This woman has been driving me crazy for far too long.
The way she looks, smells, laughs is killing me.
I fell in love with my sister’s best friend.
To top it all off, she’s brilliant. And I’m failing Chemistry.
Of course, when I get her help, she’s laidback about it.
Charming and helpful as always, like she doesn’t know how much I want her.
I’ve got to play it cool and let her see a different side of me.
Melt the ice-man I’ve been just to keep myself in check.
She’s the woman I want in my life forever.
Now to convince her of it…
**The Providence University series is a stand-alone new adult series with an HEA for every book. This book was originally published as Homerun in 2016.**
Ali Parker is a full-time contemporary and new adult romance writer with more than a hundred and twenty books behind her. She loves coffee, watching a great movie, and hanging out with her hubs. By hanging out, she means making out. The man is hot. Hello. She’s a creative at heart and loves coming up with more ideas than any one person should be allowed to access. She lives in Tennessee with her hubs, teenage son, two grown daughters, and two love-of-her-life grandbabies! Telling a good story that revives hope, reminds us of love, and gives a vacation from life is all she’s up to.
Just didn’t care for these characters. Friends to lovers is a tricky trope for me, the author has to work to prove there is a love story. I’m just not a fan of “I’ve been in love with you for year but was out dating and screwing other people anyway”. I don’t know why authors do this. If they want their characters to be out experiences sex with a bunch of people first, then say that there has always been an attraction. But good lord these two characters must have said something similar to “I’ve been in love with” him/her “since I met them” at least 50+ times in this book. Don’t shove it down my throat and then have the character go into details about the relationship/sex life they had with their last partner. Or have the guys get into his condom box and come back with only three left. I get it, you want me to know that these two characters have a lot of sex. But I don’t need to read all of that detailed info while you try to convince me how desperately they have loved each other FOR YEARS. Sorry, but if they had they would have tried to make it work before now. I know people have sex outside of love, I’m not naive. But if you are writing 2 characters who are basically obsessed with each other, then leave the details about other people out of it. The characters don’t have to be virgins (although in these types of ya/na books it actually makes sense) just don’t give all of those details. It completely derailed your story. I don’t believe in either of the characters feelings, and didn’t care when they got together. I didn’t feel their chemistry, the whole thing just felt fake. This is why I don’t really read these authors. I have read a couple before and they went the same way. There is no sincerity.
Wow this book get so hot you may need a cold shower I absolutely could not get enough of this I was hooked from the first page great writing job bravo loved it and if anyone is looking a steamy wonderful read then add this one to your list you will not be disappointed I was not, I loved it
This is book 4 of The Providence University Series by the wonderful, best selling authors Ali and Weston Parker. Now don't worry if you haven't read the other three books as you will be able to understand this, BUT you won't understand and appreciate it as well as if you'd read the full series up to now. In this episode we concentrate on Jayce, Aubrey from book 1's twin brother, and her best friend, Layla, who has one huge secret! Even her best friend, Jacob, doesn't know what it is. Jayce and Layla have known each other all their lives and, secretly crushed on each other most of that time too! There is certainly amazing chemistry between the two of them and even his parents are expecting, and hoping, for them to become a couple. When Layla finally reveals her secret to Jayce, there is a major change in their relationship and it deepens as a result of the trust. I loved how he helped her with her game and I really enjoyed them preparing for Aubrey and Lucas's wedding. This is a great read and one that I've been looking forward to reading - it didn't disappoint at all! A terrific storyline, wonderful characters and who are going to be the next couple in book 5??? I also love the way previous characters are still appearing in the latest books and we see how they are 'getting on'with their lives. Eagerly waiting for book 5 now please. I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Most definitely recommended.
This feels like the story I’ve been waiting the whole series for. When we met Jayce and Layla back at the beginning in the first book, I knew theirs was a story I wanted to know more about. I adored how these two have loved each other since they were children. I loved seeing the future Jayce envisioned for them. My heart hurt over the situation in Layla’s family life, but I really appreciated the way the author handled it. And possibly my favorite part of this book was getting to see where a couple of our favorite couples have progressed to in their relationships. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Ali and Weston Parker definitely knocked "Outta My League" out of the park!!! This book can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading the series in order to get the back stories of the couple's. This story finally brings Jayce and Layla together. Loving each other from afar for years but connected through childhood and Jayce's twin sister Aubrey. Not willing to admit their feelings to each other for fear of ruining their friendship makes life hard on them. Each have serious issues in their lives and once those issues come to light their bond is forever strengthened. Their young lives are ever changing with their love out in the open and with Aubrey and Lucas getting married. Follow Jayce and Layla as they struggle with the choices they have to make in order to move toward their happy ever after. It's great to visit with couples brought together at Providence University and watch them continue to grow. I highly recommend this book along with the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward to see who falls next.
Oh Jayce! He's such a sweetheart! I've been rooting for him and Layla since the beginning! Even though both fighting their feelings for one another you knew in the end it would all worked out! So happy that they finally got their chance! ❤
I have absolutely loved reading this series from Ali and Weston Parker. Each book deals with a different couple yet they all intertwine. They are all friends but act more like family always there for each other in good and bad times. Jayce is captain of his hockey and baseball team who yearns to start a family and has secretly been in love with Layla for years. Layla has loved Jayce from afar since she was a child and has recently had trouble at home. Jayce and Layla’s story was a beautifully well written love story filled with drama, heartache, witty banter, forgiveness, abuse, passion, friendship, and family. Readers will fall in love with Jayce and Layla’s captivating story. “I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.”
Finally, Jayce and Layla's story! They have danced around each other from the time they were kids until now, neither wanted to say anything. Aubrey (who is Jayce's twin sister and Layla's best friend) convinces Layla to rent the other room in Jayce's apartment. The story of their journey shows us how stressful the last semester of college is and also the fun they have too. Another plus is we get to revisit the characters in the other books. This has been a great series that I have truly enjoyed reading. I was honored to voluntarily review this book for an ARC copy and all opinions are mine alone.
Book 4, in the Providence series, this book is about Jayce And Layla. Jayce is a hockey star and Layla is a star on the senior softball team. Layla has been friends with Jayce’s twin sister, Aubrey a several years. Layla has secretly been in love with Jayce since they were kids. She never knew his feelings so kept hers guarded. When Aubrey moves in with Lucas, Layla moves in with Jayce so she doesn’t have to live alone and their friendship slowly turns into something so much more. Soon a darkness from Layla’s past comes into the light and throws their world upside down. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author
5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy novel Outta My League: Pro-U series:Book 4: Jayce and Layla by Ali Parker and this review was given freely. Easy flowing, poignant with a touch of humor and a slow build romance with multiple heartwarming endings. This novel begins at home in Maine for the Christmas holidays during the Moore twins, Jayce and Aubrey's senior year. Emotionally and physically exhausted Providence University business major Jayce Moore is struggling with being dual Captain for the hockey and baseball teams, his sister's wedding and move to Washington, failing his classes and, his unrequited love for his sister's best friend softball team member and abuse victim, Layla Roberts. 18+ for steamy content, language, alcoholism and violence.
The push and pull between Layla and Jayce was frustrating but so worth the wait! I loved the history between them and the friendship makes their love story even sweeter. Such a good book.
Outta My League. I enjoyed this book. The comraderie between the characters was great. I got a better understanding of college life. The characters bring out the best part of love. Expressing your feelings can help show the other person how you feel and these characters showed us their love. I loved the story line. This series has been an interesting one, and a must read series. ***I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's. ***
OUTTA MY LEAGUE (Providence U Book #4) By Ali Parker & Weston Parker What a great continuation of the series this is! We have been acquainted with Jayce and Layla since the 1st book and are familiar with their stories. Jayce is the twin of Aubrey who is the best friend of Layla. They have known each other since they were babies, and loved each other the whole time without telling each other or anyone except Aubrey. In the last semester of their senior year, Layla moves into Jayce’s apartment since she didn’t want to stay in the dorm without Aubrey who moved to be with Lucas. This is a very well developed friends to lovers story with great characters that you are invested in. This is a 5 star read.
Layla and Jayce, the lead pair of the Providence University Book 4 - Outta my League, are born for each other. They both were in love every since they started seeing as kids. But they were unsure of the other half's feeling even after the people around them said it loud. They both were scared to lose each other and afraid of getting rejected by the love of their lives. But when there are too many cupids around them, how their heart can wait for long?
Another great addition to this series and one that I have been waiting for. Jayce and Layla have been friends forever and she is best friends with his sister. They have been tiptoeing around their feelings and avoiding them for a long time. Finally they give in and it is chemistry personified. The story is written well and as always the characters are fantastic to read.
From childhood crush to in love at last. FINALLY, Layla and Jayce's story. I've been waiting for this love story since we met these characters in Book 1 Breaking the Ice and we finally get to join Layla and Jace on their during to a HEA. We've invested in these characters through three books and now we finally get to find out what Layla has been trying to hide from everyone. Does Jayce finally choose to be captain of hockey or baseball? Loved this love story of a childhood crush blooming into a well deserved happyily ever after!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Jayce and Layla are two life-long and close friends who love one another without the other really knowing about it, who find slowly find their way toward one another while living with performance anxiety, family troubles, school and friends. I really like how they see their future and how family is important to both of them. The story is solid and beautiful and characters are strong; it will make you laugh, cry, swoon and love. It was fun to hear about the characters from past books!
I received a compimentary copy of this book from the author and voluntarily reviewing it.
Welcome back to Providence University! Ooh... I just loved reading Jayce and Layla’s story!! It’s well written, interesting storytelling, great characters, lol humor, witty banter, chemistry that’s steamy, angsty, a friends to lovers romance that takes you on a journey to be proud of. Loved this series! I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy provided by the Parker’s Team for my unbiased opinion💋
Layla and Jayce are both great at their chosen sports but that's not all they have in common they have each been in love with the other forever! But neither one has told the other their true feelings. She's his sister's best friend and as he's older he's always thought of her as 'out of bounds' but the time has come for them to both think about how they feel. Trust each other with their feelings and see how far this connection between them can take them.
If they get this right and work together they may get the future they have both dreamed about for so long.
Finally, we get Jayce and Layla's story! I was wondering when these two were going to get a clue. How can two people be so into each other and be totally oblivious to how the other feels? Sigh. Well, at least they finally got over themselves and got together. I loved how Jayce stayed by Layla's side during a family issue. Not many would have stepped in like that. The only thing that unsettled me about this book is the ending... I just felt like there should be at least a LITTLE bit more. But, all in all I loved it.
A really tender and love filled romance. It all just happens so easily.
Layla and Jayce are both in love with each other, but neither knows. They’ve been friends since toddlers and in love since they were six years old. Jayce is 150% emotionally involved with Layla, even if she doesn’t know it. This book will make your heart blossom with happiness. Seeing them both yearn for each other but afraid to say anything. Their back-and-forth flirting is charming and delightful. They are each other’s soulmates and have been for 20 years. A wonderfully written love story.
What an endearing romantic story. I was delighted to "experience" the camaraderie of this crew of friends. It is so wonderful to "see" these types of friendships; warms the cockles of my soul. The friendship-romance-relationship between the two main male and main female characters seemed so seamless, natural and pure. This was a refreshing read as a result. Good Stuff!
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel from the authors and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to these authors.
Layla and Jayce knew each other fair along time as she was best friends with Jayces sister. Each has been in love with each other but said nothing as they thought it couldn’t happen. Everyone around them saw that they loved each other but thought that eventually they would too! When one finally says something and it comes out how they feel will they finally get their HEA? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
When the person you have a crush on is your best friend's brother, you don't say how you feel. He feels the same about you. Everyone else can see it and thinks you see it as well. Sometimes it takes someone telling you what was staring you in the face all along. It is a wonderful book of love with two friends. I can't wait to see what comes next from these two brilliant minds.
Lola is best friend of Jace’s twin sister, they all grew up together. Finally can crushes since in diapers come to something more? Or will family issues, stress and final semester class struggles kept he two apart? Times are changing int he final book of Providence U series. Another page turner by Weston and Ali Parker. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
This is set around Jayce and Layla and how they finely get there happy ever after and the journey they had to take before they get there ending or do they. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Loved Jayce and Layla story, they have been in love with each other but said nothing. Loved it what a great job the author did of telling this story. Loved it!
Layla and Jayce have know each other all their lives. Now college seniors both feel something more is about to happen! Another timeless love story by Ali and Weston Parker. Grest addition to this series.
Jayce and Layla's story was one I was excited to finally read. I've liked them since the first book in the Pro U series. They've known each other for years and have been fighting their feelings. I loved seeing their story unfold. Wonderfully written.
