Xmas Dust is book four in the Elsie Creek by Mel A. Rowe. Monet does not enjoy Christmas, so she except a contract to look after a rural property while the owners were on holiday. However, the owner, Tim, was still in residence when Monet arrived on the property, and Monet could not leave due to a tropical storm, so Monet stayed. The readers of Xmas Dust will continue to follow Monet and Tim to discover what happens.

Xmas Dust is a lovely sweet romance set in Rural Australia. Mel A. Rowe's writing style ensures that I engage with the stories, and Xmas Dust kept up the tradition. I love Mel A. Rowe's portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. Xmas Dust is well-written and researched by Mel A. Rowe. I like Mel A. Rowe's description of the settings of Xmas Dust which allows me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

The readers of Xmas Dust will understand the role of a bush pilot in rural communities. Also, the readers of Xmas Dust will learn some of the issues suffers of bipole has with friends and families.

I recommend this book.

I do love visiting Elsie Creek with all of the characters I have made friends with and this one is Christmas time woohoo, I do love a good Chrissy story and even better when the heroine the wonderful bush pilot Monet is a grouch at Christmas time and then you have Tim the farmer who this year is not celebrating anything, can these two actually have a great Christmas with a cyclone bearing down on Elsie Creek?

Monet is the fun sassy, spirited and vivacious bush pilot, who fly’s around in the red plane, broomstick and all, she is constantly helping people and is always there for anyone and this Christmas she is farm sitting and looking forward to being alone and away from everyone at Christmas time, Christmas holds some bad memories for Monet. When she arrives at Rigby Downs she finds Tim at home and not in the best of ways, this is not what Monet wants but Tim is her best friend since forever and even though things have been a bit strained for the past year she will do her best to get her old Tim back.

Tim is drowning everything he can at the moment with alcohol and he forgot to cancel Monet’s contract and as much as he tells her to leave she is determined to stay put and with a cyclone bearing down on them she is a fabulous help getting things prepared. They make their own Christmas and talk a lot about what has happened in the last year and Tim realizes how much he is missing his best friend, when the cyclone hits they take cover in the bathroom together and Tim can feel his heart coming back to normal.

Elsie Creek is in trouble after the cyclone hits and Monet takes off at daybreak to help as many people as she can in her little red plane, Tim gets into town with Alex and they are doing their bit to help and Tim is trying to find Monet he cannot let her fly off before he lets her know his true feelings for her. He finds her eventually at the remains of her home The Elsie Creek Inn and he opens up and so does Monet there were tears of joy for me, I loved Monet and Tim what a couple.

This is a beautifully written story with all the emotions that had me turning the pages and opens up the Northern Territory for me and the people that live there, they have big hearts and are a fun lot of people to be with especially in Elsie Creek, I loved this story so very much (and the series) bring on Elsie Creek 5. Thank you author Mel A Rowe for my copy to read, this is one that I do highly recommend.

I am in love with Elsie’s Creek, it’s inhabitants (both humans and animals) and all of the history that surrounds the town! Monet and Tim are another couple that you can’t help but fall for:)!

The atmosphere of the series reminds me of a Australian tv series called “Macleods daughters”
and I loved that series. If you have seen and loved that series you will definitely love these books too;)! I also love that Mel A. Rowe draws from her own experiences with cyclones and other stuff too, but you can read about her experiences in her acknowledgments.

Monet is a bush pilot who as a child experienced a trauma unlike any and gets rescued by Tim’s father and mother in their plane(triggers from the first chapter is mother in chock and stillborn baby, dad missing).
This day Tim promises Monet to take care of her from now on (he is nine swoon).

About ten years later or so Tim lost his father and his fiancé (who cheated on him) and has inherited the family farm! He hasn’t seen or talked to Monet for two years but he totally shot down after loosing his father.
Normally on Christmas he visits his mother who left the farm, but this year he wallows at home drowning his sorrows of loosing his fiancé in beer and cricket on tv. But suddenly the whirlwind named Monet comes to manage the farm in his absence and the wallowing is over.
While they rekindle their friendship and maybe become more they also have a cyclone warning they have to prepare for. And this Christmas changes everything for them both;)!

I already fell for this couple in the first chapter and their friendship and love is so amazing and epic. And that they figure it all out on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while having been through a cyclone is beautiful because they meet at Christmas Day after a cyclone too.

Everything just fits together and has a red thread throughout the story. The town of Elsie’s Creek Is the center of the events and the inhabitants of the town sticks together and helps everyone in need of help.

I can definitely recommend this book.

What words do I use to describe this book? Sweet, Funny, Outback, Love, Romance, Xmas, Aeroplanes, Loss, Trust and Forgiveness. These are all great words to describe this story but If you are like me and have read all the books in this wonderful series there is simply only one word that comes to mind - HOME.

Reading an "Elsie Creek" book is like going home, everyone is familiar, drama is always around the corner where you can always count on the community and your neighbour to lend a hand when needed. A true Aussie town is what the author Mel A Rowe brings in every story she writes.

Monet is more than just of the owner of the Unofficial Elsie Creek Inn she is the local bush pilot that hates Xmas. But she does have a tradition for the holidays to disappear to Rigby Downs to farm sit, in the middle of nowhere with no one around.

As they say, the best-laid plan can always crumble down around you when Monet arrives she finds the owner of the cattle station still on the property but in no working or functioning ability. Drunk and cranky on the couch watching cricket.

This story started over 20 years ago with one little red toy plane one broken-hearted little girl on Xmas day. Will the friendship the two have forged over this time be ending or is it just a little bump in the road/runway.

This book left me feeling happy and excited about the next lot of characters I will get to read about next.

This is book four in The Elsie Creek Series and it is Monet and Tim's story. Monet and Tim have been best friends for years and they will do anything for each other so when things go bad for Tim it is Monet that is there to pull him through which is not easy as he doesn't want help and of course they are both so stubborn. A storm is approaching and they have to work together not prepare the farm and help the community to make sure everyone is safe but what will it keen for Tim and Monet. I absolutely love this book and I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. This is the first book that I have read by Mel but definitely not the last as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.

Monet follows a trail of empty beer cans to find the posh prince aka Tim passed out on the couch when she gets to his cattle station to house-sit over the Christmas holidays. Tim in his drunken stupor after breaking up with his cheating ex, has not only left the house a complete mess, but forgot to cancel Monet’s contract. Monet has no plans on leaving till her contract is done as she was all set to spend Christmas alone as she does every year and Tim is not going change her plans. Monet refuses to let Tim wallow in his misery as she comes up with all sorts of fun tricks to get him out of bed and back to participating in life as she tries to get her best friend back to his old self. With a bad cyclone coming, Tim and Monet will have to work together to get everything battened down & as they wait out the cyclone things heat up as they are stuck in close quarters. Tim’s seeing things with a fresh perspective as Monet pushes him to fight for his happiness and Tim realizes his future has been next to him the entire time as he loves Monet. Before Tim can tell her how he feels, Monet leaves to help with rescue efforts and when things get dicey for Monet, Tim knows exactly what to do to bring her home.

This is the fourth book in the Elsie Creek Series Book series by Mel A. Rowe. This is a friends to lovers romance set in a rural setting in the outback. I really enjoyed this story from its characters, the setting (which was a new one for me), to the storyline. I enjoyed this book so much that I purchased book one to go back and read for myself.

Monet's transformation: inspiring story with strong female lead👍👍

4.5🌟stars
🌏 Having read every book in this Outback romance series by Mel Rowe, I rate this as one of the best, right after The Art of Dust. There's a solid understanding and love for the characters, wildlife, expansive landscapes and Outback way of life packed into this story. But I really liked the focus on Monet and Tim. The town's quirky characters and other couples really are just footnote side elements and allow the relationship between the main characters to shine.

The prologue scene is a real gutwrencher. It also serves to explain Monet's antipathy for Christmas and all its trappings. I thought the first part of the current-day story might be a bit confusing and cryptic for a reader new to the series (Cecil the water buffalo needs some background, for example, as does the town's tutu brigade!) but then the story settled in on its own merits. Monet has been a fleeting presence in the series and here her struggles and secrets are revealed. Turns out flying and brave individuality run in the family of this intrepid bush pilot with a generous heart.

This is a sweet romance with just twinges of heat and plenty of action and drama thanks to the weather and Tim's mom and ex. And you can't ever forget the setting while reading; the Outback is grand, omnipresent and key to the beginning of the couple's friendship and their future.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book provided through Booksprout; this is my voluntary and honest review.

I can't do anything else than recommend this book, this series, this author to read.

Mel A. Rowe once again transported me to Elsie Creek where the life is though on a good day but you can count on the community to dig you up from the dust. Such a special place to read about and learn something new of the outback way of life in every story.

I found Monet a beautifully strong female character. Who, despite her family tragedy and the stigma it brought with it, with her bush pilot services, became a very important pillar of the community only known and acknowledged by a handful of people. She piqued my interest in the previous books so I was glad I got to understand her ways this time around. She deserved her happy ending with Tim after pining for each other since childhood. I loved their idea of christmas tree and could just imagine the bathtub in the backyard.

Mel A. Rowe wrote a heartfelt, emotional story. The first ever chapter actually made me cry and that's not an everyday occurence. Reading this book made me think about how privileged I am to live in a big city surrounded by shops, pharmacies and hospitals on every corner. And it also made me to be grateful for such selfless people as Monet, whether they be imaginary or real.

Tim and Monet met on Christmas day, the day that the world as she knew it came to an end. Losing her family the little girl went to live with her grandma. She and Tim, the privileged prince as she called him, became besties. Even though his mom did not give her the time of day he and his dad made her feel part of their family. But she always kept her real feelings to herself while letting Tim see only glimpses of her vulnerability. As a bush pilot she was saving people but always ran from letting someone save her. Until the day couldn't resist having more with Tim, even if for just one night. Will he let her get away this time, this special girl who cares more for others than herself? And will she finally be able to stop running from her past. I am new to this writer and the series but I loved the book. Am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Tim and Monet have known each other a long time, but have been distant as of late. She runs the Inn and is also the bush pilot. He runs the farm and is in a miserable state - drunk, listless, and sorry for himself. Monet is supposed to be house sitting there over Christmas - not a happy holiday for her so she wants to be alone - but finds her old friend there and decides she wants the old Tim back. Their banter and loud music bring each other out of themselves. The locale is full of interesting people and quirky things that happen. The story is so good and the series just keeps getting better. Suspense in the storm and its aftermath, but good people do prevail.

Christmas does not seem like a happy time for the main characters. Bush pilot Monet is house-sitting this Christmas which suits her fine to be by herself. But her old friend, Tim, decided to stay home instead and forgot to cancel the contract. There is some bad weather coming which may cause more trouble than they realize.

The two use their time to talk about the past, and it helps Tim to recognize how much he has missed her. Sheltering in the small bathroom also lends its healing touch. But the damage done by the cyclone spurs Monet to go out and help the people of the town. Did her own home survive the storm? Will her situation give them both a chance to finish what they needed to say to each other?

This was such a sweet story. Grab your copy and find out if there is a HEA to be found among the wreckage! Something magical always comes at Christmas, so there should be some hope for them.

I do love a Christmas story and being set in Elsie Creek made it even better!

Xmas Dust is book 4 in the Elsie Creek series and once again I was thoroughly entertained. These books can be read as stand-alone stories, but I find that having read the others it is great getting updates on how the other couples are going but I will not give any spoilers.

Mel Rowe captures the vibrancy of the Northern Territory so well, her words come alive in front of your eyes, you feel the heat and the weather challenges especially the cyclone that features in this story and you love the quirky townsfolk especially Cecil the Water Buffalo and Karma the Crocodile.

Xmas Dust is based on the sassy pilot Monet and Tim the handsome cattleman (who I had a soft spot for after reading Diamond in the Dust). This story gives us the back story to how Monet and Tim became lifelong best friends and I found the opening chapter very powerful.

Monet in past stories comes and goes and I enjoyed learning why she lives the way she does. Monet is fiercely independent and not a fan of Christmas and is looking forward to her farm stay at Tim's over the festive break. Tim is heartbroken after splitting from his Fiance and is not going anywhere and is surprised when Monet turns up as he forgot to cancel the farm sit. Both are stubborn and both are not leaving, I love how Monet pushes his buttons and attempts to snap him out of his misery.

Meanwhile, a cyclone is on its way and they need to work together to prepare the farm and support Elsie Creek and it's residents.

Mel writes beautiful heartfelt stories that truly entertain and leave you wanting more.... already keen to know who Book 5 will be about! Highly recommend this series, thanks to Mel for the chance to read an advanced copy of her new book due out on the 23rd of October 2020.

I loved the story of Monet and Tim! It was fantastic and I could not put the book down!!! This is the story of Monet and Tim. He wants nothing to do with the holidays and decides to stay on the farm. Only he forgot to cancel the contract with Monet to house sit. Monet is looking forward to getting away from the holidays. Imagine her surprise when she discovers Tim is still home. Will these two find their Christmas spirit after all? I enjoyed this entertaining romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Xmas Dust is the fourth book in the Elsie Creek Series. I loved this story and the series. Monet and Tim are wonderful characters and the town of Elsie Creek sounds like a great place to live; a place where everyone knows and supports those around them. Will Monet and Tim be able to resolve their feelings and overcome the past as they help the town deal with a cyclone?

Monet's life got off to a bad start & stigma has followed her all of it. She made something of her self becoming a pilot & running the unofficial Elsie Creek Inn. A saving grace for her community. You meet up again with the regulars & all their quirks.

Tim was once her friend however with an ex behind him his life has changed dramatically. Monet ends up at his property to fulfil a contract however with him wallowing in self pity & a storm approaching she has a lot to deal with. Life definitely gets interesting for this couple. I admired Monet with all her gutsiness & how she endeared everyone in the end.

I've enjoyed getting to know all the characters in this series & outback life with all its trials & tribulations. If you're a fan of this community then this won't disappoint.

Adventures and a romantic tale in wild Australia!
by Happy-Girl
loved this book! I loved the idea of a free wild pilot, a young woman, a WW WW (Wicked Witch of the Westerly Winds) that drive a little plane with a straw broom painted on its underbelly!
Monet lived a tragedy during her childhood: because of a flood, her father and baby brother died.
The only light in her life: her friendship with Tim, the Posh Prince, a handsome boy, now a man, with whom she could share her thoughts and dreams.
So, in the wilderness of Australia, the reader experiences sadness, freedom, solidarity, love!
This novel is not only a love story with a HEA, but also a celebration of life!

Christmas on the Station

This author is one of the first I read last year who bases her novels squarely in the Northern Territory of Australia. She grounds her stories with an incredible sense of place. She makes the reader feel the dust and see the stark but beautiful surroundings. This book does exactly that, right from the start. The book is also filled with lots of Aussie slang; you might need to look some of it up to fully understand what the author is talking about! It's Christmas time in Australia. Though it is summer, it is the rainy season where the book takes place. She pulls us right into a terrible scene, which we see unfold through the eyes of a naïve child. You can't help but feel for the little girl as it becomes clear what has happened and is happening. We then flash forward to when that little girl is a grown woman and about to take her Christmas holiday farm sitting at a distant station. I really liked the heroine in this book. I wasn't wild about the hero. Even though he was shown to be a nice little boy in the first scene, when we first meet him as a man, he's not at his best self... which is putting it mildly. Still, all in all, I like the way this author presents place and characters.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

"She was trouble. She was chaos. She was passion. Most of all, she felt like home to him."

Monet intrigued me in Caked in Dust, and I'm so thrilled to have read her story. This is a must read book - a wonderful frenemies to lovers romance set around Christmas in Elsie Creek. All of Monet's secrets are bared in this book. Her character is so multi-layered, and she's not who she seems, but much more. There are so many good things to love in this book... Cecil (the water buffalo) and Karma (the three-legged croc) are back... The nicknames that Tim and Monet have for each other (Posh Prince and Claude)... Such a surprise to find out who the roof tagger is... The bathtub in the yard... The incredible way that the town pulls together after the destruction of the cyclone... Monet facing her fears to do what she thought was impossible... As always, the author's descriptions make me feel like I was there, sharing in the laughter and tears.

Tim acted like a spoiled brat when Monet shows up at his ranch to take care of it over Christmas per the contract he signed with her. Yes, he hired he to work, but she didn’t sign up to be his maid after he trashed the place, upset over his fiancé cheating and she certainly didn’t sign up to be his personal chef. He makes so many assumptions in this book about Monet without asking her or anyone close to her. Monet was prickly, brash, and laugh out loud with all noise she uses to wake hung over Tim up, but she has a big heart, flying and landing in difficult situations to save peoples’ lives. She even keeps her family hostel like inn open to stragglers and those stranded from their home. Tim changes his tune when he learns the truth, but my first impression of him left a bad taste in my mouth.

Christmas had long held dark memories for Monet. The gift of a red toy plane from Tim was one thing that gave her some joy on the conclusion of many days filled with tragedy.

Monet flies the mail from station to station and moves supplies and people as necessary. Her head for accounting and a strong skill at flying keep her afloat, even with a bruised heart

The cattle stations are hard places to eke out a living, and the small handful of residents and businesses around Elsie Creek are home to hardy folks with big hearts buried somewhere within

Xmas Dust (Elsie Creek Series) by Mel A Rowe. After reading a few other stories in this series I knew I would be in for a treat with Xmas Dust and Mel A Rowe did not disappoint. It was everything I was expecting and more. I enjoyed this story; it moved at a fast pace, but it was easy to follow along with. Just enough drama to make things interesting. I enjoyed the author’s attention to detail, creative storytelling, charismatic setting and strong characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book 4 in a wonderful series and just as great as the previous books. You can read this one without reading the previous books but trust me, you'll want to read the previous books in the series. Characters you can't help but love, they feel like family, are realistic and easy to relate to. The story line pulls you in and keeps you glued to the pages making it so you can't stop reading. You don't want to miss this book or this series.
