Aaaand now there are also aliens. With each volume the series is getting weirder and weirder. But so far this is my favorite one. The justice negation is such a cool ability! The magic system is awesome.
P.s. there is a Russian character with one badass ability. The characters visited Russia in volume one and it was shown as a normal country. And now everyone in the world is speaking Russian. I am loving this!

I don't really have concrete definitions for the "shelves" I use on Goodreads, so I'm not confident about my use of my "brutality" tag here. I ordinarily use it for gore in manga, and this manga does have a lot of blood, but I wouldn't say the violence is particularly nasty. Regardless, I'll use the tag for a presumed sense of "consistency."

Anyway, this volume makes a significant leap in worldbuilding before beginning another arc against enemy Negators. We learn more about how Rules work; there is a God who is in charge of creating the Rules and associated UMAs. For failing one of the Quests given by Apocalypse, a new UMA is born: Galaxy. Space has been expanded around Earth, such that there are stars and other planets now existing... meaning before now Undead Unluck only had a single planet existing in a void...! Additionally, though I forgot what it was a consequence of, human language has been reduced primarily to widespread English, not unlike a Tower of Babel deal, though it doesn't seem to affect Negators, who thus do not magically have their native tongues converted to English, making them easier to grab for human-traffickers and Negator Hunters.

At the beginning of the series, Andy and Fuuko were targeted by "enemy" Negators, who became allies when our heroes were hired into the Union. We're now seeing Negator Hunters, who are more strongly antagonistic, giving something of a Bleach feel, with Shen acting like Renji or something, the greater Union being the Gotei 13, and now Rip and the other Negator Hunters as something like the Arrancars. Or maybe it would be easier to go further back in Jump history and just compare everything to Bronze and Gold Saints from Saint Seiya? Regardless, Undead Unlock is basically following "standard" tropes for Jump battle manga, but it's all good 'cuz the setting is pretty unique.

With "God" as the primary enemy, I'm a little apprehensive that the series will follow the route taken by Jujutsu Kaisen, where the main villain is so ridiculously overpowered compared to the heroes, such that many plot developments feel a little "boring" or "predictable" because you can tell so-called strong characters will "job" when they have to battle the villain. Will things escalate naturally to a fight against God? Or will it get lopsided?

This series is so fun now! Tatiana was such a MVP in this one and I love all the different UMAs and Negators that are popping up. The worldbuilding is kind of insane but I love that.

While working on their current assignment Andy releases the card bringing out the tough part of him not easily controlled and the team has to work on either destroying him or getting that card back in.

I'm just loving this series. The fun and interesting set of characters make it so easy to see what else kinda trouble they can get into. It was really interesting seeing that other side of Andy and can't wait to see what kinda chaos he'll deal when he comes back because I got a feeling things are gonna be more interesting in the future with that bit. It was nice getting to know more about the different characters and also look forwards to getting to know more about each of the team. Then there's the next mission they need to do I enjoyed seeing how it played out as they were working with a different team member so get to see how they can work together. Naturally loved seeing the banter between Andy and Fuuko and look forward to seeing what happens next especially with how this volume ended!

Fuuko Izumi, nicknamed Unluck, has the power of unluck. Anyone who touches her skin-to-skin dies. She meets and teams up with the immortal Undead who she nicknames Andy. In the last volume Andy was possessed by Victhor, the God of Victory, while Undead and Unluck were fighting successfully to join a group of negators like them, The Union.

Wow, I love this series. It’s got everything I want in a manga. Good and believable underlying mythos. A strong female teen role. Unusual artwork. Action and more action. And now…aliens!

Overall, Undead Unluck Vol 3 is a fun addition to the series. 4 stars!

Ce que j’aime le plus lorsque j’ai beaucoup de retard dans mes séries, c’est le fait de pouvoir enchaîner les tomes. Surtout quand il s’agit d’un manga que j’aime énormément comme celui ci. Après avoir lu le second tome, je me suis jetée sur le troisième dans la foulée. C’était encore une fois un véritable sans faute. Toujours aussi fou, toujours aussi drôle, toujours aussi rempli d’actions. On ne s’ennuie pas une seule seconde avec ce tome, tout comme les autres d’ailleurs. On sent que cette série a un potentiel incroyable et je meurs déjà d’impatience de découvrir tout le reste!

Dans ce troisième tome, on retrouve tous les membres de l’Union qui font face à Andy qui s’est désormais transformé en Victor. Afin de ramener son compagnon, Fûko décide de prendre part à cette lutte violente. Elle se jette alors sur Victor afin de l’attaquer à l’aide d’une grosse catastrophe!

Avec la fin du tome précédent, j’avais vraiment hâte de découvrir la suite de cette histoire. J’avais hâte de voir comment l’Union allait pouvoir faire face à Andy devenu désormais Victor. Fûko a été tellement incroyable ici! Ce qu’elle a fait était complètement dingue mais ça a clairement payé. J’adore le duo que forme Andy et Fûko, je les trouve merveilleux ensemble et forment une équipe absolument géniale. J’ai adoré le moment où ils se préparent pour leur future mission, celle sur le paquebot, la pauvre Fûko, elle m’a bien fait rire. D’ailleurs, cette nouvelle mission, je l’ai trouvé super intéressante mais surtout palpitante. J’adore Chikara, j’espère qu’il restera longtemps dans l’histoire, son pouvoir est impressionnant mine de rien!

Un troisième tome à la hauteur des précédents, toujours aussi palpitant et intéressant. On découvre un peu comment l’Union fonctionne avec leurs différentes missions que leur donne Apocalyspe. Ils doivent à tout prix réussir les missions qu’on leur donne.. Je trouve ça très intéressant, j’adore Apocalypse, je ne sais pas pourquoi exactement mais je trouve cet artefact drôle. Je sens que la suite va être très très intéressante! D’ailleurs je m’en vais de ce pas dévorer le quatrième tome!

Heck yeah, let the absolutely bonkers battles continue. Fuuko is actually coming into her own in this volume and it's been a very welcome change from her kind of one note existence before. I love the way her and Andy are partnering up even better in the battles now. The chapter begins with the finale of the Victor fight which involves Fuuko ripping open his face to pull out Andy. Wicked metal, as he would say. The Negator team failed to complete all of the book's tasks though, so Galaxy is released and everyone is now in a galaxy instead of a standalone place. Which of course means...alien invasion which is swiftly stopped by Unjustice and ends all possible invasions. Also language is won as a prize which makes English the language for the world, the only issue being that negators still speak their language without being effected by it, making them easier to identify. This round of quests failing also means a new stone is added to the Ragnarok tablet, which when it reaches 101, Ragnarok occurs. They have two more slots left. I just love how freaking absurd and epic this story is and their main goal is to kill god. Meanwhile, Andy, Tatiana, and Fuuko go to a UMA/Negator auction for the rich where they encounter a group of negators set on fighting humanity and destroying nations. They're like the dark version of our crew. Tatiana has a super sweet story beat with Fuuko and is about to do something truly next level. We also met a guy with the Unmove power who may join them. Andy is suave as always. This series is seriously impressing me with the complex enough battles and a world of such utter epicness.

I do like Andy’s and Fuuko’s budding relationship. I think it’s fun. This is a really fun and silly manga. Def different than a lot I’ve read this year. ESP when I just finished the super serious Tokyo ghoul. I am not a fan of making all the people in the work except for negators speak English. It gives me an ick. Or that their plan is to kill God which is interesting

Andy transforms into Victhor when the chip is out of his head. Fuuko manages to get him back to his usual Andy and gets the chip back in. Andy, Fuuko and the other members of the ten members are working on getting an 11th member. With more if Andy's Pervyness it's hilarious 😂

This volume has a lot going for it. Andy and Fuuko have great chemistry, and the rest of the cast are likeable too. See Rip and Latla's first appearance again made me really happy. I completely forgot Feng was introduced this early. That was a neat surprise. Also, 10/10 costume design for Andy and Fuuko. The suit and dress they wear this arc both looked simultaneously gorgeous from a party setting, and bada** as soon as the fighting started. Really good volume.

I read the official English translation on an app called “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”.
We, the readers, get to see Victor/Victhor again as well as a new character that could possibly be added to The Union. That is, if everyone makes it out alive; with that said I’m worried about Fuuko and hope everyone does make it out alright. This is a wonderful series and I’m excited to see what happens in the next volume.

I like seeing Fuuko make friends! Tatiana is nice, for what little we do get of her here, as well as the new boy. The Union as it's been presented so far is pretty cutthroat- sending members out to kill negators, encouraging Fuuko and Andy to kill Union members just to take their place. But Fuuko reaches out with a bit of empathy and tries to make them happy despite how shitty everything is!

Also we get the reveal of Juiz's power and oh god it's so stupid powerful.
