In 1845, a fur trader from the Rocky Mountains is hired by an English Lord as a hunting guide. Their venture is successful, but attracts the attention of a band of angry Indians. The Lord’s daughter and her governess are kidnapped and the mountain man sets off to save them. The Tales of Wyoming are a collection of interconnected short stories of the Old West. Each story is a standalone adventure. A Mountain Man builds upon the characters and relationships in A Good Man and A Good Woman.
1845 and an English household decide to hire someone to help them to traverse the mountains and trails as they seek out the wild animals of the local region so that they can hunt those they've not as yet had the chance to stalk. The trails are well known as being difficult to traverse thanks to the dangers of the animals in the area and the Indians who are located throughout the region.
A well written book that has a story which works well and was very enjoyable.
I enjoyed the story but found it to be a distraction from the characters of Morgan and Abigail. Not that it was at all a bad read, just found the off shoot from main story line less enjoyable.
