Scottie Harper was Logan Avery’s first love. He was so crazy about her that he handed her his heart on a platter. She promised she’d keep it safe, instead she mercilessly broke it. Then she left.
Years later, she’s back, and she’s nothing like Logan remembered. Now there are shadows in her eyes and she has ‘Do Not Touch’ signs all over her luscious curves. And that’s a problem… because he still wants to touch.
However, regardless of the sparks that still fly whenever they’re in the same room, he’s not sure he should look back. Their past still haunts him. He’s torn between the love he still has and the agony she caused him. Is he strong enough to let himself fall again?
The heroine gets raped and neither of the culprit were punished. To make matters worse her parents and pastor blamed her for being raped. Furthermore she works in the same firm with one of the rapist and says nothing. No person except Christ is that forgiving. She even let's her mother back in her life. Sorry too unreal for me. I know his important it a to forgive but this was just too unrealistic.
This is not a pollyanna story but the writing tone is in a way. At first, it seems like the story is going to be your typical hero hurt but they will realize the misunderstanding that broke them apart and move on from there. But the reason for them breaking up is highly unexpected and has so many effects throughout the story.
It's a good story. But I really wanted to see Scottie and Prince relationship with their mother to be less strenuous. I wanted her to fight for them. Also, what I didn't understand was how she (Scottie) could work with someone that's done harm to her. It was hard to stomach that.
Soooo, where did they decide to live. Did she speak to her mother at the reception? The chemistry seemed a little off with this couple in the beginning of their romance. They didn't quite seem to really mesh. But still was an ok story
I enjoy this series, but this one left some loose ends for me. Logan seemed a bit immature at times and Scottie indecisive. The trauma would explain that, and in the end all was well if not a bit rushed.
Wow, Stockholm syndrome is bad, that vinny guy wouldn’t have been working with me at all. Sad but happy ending. Tissues and sniffing with friends all around
Linda Verji at her best! Really enjoyed this book... won't give any spoilers, but you have to admire the strength of Scottie....her mother not so much! 5 stars....
3.5 Stars. I was really looking forward to Logan's story but it seemed that this was more about Scottie instead. Scottie had eleven years to deal with the aftermath of her attack. But with Logan just finding out this had the opportunity for deeper character development other than running to punch the guy.
