Title: ➳ ❤- The Client
Series ➳ Professionals Series 8#
Author: ➳ Jessica Gadziala
Publication July 25, 2020)

Fenwick and Wasp story
How the mighty will fall

For those of you that are Fans of the Jessica Gadziala will remember Wasp as Cyrus & Reeves sister from the Henchmen series.
Honestly, I don’t know why Wasp is in this series! But what the heck I always wanted to know both Wasp & Fenwick… but then once I started reading this bad boy things started to fall into place for me

Wasp, her mission of sorts was to making men who deserved it pay for their past indiscretions. So when she was told that Fenwick needed to be brought to his knees by a woman, and also so he could learn the repercussions of his lifestyle.
Wasp-

Wasp was getting way more than she normally was. So of course, Wasp hopped on the next flight to Paris in the illusion that this was going to be a easy job…. She thought how hard could it possibly be to make Fenway Arlington fall in love with me?

Fenwick- love to cause his fair share of international incidents and he was also famous for his flamboyant actions … but the that wasn’t the only thing that Fenwick was famous for… 100% playboy, and Fenwick will learn the hard way how that’s big NO NO when it comes to his new flavor of the moment

I must say I can’t believe that I’m finally here …. Yay I slowly made my way through Professionals Series….. now I’m patiently waiting going to start The Cleaner

⬇Always remember⬇

📚 💖 Hope you enjoy this read 💖& also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

Intrigued with the blurb and immediately picking it up, I found The Client an unusual read. A conwoman set out to teach the playboy a lesson of his life that inturn brings out a different persona in them which they never realised they had.

"I make men fall in love with me. Then I cut their legs out from under them."

"They were butter."

"I was a hot knife."

Wasp was an ice queen, not sorry to punish men who stray from their relationship. She is stubborn and can cut a man to slices with her terrible words if needs be. Living in her cherished schoolie (a school bus renovated to house) with her best friend Raven they travelling around to expose cheating men. Wasp finds herself alone when Raven settles down with the love of her life. She continues her job, when an anoymous woman hires her to con Fenway for alot of money. Before she knows it, she breaks her rules and sleeps with her client.

"The playboy who had finally met my match. The one woman who wouldn't fall for my charms. The one who refused to take me at face-value. The one who would need more than that from me. And I wasn't sure I could give anyone that."

Fenway Arlington was filthy rich who is careless with his money and can make and change decisions any minute. Causing many international scandals someone was out to teach him a lesson by a professional "fixer" so he could learn the repercussions of his lifestyle. But beneath his piddling exterior is a carefree man with an scandalous antics and a big generous heart.

"You're ridiculous."
"-Ly charming."
"What?"
"Your sentence trailed off. Clearly, you intended to say I am 'ridiculously charming."

"Seriously?" she asked, dropping down after she heard the shutter, rolling her eyes at me. "What could you possibly need a picture of my ass for?"
"I am going to have it printed on a pillow and sleep on it at night," I declared, only half joking as I moved to lay down."

Wasp and Fenway were attracted to each other since their first meet, both having different agendas in their mind. Wasp knew to push the right buttons to trap Fenway.

"For a woman who loved to be in control of situations, she melted into a puddle of need when you took charge in bed.
I was going to win this.
And, sure, she was going to be a sore loser afterward.
But that was a problem for later.
The only problem now was figuring out which way I was going to torture answers out of her. My fingers. My tongue. My cock. She was a sucker for all of the above."

But he was no less, he pestered her until he won her over. He can be a man-child when he needs to be. Their witty dialogues/comments are something to look forward to, especially Fenway, he lives no space nor decisions to make and Wasp can't help but feel cherished and pretty.
This book was a wonder and gave me happy feelings. Fenway was an adventurer and his cold-exterior (which is very rare) was hot. Wasp's anger was "puch" amount of anger she throws towards Fenway that I felt sympathic towards him and wanted to save him from her. This book is a standalone included in a series. There are characters in this book who have individual books. I highly recommend this series. Trust me it's a fun ride.

Considering that Fenway was never one of my favorite characters...I quite enjoyed his book!! It was a pleasant surprise to find out what was beneath his light hearted, giving soul.
This was book #8 in the Professionals series, and I am very eager for what comes next!!!
I am glad that I gave this series a chance. It has been well worth it!

Fenway and Wasp were one of the most fun books I've read all year!

No one is trying to kill them, no bad guys really to speak of, just a more in depth look than we've had previously at what makes each of them tick.

Fenway is all that we thought he was: filthy rich, endlessly shallow, born just to have fun and waste precious fossil fuels in his private jet and yacht it seems. Underneath all that though, holy WOW! I won't ruin it for you, you need to see what makes him one of Jessica Gadziala's most special characters, but there's a lot to unpack, a lot that has made him who he is, and act the way he does.

Wasp too is not all she seems. She's not just the cold, ice faerie with the ice picks used for heels just waiting to punish the man she's been hired to teach a lesson today. And her reason for being the way she is? Completely understandable. It seems she, like the rest of the women on the planet, has heard "you'd be prettier if you'd smile more" just one too many times!

The sexual tension, even from their first meet-cute is off the charts, and I must say I laughed out loud when their first encounter left them both so out of sorts. That one scene in particular? Forget about it, you'll have to read it for yourself, but it is SO HOTTTT!

And a shout out to Ms. Gadziala for flexing her LGBTQ+ ally muscles with the first non-binary character I've read anywhere. Alvy is a breath of fresh air, and I hope we read more about them and their partner soon!

5 bright and shiny stars for this over the top Enemies To Lovers standalone from Jessica Gadziala, I can't wait to see where she's off to next!

Wow this book rocks! Wasp is someone I want to have my back if I am ever wronged. Fenway is someone I want to go on an adventure with. I got to see what it would be like for that to happen in this book.
Smart sassy Wasp meets her person to take on adventures with. Fenway has finally met his match and doesn’t know what hit him when Wasp walks into his life.

And a epilogue that has us all wanting more from Jessica Gadziala!!

It was a job she couldn’t refuse, play the playboy and walk away with a pocket full of money.

Seriously, do you really think Jessica Gadziala would let things be that simple? THE CLIENT is another prickly, humorous and sassy romance with a twist as one professional meets her match that will change her nomadic, mercenary life forever!

Fans of Jessica Gadziala KNOW they are in for another twisted treat as we travel the friendly skies to passion and promise as only she can do!

I've been waiting for this story for a long time.
Fenway and his antics were a constant background presence in a lot of Jessica's books.
He was always someone who enjoys his life and money and was never worried about the consequences of his actions.
Money can solve all problems, right?
I knew his story will be hilarious, but I couldn't know how amazing, funny, sweet and swoony he actually can be.
I love him! 😍😍😍
I really love him in this story.
He is like a little kid, that discovers the world. Only this kid has unlimited amount of money 😂
Wesp is this badass, tough, emancipated woman, that has zero trust and respect for the male population.
Her experience and her profession let her see men in a very obscure, negative and unpleasant light.
Her ideas about men are based on the events in her life and these have always been terrible.
She is opinionated, stubborn and cutting on the outside, but when the cover falls she's just lonely.
Yeah, what happens when the two seemingly complete opposite worlds clash into each other?
An amazing, exceptional and emotional love story with all the warm and beautiful swoony feelings.
The unique way Jessica writes her stories and the craziness of Fenway's world makes this book to an absolute page-turner.
The emotions and fights for dominance between the characters and their struggles with their feelings are, what makes this book not only entertaining but also unbelievable beautiful ❤ ❤ ❤
This is one of those books that you finish with a smile on your face and a massive hangover.
Why do the best books always have to be over so quickly? 😣

It actually PAINS me to write this review. It actually does. The Professionals series has been a firm favourite of mine for the longest time and I have been waiting with baited breath for Fenway's story since the beginning.

I loved the premise of this, the playboy and the conwoman. Absolutely here for it. I just felt that this book had zero tension. There was no clear motivation/stakes raised when Wasp was asked to break his heart. Wasn't she curious who? How? Why? Nope, she just cracked on and cast no other thought as to who might it be.

For a professional conwoman, she was a terrible conwoman. They spent all of 5 minutes together and she was falling for him... huh? There was barely anything there, barely an attraction and suddenly they couldn't get enough of one another.

Then there was the reveal of who actually asked her to break his hear... SO LAME. I can't even.

There was so little tension that even when Fenway found out he had been played, he... did... nothing... He forgave her immediately. All is good in the world. When he found out who paid her... no big deal. All's good.

Small irritation: there were SO many grammatical issues in the beginning, didn't impact the story but I was surprised as this is never an issue for JG.

It looks like we're going to get a few more stories from the new professional employees yet, so I'm really hoping they bring it back - because this series is so so good.

I love the dynamic between Fenwick and Wasp. The story has great flow, great character building and just makes you feel for both characters. Fenwick is hysterical and I just love Alvy. Wasp and Raven are the type of friends that you wish and hope to have with your own friend. This is a great read.

A femme fatale is hired to seduce a rich playboy and break his heart. What she didn't plan on was becoming seduced herself by the charming playboy and developing something she has never had for a man before – feelings.

Fans of the author will remember Wasp as Cyrus and Reeves sister from the Henchmen series. She and her best friend Raven traveled the US to expose men who were dishonest or cheaters. Now that Raven has found true love Wasp finds herself at a crossroads, continue on with the mission or retire. A new job offer is too tempting to turn down and she set off to Paris on her own not knowing how that would change her life forever.

There are plenty of surprise guest characters from other series that pop up throughout that really added to the enjoyment of the book.

5 Phenomenal Stars

The Client is the 8th installment in Jessica Gadziala's "Professionals" series and can be read as a standalone.

Wasp is on a mission one that she did with her best friend but Raven went and fell in love, started a family and left her on her own to continue said mission. She would never be so foolish to fall in love. Famous last words!

Fenway is someone who is always chasing that next high. his high is travelling the world and seeing what trouble he can get into.

Alvy is a breath of fresh and my first non-binary character I've read to date. I think Jessica did a great job with her character.

The sexual tension, even from their first meet is of the charts and Ii just wanted to see where their story was going. Yes I read this in one sitting and I'm not ashamed to admit it! This is my new favourite book of the year.

As always Jessica knows how to do one fine epilogue! Highly recommend you read The Client as soon as you can get your hands on it.

2.5 STARS 🌟

The blurb sounded great, but I just didn't FEEL the passion love between these two to say they were so broken up over losing each other.
Fenway was a tad childish for me at times but that maybe me as I like a strong alpha male.
However it was a sweet story, I did like the epilogue throughout the following years.

This book was such a fun adventure with all the feels! Wasp as Jessica writes was a very strong female lead. And Fenway. Oh Fenway.... He lives his life one adventure at a time. He literally clicks his heels and lands anywhere in the world with anyone he wants starting a whole new adventure. I really, really enjoyed this book. As a mother of three it was such a great escape first class at Fenway's expense of course. This book can be read as a stand alone or as apart of The Professional's Series! Can't wait for what you create next JG!!!!!

At 33% into this book, I felt it was spinning its wheels. Long winded, trivial conversations and numerous, lengthy, heroine mental musings made me feel like I was wasting my time. The author at that point also did not give me a hero or heroine I found overly appealing. He was a Mr. poor, bored, spoiled, entitled, Casanova rich guy who despite living the life of excess luxury and privilege it was never enough. He wasn’t happy unless he was somehow setting the world on fire. He seemed to feel untouchable in regards to consequences for anything (learned that in The Negotiator), especially the past countless gorgeous women he reeled in, had his way with, then cut loose without a backward glance.

Yep, I had a previous, very recent intriguing glimpse of him in The Negotiator. The Client story line, however, did not do him or the heroine justice. Their falling for each other love story could have been shaped into something a whole lot more, folks.. Buying her things while they milled around as tourists seemed to be his biggest attribute and showed what a great guy he was. Oh, yeah, putting his arm around her shoulders while they walked did it for her, as well. She grew to like to snuggle with the guy, too. All this while he kept telling her he wanted her and would eventually have her between the sheets, because he knew she wanted it, too. Yep, that did ultimately happen in this very graphic detailed smexy read.

The heroine may be beautiful but was made to look exceedingly weird and uncool by driving/living out of an old converted school bus. Really? Just really? I don’t care what bells and whistles she creatively added to it herself. That is just plain too OTT out there for me to be impressed with. Trying to pass it off as a neat, creative talent….Yeah, no, I don’t think so. Need I actually point out why her Wasp nickname felt like a poor choice to me and even grated on my nerves whenever it was uttered? That was supposedly to be clever, too. Yeah, no, once again. Both made me feel embarrassed for her to be scripted that way. Her character was classier than that.

This lackluster story line just felt off compared to what I expected from the previous three books I’ve read of this series. The Fixer and Ghost were both 4 star reads. Pretty much as soon as this couple started to make plans to spend time together, I wanted to distance myself from them. It wasn’t so bad once I just accepted neither were going to wow me over like I thought. The rest just panned out in an average, run of the mill, mild relationship angst conclusion. I enjoyed the brotherly love and casino bit near the end..but the ending itself just resolved itself and fizzled out. The overly long, kept springing forward into the future epi-logue didn’t seem it was ever going to end...so I skimmed then skipped the actual last wording of most of it. A brief dramatic scene I would have expected much earlier on (to really make the hero realize how lost he'd be without her) was surprisedly thrown in last minute. Putting it in the epilogue was unusual, to say the least.

I’ll keep reading the series though, because I do tend to really enjoy this author’s writing style.

I ended up skimming. Boring. I was charmed by Fenway in the first books but he was childish in this one. I didnt like Wasp or insertion of a "non-binary" character. Seriously the population of supposedly non binary people is between .02% and .5%. I get tired of being preached to through freaking entertainment.

Book was ok, but I did not care for the Non-binary character. It was so confusing when she was referring to they/them. If they/ them character just used the persons name it would have helped. I also dont like the virus being brought up in her last couple books. I read to escape reality.

Can we just take a moment to truly appreciate Jessica and her crazy ability to create character I continue to fall harder in love with, with every damn book!. What even is this magic.

Finally we have the long awaited story of our troublesome rouge playboy millionaire, Fenway.

Fenway appears to be the kind of guy that's trouble with a capital T. His care free attitude and naughty shenanigans definitely do not help him appear anything other than a spoilt man child with no care in the world. Do not be mistaken... Fenway absolutely is manchild with his outrageous antics and lack of fucks to give however, he's also a whole lot more that he likes shows.

'My forgiveness didn't need to be earned on the back of her pride. If your ego required someone else to make themselves small to be able to welcome them back into your life, maybe it was time to reevaluate your relationship dynamic.' Fenway.

Wasp. I mean really does anything need to be said about this woman right here?. A dog trainer really is a appropriate term for her kind of work. Wasp is a badass lady boss riding solo in her killer heels with Wanda teaching dogs valuable life lessons the hard way and I was HEREFORIT. she's prickly, closed off and absolutely jaded to the opposite sex but under all that hard exterior is definitely some sweet and soft that only few get to see.

Also for anyone who is unsure of whom Wasp is, she's Cyrus and Reeve's sister.

She was sent to bring him down a peg or two but instead they both imploded. He's a little broken but hides it well, she's a whole lot of jaded and doesn't even bother trying to hide it. The ying to the others yang really they just balance eachother out so well. Their story of course is not your typical romance but I mean where would be the fun in that?. These two are a whole lot of sexual tension rolled up into one explosive bomb waiting to drop. I loved the fun teasing power struggle between them!. It only served to push the tensions higher. The chemistry was everything!!!. The connection between them was instantaneous despite reservations and it was easy to see and believe they were it for eachother early on because they fit together so seamlessly.

Jessica just has a way with character and story building. Wasp and Fenway are both such intriguing characters with so much depth and substance you can't help but feel connected to them. It's easy to believe in characters that are relatable and real. Their story is fast paced and filled with all kinds of crazy spontaneous shenanigans that will have you feeling all the good feels. Amongst all that crazy we also get the see below the surface of these multidimensional characters and find out what makes them tick. We get to see their vulnerability and we get to see them fall in love even when they weren't quite sure of that fact themselves. It's sweet and hilarious and all kinds of sexy. It's also surprisingly a little heart breaking at times with a touch of suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for what's to come. Of course it would not be a Jessica story without her adding in some wicked side characters both old and new and teasing us with future possibilities and obviously her giving us the most epic, sweet and utterly satisfying epilogues ever.

Fenway was a highly anticipated character for me and him and Wasp lived up to every expectation and then some. I don't think I'll ever get enough of their quirky story.

Also... did not see that one coming with who did the hiring!!!. I was fucking SHOOK. Best surprise ever.

Now I need to know more about Eamon Awan.

This was my very first JG book and I enjoyed it. The story was quite fast-paced and had some novel elements to it--primarily, a binary minor character. That was another first for me! I gathered there were some prior books were some of the characters in this story had already appeared in and this was later confirmed at the end of the book. I don't think I have ever read a trope where the h is a conwoman and the H is the mark so this turned out to be a surprisingly great execution of that.

However, I did have high expectations based on how well this book rated with my friends. Unfortunately, it didn't quite reach the bar I had set for it. I don't know why but the narration seemed a little dry to me. It probably just came off as new because as I have already mentioned, this was the first time I read this author. Maybe it just needs a little getting used to? Perhaps. I was also bothered by just how happy-go-lucky the H was--he had a lot of businesses, didn't see the need to go in for work, and just traveled the world and burn his money. Despite the premise that he was a billionaire, that just didn't sit well with me. And I think my most favorite part was exposing who the originator of the con was. That was a nice touch.

Overall, I had originally rated this book with two stars but I added another one for its super-extended epilogue--just how I like my HEAs to wrap up!

The Client is Fenway and Wasp's story. It can stand alone better than most of this author's novels (I believe all but one duet is it's own story but frequently with interrelated characters. So having the backstory and knowing the other side characters is nice.) I have read the previous books which introduced Fenway and prefer that peak into his life but it isn't necessary.

With that, I had a harder time with this novel because Raven (Wasp's bff) was talked about and present a lot. Roman, Raven's husband, was talked about as well. Both of these characters had been introduced previously but we have no idea who they are. I spent a lot of time trying to remember their story only to figure out that it isn't written yet. No, it wasn't critical to know but I am used to this author's novels and this confused me a bit.

Otherwise, The Client is just as you would expect. The female is a strong lead. The male, while alpha, is also lovable in many other ways. Definitely recommend and am already wanting more from this author.
