. If you are not quiet, I will kiss you senseless."

Tori was left at the altar by her famous and billionaire fiance. Now, just some weeks after the event she sees in a magazine that he is about to marry Gabriella Marchese and is convinced that he`s being forced to marry the also famous woman. Aiming to save her former fiance, she decides to fly herself to Italy and stop the wedding. What she wasn't expecting, was the fact that Gabriela`s brother, the hot Alfonso Marchese is capable of doing anything for her sister, including kidnap Tori until he`s sure she is not a threat.

Sounds crazy huh?! And yes, it is a crazy story like all Kyra Radcliff`s books. She has quite an imagination to create unconventional situations and stories. And I love that usually her books are out of my comfort zone - this one was no different.

I am very careful to choose enemies-to-lovers romances to read, because I don't like pushy heroes, so Alfonso really stressed me out sometimes... But I don't think this will be a real problem for fans of all types of enemies-to-lovers books. The heroine was okay and I actually really enjoyed the moments with Gabriella.

That said, the book was a light reading and I finished it super fast.

P.S: LOOK how gorgeous this cover is!! <3

Thank you to DHP who sent this to me for review!
This was very silly... I've never read a kidnapping story (unless maybe you count beauty and the beast retellings?? Voluntary kidnapping? Who really knows). Anyway, I feel kinda bad being so harsh on this novella since it was very short and also sent to me for review, but in all honesty these tropes just really weren't for me. Like I said this was one of the first kidnapping romances I've ever read so it stands to reason that it is not a trope I really like. It's safe to say that this is not something I will be going back to. This was way too silly of a plot line even for something so short. Like maybe if the guy was in the mafia it would be more believable? I think that could be slightly more realistic if the father of the groom used his mafia ways to kidnap her, but he literally just comes up behind her and scoops her up. She isn't held for very long and his scary façade is broken very quickly, but then it sort of makes the kidnapping aspect a moot point. I dunno, I know I'm reading (ha) way too much into it but this just had no life or character or depth to anything. This story is basically all "tell" instead of show, and there's barely any dialogue in the beginning that helps us get a handle on the characters. It's just all an info dump of how lovelorn Tori is and the dumb decision she makes to stop her ex's wedding.... Even though she realizes her mistake I still didn't think she was worth reading about.... Not to mention!! The sex scenes were skimmable and bland.... I thought I would end up disliking the kidnapping part the most, but in the end, that was kinda the most aciton you're gonna get out of this.

Couldn’t put it down

Tory was left at the altar by her fiancé without, so much, as a text message...
Now, weeks later she finds out he’s set to marry another woman. Convincing herself that someone is making him marry against his will, Tory sets up to prevent the marriage to take place and help the man she was supposed to marry just weeks after. If she’s doing it to help her ex or to get revenge on him, Tori won’t know... but her plan falls to the ground when Alfonso, the brides brother, sees her and kidnaps her to a paradise island (to prevent Tori, from ruining his sister wedding).

First all, Alfonso is a little over the top, a little to much of a brute, but it kinda works for me.
Tori’s and Alfonso’s romance is an unconventional one. Both of them being stubborn and quiet blind to the other party’s feelings. But that’s also what makes this book so good!

Alfonso thinks Tori is a gold digger. Tho he’s obviously attracted to her, he tries in vain to resist her.
Tori as mixed feelings towards Alfonso, she’s was attracted to him the second she payed eyes on him, but the fact that he kidnapped her and belittled her, had her hating him.

This romance will get you glued to the book. Tori and Alfonso’s story is complicated with ups and downs, stops and turns! But it’s all worth it just to have that wonderful ending.

Asked to review by the publisher.

Tori plans to object at her ex-fiance's wedding but runs into the bride's brother. Alfonso whisks Tori away to his private island to prevent her from stopping the wedding. Even though they cannot stand each other a spark grows between the two. Yet Alfonso fights his feeling because he believes Tori is a gold digger and Tori is not willing to admit her feelings for fear of rejection and his obvious disgust with her. The two continue to have a back and forth, love/hate relationship. Will the two finally get on the same page and realize just how much the other feels for them?

At times I wanted to slap Alfonso. He was so wrapped up in who he thought Tori was that he could not see the truth in front of him. Gabriella, Alfonso's sister, was a character I would have loved to see more of. She was able to pull quite a few strings in the background to set up Alfonso and Tori to find a happily ever after.
Sometimes the back and forth of Tori and Alfonso's relationship can be annoying to some readers but I thoroughly enjoyed what a fool Alfonso made of himself and felt sorry for Tori for what she had to deal with from him. Overall an enjoyable romantic tale of finding your soulmate when he can be a clueless jerk.

As I was reading this book I could not help but dislike the main male character Alfonso he was arrogant and annoying and I did not want the main female lead to give in to him. I understand that he had some redeeming qualities and ended up being a decent guy and I enjoyed the way the book progressed. I liked the read and I am glad that I gave the book a chance and was happy I did.

I honestly feel like i had whiplash reading this. Both main characters are extremely mercurial and probably perfect for one another in their craziness. I kept thinking who on earth would date/love someone who continually distrusted them and treated them like a gold digging whore despite being the one to kidnap them, but apparently a one time meeting/attraction to a stranger is enough to justify all of his faults. As opposed to being an alpha male, i just found the Alfonso to be an overbearing brute, who bullied Tori and rarely gave her so much as an apology.

I felt that the author could have focused more on the development of the characters relationship as opposed to cramming in as many sex scenes as possible in the earlier stages of the book, as it makes their relationship appear fickle and based entirely on sex.

Edit: a final note, i feel that the author essentially gives away the story in the blurb and could leave more to the imagination

This book was eh, idk. This one wasn't for me. I will say that I dont like when authors don't put the ages of the Hero/Heroine in there stories. I thought Tori was 22 or 23 for a little bit until she mentioned the passing of her family and how she was at Uni when it happened and that was like 10 years ago. So i put her at 28-30. I have no clue how old Alfonso was. I was very confused knowing that Tori was a lot older then I thought, her being younger would have explained her being so niave. Alfonso was kind of cruel and I don't think there was anything endearing about him. There were small glimpses of his kindness but for the most part he was super insecure and mean. Tori was a huge pushover and some of it was just unbelievable at times. This one wasn't for me at all.

I love a good enemies to lovers romance. This book features Alfonso, billionaire mogul who is head strong yet very gentleman and Tori, a successful, athlete and elite gym business owner. Tori’s actions are interceded as she attempts to seek revenge on her ex fiancé’s wedding. Alfonso, the sister of the bride discovers Tori and abducts her to a beautiful remote island where she can’t disrupt the nuptials. Alfonso, though a gentleman, is continually riled up by Tori’s headstrong approach to asserting her needs and pushing for her release. Though conflict ensues, so does the attraction and sexual tension, leading to an adventurous stay at the island and an eventful next few months.

I enjoyed this book! The tension and back and forth between the characters made for a lot of build up. The absurd kidnapping premise was set up well enough to not be super awkward and completely implausible. The characters met their romantic matches. It took a while for the characters to move past the initial disdain for one another to realize how well matched they were. I enjoyed Tori’s reluctance to embrace Alfonso, despite their torrid affair. Her moving on gave her the opportunity I un loud her judgment beyond the influence of the romantic island and an attractive Italian Billionaire.

I was expecting more drama between the couple’s fate in relation to the other tertiary characters, namely Alfonso’s sister Gabriella. I expected there to be more scheming by Gabriella on Tori, given the character set up. But Gabriella’s role veered away from that premise, and it disappointed me.

The writing was choppy at times. Because the book was third person writing, with a preference towards Tori, the female character. I would have liked more balance between the two since it was third lesson. the author also over relied on pronouns. I got confused at times about which character was being referenced. I’d have to re-read sections in an attempt to discern who was evening referenced.

Plot Implausibility: it is highly unlikely that Tori would be fluent in Italian in such a short amount of time (2-3 months) without constant language immersion. A few hours of lessons a day would not cut it for fluency!

I really wanted to like this book more than I did and I’ll tell you why I wasn’t able to and it’s basically because while I was reading this book I felt like I was reading a copy of another of Kyra Radcliff’s novels.

I read An Uneasy Alliance and while it wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read it was a quick read that had some decent romance scenes(sex) and some okay characters. This novel was essentially exactly the same just with a different premise but all the same things sort of happen. For that male lead you have a ruggedly handsome rich man who is holding a woman captive in some way and he seduces and ends up falling for her all the whole exhibiting bipolar tendencies and treating her like shit except when he wants to have sex with her. And for the female lead we have a woman who seems to be very strong, independent, headstrong and tough. I mean it takes brass balls to try to break up the wedding of the man who left you at the alter to marry someone else. I don’t think that’s for the faint of heart. That’s what the MC, Tori, planned to do here but you expect me to believe a woman with that type of boldness will just be putty in this man’s hands even as he kidnaps and emotionally abuses her? Even if I did buy that, I wouldn’t buy it twice and that’s what is happening here. Kyra made some minor changes and sold me the same thing (not literally because as I said I did not actually purchase this with my own money but you get what I mean.)

I’d those are just the characters she likes to write then I think she definitely should switch it up a bit more so I don’t feel like I’m reading the same thing. Let’s take Meghan March and how she loves to write an Alpha male. They have the same overall characteristic, Alpha, yet their intricacies are different which doesn’t make me feel like I’m reading the same story. (For example, some of her Alphas are rich, some poor, some criminals, some police officers, black, white, grew up in foster care, etc)

Anyhow, I hoe she continues to write and perfect her novels and creates some stellar characters and puts them in an amazing storyline soon.

A brilliant romance read that I completed in one night!
(This novel was a review copy provided to me by the publisher. However, all opinions expressed are my own and in no way influenced)

The Italian Billionaire's Kidnapped Mistress by Kyra Radcliff was a stunning modern romance novel that I enjoyed immensely. With a compelling storyline and just as compelling storytelling, the author kept me hooked until the very end. It turned light outside as I read the last few pages of this book.

Let's talk about the characters. I thought Tori is a well-fleshed out career woman who is not afraid to go after what she wants. But with this business acumen of hers is also a very emphatic nature as we see just a few pages in. She is willing to make a mockery of herself if it means she can save someone from a hideous destiny they have no control on. I think Radcliff has made a very relatable and contemporary woman for us readers to believe in. As such, it felt like it was really very real and tangible and as if am a part of the story.
On the other hand, the author has created a hero who is volatile and in his volatility and emotions, is a very real perception of a man, who is successful and always has his way. He is demanding and possessive and cares about his family, willing to go to any length to save them from worry. Contrary to the 'warm and loving' nature of Tori, I think Alfonso is a very grey character and it is again this very aspect that makes his so real.

The storytelling was very very compelling. I felt like the author was building up to a crescendo as I read on - because things get so intense I had to put the book down and just take a deep breath, many times. In that, I feel like it was a real flesh and blood story of the lives of two people I know. The author really took us on a ride, and I mean it in a good way!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book - if the fact that I could not put it down once I started, is anything to go by. I do recommend it to all romance buffs! This one is going to break you apart and build you up! 4 stars!

Tori Parsons is a beautiful, successful owner of an elite fitness club who has been left at the altar by Cesare Moretti. She heads off to Milan to ruin her ex-fiance’s wedding to the very wealthy Gabriella Marchese. Gabriella comes from a filthy rich family who runs the Italian fashion industry. Much to her chagrin, Tori is shoved into a limo before she can interrupt the wedding ceremony. The bride’s brother Alfonso Marchese, a billionaire, absconds with her to protect his baby sister Gabriella. He kidnaps Tori and flies her to a secluded and breathtakingly scenic island which he owns. (Swoon…)

Alfonso is devastatingly handsome and sultry and seductive. He can also be quite charming. They don’t like each other at first. At one point, Tori injures her leg hiking and Alfonso scoops her up in his arms and carries her across the island back to his villa. So she starts to see another side to him.

Sometimes Alfonso is ultra-sexy and chivalrous. Other times he is argumentative and insulting. Tori cannot figure him out! But what she eventually deduces is that he is aroused by her! Oh, how the tables have turned on Alfonso! No woman gets under his skin! Ever!

Tori’s assumptions about Alfonso and his family start to fade. And Alfonso’s assumptions are no longer valid. They learn surprising things about each other as the story unfolds. There are so many shocking surprises! The seemingly innocent characters may not be innocent at all! Kyra Radcliff is a master at building the tension and interspersing the frustrating scenes with the hot, steamy scenes.

I really enjoyed the haughty character Alfonso. Both he and Tori can be controlling and stubborn. Look out for the sparks that ensue!

Unlike most romance books, the dirty parts started early in the story! What a welcome surprise! The real sizzle! The plot is developed in a devilish way and you can’t wait to finish the book. The writing is very sharp and witty! This book is a real stunner!

This story starts out with Victoria . She owns a fitness center and was left at the alter. She see’s an article about her
ex fiancé getting married. She makes a fast decision to fly to Italy to stop the wedding because she thinks he is being forced. But realizes after the fact that he isn’t being forced but she is too late . In comes Alfonso he is a billionaire who thinks that Victoria is a gold digger and trying to ruin his sisters wedding. He makes a fast choice throws her in car and takes her to an island. Even though she is kidnapped there is a huge amount of chemistry and attraction . She tries to ignore it and he uses it to try to get her to show her true colors. But all is not what it seems as both are holding feeling that neither want to admit. As they go through emotions and steamy sexual tension giving in to passion. As they separate because he is overwhelmed it takes weeks and his cunning sister to bring them back to each other . One part I did not like was even though he knows she not a bad person he still gets angry and accuses her of horrible things. Followed with insults then apologies I found that to hard sometimes wondered why a strong women would put up with it attracted or not. But after they finally talked it through the truth was learned .
Kyra Radcliffe writes a beautiful story about two people in Paradise you can almost smell the ocean. The story is very well written .
I was given this book by Dawn Hill Publications for my honest review.

2 stars... This story really missed the mark for me

I really enjoyed the plot even though it was unbelievable and thought it had a lot of potential, but the MC’s ruined what could’ve been a really entertaining romance. They both gave me so much whiplash with their feelings it was ridiculous. Tori was so sure she loved Caesar and she was saving him from a forced marriage and not 3 days later she all of a sudden starts to think she loves Alfonso. He makes her cry and insults her, but in literally the next breath she’s ready to jump into bed with him. I couldn’t empathize with her situation because she kept on going back and forth. I really didn’t like Alfonso. I normally don’t mind a not so friendly H, but right out the gate he was super mean to Tori and judged her character without even knowing her. He insulted her so much it was cringe worthy. I don’t know what she saw in him. I couldn’t connect with the characters at all, and because of them I struggled to finish the story. Out of all of the stories I read from this author this one definitely had the most potential. Even though it was a miss for me I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it.

This book was a brilliant read.

Reading the Vulnerability in both Alfonso and Tori was truly breathtaking. They both seem like such strong people yet deep down have many insecurities that they use to help find excuses in why people want to speak or have any part in their lives for.

These characters go on a truly amazing journey together, and you feel the sexual tension even when reading it. when you first meet Alfonso you see the Hardfaced, Arrogant cocky man but he is soo much more and you truly delve into that.
Tori is strong and always thinks of other even when she travelled to Milan thinking she was saving Ceaser from a marriage she thought he was forced into but one look at the happy couple she knew she was wrong and meeting Alfonso only confirmed to her that she never loved Ceaser anyway.

The chemistry in the book is wow. I loved every second my only critique is that I felt the ending was a little rushed and could have been dragged out a little more but I was left wanting to read more about how the future developed for them.

Thank you for allowing me the chance to read this ARC I loved it.
