Andy didn’t understand the romance of Paris until he kissed a stranger in a rainstorm.
Then he followed the man home, hoping for a taste of the adventure of which he’d been so desperately searching. He got more than he bargained for, starting with a shared bottle of wine in a rented flat and ending with heartbreak in Bordeaux hotel.
Leonidas Filo had been content to travel and wander, never wanting to settle—whether it was down or for less. The handsome American he spied on the street was only meant to be a moment of fun, but he couldn’t deny how right it felt to keep pushing his limits with Andy Motel.
After months of separation, the two men who are still barely more than strangers find themselves together again, but this time in Cherry Creek. Leonidas is ready to offer everything he can, but Andy needs to find a way to turn a collection of moments into a lifetime of love.
With over two dozen published romances to her name, Kate Hawthorne has built a recognizable brand around telling emotional stories that pack a figurative (and sometimes literal) punch.
Existing on a steady diet of wine and coffee, Kate spends her days dreaming up angsty stories full of heat, kink, and heart. Kate now lives in Louisville, where she writes romance, reads romance, and hides from the humidity.
This is Andy's story.... the last story of the five Motel brothers. He has always been an intriguing, but somewhat standoffish character. He was the only brother who took the money and ran. The other four, agreed to their father’s stipulation that he had made in his will, that in order to collect their share of the money they had to live and work at the hotel, they didn't know he owned, in Cherry Creek, Colorado, for an entire year.
While the other brothers have been big parts each other’s stories, Andy has remained fairly much off the page for most of the series. He's been traveling Europe, and we find him in Paris when the story opens...where he meets Leonidas, who lives in France but has been doing a walking tour of Europe.
The two guys come together in an almost unbelievable, passionate rush. It seemed that they can’t get enough of each other...there's hookups in the rain, pottery making, and bottles of wine in a Parisian Garden. You can feel the urgency the men feel for each other, but also a sense of this being only a temporary break from their travels...and I quickly got the ideas that their travel wasn't going to be together. This was confirmed when both men were determined to finish their own journeys, and neither was willing to compromise to stay together...so they know this is it for them. Once they separate, they realize it isn’t as easy as they thought. The connection is real, and something neither man is ready to lose. Their solution is far from traditional or expected.
Honestly, this wasn't my favorite of the series...a series that I have given 5 stars to throughout. The story felt a bit "out of sorts" for lack of a better description...I had trouble at times making the guy's connection believable. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting the little town of Cherry Creek and getting to know the Motel Brothers and the other quirky residents. Oh, and these books should be read in order.
I think at this point, I'm just kind of over the repetitiveness of the Motel brothers power exchange kinks. Sure, there's a bit of variety in how those power exchanges manifest... sometimes a Motel will top, sometimes they will bottom, sometimes they are versatile, sometimes they are dominant and sometimes they are submissive. There's a lot of kinks out there, and some of them did play second fiddle in these books, but I would have liked to see a little more variety.
Now, as for Andy and Leonidas... it's insta-love. Literally, love at first sight. No thanks.
I also (and this is coming from an aromantic misanthrope who doesn't want to spend any amount of time with anyone 99% of the time) don't under coordinating your schedules in a way that your travels leapfrog one another to minimize the time spent together. I get that Leonidas is a bit nomadic, but I don't understand traveling halfway around the world to send your lover off on a vacation while you stay behind.
Once more, too much sex. And I actually found the scenes in this book to be the least inspired of the bunch. I skimmed over most of them. In fact, I skimmed over a lot of this book.
And god, do I hate the nicknames.
I am also confused by Leonidas saying he knelt for one woman, while later on also saying it had only ever been men for me. But, Theo did go from walking him to Ronan's to later on having driven him.... so I'm just going to chalk that up to an editing inconsistency.
Limitless is the fifth book in Kate Hawthorne’s Room for Love series, returning us to the small town of Cherry Creek, Colorado (also the site of E.M. Lindsey’s On the Market series). I’m not sure if this fully wraps up Hawthorne’s part of the shared world, but this story does feature the final of the five Motel brothers. Andy has always been an intriguing character, as he is the one brother who did not take their father’s deal for the full inheritance in exchange for living and working Cherry Creek for the year. So while the other brothers have been mainstays in each other’s stories, Andy has remained off page for a lot of the series. So I was really eager to get to know him in this book, and I found him and Leonidas to both be really interesting characters.
The first part of this story has a different tone to the other books, and there is almost a dreamy, languid feel that works very well. It focuses on Leonidas and Andy meeting in France and the early part of their relationship. The men seem to almost exist out of time, to be having this moment where they come together in a passionate rush, before they return to their regular lives. They can’t get enough of each other, and it is all hookups in the rain, and hot Ghost-like pottery making, and bottles of wine in a Parisian garden.
Well, this was kinda cute at times, but I mainly skimmed. A bummer, since I was hoping Andy's story would win me over unexpectedly like Brad's did, but no joy. I don't think I'm a fan of the we-met-on-holiday trope; the long-distance, and the forced separation it entails, always frustrates me (and bores me quite a bit too: too much sight-seeing, not enough plot).
I wasn't a big fan of either protagonists: Andy remains a huge mystery, and Leonidas was the male book version of the manic pixie dream girl (my most despised character stereotype ever), and I also couldn't relate to either one of them. You're both rich, you're traveling around the globe, you're not working, you have big, healthy loving families...how am I supposed to relate to them being all moody and restless, and being dicks to their respective families, just for the vibes? *shakes head*
Anyway. I probably should have skipped this, but I wanted to see more of the Motel brothers' and their group interactions. There isn't a huge amount of that unfortunately, but we do get a few memorable scenes with them: as always Cherry Creek's wacky and extremely queer population stole my heart, and I'm already dreading the day I'll be done with this series.
I didn't love this, but I do love this series, and I love Kate Hawthorne's way with words (and with kink!)
This book was sweet with lovely characters and adorable romantic scenes. The erotica was really good too, but come on, we're talking about Kate Hawthorne, the queen of erotic scenes.
I loved Andy and Leonidas, their personality was really great and their relationship was super unique and awesome. Loved the whole traveling thing and that the story took place in France (at the beginning) - but I'm sad Andy didn't liked Paris, I looooove Paris! Loved the way they met and began slowly fall for each other.
The pottery scenes was good, but I thought it would be a bit longer and hotter. But anyway, they were sweet in every scene. But my favorite: paint sex! It's always so good.
They were really hot for each other and I loved their self discovery that how strong they both feel, and how easily they can fall in love. Those scenes were really good, where you can see that they want forever but know that their time has an ending somwhere on the road.
And this quote right here is what my favorite was in the book. Andy had asked Leonidas this question two times, but for the second time it had deeper meaning. This little quote tells everything about this book - why are Andy/Leonidas on places they shouldn't be? Because the other one is there, and that is exactly where they want to be.
"Why are you here?" Andy snapped. He held his hands up and took a step backward toward the wall. "Because you're here."
This book is the last in the series, but it was my first read - but after I met the other characters, I'm really curious about their stories too! Theo was a cutie!
The ending was really, really sweet. I was afraid of their HEA, I couldn't picture how they could work, because both wanted to travel and didn't wanted to stay in one place forever. But holymoly, Kate wrote an amazing ending for them and how well they worked! Phew! Some hot scene at the end!
I loved reading this book. It was a totally perfect summer read, where you can forget all your probleme and be with characters in different countries and see how they fall in love.
I recommend this book. If you read and love this series, the probably you hardly can't wait to put your hands on Andy and Leonidas, but if you're new to the series or to the author, this is a perfect book for you if you're looking for a good romance.
I'll admit that I struggled with the first half of this book. I've been looking forward to Andy's story for a long time, and when his romance didn't look like what I was expecting it really threw me off.
Andy's Leo is a wanderer, someone who has an itch to travel, to explore and move and never be anchored to a single place. And that's something I don't relate to. Most of the time when I read Kate's books I'm in love with all the main characters from the start, but Leo didn't make sense to me for a long time. I read about how he and Andy met, the way they immediately connected even if they weren't ready to admit it, and I thought I knew how their story would play out. But then it didn't. And I felt like I was right there with Andy, confused and heartbroken and not understanding why Leo would want to walk away from something so obviously special. I almost put the book down then, but I'm glad I didn't because I would have missed out on Leo's sweet submission and genuine affection for Andy.
I like to think I've read books about a wide variety of relationships, but I've never read a story like this. I've never questioned my inherent expectation that people in love must always travel and live together. Kate has once again opened my mind to an entirely difference kind of love story, and I'm on board with it. It took me some time to understand, but once I did my heart was so full of happiness for Andy and Leo. Their happily-ever-after wasn't what I was imagining, but it's perfect for who these men are.
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This was different than I was expecting. Just a different take on what makes people happy and how important being happy for yourself is before you can truly love someone else and give them your heart. It opened my eyes to a new perspective on love and happiness and I loved that! This was written with Kate Hawthorne's usual finesse and is a wonderful additon to this series I have come to love. I was so happy Andy found the happiness he deserved!
As unconventional love stories go Andy and Leonidas are a beautiful reminder that things don’t always have to be what you expect. They are also a fantastic final addition to the Motel brothers/Cherry Creek series about how love comes about in so many different ways.
‘Limitless’ was totally different than what I was expecting, but so much more than I could have imagined. I’ve never quite read a love story like this one, and honestly, I should have expected that from Hawthorne. The first part of this book was different from the other books, though it could relate a little to Cameron's story as it doesn’t start in Cherry Creek. Andy has been the brother that's been the most elusive, as he’s the one who took the inheritance and ran away to travel the world, while the other Motel brothers decided to go to Cherry Creek. Yet, according to his brothers, ever since he returned from his travels he had been a completely changed man; a little morose. Well, from tidbits picked up in previous books in the series, one would soon learn that Andy was this way because of a man he met in his travels. One he wouldn’t talk about...
So, ‘Limitless’ begins a little ways back in the series timeline, so that we as readers can experience what happened when Andy met Leonidas. Ironically these two souls who cross each other's paths in Paris, have very similar backgrounds; both are running away from their legacies (hotel owners) and families, even though they love the latter dearly. It seems they have both been called to travel and as a reader who related to both these men in a lot of ways, it was interesting to see these two, who just complement each other's soul perfectly, fall in love in a time in which most authors would never think to set a love story. Because you see they’re both wandering, but in different directions with no real reason to meet in the middle.
However, the wanderlust doesn’t stop either of them from feeling the impact the other has on their life, and between alleyways in Paris, hotels in Bordeaux, spiritual pilgrimages, and returning home...neither one is far from the others thoughts. They truly can’t get enough of each other and when they meet back up they don’t even really fight the challenges; they’re secondary to what these men can be for one another. So, once Andy and Leonidas realize they are each other’s true home the roadblocks seem to fade away and we all get to experience how two people make it work while still being true to themselves. It was truly a unique read and so very much Hawthorne’s one of a kind style.
‘Limitless’ was such a beautiful wrap up to the Motel brother’s stories in Cherry Creek. These stories have shown me as a reader, so many different ways one finds their someone even in the same wonderful and small town of Cherry Creek!
I have loved every minute and can’t wait to experience the brother’s stories again in the future!
Andy finds his HEA with a stranger who goes with the flow without really settling down in one place. Yet Leonidas takes a chance on Andy, and they settle on a relationship that is not the traditional love story, but something that works for them. An interesting finale to the series.
The previous book in this series made me more interested in Andy’s character than in the actual love story going on. Reading the events from Andy’s perspective did not disappoint, as the last Motel brother comes home to Cherry Creek. But unlike his siblings, he doesn’t find love in the tiny town—he finds it across the globe in Paris. Andy and Leonidas crash together in a way that has both men questioning the difference between love and lust, and I applauded Leonidas’ strength in following Andy to Cherry Creek to find out which one existed between the two men.
So much about this book does not follow the traditional romance arc, which is probably another reason I enjoyed it so much. All of the “dark moments” happen earlier in the novel, as Andy and Leonidas can’t figure out how to reconcile what they want from each other with the independence they still crave in their own lives. The second half of the book covers the two men exploring what they have together and figuring out how to have the best of both worlds. The solution is far from traditional or expected, but I enjoyed it all the more for that. I will always support the notion that two people can be partners without losing their personal goals, desires, or senses of self.
This book wraps up another series set in wonderful Cherry Creek, and events within start to overlap with stories from the On the Market series. I’m sad that I only have one more novella with these characters to devour, but I’m thrilled that I still have plenty of books by this wonderful author to enjoy.
Oh Kate how you've done it again! Kate Hawthorne is a genius with her words. All of the books in this Cherry Creek series were phenomenal, but I have to say this is probably my favorite. I know I've probably said that about at least one of the others, but I mean it this time. The plot and flow of the story were fluid and you could just feel for Andy as he went on his journey.
Limitless is Andy and Leonidas' story. Andy breaks up with his boyfriend and leaves home after opting out of the hotel deal his father had set up in his will. He decided to take the money and tour Europe. Along the way, he meets Leonidas and although Andy isn't sure at first about this gorgeous Greek man, the chemistry they share is out of this world. The thing is Leonidas doesn't do relationships and he only lives in the moment. After they've spent some time together and it is obvious to Andy that he can't stay with Leonidas because he doesn't want to get hurt, he leaves him and moves on. That is until Leonidas shows up at his hotel in Bordeaux. Leonidas has developed feelings just as much as Andy, but he still has a journey he wants to follow and finish. Ultimately, after Andy returns back to Cherry Creek and he reconnects with his family, Andy must decide how he wants to proceed with his life. As he is getting comfortable, he receives a visit from a certain someone he never thought he would see again and things begin to change. I don't want to give any more than that away because this is only the real beginning of their journey.
This is one of those books that once you start reading you don't want to stop. Their journey is a special one and the changes you see for each character are amazing. If you haven't read this series, I would definitely recommend you read it from the first book. Every book in this series and the characters you meet along the way will enthrall you and make you feel a part of the family.
I received, read, and reviewed this book for the author.

Andy, the most mysterious of the Motel brothers, is lost. In an attempt to find himself, he chose a different path from his brothers and set off to travel the world for a year. His last stops in Paris & Bordeaux led to more than he bargained for when he met Leonidas. It was love at first sight but neither of them are prepared for something like that or the idea of being tied down so they resist. Leo is a free spirit that just wants to try a bit of everything. He’s more than happy on his knees for Andy’s early navigations with dominance but still wants his freedom to explore. These beautiful men broke my heart a couple times as they struggled to find themselves and a way forward together. But in the end they reached a balance that I haven’t seen yet in my romance reading... they are perfectly together in their separateness. They found a home in each other, not a place. It’s with this realization that they discover that they can still have their independence AND have someone to come home to after a long journey.
I’ve loved every second spent in Cherry Creek, it’s hard seeing that time left getting shorter and shorter. Each of the Motel brothers has had a completely unique journey and needs in a partner. It’s been an absolute joy to read along as they found their way to love and happiness. This series will definitely be reread many, many times.
This was a srory about passion and trust as the two men learnt about their own brand of love and what that meant for then. I loved the different approaches of the family. Leo's sisters both of which were typical big sisters. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like D!s dynamic.
This has been such a great series. I was excited to see Andy, the final Motel brother, find a love of his own. Leonidas and Andy were incredibly sexy together, though I worried about their chances of finding an HEA for a big part of the book. Once they figured things out, I was completely on board with their non-traditional but loving relationship. I enjoyed seeing the other couples from the series, but I was wrapped up with Andy and Leonidas. I loved the beanie that meant so much to each of them, as Andy took it over from Leonidas. Andy's dominance over Leonidas was insanely sexy. And I loved the love the men shared, recognizing that they didn't have to always be together physically to still be together. These men truly became each other's home, and I was so happy to go along for the ride.
I love Cherry Creek and the Motel brothers. In this book, Andy is the brother who decided not to respond to his father's option in his will to live in their hotel for a year, opting instead to travel the world. When visiting Paris, he meets Leonidis, a man from Greece. Their attraction is immediate and off-the-charts, but both men are firmly committed to being free and traveling alone. Leonidis, especially, has a lifelong dream to make a month's pilgrimage in Spain. The two men go their separate ways, but something keeps pulling them back together. Is it lust or maybe the beginning of love? This book has a lot of unexpected, non-traditional relationship twists that make the story even better. It's great to finally know more about brother Andy and to revisit the other friends and family of Cherry Creek.
To say getting through the series was difficult would be accurate. This is mostly because of book 4 (go read that review if you want...I won't repeat myself). I will say that I enjoyed this book more than book 4. It was different from the rest because half the book did not take place in the small town of Cherry Creek but rather in other countries like France and Greece. This for sure added to the excitement and made it easier to read. I would say that I am glad I am done with this series, but I will try to finish the sister series called On the Market, it is written by a different author and so far has been easier to get through. In all this wasn't a bad book but I think I was just tired of these brothers by the end.
This novel was, in my opinion, the best in the series. I felt a lot of the emotions alongside the characters, and the beautiful style that Kate Hawthorne has, made me feel like I was right there with Andy and Leonidas. Their individual journeys were laid out for us and the way they found their paths both mentally and physically, lead me on a roller coaster of emotions that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved Leonidas' family and I really wished I could taste his mama's cooking. Overall a fantastic novel.
What the fuck is up with Andy and Leonidas?! I do not get why they like each other. I get why they have sex with each other and do not understand anything past that. Andy is way too trusting after how Leonidas behaved in France.
Andy is back up after being gone for a year and it's sad because his family members have changed and he doesn't know how he fits in anymore and the boy he liked didn’t come home with him. Brad yells at Andy and it's so perfect and warranted.
I think that this book is a perfect summer read and a perfect travel novel. I felt like I was traveling around the world with the main characters and it was a great feeling, I really miss traveling. Their story and their chemistry was amazing, I had no problem connecting with them and I loved them both. Their love story was unique but it worked for them and their happy ending warmed my heart. Another 5 star read for me!
Great add to the series. Andy and Leonidas are a instant attraction that leads into more then they ever dreamed it would. I love a couple who have intense chemistry who jump right in; then later discovering all new things about themselves. Great characters, emotions everywhere and a fantastic plot that weaves in with this series. I loved everything about it. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
Limitless is the fifth book in the Room for Love series by Kate Hawthorne. Leonidas and Andy are steamy together, a little dash of dom play sets that connection to flaming hot. They also have the sweet factor, its heart not just heat. Their story was entertaining and wonderfully written. The supporting characters were as fun as usual as well. I really love how this series played out.
I love this series and I really enjoyed the love story of Andy and Leonidas. This book has a slightly different feel than the others and starts with Andy meeting Leonidas in Paris. I thought the dynamic of the couple was actually pretty unique. Both men are free spirits, nomadic but there is something that keeps drawing them back to one another. This is a great way to round off the Motel brothers stories. Well worth a read.
The best was saved for last in this case! Loved all the Motel brothers, but Andy shot the ball out of the park ten times! The creations of both characters here were pure magic right from the start and delving into their story was pure pleasure! So many feels, all the angst and all the fireworks. Must read!
I’m sad to see this series come to a close but alas, that’s the way it goes. This one has a different feel than the others, mainly because much of the story takes place outside of Cherry Creek. It’s a nice change of pace. Great chemistry between the characters and lovely to see the other citizens of Cherry Creek in the background.
I absolutely LOVED this marvelous, grab-you-by-the-feels, amazing, snarky, charming, delightful, poignant, powerful, smoking hot, engaging, endearing, and totally awesome addition to such an interesting series. I adored Andy and Leonidas, and watching them get their HEA ending was SO satisfying. I recommend getting this gem immediately.
It makes me so sad that the Motel brothers' stories have all been told. But it also makes me so happy that they've all found love. Leonidas and Andy have the type of love that poetry and music and plays and entire wars have been written and agonized over. I love them, and I love their love.
The elusive Andy finally gets his story and it’s painful to read. There was no flow to this story, no chemistry between the characters and no romance. It was so hard to read because the entire story and dialogue felt stilted and contrived. Such a disappointing way to finish a series.
