Gifted Fae Academy: The Complete Collection

Rate this book
At Gifted Fae Academy, a touch could shatter your bones and a kiss could kill you.

In a world where 80% of the population is gifted with touch magic, it’s best to keep your hands-- and your lips-- to yourself.

Childhood friends Reina and Kaito share a dream of one day becoming Fae, but when one of them unlocks a gift and the other doesn’t, it’s not long before they’re enemies. The gap only grows as one is pulled to the world’s top Fae Academy and the other drawn into the ugly underbelly of the city by darker forces.

When the mysterious Fae murders move inside the walls of the Academy, Reina and Kaito are forced to choose where their loyalties lie. But the lines between good and evil are as blurred as the one between love and hate.

Their lives and the fate of the Fae all rest on their ability to work together.

This series was an emotional, romantic, mystery filled rollercoaster! Once you get on the ride in the first installment, you're left feeling angry with Kai and Reina, yet sucked into what you believe to be an unreasonable and unreciprocal love story. There's something underlying there that urges you to continue reading even though you're ready to kick Kai's butt! You're rewarded by choosing Reina as the underdog and rejoice with her as her dreams come true and when the end comes, you're left at the same apex as when you've survived the first major plummet from a rollercoaster. Exhilarated, yet cautious as the ride continues.

The second installment dims your hatred of Kai as he redeems himself and you even find yourself routing for him. Dude has been dealt a raw deal and like many of us, simply tried to do the best with what he was given. You LOVE how Reina, who started as the least of them, excels to become the best of them, exhibiting the TRUE nature of what a Fae should be and even begins to heal some parts of her most idolized Fae.

By the third installment, you're absolutely on fire as you fight for Kai and Reina to succeed! You have some pity on Calvin considering his gift and how it alienates him but dude needs to be taught a serious lesson. By the end of the book you're screaming and chanting as Reina becomes the woman we all have cheered her to become. You find yourself like an excited aunt or cousin at a football game cheering her to touchdown.

Reina exemplifies the best of all of us!

“There is no good or evil, just those in power and those against it.”

I BINGED this series haaaard. 😫🤌🏻 These books were SO addictive and gave huge 𝑴𝒚 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒂 vibes with the academic atmosphere of 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔. A story about elite Fae, fighting evil with touch-activated powers and two young Serfs (non-magic humans) who eventually harness incredible gifts to save the world and their love?? GIVE ME!! 😍

𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒂 and 𝑲𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒐 were such a great duo. How their relationship transforms over 3 books is so satisfying. Reina is the underdog who always sees the good in others, while Kaito has darkness inside of him but fights to be everything Reina needs, even if it means hurting her to keep her safe. The friends to rivals to lovers relationship was too good. 👌🏻

Things had been so turbulent that I never had time to truly consider my feelings. When did they begin to change? The shift between hate and love was but a whisper—a line in the sand that, with one gentle wave, was gone.

“Please just…” She touched my face as a quick breath escaped, “let me save you this time.”

I smiled. “Can’t you see you already have?”

Be prepared for this to be your guilty pleasure series! You get all of the magic and romance, plus MHA-style action, with some 𝑫𝒆𝒌𝒖, 𝑼𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒌𝒂, 𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝑴𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒌𝒊-𝒕𝒚𝒑𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔. And I love that you get more of the why behind their thoughts and actions (for both Kai and Reina) with the dual POV chapters. Plus, we get some freaking cool side characters! Yemoja Roux and Briara were my faves. 💕

(4.5⭐s for the series)

I’m glad I gave it a chance

Wow! This book series was AMAZING. I may be slightly ashamed to admit that normally I go for wildly erotic paranormal romance books. However, I came across an ad for this book. Seeing as it was about a younger group of individuals, I was sure that it wouldn’t be as erotic. I almost turned away from it but decided to give it a few chapters. I’m so glad I did! Not only was the storyline completely captivating, the budding romances were amazing. The love scenes were vivid and definitely filled my cup for erotic lol. Twists and turns and tearful moments. As an avid paranormal romance reader, I am SO IMPRESSED. I felt I knew each character individually even if they were not MAIN characters. Descriptions of people, buildings and nature. I felt like I was there with them. A great read!

Gifted Fae Academy five
This boxset is filled with lots of action~ the love between Reina and Kai is legendary. Reina’s dreams come true, but not in the way she would have predicted. Kai and Reina, along with a select few will have their hands full fighting the different factions to make a world that is bright and right. I received these as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Fae and the Fallen year or book one five
Reina and Kai have been the best of buds from a young age. It was a dream of both of theirs to obtain a gift and go to the Gifted Fae Academy and become a Fae to protect those lesser. One day, Kai leaned forward to kiss Reina, and she found herself twelve feet in the air…his gift showed itself. They grew apart…he became indifferent and then started bullying her. She never gave up on her dreams or hope…it paid off. After the two of them are expelled from the public school, they ended up at their dream school where they were accepted. They are both immediately sought after and infiltrated with the Elite of the school. There is a group working against the Fae who are killing them. They attack the school, and now questions are asked about Kai’s and a couple other student’s involvement after one of the Elite are killed at a dance. Who is right and wrong? How many more deaths will occur? Will Reina learn how to use her gift in time?
The Brave and the Broken book two five
Reina and Kai are on opposing sides of the war…they are using Kai’s face as the leader of the Fallen, which is far from the truth. Reina and her friends are trying to make sense out of everything happening! She knows that Kai cannot be responsible…and Miranda foretells she will continue to pick Kai over all of them. Oden and her are no more! She loves Kai, and he her. Now, Kai watched another person he knew be destroyed by the real head of the Fallen…DT. He is scared of him…Reina’s hero adopts her. Kai and Reina are texting one another after she believed she killed him…turns out he was just hurt. Now, they will have to come together to stop one dangerous person from destroying everything and everyone…but the truths they find inside him are heartrending.
The Strong & the Stolen four third
In a twisted reality, it is two years after Kai is imprisoned for his crimes. The world they knew through the Fae, collapsed. The Fae had left and only a handful were still around to protect the innocents. As Kia contemplates different scenario’s that occurred, all the prisoners, including him find freedom. It is DT walking around! He cannot believe it…how is he alive! He wants the prisoners votes so he can become the new chairman. Reina finally has a run in with him and hits him…she knows he is still evil and is planning something. They have to try and discover how the Fae lost their powers. Reina and her friends will come together to fight in a final battle giving it everything they have…but what will happen? Who will die and stay alive? How will their world be after the final battle?

Reina and Kaito were friends when they were young, but as soon as Kaito's gift became apparent they became enemies. Finally Reina's power presents itself and the two of them will realize their dreams of attending the Gifted Fae Academy. When a serf (an individual without a gift) begins to influence the overlooked poor of the city, and brings those with previously considered inconsequential gifts into fighters. Eventually they will have to work together to defeat a threat to the city where they live. I thought this was a wonderful series. Well written and complex characters that live in a world where a magical gift is more important, and profitable than any other consideration. Interactions flow smoothly from multiple POV's, and I thought they were very realistic. This story takes place in a fascinating world were those with gifts hold all the influence, and most of the wealth. Exciting magical battles, plenty of action, plenty of unexpected twists in the plot, and a happily ever after kept me up late to finish these fantastic books.

Such a wonderful Trilogy. The books flow together well as the story develops. This is listed as an academy book, but it is so much more. The true focus is on social structure and whether someone should be "elite" just because they are gifted. This series takes you on a journey that will make you question who is right and who as well as an emotional journey with a love story that seems impossible. The world is always in the way and each time you think love will wine, some new twist arises again. I love the Reina and her constant battle to choose what's right over what she desires, but I love the Kaito who is fighting his inner demons as he struggles with whether he is a villain or a hero.

The first two books in this three book bundled series were really good. Actually, the second book and it was what I thought was the perfect ending. However, once again, either the publisher or the author were trying to draw this out into a trilogy. It could’ve been a great long single book with just the first two books. However, they went and ruined it by forcing a third book which was shorter than the others and filled with a lot of empty space. The romance that could have culminated at any point in the second book got dragged out and out and out and out. Talk about destroying a climax. So, do you want my advice, read the first two books and be happy!

This is a great story that was a lot of fun to binge. It's a slow burn enemies to lovers/second chance romance that starts out YA but ends NA as the characters age and we get an explicit sex scene. The magic system was really interesting. I wish it had been more apparent earlier that this story took place on earth in a dystopian future. I was a little disappointed that there were no actual fae 😅 but I really loved the whole story. Great commentary on the nature of good and evil and how we have the ability to overcome and rise above our darkness.

This is a fast paced read filled with suspense, romance, action and best of all magic. The romance part of the story was well written and did not overtake the storyline. The abilities that each character has is not your normal ones which was nice to see since some of these Academy series seem to be very similar - this one is original and I had a hard time putting it down. Having the complete collection is great because you don't have to wait for the next book to be released you get the full story all at once. I defintely look forward to more by this author

Good read

Told from both the main characters POV; The world building and storyline was solid and the characters were written well. I really enjoyed the read no matter of the emotional rollercoaster ride throughout. The main characters relationship was up and down. One minute I want to kill Kai the next I like him. She was far too good for him. He was a bully and manipulator and when he slept with Miranda I wanted her to stay with Oden until he did the deed with Miranda. There is sexual content and violence throughout. Highly recommended.

This was not the book I expected it to be. Fae probably isn’t the right term to be used - this book is about superheroes. While the overall story was interesting and had a good conclusion, I felt that there were a lot of dropped threads and many filler moments that were frustrating. By the end, I was ready for the book to end, but it wasn’t bad. It’s worth a listen, but I don’t see myself re-listening.

Wow, this series runs you through the gamut of emotions. It’s a totally different definition for Fae than I’ve ever read and that got me interested, and once I started, I was hooked till the end. The idea of touch magic was also interesting. This was a good series, if you like fantasy, action and bully romance you should read this series.

What a great read! Loved Kai and Rei and where their story goes. The battle with DT was exciting and ended on a positive note that made this story complete. Lots of twists and turns that lead to an awesome ending.

Phenomenal Series

The first book was a bit slow going and I wasn’t exactly sure where it would take me but the series overall was amazing! I loved the characters. I loved the diversity. I loved the twist on a fantasy genre book.

The world of Fae
A great series about thin lines: love and hate, right and wrong. The characters were well developed and the story flowed well.

Series was pretty good, held my interest enough to get through all 3 pretty quickly. Fae is used as a rank in this context though; don’t expect typical Fae when going into this. 4.5 rounded up for the series as a whole

I had originally received the first book as an ARC from the author before getting the trilogy as an ARC via HiddenGems. I have been absolutely blown away by Brittni’s writing and the story itself.

A few things you should know up front. First off, each of these books is so enthralling and consuming that you will find yourself thinking about the book long after you’ve read it, a bit like being (happily) trapped in the event horizon of a supermassive black hole. The second thing, books 1 & 2 lead into the third. They are not meant, in any manner, to be stand alone novels. If either or both of those things don’t sound appealing to you, go ahead and turn around now. I won’t judge.

If you’re still with me . . . the one thing I can tell you for certain is that you are in for one hell of a ride.

Though marked as a bully romance, I personally wouldn’t classify it as such. There is so much more to Kaito and Reina than that. The richness and depth of their shared histories, the pasts and experience that shape them both individually while braiding them together with such an unshakeable bond at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, Kaito is a hell of a jackass sometimes, but don’t think Reina’s a shrinking violet, either. She gives as good as she gets.

When it comes to the story overall, there are so many things I could comment on, innumerable focuses I could craft this review around. I could tell you about the richness of the world building, with the structure and equal struggles of society at large. I could tell you about the littlest details that make these books so special, that bring you into the hearts and minds of Reina and Kaito, the friends who support them, and the rivals that push them to be better.

I could even lament the poetic flow of Britini’s writing, how it’s almost as though the words are being whispered and sung into existence in your very psyche, to hold you and haunt you long after you’ve completed this trilogy.

I could even tell you how I only put each of these books down only because I needed to sleep, only to pick them back up again at my next opportunity. But in truth, what held me so captivated was the warmth and depth of her characters. Reina and Kaito come through in such a way that you forget you’re reading.

Oden, Briara, Yemoja Roux, and Zane Blaque, each character is so vibrant, no matter if they’re the stars or the supporting cast. You forget that these people are fictional characters living in a world of one woman’s amazing creation.

One thing I truly love is how the ending of book one leads you into the beginning of book two. And the end of book two leads you into the beginning of the final act. You are kept on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the very end. Be prepared to have tissues on one side of you and your favorite social drink on the other. As many places as you may find yourself laughing, you’ll find yourself screaming in frustration, crying with Reina, or cheering on Kaito as he fights for what he truly believes in when he meets DT.

It really is quite an amazing read that I can’t recommend enough. If you like Stephanie Rowe, A.D. Winter, Mary Fan, Megan Blackwood, or Allison Rose, you will love this book.

As a side note, I’m a big fan of music across multiple genres, and when it comes to Kaito and Reina, they each have a song that fits to them in my head.

Kaito: ‘Keepin’ Me Alive’ by Jonathan Roy

Reina: ‘Fight Song’ by Rachel Platten

Kaito & Reina as both a pair of warriors together in their fight: ‘Thunder’ by Imagine Dragons.

And then again, as a romantic couple: “Walk Through the Fire” by Zayde Wolf ft. Ruelle.

A new author for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect really but this book was really enjoyable.
All three of the Gifted Fae Academy books in one, book one The Fae and the Fallen, series follows Reina Bennet and Kaito Nakamaru who live in a world where the citizens are divided between the “gifted”, who usually become Fae, and the non-gifted also known as Serf’s. Reina and Kaito were friends as kids, but when Kaito develops his powers, everything changes and Kaito turns into a bully. But when Reina and Kaito meet Oden, a Fae in training, he tells Reina that she is gifted and welcomes her, and Kaito, to come to the Gifted Fae Academy. It doesn’t take long for Reina and Kaito’s worlds to change, and then the book ends on a cliffhanger.
Book two, The Brave and the Broken, begins from the ending of book one, but with Kaito now known as one of The Fallen, a group of citizens who are attacking and killing Fae. Since we see the story unfold from both points of view, it is hard to dislike Kaito even though everyone thinks he’s a villian since he is doing it all to protect Reina. But as the attacks grow closer, the lines between the “good guys” and the “villians” becomes blurred and you find yourself wondering who is really on the good side after all. This book also ends on a cliffhanger, so you have to wait to read book three to see what happens next.
A new author for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect really but this book was really enjoyable.
Book three, The Strong and the Stolen begins two years after the ending of book two and things have drastically changed. The once powerful Fae have almost all left the city, and a virus has spread that has taken away the powers of the gifted. When Kaito finds himself once again a free man, his only thoughts are of Reina. Along with his new friends, Wolfe and Yanis, Kaito makes his way to his childhood home where he begins his search for the only girl he’s ever loved. Along the way we meet up with old friends from the previous books, and an epic battle of Fae vs Villain is fought. The ended was a little sad since I really hoped for a different path for our star-crossed lovers, but it was a great series.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
