TRIGGER WARNING Sometimes a pack isn’t for everyone – it may even be the death of you. All Isa wanted was to venture out on her own, without her overbearing pack breathing down her neck. Her dream comes crashing down around her when she returns home from college to find her little sister imprisoned for a horrible crime, and her own neck on the chopping block when she decides to set her free. However, her pack offers her a stay of execution – find Brock Wolfsbane, the only wolf from her pack to ever go rogue, or be put to death. Now Isa must hunt for the wolf whose name haunted her dreams as a pup. And, worse, even if she does somehow manage to find Brock and return him to the pack, she must mate with the new alpha, a death sentence in its own right. But the search for the wolf who never wanted to be found will soon unearth a lifetime of secrets. Her only hope is to find the lone wolf, if she wants to survive a world that is hell-bent on killing her.
Isa is a werewolf that has yet to go through the change, a change that makes them almost immortal. Most female werewolves don't survive it and are mated and have kids before they go through it since females are rare. Isa doesn't want that kind of life, she wants to go to school and be free to live her life how she choses. The alpha's son, Rem, wants Isa and will do anything to get her, even if it means blackmailing her to agree. She wants to go back to school and finish getting her degree, but Rem won't allow it. He sets her family up for murder and sends her on a mission to find a lone wolf that is a threat to him. She uncovers many truths on her search and realizes that there is kind people out there who will love her for who she is.
Great book, I gotta be honest, it was kind of hard to start for me because of my own personal past experiences, but it is a amazing read.
The fact that Isa came back at all speaks volumes... though for family you'd do anything. But just how much is too much? Isa will be put through hell but in her mind it's all worth it to save her innocent sister. Just how do you find a boogie man and when you do will he be a bigger monster than the one who's going to be your mate.
I just got this book off Kindle Unlimited for a challenge and I was left surprised. It's an easy read but with some darkness and it's gritty. I absolutely loved it.
This was a very enjoyable read. Fast paced and I liked the writing. Wish it was a little long and we got to know the characters more but a really good stand a lone.
Surprising good read. Truma drama a bit intense, usually off screen with character memories explained. Loved Big Mike. Wish there was more of this world. Quick read, who needs sleep.
