Running. It’s what I do. It’s what I’m good at. I run. From my job, my apartment, my boyfriend. Why? Because facing the consequences for my mistakes is far less appealing. Derek The stage is what I live for. Well, that and the constant buzz of the booze coursing through my veins. Life is too short to take it too seriously. I’m living proof that you can party like a rock star, live like a rock star, and have copious amounts of endless sex… like a rock star. That’s probably because I am a rock star, and I make sure I do my best to live up to the stereotype. That is, until Dita comes barreling into my life like an illegal chord that somehow completes the song. I might not have been expecting her, but I’m sure as f**k going to keep her. If I can stop her from running, which by the looks of her shoes, she’s already itching to do.
Trusting You, Trusting Me is the fourth and final book in the You and Me series.
Tylor Paige (she/her) is an Amazon Top 3 bestselling author of what her readers have lovingly labeled, whorror.
Tylor is proof that horror doesn’t have to be serious to be effective. It can be self-aware, playful, and at times romantic, while still telling a solid scary story. In blending her passions for both romance and horror she’s not only creating something that’s both risqué and bloody, she’s bridging the gap between the hopelessly romantic and the hopelessly haunted.
**A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**
When I saw that this author I was super excited about it. I Loved the other books that are in the You and Me series. I was even more excited when the editor sent me the book for free in exchange for an honest review. I couldn’t wait to start it. Granted it took me a few days because I had other books first in line.
Derek and Dita can now start their public relationship. They have support from most of the band members except for Adrian which is understandable based on Dita and his past relationship with each other. The story follows the ups and downs of their relationship. Their separation while Derek is on the road touring and how Dita comes up with a way to make it all work. To be brutally honest this book took a lot of effort for me to read. I started it and got 38% through it and had to put it down and come back to it several weeks later. When I did come back to it I powered through it and finished it in about three days. I really wanted to like it. I loved the other books in the series and had high hopes for this one.
Honestly, I think the reason I had such an issue was because it was Derek. I was never a huge fan of his in the other books. The other thing that really bothered me was the drama with Dita and her will she won’t she with Derek. It got to be a bit much. It was just drama-filled and it got tedious. I will say that I like some aspects of the book. I loved the interaction with the band together, they seem like a big family and their antics are hilarious. The issues that Dita has with her family make her relatable. Don’t get me wrong this book wasn’t horrible and once I got back to it, I did enjoy it more, it just wasn’t at the top of my list for the author’s other books. Take my review with a grain of salt and go read the book for yourself. I hear the author is writing another book and I am waiting excitedly for it to come out!
Out of this whole series trusting you trusting me is by far my favorite. Tylor Paige you succeeded in making Derek likeable. I love how you make us readers feel like we personally know these characters. Like we are right there beside them. Laughing with them, crying with them. And even getting angry with them. Like we all have been friends for years. Nicely done. I cant wait to read about the kids next.
This was a good addition to the series but honestly wanted more. Not quite as exciting or drama filled as the other three sorry. Loved all the characters. I do recommend this book and series Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
