When I woke up and took in my surroundings, I knew I was in deep trouble. From the way the aliens eyed me, to the silks draped on everything, including me, it wasn't hard to believe I was in a brothel. What I didn't count on was it being upscale.

It's been a while since I've read an alien romance, but this genre is always easy to slip back into for me. I especially love this series by Snow and Bridges as they are fantastic at weaving together humor, a dash of danger and plenty of steamy romance with alpha males and strong females. Castien was particularly swoony in his feelings for Jade, while still being a dominating alpha. I'm excited for the rest of the commanders to find their human mates and see what adventures they encounter! ♡

2.5 stars ⭐️ I found the heroine boring and for me the story lacked any depth and chemistry. My least favourite of the series so far.

I realised that I had read these books before when it opened to the end of the book. But I reread it it was so long ago.
I enjoy Sci Fi because anything goes. There is wit, humour, action, evil, suspense, tension and more as these alpha men set about finding earth woman that may save them.
Earth is dying someone set it on fire. Aliens are looking for the one woman that will awaken their potential but what they find is more than they thought. Along the way they find their mates.
A quick and fun read.

Very, very predictable, extreme stereotype characters with low heat
It is a bit hard to believe this is the same author that wrote the beast and house of Kamir series. Even with lots of action this was such a predictable and boring book a skipped through at least 1/2 of it. Here are more detailed comments
—. It seems this series is following a formula I hate. The hero and heroine get “imprisoned” in this case on a planet and have to figure their way out. It is a trope I find boring and frustrating when it takes up the entire book.
— making it worse it is sooooo predictable. There are no surprises and it is sooooo politically correct in its portrayal of the hero and heroine. There is little edge to this story.
— one of the main reasons I like these sci fi romances is to see the cultural integration/ clash between two civilizations. There is none here.

I am not sure how a book with as much action can be so boring but it is. I read the first chapter of the next book and it seems to be following the same pattern. Good grief. It is particularly mystifying because I just finished reading the last installment of this authors beast series and it was fantastic.

Castien and Jade
Castien the darkblood rescues Jade from the Auction. However their problems didn't stop there. They were on the run for most of the book because of a communication problem with their ship.

I have really enjoyed reading through this series. The world and character development were topnotch. The story lines throughout each book has been consistently well paced and definitely keeps you turning pages. The steam level was high, and the author gives the bonus of strong female personalities. I loved the humor, and the references to common pop culture had me laughing out loud at times. Will definitely keep reading not only this series, but other works by Miranda Bridges.

Story seemed fragmented, didn't flow.
The characters' reasoning skills didn't make sense to me. Also, what made him so charismatic that every female fall into his bed? Pheromones, magic, what? The story seemed "choppy" and not totally thought out. The first two books in this series were a much better read for me.

I was really looking forward to this one. I do love dark and brooding aliens but alas, he was more crude than anything. Also, stories that have the main characters run for their lives and then have romantic dinners in public with lots of sex at what seem to be very inappropriate times (remember ‘run for their lives’) doesn’t cut it. Disappointed very.

Each book in the series develops the storyline and just gets better and better. Castien, is the commander of the Darkbloods he controls the shadows, has a poison mist and is deadly with a blade. He is also sexy as sin and inspires lust in many but not the heart felt connection he longs for. He wants someone to look beyond his looks and his command and see the man within. He's on a mission to rescue human women from being sold in to slavery. His mission has taken him to a pleasure planet to find Jade. He doesn't hold out a lot of hope any more of finding his one true mate so he just want to finish his rescue mission and move on. That is until he sees Jade and in that instant he knows that she is his mate the one who can bring about his full potential but also be the other half of his soul. Jade wakes up after being sold to a brothel on a pleasure planet she is going to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. She hates being helpless and defenceless. She has always been dependent on those around her and all she wants is to eh able to take care of her self. When she encounters Castien, he's there to bid on her but there is this instant recognition one she doesn't understand, but she feels that she can be safe with him. Of course nothing goes right Castien is out bid and it he wants his mate he will when to fight for her and help her become strong. This is where the adventure begins. As they his and fight their way off the planet they unravel the mysteries of each other and discover and embrace the passion and love between them. She heals his heart and he helps her to realize how strong and courageous she really is. Great book and I'm looking forward to more in the series. Co-written by Miranda Bridges and Kyra Snow, this Elemental Mates series follows elemental aliens and their human female mates. It takes place on Earth during a post-apocalyptic event where a fire wiped out most of humanity and burned the planet, leaving its remaining population starved and desperate. Earth wasn’t just dying; it was also full of people who had gone insane. Everyone resorted to a primitive state and they only cared about survival, doing whatever was necessary to ensure that. That involved murder, rape, theft, and copious amounts of violence. People scavenged for food and took refuge inside compounds against threats from other humans. The Koraxians came to Earth in search of females that were capable of unlocking their elemental potential. Nanobots swept over the Koraxian females, leaving the remaining immortal males unable to access their elemental powers and on the brink of extinction. Their desperation to find compatible alternatives led them to Earth, where they successfully found more than what they were looking for.
Written in first person, Obsidianis book 3 in the series, and follows Commander Castien of the Darkbloods and his human mate Jade. Jade was a part of Hazel’s group that got abducted by the Torags in book 1. She was sent to the slave planet Lixis and placed for auction. Castien traveled to Lixis specifically to save Jade as his assignment after Blaze swapped her for Kayla in book 2. As fate would have it, Jade was Castien’s fated mate. He was outbid the last second by a sadist during her auction and he saved her from being raped by him. The two spent the majority of the book running from law enforcement and assassins, but the couple grew closer during their time together. Jade was tired of constantly being a victim, and after their mating gave her immortality and powers, she welcomed the reprieve.
The couple had their first intercourse in chapter 10, at the 54% mark. The buildup was balanced and kept the reader hooked. The raunchy scenes are the only reason I read this genre of books, so I’m glad the authors didn’t hold back. Castien’s full potential was unlocked, but there was a side effect (or bonus depending on your perspective); Jade was transformed into a Koraxian mate, gaining dark powers herself, adapting his hair color and birth marks, along with immortality. After a lot of unnecessary drama, the two admit their love for each other and live happily ever after.
I will say that I loathed each character in this book equally. Castien’s ego was too big for his head. He was so attractive that women threw themselves at him. One was ballsy enough to kiss him, and Jade walked in on it, then threw a hissy fit about it. She acknowledged that he wasn’t to blame, yet still blamed him. That wasn’t even what bothered me the most about Jade; it was her stubbornness. She was so adamant about taking care of herself that she tore her feet up by walking barefoot through Lixis. Even after Castien practically begged to carry her. Like she had some point to prove, which only made her look foolish. Ugh. The lack of wisdom and maturity during an apocalypse is astounding. But it’s like I’ve said before: a fictional character is limited to the levels of their author. They can always be less, but never be more.
So far, this series is good. Plenty of lust-filled raunch and I like how the authors incorporated magic into an alien romance. I recommend the read. I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

First of all this book was absolutely hilarious, Jade was so funny and Castien’s internal monologuing was funny for different reasons. This is book 3 in the series, and I love that each book is totally it’s own. Yes, it connects to the previous stories but Kyra and Miranda have absolutely nailed adding totally different character personalities and perspectives and new information in each new book. Some books follow the same old “search and rescue” story which seems like a template and all very much the same for each book which becomes boring, but each book in this series has been totally different in the best kind of way which totally keeps me hooked as a reader. From the different scenarios and the different scenery/world(s?) building and interactions this series has so many twists and themes within the “alien” realm. I loved that we seen a different side to Castien than how he’s been portrayed and the growth Jade went through and how their relationship bloomed. Perfect balance of story and steam🔥 These books have each been amazing but this one had me downright lol’ing so has earned the top spot for me! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!

These books are fast and hilarious in a B-Movie kind of way.
The only comments I have on this one is the strange way women were written? Like....every single woman was so hard up for Casian that they were throwing themselves at him and even willing to sell his wife into slavery for a chance to sleep with him? Like.....what? That really took me out. If this book was longer I would have more to say I'm sure but the conflict was over in like 2 pages
So where my usual criticism of these books is that they are so short that everything happens too quickly with no buildup just Bam Bam Bam, that actually worked in this books favor because I would not have been able to handle the misogyny weirdness otherwise.

Third book in the series. I enjoyed this one more than the first two. The MMC was actually pretty sweet and attentive in a way the other two were not. The FMC is delightful. She develops from someone shy and uncertain to real powerhouse. And the MMC does a great job of reflecting her greatness back to her in such a way that she really can see for herself how strong she is.
The female characters in this genre are forever ending up with almost no clothes on. My favorite line in this book comes when the MFC is pulling herself together after the latest miserable thing that happened," “Okay,” Jade says, brushing the hair from her face while fixing her scant clothing like a general about to lay waste to an army. “I’m ready now.”"

He was on a rescue mission to save a human felmale that's compatible to their race. He found her at a brothel , saved her from a pervert alien and the madam. His special powers is death. And shes is mate. They are now being chased by law enforcement and bounty hunters. They get to know one b e another till his crew can get them away. Bounty hunters capture him, she somehow found 2 of his crew members and they find him and save him. Back to earth with a few of the refugees that they found. Trouble happens between them but it worked out.

This was an amazing book that had me hooked from the second that I started reading. The pace at which it moves along makes for a very comfortable read. The characters are unique and you feel as though you know them and you want to be there with them, to give them support no matter what they need to do. the story will keep you reading from beginning to end and when you get to the end you need more. This is a must read, you will not be sorry that you did.

This book was a good continuation of the series. This one is where Castien is assigned to find Jade. She has been kidnapped and set to be auctioned. Castien and his shipmates are disappointed that the other human female refugees are not mate matches. Castien is doubtful that Jade is his mate too by this time, but he made a promise to Blaze to bring his mate’s friend back. Read On!

I enjoyed this book much more than the second story. Castien was a lovable flirt. Until he met his mate Jade. Then, she was his everything. Only problem is he’s so good looking and sexy, women are constantly throwing themselves at him. There’s lots of action in this story along with sexy times. With the help of her mate Jade comes into her own as she develops the same powers as Castien. Very entertaining. I recommend this story.

Only problem is he’s so good looking and sexy, women are constantly throwing themselves at him. There’s lots of action in this story along with sexy times. With the help of her mate Jade comes into her own as she develops the same powers as Castien. Very entertaining. I recommend this story.

Don't bother.
I wanted to like this book so bad. Castian was a great character. His powers were awesome. This author completely ruined it. Jade is stupid. I hate weak and headstrong to the point of stupidity characters. The character Jade is written to be so stupid. I stopped reading at 76%. I was almost done with the book, but I just couldn't finish it. That's too bad Castian was a great.

This as a solid, middle-of-the-road read for me. I knew what it was going to be when I started it: insta-love with an action plot bonus, and that's what I got. I'm mostly satisfied, though I did end up skimming towards the end, but there's not much to complain about. Reading Obsidian makes me feel like most of the time when I rate books, it's very much against what my initial expectations are of it and less so about the actual quality of the writing and story.

The 3rd book in the Elemental Mate series delivers the perfect mix of wit, tension, and heat. Castien is swoon-worthy but a little annoying at first—he's attractive and he really knows it, constantly having females falling over him. When it comes to Jade he is genuinely sweet in his dedication.

I really like this book the elemental series is really starting to become one of my favorites. I love watching Jade turn from being a shy and weak girl. To a women that has so much strength. And I really can't say weak I think that she was just scared and who wouldn't be in her situation. But this is a must read. Castian brought out so much of that shy girl. I loved it.

I feel for Jade. Unsure of what she has landed into, but knowing that it's not good. Trying to survive and being uncertain about the future. Castien, the cocky commander, while positive that he will never meet his mate, rescues her from certain slavery. But will saving Jade from the trouble she finds herself, really save him? Will their relationship become the future he desires the most?

This was not only refreshing,the plot kept getting more interesting by pages, the suspense alone was amazing. This couple we through a lot to stay alive, but lots of plays we t in to it, talk about naughtiness and a bit a kink. Holy Moly Wow! Loving this series so much ❤️

Exciting
The whole series is just so exciting. I love how there are always scary situations for the girls to get out of and hot,sexy aliens to be brought to their knees. And Jade and The Dark Knight? OMG!! Their chemistry just jumps off the page and you just can’t help but root for the two of them in their adventures. Loved it!

Dark, dangerous and scary
This story is scary after Jade wakes from cryo sleep. Then it is very dark and becomes dangerous with so many different beings after them. Then Jade finds her strength and learns to take care if herself when she takes a stand against those who want to harm her and her mate. Well worth reading

Fave so far
I really enjoyed this book because of the couple and especially the female MC. Good banter and Batman references plus the female growing into a badass who won’t disappoint *herself*? This was the magic combo for me. I have problems with this genre but some of these books are just the sort of light reading I need. They’re usually meh but this one was just right.

Great Story
Castian is Sex on !she and only has eyes for one small, insecure human with confidence issues. He sees her strength and drags it out of her during a dangerous cat and mouse chase threw a Slave planet. They have more the the locals hunting them down though. Castings sex appeal leaks threw the pages like honey.
