6 books51 followersManisha Gala, born and brought up in Mumbai is an upcoming Gujarati author. She is a happily married mother of two sons. Her first novel - 'ફેસબુકમાંના ચહેરા' (Facebook mana Chahera) released on 20th November, 2016. It won Gujarat Sahitya Academy's second prize in novel genre for that year. Her second novel 'Money Game' released in February 2019. Her third novel 'Vaarsdaar' is in printing and will release soon.
Manisha started her career as a software programmer in 1991. In 1995, she took a break as a homemaker to spend quality time with her family. Then she took up the position of publisher and editor at Navneet Newshouse (a children’s weekly newspaper in English) from 2004 to 2011. This is when she discovered her passion for writing, and continued to write in her mother tongue, Gujarati. She has written a few articles on social subjects, published in Gujarati Mid-Day; translated a Gujarati book to English, “Advanced Jain Karma Theory” (unpublished). Her unique thirst for in depth knowledge of Jainism is inherited from her father. She shares this knowledge of Jainism on quora.com and on her YouTube channel 'Jainism - The Ancient Science'.
An active librarian on “goodreads.com”, her Gujarati book reviews are appreciated and followed by many. She is an avid reader, loves Indian regional music, and pursues Kathak dance.
