Some days, the sharks are the friendliest beasts in the water… AJ jumps at the chance of an intriguing off-shore dive trip, but when the Mexican cartel takes an interest in the sunken plane she's searching for, the adventure soon turns deadly.
The story begins during the 'Golden Age' of flying and quickly moves into current time where AJ and her friends, Reg and Thomas, use clues from 1958 to hunt down a wreck. They thought the technical dives were challenging, but the dangers in the ocean are nothing compared to the ruthless men that come speeding across the waters.
Secrets, treachery and dangerous dives to the depths of the Caribbean Sea will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat in Book Six of this fast-paced suspense series.
A USA Today bestselling author, Nicholas Harvey's life has been anything but ordinary. Race car driver, motorsports professional, adventure traveller, divemaster, and since 2020, a full-time novelist. Raised in England, Nick has dual UK and US citizenship and now lives nomadically wherever he and his amazing wife, Cheryl, choose to land for a few months. He is the author of the Nora Sommer Suspense, Kat Cromwell Mystery, and AJ Bailey Adventure series, as well as multiple collaborations.
Another amazing read from Nicholas Harvey! Using the COVID lock down in the timeline of this one took me by surprise, making it evident how quickly Nick put this one together, which makes it even more impressive.
Following along since the first book in the A.J. Bailey Adventure Series I was expecting things would be picking up where they left off in her personal life, but Nick's creative use of the circumstances once again leaves us, and her, hanging in that respect - well played!
The lock down also means there's little space in the story for the usual recreational portion of the adventures, so this one felt even more action-packed than usual. Arguably one of Harvey's best yet!
PLOT: Dive boat operator AJ Bailey is back, along with a character from a previous “situation”, searching for a missing airplane from 1958 on 60 Mile Bank which holds family treasure. Unfortunately, a series of events leads a drug cartel from Acapulco, Mexico to the same wreck at the same time. Once again, the race is on...
OPINION: I say it every time I read a Nick Harvey book... I LOVE THIS SERIES! I love how the author included current events like the COVID-19 quarantine to this story. The characters wore masks and even social distanced! As an ER doctor, I sure appreciated that!!
I loved the adventure - and dare I say, the technical diving included in this one might have made my heart race more than anything I’ve ever read before!
I love that, although I’ve been visiting and diving Grand Cayman my whole life, Harvey takes me places I never knew existed, such as 60 Mile Bank! Every time I read these novels, I’m transported to my favorite spot on earth...diving in Grand Cayman.
If you love a high stakes, suspenseful adventure, look no further than the AJ Bailey series!

OK, i am addicted to this series. Actually, i may be addicted to two series as this book really sets the stage and background for the friendship of AJ, this series, and Nora, the Nora Sommer series. I love how the author has crafted two stories here: a plane crash and the aftermath from the fifties, and the current day with Nora and Aj involved in looking for the wreck. Why, and who is involved are key elements of this story. The Grand Cayman setting and the non stop action will keep you going. Best part, the book has an ending that satisfies and ties up many loose ends. We know of course that there is more in store for Nora in her own series, but i encourage anyone beginning the Sommer series to begin here or the book Ghost Mountain where Nora was introduced. I think i have a full summer or Sommer of reading ahead of me!
"Queen of the Island Skies" An Exceptional Read. The Best So Far As I Read Through This Series!
"Queen of the Island Skies" is, in my opinion, the most thrilling of the first 6 books in the series, though I rated them all at 5-Stars...""Queen of the Island Skies" I would definitely award 8-Stars if I were allowed to. "Queen of the Island Skies" I would award 8-Stars in a heartbeat.
Obviously I HIGHLY Recommend this book, and yes, it reads easily as a "Standalone", as can all the previous (5) books in the series which I have read to date.
Mr. Harvey has continued to impress. Book 6 in the series is an enthralling adventure for AJ and the rest of her crew. If you like edge of your seat diving stories, this story will keep you wanting more. Harvey’s descriptions of the paraphernalia necessary for deep sea scuba diving makes you feel like you are there. I highly recommend this book.
I have read all of Nora’s adventures and started this one out of order. Now I have to go back and read the rest of the series. Nicholas Harvey spins a tale with the best of them. The characters are fun and very well written. This story had me in a boat, under water, and living the tale. Thanks for entertaining me for a few days!
Another wonderful read, difficult to put down and do something else. A J Bailey goes out on another diving story, with an entwined story from the 1950’s which catches up to the present. Nicholas Harvey has produced another great book.
What would you do if you were in my situation? Now that’s the question!! Nonstop action, thrilling roller coaster ride, I couldn’t put the book down!! I love the characters in the series and the creative adventures of the author. I hope Ridley gave them one each for all their experiences.
Wow getting to know more about Nora and Ridley and their ad centuries lots of action even during vivid murder mayhem and diamond diamonds lots of much ciao from Bobbie and George
