It starts like any other Monday for Ty Christianson. Fifty laps in his pool, a suave suit, a chat with his mum on the way to his office, dodging countless calls from women, and his faithful yet cynical assistant waiting for him with a coffee. Then a meeting with his business partner and life-long friend Sal upends everything. Sal’s hired a new assistant without so much as consulting Ty. That’s a cardinal sin in their world, but it’s the least of Ty’s worries. Sal hasn’t just hired a new personal assistant, he’s hired an absolute goddess—and she’s off-limits to Ty.
Lainey Summer drives Ty crazy with her savage beauty, her effortless sexiness, and her unfathomable veneer. She plays her cards way too close to her chest, and doesn’t that just make her more enticing?
Unlucky for Lainey, Ty’s notoriously irresistible.
Unlucky for Ty, Lainey can resist him.
Or can she?
As Ty sets on a mission to break Lainey, an intended conquest becomes a fixation. And in the process, he’s thrown into perfect chaos.

I wasn’t sure what to expect by this book. First of all I must admit that Jodi Ellen Malpas is one of my favorite authors and she wrote my second favorite book series of all time (This Man), so I am very biased toward her books.
First of all I have read the reviews about Ty’s whoreish ways but she wrote from the man’s point of view (which I give her kudos for because I cannot even begin to crack how men think). One thing I do know is that men are usually thinking about sex so I could see Ty’s thought processes was right on point.
What’s the saying....the bigger they are the harder they fall? This is Ty. He has an ego beyond all egos and is very jaded especially about falling in love but once he felt the “ping” he lost his mind. It was funny to watch him fall.
This book is not for everyone but if you do read it be forewarned that you will be privy to the perverted mind of the male species.
I am shocked everyone, just shocked this came from the author! My review is pretty long and it MAY CONTAIN A SMALL TINY AMOUNT OF SPOILER ALERT, but it explains why this is a 3.5 STARS I truly am left speechless, and not in a good way. I love Jodi's book and am I die hard fan, I am, but this was not my cup of tea, through and through -> CLICK HERE FOR FULL REVIEW & MORE
WOW.... Never thought I'd see this day..I never thought I'd see the day where I force myself to finish a book written by JEM. Gosh..I would have DNF-ed this book a long time ago if it wasn't written by JEM. Where do I begin? Let me give it to you straight... I HATED the characters. Lainey ...uck! That is the girl I'm suppose to support?! I refuse to believe that that girl is the herione! I refuse to believe it! She is annoying, indecisive and bitter to the point where is really unattractive. Tyler.. this entire book was written from his POV and I was bored out of my mind. If this is how men think..I shudder.
Perfect Chaos was horrible. I have never said that about a book and it literally pains me to say that and as I write this, I am wondering whether I should even be writting this but this book wasn't up to the standards I am use to when it comes to a Jodi Ellen Malpas book. Maybe this is the reason why it was a surprise release 🤷
When the book (unfortunately many do) start with him in bed with some girl that he can’t remember who she is. I stop reading right away. I’m so over this. Find some other way of opening a book. Never tried this author before and now I know why. Nothing original.
Nothing I would have expected from this author! I was totally annoyed and simply could not connect on any level -- yet I couldn't stop reading. It just had to get better, right? WROOOONG! It progressively got worse. A total mess from start to finish. I detested (I'm trying not to use the word "hate") both main characters. I detested their personalities and their $hitty attitudes towards each other and other connections as well. He's a complete jerkwad. She's just . . . I can't even think of how I would describe her. I don't even want to remember their names. Yeah, this was a struggle to finish. I probably would have been better off with a DNF . . . but I'm not a quitter so I trudged on. Bad decision on my part.
Come on, Jodi -- you can do better -- much better.
Firstly, I really like Jodi Ellen's writing but this book was just a no no for me. Tyler was an awesome hero but he made some very bad decision but I could also understand his internal struggle as his pov is extremely well written and you can empathize with him on many occasions. I hated Lainey. She was annoying, indecisive and just too much of a bitter character to read. Maybe if we could have been given few chapters from her perspective we could've understood her better. In the last few chapters it is revealed why she acted the way she acted but the reason wasn't good enough for me. She didn't deserve Tyler at all!
I feel very disappointed that one of my favorite author wrote a book like this but I hope there will be more good books coming from her in the near future🙃.
So I can see why a lot of people hated this one. Because an entire book told from the point of view of a raging manwhore? It has the potential to turn people off.
Not me though. Nope. I kinda loved all the tongue-in-cheek ego-centricity. There was a sweet, vulnerable edge to Tyler's inner thoughts that I found touching, despite their highly inappropriate, sexist and self-absorbed nature.😂 And talk about mummy and daddy issues. If Tyler were a real person, he'd keep a therapist rolling in cash for years.
But gah, do I ever love flawed characters! And both Tyler and Laney were FLAWED. And perfect for each other. I really appreciated how JEM paired Tyler with his female equivalent.
And that last 15-20%? How did I not see that coming?!! Fabulous stuff! I rarely get blindsided by a book.
I have to round down though. The story was just TOO long. Not even listening to Shane East narrate for 14+ hours was enough to round up; however, I have penned JEM into my must read column in permanent ink.😍😍
Both characters are horrible, I have no idea why this would seem like a good storyline, but basically : manwhore falls for woman at work, then the story gets boring , then it turns out she’s on a revenge mission from her cheating-ex-husband and that to get that revenge she is being paid by other women to prove they are being cheated on.Then manwhore finds out, she learns how to swim to prove her love for him and HEA. Best thing about this book ? I learned a new word, had no idea what a honeytrap was before 🤷🏻♀️
I was kinda here for the premise… manwhore manwhores til he lays eyes on the h and then he can no longer perform. He’s obsessed. This didn’t work for me because it’s only his POV and he thinks the same thing over and over. Boring.

Jodi is an automatic buy for me I love her books & don't think I've ever given one less than 4/5 stars but I literally hated this story.
I liked Ty at the beginning I thought it was quite funny that he couldn't have the woman he wanted but I just couldn't stand Lainey, I'm not sure if it was because we only got his POV or that she just wasn't likeable, either way my least favourite heroine ever!
I didn't enjoy the "honey trap" twist it just made it feel less of a romance & all a disconnected jumble of pointless chapters.
I disliked the ending by which time I was just glad it was over.

This book has left me with a major book hangover... simply because I WANT MORE TY. Ty Christianson has slipped his way into my top five book boyfriends, and I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact I'm done and there isn't more. I loved Perfect Chaos... my number one read so far for 2020.
This isn't going to be a totally in-depth review, just why I gave this 2 generous stars. First, I love 99% of what Malpas writes so this pains me. Ty was kind of a carbon copy of Jesse from This Man. While I understand it might be tempting to repeat such a massively, massively popular character, Jesse was one of a kind. The whole manwhore who gets blackout drunk and punches out windows isn't attractive over and over.
My biggest complaints are about Lainey, the whore-goddess. Slut-shaming is dumb and repulsive and even as Malpas has Ty swearing he doesn't do it, he (and other characters) does, repeatedly. The usual misunderstanding that comes between Ty and Lainey is...not usual. It's massive and not something as easily recovered from as she writes it. I don't want to read about this much deception in a romance. Honestly, I didn't even like Lainey by the end; Ty was way too good for her, not something I could imagine thinking at the beginning of the book.
I'm just going to try to forget about this one and hope her next book is back on track.
Wow!! WTF is going on with all the good Authors. It's like they have this great book turn it into all kids of languages and then the next release is a complete catastrophe. I think this is her worst book after all the bad one's she's written this tops the cake. I wanted to really like it unfortunately as her title says it is was total chaos. Unfortunately I'm not going to be reading any of her work anymore. Once she gets her wits together as she says I may come back until then good luck spending your hard earn dollars on such horrific work.
made it over the halfway point but I can't keep going these two are both awful and I can't find anything that will keep me reading/listening but the audiobook narrator is great btw
“I might be your perfect chaos but you’re my perfect calm.”
Ty and Lainey meet in the neighborhood bar before she starts working for his partner at their company. He finally feels the "ping" his Dad told him about that he would get when he meets the one.
The problem is there is a non fraternization policy at work and they are both players...or so it seems. It definitely makes for a LOT of drama.
The book is told only in Ty's POV...and I hate that. There are just too many parts left out when we don't get both sides of the story.
However, what I loved ~as always~ is when the hero is head over heels for the heroine. The funny thing is that Ty is pretty clueless. He has a hard time dealing with his feelings and has a hard time accepting what they could be.
I was surprised at all the not good reviews. I didn't really see much besides people not liking the characters. I do think reading about Ty being with other women was a bit too much...I could have done without the details.
Also, there is no epilogue but even with all that I really enjoyed the story especially all the angst.
This was terrible. Slow, repetitive and tedious with a misogynistic H who loved himself, thought nothing of commenting on his PAs tits and was convinced he was god’s gift to women. He kept reminding me of Alan Partridge who is also socially awkward and deluded. It was set in an office workplace where the males openly ogled the women. Perhaps I’ve let a sheltered life but I’ve never worked in any office where leering after others would be condoned.
I love an alpha male but this H was a dick. Horrible.
This is a surprise to me, my rating. I typically adore JEM and her writing- but this one, I just didn’t connect to it AT ALL. Tyler was a cliche and not a good one, Lainey was cagey and had no redeeming qualities other than her beauty. There was virtually no backstory or depth to either character and the jokes with Gina are all inappropriate given this #metoo era. I’m all for wild romance and crazy characters, but JEM fell flat with this one.
It is not my favorite book by Jodi Ellen Malpas - but she gets "extra brownie points" for this book as it is (in my opinion) very different from her normal plot style. Ty was ... (not even sure how to describe him but I like her male characters more dominant / alpha) and Lainey is absolutely not my type of JEM woman But as I said - Jodi gets extra points for throwing out this unusual book as a surprise reveal - but somehow I kind of understand why she was holding onto it for a while until now ... because it is unusual and very different ...
So we have been spoilt with another Jem alpha to fall in love with! Ty Christianson, what can I tell you about him, total playboy, completely cocky, loves himself.....and totally blinking adorable! I was lucky to read Ty's story last summer and he definitely makes an impact and I can finally write a review lol #bigsecret
Told completely in his POV which is a nice change, so you hear all his thoughts and go through this journey completely with him. Lainey is a mystery, so poor Ty is completely knocked for six when he meets her.
Again with all Jodi books, the secondary characters are equally as brilliant as the main two characters. I particularly loved Ty's relationship and banter with his PA, so funny in parts. Also his relationship with his mum is pretty special.
Jem fans or new fans will absolutely love this book, another winner from Queen Jem 👑
Tyler Christianson. A player that has been hurt previously and hides behind the walls that he put around himself. Enter Lainey. From the off these two have chemistry. The sheer angst of waiting to see what would happen with these two had me shouting at the pages. Will they? Won’t they? Please can they now? Come on Ty, come on Lainey, get it together! Just a few things I said out loud whilst reading! I adored Tyler. It didn’t matter that he was a player, the way his character has been written makes you instantly warm to his cheeky persona. I was unsure about Lainey. Her actions, the various sightings, I couldn’t make my mind up about her. I will say that I am happy that Ty got his HEA. I would have liked to learn a little more about Lainey’s past. It was touched upon, discussed a little, but I would be intrigued to read more, to help get more of a sense of her character.
I love JEM but this one was a bit cheesy for me. My eyes never stopped rolling till the end and now I have a headache. Hero is better than the heroine. I hate when that happens.
DNF at 91% it pains me too leave a book unfinished but I just couldn't continue reading this one minute longer. I'm shocked that this is by an author that I have loved stories from in the past as I couldn't find anything I liked about this book definitely not for me
