I finished the entire book in less than 48 hours. Adesuwa is one of Nigeria's best authors.
Ihunna can pass as the most anxious person I have met, so much activity. I think Akwaugo is the very definition of me. Strong head with a bit of uncouth speech and unforgiveness. I am not that bad 😄😄 I just need to have a reason for everything and intelligent conversations as well, and that was all she required. Ihunna is more like my sister, busy body everywhere. Leave every family party in her hands she would effectively deliver. And Ogonna is just somewhere in between. Her opinions aren't cast in stone. Just live her to cry, and she is good to go. Legachi is something else🤣🤣🤣🤣when she said Udoka was past tense, I had a good laugh 😃 😀 😄 girl was just having fun, and old guy Udoka really thought a girl 13 years his junior from a well to do family would settle with him because he disvirgined her. Baba was shocked. I have truly enjoyed myself reading this. It's been a real pleasure 🙏 ☺️

Whew this was LONG
Entertaining, parts silly, parts serious, some called out my biases and my ways of seeing things especially when conflicted.
Very relatable as someone who has struggled wuth weight all my adulthood, I understood every kilo the MC gained, the attempts, failing, getting back up. Kinda sad lol
Gave me some hope of finding love while over 40.

My reviews do not follow a structure, I just write down what I have in my mind and I have a lot to say about this book. I believe this is the third book i've read by this author and i have yet to be dissapointed by her! I read books for pure enjoyment and that is exactly what I get from her books. It genuinely makes me so excited to pick up another book by her seeing that she's published a good amount. So... the vibes were immaculate. I loved the structure of this book! We have our main character called Ihunna, who's a wife, mother, daughter and sister who's dealing with weight issues. When it comes to issues concerning weight, espiecally when you're fat, I couldn't relate to that but I could empathise with her, as this was something that impacted her strongly. I considered her feelings, and at the beginning, you couldn't ignore the fact that she obsessively cared about her weight as she was trying to loss some. She cares about what people thinks of her and her moods can be changed quickly when it wasn't positive. She ate a lot when her feelings were down, perhaps that should've been something to dig deeper into. I understand that she was trying to keep going sizes down but I wish there was also a bigger focus on the mental health aspect to it as well because I found it problematic that whenever a problem would arise, her solutions would be to eat. That journey help me connect to her better and it definetely added a lot to the plot and her character. All in all, her weight loss journey, her frustrations and happy moments made me sympathise with that kind of struggle. There was a lot of themes/topics involved such as family issues, grief, sisterhoods, relationships, motherhood, weddings etc. I can't go too much into the specifics or I will spoil this book and I don't want to do that because I believe this book is an art that everybody should just experience for themselves. This novel warmed my heart! One of my favourites themes found in books are sisterhoods espiecally when they're Black and Africans. And of course, this book delivered that. I loved their banter, the support they show towards each others, the realness of having siblings and them being stubborn... I fear that siblings fights are never going out of style even in adulthood BUT the way they resolve it just shows how deep their love and bond is. I gobbled down all of the romances in this book, each had their own issues and their own happy ending. Also, the following deserves a mention but as a fellow Christian girly, to see that the author made the MC have a relationship with God, and seeing the small glimpses of her faith made me feel so happy and validated as it isn't something that I see in books and furthermore empowered me to pursuit Him. In conclusion, my final ratings is a 3 stars. This is one I would 100% recommend, I might look back at this book and not remember all of the details but I will never forget the relationships i've come to cherished and how overall it made me feel. It made me feel good, so good you need to pick this up right now.

I haven't finished it yet. However, it's so good.
If you're like me who digests information on different matters better in fiction form, then add this to what I call "Textbook Novels."

It talks about the "whys" and "hows" behind the "whats" of Plus-sized women. It's mostly a jolly but very enlightening read.
I love the fact that Ihunna has a loving husband.
What I have read so far is a novel blueprint of how to get your groove back physically, socially, and economically.
You will learn from it and in Adesuwa O'man Nwokedi style you will laugh.

The author's style of writing is very addictive.
The "so-what-happens-next" excitement.
Or should I say, the author is like one of your favourite restaurants.
Once you have a bite, you won't be able to stop until you get to the last bite.

I highly recommend it to all women. If you're Plus-sized, you learn how to get healthier. If you know women who are Plus-sized, you have a better understanding of them how to encourage them.

The remaining star is because I am still reading it.

Have you ever read a book that made you feel like you were a part of the story? That was how I felt while reading this book .

This book is a combination of well written plot and relatable themes like love, childhood trauma, forgiveness, the struggles of losing weights and second chances.
Ihunna the main character is a very fantastic narrator, who brings the story to life by not excluding any of the characters. Ihunna’s journey to weight loss was one of the things that stood out to me in this book. I loved how particularly relatable it felt, with its up and downs and not being a rosy journey, and I loved how Adesuwa portrayed it so realistically.

The sister’s healing process is another eye catching highlight in this book. Their emotional journey towards forgiveness is so beautifully written, and it’s a wonderful reminder that parents words and actions can have a lasting impact on their children.

The love stories in this book are captivating with unexpected twists and turns. I found myself cheering and rooting for different couples, and honestly, I loved how Adesuwa portrayed love so beautiful and refreshing.

Akwaugo us my favorite sister in this book, she’s the no nonsense type of person that everyone needs in their life. Her journey from a failed marriage to finding pure love again was so raw, real and inspiring, and I was honestly so happy for her.

Chidera is another character that I was actually giving the “side eyes”…. I actually went from judging her decisions to rooting for her and her partner🥰 ( this is the real definition of, nor let your boyfriend stop you from finding your husband )….. she went to a baby mama to a wifey and I was honestly happy for her, even though the love interest came in a weird way.

Overall, The Sisters is a great, beautiful, relatable and witty story that explores a lot of themes that are relevant to us all. It’s a story about family, carrying pains, learning to let go, and the courage it takes to forgive and eventually forget. If you’re looking for a book that will stay long with you even after reading, then this one is for.
