Poppy Davies has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a baker for the upcoming royal wedding. But falling in love with the Prince of Wales? Ha! Not unless her middle name is Cinderella.
Or so she thinks …
Welsh baker Poppy Davies is happily living her best life in London. Passionate about her work, there is nothing more she could possibly want-except to land the coveted job of baking the official biscuits for the upcoming royal wedding for Prince Christian, second in line to the throne. It’s an assignment that could change the entire trajectory of her professional career.
But what about her personal life?
An accidental meeting with Prince Alexander of Wales, the future king, changes everything. Poppy won’t deny the sexy, dark-haired prince is madly attractive, but his reputation as a playboy—and the fact that she’s the least likely woman he’d ever be interested in—puts this in the TV movie category, not real life.
Yet Poppy can’t deny the spark between herself and Xander. As their relationship grows, so does the looming realities of a royal romance in the public eye. Can a baker be accepted as the girlfriend of the heir to the throne—and can she keep true to herself in the role? And will Xander come to believe that he truly is a man worthy of the sacrifice a romance with him requires?
Royal Icing is the third book in the feel-good Modern Royals romantic comedy series but can be read as a standalone. If you like smart heroines, swoon-worthy princes, and laugh-out-loud humor, then you’ll love this heartwarming novel.
USA Today bestselling author Aven Ellis began her publishing career in 2013 with her debut release, Connectivity. She currently writes romantic comedies featuring royals, billionaires, aristocrats, and athletes.
Her books are designed to make readers laugh out loud and fall in love. Happily-ever-after endings and good-boy heroes are guaranteed.
Aven lives in the Dallas area with her family. Aven loves shopping and fashion and can spend hours playing with fragrances in any department store. She can be found chatting it up on social media, eating speciality M&Ms, and crushing on the latest outfit the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing.
I loved this. Poppy and Xander's romance felt right. It wasn't sappy, and it didn't dive into the realm of unbelief. This looks like a fun series, and I'm definitely on board to read Bella's story.
As a side note, I'm a fan of the royals, but not all of them. I liked how the author mixed elements of certain members of the British royals (and if I'm not mistaken, a few from other houses), and gave the characters not only a personality, but maybe some understanding of what their life must be like. What we see in the media, and especially the rag sheets, is almost certainly not what is really happening, and I feel sorry for some of them that they have had to endure such vitriol. I'm glad I'm just a little nobody that doesn't have to live that way.
Poppy Davies is a biscuit artist. Prince Alexander of Wales in the next in line for the throne. It seems like an unlikely romance, but they are great together! They jumped to my favorite couple in the Modern Royals series. When Xander questions himself, Poppy is there to encourage him. When Poppy has doubts about being in the limelight, Xander encourages her, letting her know she can handle it, and he’ll help her.
I was wondering how Queen Antonia would respond to her eldest son being with a commoner, and she, of course, does not disappoint with trying to break them up. Out of all the couples that have had to deal with her antics, I thought Poppy handled her the best. She doesn’t back down, and she’s not afraid to fight for what she wants, which is Xander.
Their romance is cute and sweet; I really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next for the royal family.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy**
I enjoyed this third book in this series a lot. Biscuit(cookie) artist Poppy meets the crown prince of England and sparks fly. Daughter of parents that own and run a fish and chips restaurant in Wales, she is everything that the Queen hates and certainly not anyone she would be okay with marrying her son. It’s not long before the couple are completely smitten with each other. The consequences of a commoner marrying the future king of England is thoroughly explored here, what with evil paparazzi and an eviler queen and queen mother. Poppy has a lot to weather this time around.
There’s reasons I couldn’t rate it higher. Some of the dialogue is a bit cheesy especially when the prince is declaring his love mostly in the last part of the book. The Queen being so horrible even in front of staff was something else that brought the rating down a bit. I can’t imagine that happening in real life. But, it’s a feel good book with even some sensual, but not real explicit scenes. Recommended to adult romance readers!
Finally getting Xander’s book! After how he has been in the previous books, I was dying to get my hands on his story to see what was going on in his head! Poppy is a local baker that has become a royal favorite, and with Christian and Clementine’s wedding coming up, the chance to bake for the biggest event is the biggest thing in her career yet! Thanks to the pouring rain, her dreams are almost shattered when she is hit with a puddle of water and then almost drops her cookies, until Xander comes to the rescue and saves her cookies while also getting her a change of clothes so she can still make her meeting. Immediately enthralled by her, Xander knows he has to get to know Poppy and after helping her, he works to show her that he isn’t what the press says about him. But as they develop a relationship, Poppy is unsure if she can handle being the future king’s wife and all that goes along with it. I loved the love story between these two, and I also love that Aven gives us peeks into the other characters, both that we have read about as well as those we will be getting books for in the future! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Xander and Poppys' story has blown all the others out of the water! They are explosive, sweet, and completely perfect for each other in every single possible way. I can't honestly think how Bella's or Victoria's story could top this. Their story was riddled with so much drama, but Poppy handled it like a pro. And the side characters? Absolute perfection. The squad, Helene, Jillian, and Arthur made this book even better!
“What else do I have to do to prove it to you?” Xander asks in exasperation. “I’ve never had to work this hard in my life to get a woman to have dinner with me.”
I absolutely died when Poppy made Xander work for a dinner date!! She did not give him an inch, and I adored her for it! Seriously, she couldn't be more perfect for him. He has been so used to women falling at his feet, and Poppy REFUSED, even though she thought he was hot as hell. Her descriptions of him are AMAZING!!!
"My heartbeat quickens. His voice. I didn’t notice it in the chaos of this morning, but it’s smooth and rich. Seductive. Like a luscious ganache, silky and decadent—one you can’t resist. I clear my throat, for fear if I don’t, I might squeak. Or blurt out that his voice is as sexy as a melted chocolate."
“Your past is your past. As mine is mine,” I say. “Where we are now—and where we go—is what matters.”
"You're about to make a huge presentation, and everything was ruined. But you didn’t explode in anger. You didn’t cry. You didn’t panic. You didn’t flail about and blame everyone around you. You were steel. In a moment of chaos, you chose to be calm."
"This man would move heaven and earth for me, I realise with a thundering heart. Xander would already go to war for me. I’ve only known him for a few days, but I know this as much as I know my own name."
These quotes only exemplify why they are perfect for each other. Poppy is a quiet calm when needed, but also doesn't judge his past. He admires that calmness when his world is chaotic. Xander would burn the world for her, and she calms his chaotic world!!
"I would walk through fire for you. Yet despite all of this, you’re going to rip away the future I want. The future I deserve. And I’m bloody furious at you for it.”
“No. If you think you can be the man I love, then you know where to find me. But I won’t come after you. I know who I am. What I’m willing to sacrifice. And if you can believe in yourself, if you can trust our love to face the challenge of living in this gilded cage, then I will talk to you. But not until then. I don’t want to see you unless you believe that as passionately as I do.”
Poppy doesn't accept anything less than she deserves. She walked away from a crown, a prince, a love, because she knew he needed to grow up and fix himself. That type of self-respect is not bought nor easily found! I was so proud of her. I know she was devastated, but she loved herself enough to walk away when it wasn't right for her and for him. She was strong enough to break her own heart and Xander's so he could grow and learn to see himself as the amazing man he was.
The bedt part of this book is Poppy putting bitch Queen Antonia in her damn place!!! It showed why Poppy is going to be an amazing queen and why she's perfect for Xander. She fights fiercely for those she loves, even when they won't fight for themselves. I'm so proud of how she handled every interaction!!
Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review
It’s finally here... Xander’s story!!! I have been waiting for it and I was very excited when it landed in my inbox.
Aven Ellis is one of my fave authors and I just adore her Modern Royal series.
Poppy Davies is a baker and hast he chance tob e the baker for the royal wedding. That’s when she accidentally meets Price Alexander of Wales, the future king. Her world changes completly and takes her by total surprise. They hit it off immediately and a spark is definitely there. He seems tob e different tot he media Xander and I absolutely adore how their relationship develops. It’s not easy, because his future is set and being with him means being part of this.
The moments and scenes between them are adorable and sweet. The storyline is full of ups and downs. His mother and father play a big part in it too and then there ist he squad!!! The best, I love them as a group and how they are always there for each other.
Aven Ellis’ writing is romantic, fresh, funny, sweet and passionate. She captures all the emotions perfectly and puts in a lot of detail. It’s clear that she researches a lot to make it authentic.
This story is one of Aven’s best. I grew really close to these young royals and can’t wait fort he next book in this series.
Aven has a way of telling the story of so many different characters and somehow making me love each and every one of them. My love for Xander and especially Poppy are no exception.
Poppy is a heroine who we all want to be- someone who stands up for what they believe, for what they want in life, and for those they love. Watching her find her place in a life she never dreamed she would live was a beautiful thing. Her and Xander both walk through such a season of growth and as the reader I really felt like I was right there with them.
Let’s be real, when it comes to secondary characters I just want to be a part of the “squad” and join in with the witty banter and game nights. The group is becoming like the royal Friends we would all love to watch play out. Every friendship, romance, and family bond is so well written. Aven portrays a group of people really just doing life together, they just happen to be royal and famous too.
I loved this royal read and CANNOT wait for Bella’s story next!
How does Aven keep delivering the most addictive stories I will never know. I don't want a peak behind the curtain.....instead I will happily sit curled up in my chair with a nice cuppa and enjoy everything she writes.
Poppy is adorable. Xander is my new book boyfriend, sorry everyone else. And my heart just breaks for the sweet Bella.
I really liked Poppy and Xander and was anxiously waiting for Xander to show this side of him we could get hints of when he was with the squad! They are just so cheesily adorable without giving you a toothache lol. I am also happy that someone finally put an end to all the behind the scenes bullying that we saw in the previous books, and Helene and Jillian are definitely my new role models, I want to be them when I grow up! Now onto Bella, I am really looking forward to see her finally get her own spotlight!
Let me start by saying I love Aven Ellis’ books. I’ve been so excited for Royal Icing since I started reading the Modern Royals series because I’ve been so intrigued by Xander and his story and Royal Icing didn’t disappoint, this is my favourite read from the whole series and in my top 2 favourite Aven Ellis’ books ever.
As soon as I read Poppy and Xander’s first meeting in chapter one, this story grabbed my heart. I loved the way they first met.
I’ve loved Xander from the first two books in this series but I loved getting to know the real him, seeing him put everyone he loves above everything else and hearing about his worries about becoming King. I fell for Xander pretty much straight away, he’s so much more than the playboy the media have made him out to be. Xander had me swooning from the very start and has become one of my favourite characters.
Poppy was the perfect match for Xander, she was fiercely independent and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and for those she loves. She didn’t treat Xander like he was above her and had no worries about telling him the truth, which is something I really loved about her. She was a force to be reckoned with as she fought for a life with the man she loves while navigating through a life that she never dreamed of having in the royal family and all of the pressure and attention that comes with dating the future King. She took it all in her stride and never once thought Xander wasn’t worth it. I loved how Poppy and Xander where together, you could really tell how much they loved each other and how much they meant to each other right from the start.
The Modern Royals series has to be my favourite series from Aven. I love the whole royal squad, Aven has a way of making you fall in love with all the secondary characters and want to know their stories. I also really loved how Aven decided to stick with UK English for this book so it was true to the characters.
I fell in love with this story and it’s now become one of my favourites. I’m super excited to be back in this world again for Bella’s story. I’d really love to one day see a story about Xander and Poppy when they become King and Queen as I’d love to visit their story again as they go through that giant change.
I read this book in one sitting as soon as I got my hands on it when it released. If you love royal romances, I HIGHLY recommend this book! You won’t regret it.
Entertaining enough, but everything is too deep, too fast. I'm noticing this trend with this author. Insta-love and then incredibly little conflict within the couple for the remainder of the book (maybe one major fight, but not a lot of suspense leading to it). While it's a quick, entertaining read, I wanted a bit more depth and substance.
Still, if you're looking for a feel-good read that has saccharine romance with almost no troubles and a guaranteed Happily Ever After, then look no further than this author.
"If there's one thing I can be sure of, it's that Xander the Philanderer is not designed for a relationship."
"I'm a biscuit artist from Wales. I'm not the kind of woman he would flirt with. Hell, I'm not the kind of woman he would even glance at."
Oh how I've been waiting to return to the Palace, and reconnect with "the squad"! I think my desire to return was heightened by the fact that it is Xander's turn for his happily ever after. We get to know Xander a little better, and hear about the pressure he is under being the heir. There is also something from his past that causes him to freeze versus jumping into action. If you're anything like me
Poppy is a strong, independent woman from Wales, who also happens to be a fabulous biscuit artist. She loves her job, and cannot imagine doing anything else. Biscuit decorating is her passion! Clearly she's excellent at what she does, as she has scored a meeting with Prince Christian and Clementine. Their wedding is fast approaching, and they have their sights set on Poppy's creations. Before Poppy can have that meeting though, rain almost ruins the entire thing. As she's getting the biscuits out of the van, she gets drenched by a passing vehicle. That leads to her dropping the box, but it is quickly grabbed by a helping hand. Poppy looks up, and she discovers Prince Xander right next to her.
Their story grabbed my heart. The way Poppy stands up for herself, and for those she cares about speaks about who she is. Meanwhile Xander will do whatever he can to protect those who he loves. Even if that means protecting them from his own Mother.
Now if you've read the previous two books in the Modern Royals series, then you already know that Queen Antonia is ready to cause drama. She pretty much excels at it, and she is determined to get her way. Will anyone ever stand up to the Queen?
I loved the book, and am sad that it's over. But I also know that I'll "see" these characters again when we return in the next book.
*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
I haven’t fully laughed out loud in a book in a while but the opening meet-cute scene had me ROLLING!! Tears of laughter in my eyes. It just kept being one thing after another.
This was a super sweet, funny, dramatic, romance movie-level book. There’s a part of me that knows that maybe this is just a bit too much and cheesy but also I just loved it. It just made me happy and I did tear up a couple times too, especially for Xander and his deeper struggles. There’s also a bit of heat, fade-to-black type.
Lots of angst (in the fuzzy romance movie sense, not in the complex-heavy-wreck-you-angsty-book sense), big-style since this is *the* prince, *the* heir, so the stakes are higher. Xander is absolutely lovely though a bit tortured. Poppy is an absolute badass - love her interaction with the Queen especially but also just her backbone of steel. She still gets anxious, she still has fears, she’s still emotional but when it counts she buckles down - reminds me of me a lot. Xander and Poppy are just the perfect match for each other.
Honestly it felt like it ended too soon in their story! I want to read much more - see what happens years down the line when they’re married and settle in to the official roles! I could have read them for longer, no problem.
Best one of the series so far! Again, definitely a series I think you have to be in the mood for - for something very much light-hearted (overall) and not too serious. Just when you want something that really hits that simple, happy, romance vibe.
I feel like a broken record, but every MODERN ROYALS book is better than the last one, and ROYAL ICING follows that pattern! I’m so, so, so happy about this because I have been looking forward to Xander, the Prince of Wales, story since I met him in the first book of the series. There is something charismatic about him that you immediately fall in love with and want to be in his life, besides the fact that he is the Prince of Wales, so every time he has popped up in the past books, I’ve been so excited! Finally, a book all his own! And his person - Poppy - is a dream. I adore her. A Welsh baker who, literally, gets caught by the Prince. A true fairytale!
Do you love Hallmark fairytale movies? With maybe a slight twinge more steam - think a CW teen show? Then ROYAL ICING is 100% your book!
So one thing I really, really love about the MODERN ROYALS series is that each book is individually their own HEA story, but I highly suggest starting with book one because you get to know all the players and you’ll want to be best friends with the cousin squad just like me!
I know I will reread all of this series, but I see myself rereading ROYAL ICING above the rest. I love Xander. I love Poppy. I love the cousin squad. I want to be a royal and live HEA. Who can make this happen? Anyone?
Highly recommend. Please go read so we can gush about our royal futures together! Okay, thanks, bye.
Royal Icing will have you feeling everything as it’s got everything all wrapped up into one story. You have the strong independent career driven Poppy with a spine of steel, loving loyal heart that’s fiercely protective of those she cares about and will always tell you like it is. Then there’s reformed dashing rogue, Prince Alexander, with so much pressure riding on every move he makes. He’s a flawed prince in many ways but also fiercely loyal to those who he loves and cares about. He’s lost trying to establish himself as a modern royal and future king. Their journey to their HEA could easily be turned into a Hallmark movie in truth the entire series would. Both of them have their own flaws and insecurities, but together they form an unbeatable couple ready to take on anyone and anything even the spiteful and vindictive Queen. You will love reading this modern-day fairytale with its wonderful leads and a fantastic supporting cast of characters. I enjoyed this book so much that I didn’t want it to end. Every book in this series just gets better and better and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next with Bella’s story. Thank you so much Aven for another wonderful book.
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. If you follow me then you know that I am a HUGE fan of Aven's writing. So when Aven asked if I would beta read this book I was super excited. I loved the first two books in this series and I've been waiting for Xander's story for what feels like forever! Of course, Prince Xander couldn't just have any girl he needed the right girl and that girl is Poppy!
Poppy Davies is the girl we all want to be. She is strong, independent and she fights for what she wants. Poppy Davies is the girl that we can all aspire to be. She fights for not only herself but her friends too.
If you have read the first 2 books then you would have met Xander. A cheeky playboy who's got a reputation. But in this book, we get to know the real Xander. The one who puts those he loves above everything. The one who has the responsibility of being the future King! Oh, Xander! I fell for Xander very early on in this book. He is so much more than the playboy the papers make him out to be.
Aven's writing always manages to capture my heart. I get drawn into not only the characters but the locations, the fashion, the whole world. Aven does such detailed research and it comes across in the book. Even down to the little things.
I love, love, love the squad. They are there for each other through everything. They only want each other to be happy. It's such a rare thing that it's something we all covet. I love their banter and their witty comebacks all said with love.
This is a perfect love story. It's filled with ups and downs. Laughter and tears. If you need a real pick me up then grab this book now!
Captain Wales, The Prince of Wales, Xander Wales and Poppy Davies, a bespoke biscuit artist, a girl from Cardiff, Wales, daughter of the owners of a fish and chip shop, fall in love perfectly.
To paraphrase Poppy thoughts of their perfect love story "This is fairy tale the world expects of a royal couple - our love story. We're writing it our way, together, as partners. We're straying from the expected plot lines and creating a modern version of the fantasy. We're writing a love story that is uniquely ours. And that is the perfect fairy tale, I think."
It contains perfectly developed main characters and secondary characters. There's the evil Queen, the most loving King, Princes and Princesses - known as the squad and others. The sex is not graphic or descriptive but perfectly sensual. The plot is full and the book has the right amount of intrigue and drama.
This book has everything that an adult fairytale should have and more. It leaves you wanting more for Xander and Poppy. You know they will have their HEA. Absolutely!!!
Another amazing installment of the Modern Royals series. I just love how Aven has created these amazing British Royals characters. They are truly relatable, but still have that Royal Mystique. I just loved Poppy’s character. She is clumsy, but in the cutest way. She is sweet and sassy. She is absolutely not afraid to speak her mind. Never once in this book did she bite her tongue, even when faced with one of the most Royal of Royals. She is who I want to be when I grow up. Xander, is the next in line for the throne. You would think he’d be totally unrepeatable to someone who is a biscuit barker, someone who relies on each paycheck to get by. But Aven created him as this every-day guy, who just happens to have some not-so-every-day pressures on him. He is sweet, fiercely loyal, and super protective. He’s that guy you want in your corner. I loved their instant attraction, and the fact that he was not afraid to pursue Poppy and she was not afraid to go for it with him. This story had so many laugh out loud moments. It was the perfect escape to another world. I can’t wait for the next Modern Royal to find their HEA!
Prince Alexander of Wales and Poppy Davies, Welsh biscuit artist, meet in a rain storm and fall hard for each other. Xander, as his friends and family call him, has recently finished eight years in the British Army and is settling in to his role as working Royal while also attending history classes for his university degree. Poppy works at an upscale bakery in Belgravia and has just landed the job of supplying decorated cookies for the wedding reception of Prince Christian and Clementine, his American fiancee. Ellis seems to understand the conundrum that is being a modern royal well. Although she is telling a romantic story, she emphasizes the fishbowl aspect of media coverage, the expectations of both nation and family and the almost total lack of personal space afforded to a prince and his girlfriend. Xander's two brothers and three female cousins are all delightful characters, but it is no accident that the marriages of both sets of parents are complete disasters being hidden by the palace "suits." Tradition vs. modernization, family secrets, contemporary romance and a health crisiss all combine for an almost-impossible-to-put-down story.
Book 3 is Royal Icing is the story about the crown prince, Xander's path to love. In the previous book he dated India who he dated because she knew the royal life. I was so glad he dumped her and in this book he meets local baker Poppy Davies who was introduced in the previous book when Liz goes to her for a cake order and becomes a fan. In this story Poppy is working on the cake for Clementine's wedding to Christian and thats how Xander and her meet. In this story we also meet Camden who is a friend of Xanders and who ends up meeting his single cousins and causing some issues. This one was the best one in the series, and I absolutely adored Xander and Poppy. I might even have liked it more than the first book. It was flirty and fun and had awesome characters and was very romantic. In addition there are some things that happen that affect Xander's life and will carry on into the next book.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I adored Poppy and Xander! This was such an incredible book, and I was smiling so hard through it all! The meet cute between these two was perfect and I loved that Poppy decorated biscuits! It makes me want to learn to do this myself.
In the previous two books in the series, we get one picture of Xander, but the Xander in this book...swoon! I loved getting more of his backstory and seeing how he connects and loves with Poppy! Poppy is such a strong, empowering character and she has one badass moment that I had goosebumps from! And these two together? You can just feel their chemistry! They are fun, they are sexy together, and just an overall incredible couple!
Another incredible book from Aven, and I am already dying for Bella’s story! How she creates these worlds with so many characters I love and want stories from is beyond me, but I am here for every book she writes! This one takes the biscuits!
I have been reading Aven Ellis’ books for a long time. I was first attracted by her stand-alone rom-coms set in Chicago. Then I moved on to her hockey books, baseball books, and now her Modern Royals series. I have seen how she has grown as a writer while maintaining her distinctive voice and laugh-out-loud scenes.
Her Modern Royals series is special. While it maintains the humor, deep research, and attention to detail Aven is known for, there is an emotional depth to these stories that is extraordinary.
Poppy and Zander’s story is one of a deep attachment, the overcoming of adversity and opposition, and triumph of a strong heroine who knows what she wants and is willing to do amazing things to make her dreams come true.
Fall in love with Poppy and Zander. They are more than just icing on the cake.
Another great book in the Modern Royals series! They all have commoner and royal pairings, but each has been a unique and sweet story. I have enjoyed each book but this one is definitely my favorite so far!
Just like the blurb mentions, I could totally see Poppy and Xander's romance as a TV movie. She is a baker living in London and he is a Prince. Despite their different backgrounds they have a nice connection and great chemistry.
I liked that there's some cute, romantic moments that balance the drama of trying to date in the spotlight. Nothing felt over the top angsty, too, which I liked.
If you are looking for a fun, royalty romance I definitely recommend trying this book and series!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Xander is the Prince of Wales, the first in line for the throne, the ultimate playboy. No woman has ever captured his heart until Poppy.
Poppy bakes biscuits for a living, her family is from Wales and she is just trying to seal the deal of baking biscuits for Prince Christian's wedding.. One big mishap has her falling in Xander's arms literally..
When Xander asks her to dinner the lashing he gets from Poppy is hilarious. .Their journey has many ups and downs, after all she is a commoner and she doesn't care that he is a Prince.. She tells him like it is.. But in the end can the love withstand it all?
Ugh, "mystique" again? A silly nickname? The exact same proclamation that a woman is independent but then love wins out? Even the exact same fight -- the woman does something foolish and automatically thinks the man hates her, overshadowing the drama they all claim infects the older royals? To be honest, I rather wish I could dash off books with the same plotline and call them a series.
To be fair, the fairly strong women supporting one another are why I keep reading, and I want to know how Bella comes into herself in book 4, as she's really the only one who hasn't come across as strong from the start.
If you're a royal fanatic, like I am, you will be able to recognize all of her royal inspiration in the book. This is another book in her Modern Royal series (you don't have to read them all to understand any of them but they do mention characters in other books). This story is about Poppy, a biscuit baker and decorator, and Xander, the future king of England. A very modern Will and Kate like story with all the Aven flair. I was grinning from ear to ear in many parts. Royal Icing comes out NEXT WEEK! You can find it on Amazon Kindle!
