Paul Joseph Rovelli (pj) found his introduction into the Occult as a teenager in the '70s and later studying mysticism and philosophy in college in the '80s and later finding himself writing for Mezlim and American Astrology in the '90s ev. By this point, pj had been through two "spurious Thelemic cults," O.T.O. & HOOR, that caused him to seek to correct what he saw as problems developing in the emerging Occult community congealing through the emerging Internet.

His mission began in earnest with his Initiation into the A∴A∴ and interpreting Thelema as the resurrection of the presence of the Goddess in Western society. He would formulate his idea for a Gnostic Church that would become a celebration of not only the Goddess but of all serious spiritual pursuits that would attempt to correct the patriarchal error of not only Christianity, but the patriarchal heavy hand of the O.T.O. that he believed failed to understand the works of its founder.

But yet, no vehicle would emerge for him to fully realize the vision that he held so dearly; of crafting the He even suffered great slander in his own family, which fully alienated him. And so it was upon the death of his father that he found reunion with one of his sisters in a wonderfully emotional occasion that yielded a vision of the Goddess who would pronounce for him a prophecy of yet a more important woman to come.

Together with Melissa Swaim (Soror Syrinx), he went on to found the Gnostic Church of L.V.X. in Hoosick Falls, New York, as a non-profit religious organization providing a unique blend of goddess worship, Thelema, and Gnostic reconstruction.
