The Holiday Firecrackers #7

Adrian's Firecracker

Rate this book
She's always been a ball-buster, but is she ready to be his?

--Tammy--
Taking control of my life always came naturally to me. My code of ethics didn't make me popular, but it got me where and what I wanted. Some people said that made me fierce and unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with. But I was also very private, so what most people didn't see were my insecurities and careful considerations of every move.
As the first female Sales Manager to work under my new boss, I was ready to hold my own. But my first day on the job, I nearly fell prey to his charm.
I hadn’t been saving myself for Mr. Right only to hand the goods over to a player, so I did what any rational woman would do… I kept a journal documenting how exactly wrong he was for me.

--Adrian--
I’d dated tons of women, never finding that package deal of a woman who wanted a deep relationship and could keep up with my long work hours. Ironically, that left even more time to work.
My new sales manager was possibly the most brilliant person I’d ever hired. She was also gorgeous, single, and completely uninterested in anything other than getting her job done.
Her intelligence and drive should have made her the perfect woman for me. But the other factor… total focus on work, was a problem. And there was the issue that she seemed rather turned off by my dating history.
In retrospect, the large number may have looked less like I’d been unable to find the woman of my dreams, and more like I dreamed of every woman. How could I convince her that we were meant to be together?

A dirty-sweet, insta-love, short story romance!

Barbra Campbell writes dirty-sweet romance because she gets a kick out of helping couples overcome problems as they fall in love, even if it’s her fault they have problems in the first place.
After pursuing degrees in Genetics for nearly a decade, she realized the ‘chemistry’ of romance was a lot more fun to write about than the biochemistry of how our bodies work. She shared her stories with the world, was a finalist in a bunch of romance contests, and traded her lab coat for a laptop.
All of this was done with her college sweetheart by her side. He helps her pursue the HEA on a daily basis, even when she has her mind on sexy book boyfriends and cover models.
When Barbra’s not writing, she’s likely to be taking a walk, petting one or more of her many animals, or playing the cello! Visit BarbraCampbell.com for more.

“You keep talking like that and I’ll be certain I’m in love with you.”

Book 7 in the Holiday Firecrackers series is about 2 very different people, Adrian who is the boss and a serial dater and Tammy who is the new employee and virgin. Now, even though the blurb leads us to believe Adrian was a bit of a playboy/MW, that was not necessarily the case.
Virgin h, no real info on H's past, just that he doesn't sleep with everyone he's seen or photographed with, no others after meeting, no abuse, epilogue a few months out.
Before grabbing this one to read, I had read some reviews which assured me not all was as it seems in regards to the H's playboy status. I'm actually glad I read this one. It was short but good. It kind of ended a little too abruptly for me though. It has an epilogue at a few months later but I would have liked to see more of their future together. I completely understand that things happen and maybe that's not part of the story the author wanted to tell. Not all authors write epilogues and that's their prerogative. Maybe we'll get more from this couple at a later time. Still...it was a good story and I do recommend for those who don't always need an extended epilogue.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Tammy has seen the gossip about her new boss and decided that she wasn’t going to be yet another notch on the bedpost. But the more time she spends around Adrian her feelings change and so does the way she views his history. Could all of what she believes be wrong and could they really have a future?

Adrian is a successful business man with a reputation that he doesn’t deserve especially with the ladies, so when he meets Tammy his newest employee he is unsure of how to behave especially as she seems to do everything that she can to keep him at arm’s length. Will Adrian ever find out why Tammy pushes him away and how can he change her mind?

This was a great little read and a very enjoyable one too. Tammy is used to guarding her heart and doesn’t see when someone looks at her and sees her. Loved how they finally got together and sparkled long after the sun came up. 4* read.

Tammy starts a new job thinking her boss Adrian is a player and starts taking notes of dates and touches incase there could be a sexual harassment case but Adrian isn't a player he is ready to settle down and he thinks Tammy could be the one but when he feels betrayed will he ever forgive her.

Just in time for the 4th, this is a fun and sexy read. I loved how nervous Adrian got around Tammy. He was so completely sure of his feelings for her, and completely unsure of her feelings for him. This big, desirable, driven alpha tries so hard to make sure that Tammy is comfortable with him, that she knows her position in his company is based on merit not how much he wants to be with her. It's all rather sweet. Tammy is a little harder to like. She's driven but also is looking for the worst, jumping to conclusions. I was quite impressed with how she handled herself once she realized how mistaken she'd been. But my favorite part of the story was all the little connections to other Barbara Campbell books. I loved the little mentions, and even characters showing up. All in all, this is a fun 4th of July read!

Tammy has started her new job as Sales Manager and wants to make a good impression on her boss. He seems to be looking for more than her work output, however. Adrian was aware of Tammy's beauty from the start, but her work ethic, intelligence, and drive had initially been what convinced him she was right for the job. But he had never had time in his personal life to find a woman with whom he could have a deep relationship and who would be capable of keeping up with his long work hours. He sees that person in Tammy. But she just sees him as a player. Will he win her heart? Or is all of his effort for nothing?

Tammy is a bit frustrating in this story. She jumps to conclusions and never checks reality to see if she is misjudging Adrian. She keeps a little journal focusing on the bad things. He will have an uphill battle trying to show her she is wrong and how he really feels. Can he do it? Grab your copy and see if they are bound for a HEA or not.

You are the spark to my fire

Adrian's Firecracker by Barbra Campbell is the seventh book in The Holiday Firecrackers with each book by a different author. This is the story of Adrian and Tammy. Adrian owns and runs the Fitlicious corporation and Tammy's first day kicks off the book. He is interested in her, having fallen for her when he was reviewing her resume and then more so during her interview. She is all business, concentrating on her career and her new position as Sales Manager at Fitlicious.
This is an interesting and fast-paced short story with likeable characters and a bit of taboo. I sort of felt lost at the beginning as I think it could have used a prologue to set the story up and it ends with a HFN. But there are sparklers and fireworks.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Adrian’s firecracker is book seven in the ‘’holiday firecracker’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Adrian has wanted his new employee since she started working for him. Tammy is attracted to Adrian but she thinks he is a player. Will Tammy finally give Adrian a chance?
The chemistry between Adrian and Tammy is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

This the 1st book of Barbara Campbell's that I have read, but it certainly won't be the last. She has a way of bringing to life a entertaining and sexy story even though it is short. The characters are believable and you can't help but hope that they get their happy ever after. Adrian and Tammy's story is one of finding your soul mate even through a series of crazy misunderstandings. This story has everything that you could want in a book; drama, comedy and of course hot romance.
You don't want to miss this one!

Adrian was attracted to Tammy from the time read her resume. He has asked her several times to go out. There is not a policy to another date coworkers. Tammy continued to denim him a date. She did however keep track of a variety of things because she was a burned before. Adrian is a strong character who has worked hard for his company and made sure he is covered because of certain policies. Tammy has kept her insecurities before everything and is keep secrets. Can Adrian find out if she likes him or hates him without overstepping the lines?

This is part of a multi author world they only take about thirty minutes to read so are fast and fun but don't expect a whole lot of depth They are perfect for when you are short on time and just want a quick read

Adrian is a bit of a workaholic he dreams of finding the perfect woman but has never managed to find her Then he employs a new sales manager and the attraction is instant but she only seems interested in the job but is that true Tammy has worked hard for the job as sales manager and isn't going to fall for the charms of her boss no matter how hot he is How long can these two resist you will have to read to see

Adrian's Firework is a short and hot story that will leave you spinning.

Tammy has started her new job, but she is not sure about her new boss. He seems to have another agenda beside work. Adrian was taken by Tammy's beauty from the start, but her experience is what won him over. Unfortunately not seeing the true picture and only what is thought of could ruin not only her job but Adrian's heart.

Sit back, grab a drink and enjoy the fireworks.

Some sweet, some heat and some romance. This was a really good quick read. It was definitely instalove but it had a nice build to it that I enjoyed. I liked both Adrian and Tammy and thought the tension between them was well written. The plot was engaging and the story flowed well. Basically, this is a fluffy, low angst way to spend 45 minutes or so.

Note: Available on KU at time of posting. This series is all written by different authors so can all be read as standalones. This is my second one and both have been good, so I feel the series is a good pick for a fast, fun read.

This is a good story by Barbara Campbell. It was an interesting story. I enjoyed Tammy and Adrian's interactions.

Tammy has just started a new job and she is excited about it. Her boss, Adrian has been out with many girls so even though she is attracted to him, she will stay away from him. She doesn't know that Adrian likes her. He has been distracted by her since he hired her. Will he have the chance to prove to her that they could be good for each other?

Tammy is very suspicious of the reasons for her hiring.
Adrian can’t believe what he read in that little notebook.
I find the book a little poor in detail. I was a bit lost at the beginning with the strange behaviour of Tammy and I think the beginning is not believable. You can’t fall in love while reading a resume. You can get intrigued, even interested, but in love? I don’t think so.
All in all, I enjoyed the book.

I like the concept of this storyline, but it seemed to start in the middle of the story. I did enjoy the characters and their personalities in how they meshed. Pleased that Adrian was a forgiving person and didn’t get overly upset with Tammy and her assumptions from her notes. The ending was very satisfying in he finally was able to view the fireworks with his love.

Short steamy office romance. It was a bit serious at first with Tammy trying to evade Adrian and then a complete turn around when she realized her mistake.

Adrian was a good strategies and a very patient man no wonder he had her in his arms in the end. The ending was a surprised though i wish the author had written her reaction.

Tammy has started working for Adrian's company. He has asked her out. She sees something from her office across to his office and she doesn't like it. She writes down in her notebook the events regarding her and Adrian. The characters have chemistry. Tammy jumps to conclusions about Adrian. She is insecure about Adrian. The story flows smoothly. Downside, I don't like how it just abruptly ended.

Adrian's Firecracker was my first read by Barbra Campbell and I will be reading the previous books for sure. Adrian and Tammy's story was quick and steamy and the perfect afternoon read. Tammy was attracted to her boss Adrian but his reputation as a player left her pushing him away. He has never felt for anyone what he feels for her. Can Adrian prove that she's the one he has been waiting for?

Tammy is excited about her new job, her boss, Adrian is excited about her, he’s in insta-love with her, but flubs it. He is a serial dater who has a reputation. Tammy is concerned that she will just be another notch. Some back and forth, a note book with sexual harassment notes, and a messed up meeting, get us to the two talking and starting a relationship. Was all a bit confusing, like parts were missing. Happily ever after with a marriage proposal.

Another steamy read from Barbra Campbell! Adrian fell in love with Tammy at first sight. Tammy was cautious as it seemed that Adrian was a player. The go through misunderstandings, angst and Adrian's determination to make her his which eventually lead to their HEA.

This was a sweet and romantic story about a boss and his new employee that he fell madly in love with. But his reputation about women and relationships made it hard for him to get his woman. This story was sweet, romantic and steamy and without drama.

Adrian hired Tammy for her work ethic and skills. Tammy is not so sure. This slow burn takes a couple.of unexpected turns. Adrian is a strong driven guy. Tammy needs a little fun in her life and a little less suspicion. This is an interesting take on the work place trope.

Adriana and Tammy were perfect for each other even if their working relationship seemed like they weren't. She is innocent while he is the alpha-type and I was instantly hooked. She was frustrating at times but their relationship seemed to work.
