She thought that her life couldn’t get any stranger. Boy, was she wrong.
Rosemary Bell’s ex-husband is now a turtle, she’s suddenly witch royalty, her daughter Maggie's new best friend is an imaginary kangaroo hopping around the forests of Mosswood, Georgia, and her Witch King, Declan, isn’t making her life or her couch’s throw pillows any cushier.
Just as she’s starting to fall for Declan, a shocking confession leaves her reeling and Rosie wonders whether she is really meant to be the queen of anything. When a sexy bombshell arrives in town with her eyes set on Rosie’s King and crown, she will have to decide for herself what her destiny is - and soon.
Struggling between caring for Declan and caring for herself and Maggie, Rosie does her best to rise above the woman’s provocation. But when Maggie is kidnapped on All Hallow’s Eve, Rosie has no choice but to trust Declan and work together to get her daughter back. After an intense magical ritual brings her new powers full circle, Rosie finds out that jealousy’s a witch - literally!
I did enjoy this one a lot better than the first one! Now that we know the characters better I'm more invested in the town and the bigger mystery! I do think I will keep going with the series since I always love having a quick cozy mystery on the go!
Wow! I do not want to give away any spoilers as that ruins the book for everyone, I know for sure if you read book 1 you have already got this on pre-order or you have the date in your diary ready to read on to find out how Rosie will progress as Queen of the Lost, and whether the prophecy as Declan's betrothed will progress,
Let me say this Louise West has written a world I want to be in, the characters feel like they are becoming my friends, I can watch fondly as little Maggie sasses her momma, I can laugh at the antics of Randy the turtle winking with Rosie as we share the secret of his origins, I can admire Declan and his charms. This is such a good series, and I am engrossed I love it. This book left me with one lasting lesson from Matt 7.1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Rosemary (Rosie) Bell thought things were looking up. She and Maggie were settling in the cottage. Her ex-husband is a turtle and her romance with Declan is wonderful, but all of that comes crashing down when she discovers he’s been keeping a secret.
Rosie and Maggie have a house guest when one woman in town leaves her husband. Tammy was delightful and a good friend to Rosie. I loved all the antics with the townfolk, particularly at the dance. It was hard seeing Declan on the outs.
When Maggie is kidnapped, we learn some truths and Rosie will need to rely on Declan to save her daughter.
This was another quick escape that offered a mix of humor, suspense and a touch of romance. Invisible kangaroos and naughty turtles added to the story.
Johanna Parker narrates and does a lovely job of capturing these characters, even Declan’s lyrical accent. At just under five hours, these stories are perfect listens you can enjoy in a single evening.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m now a fan! Definitely going to back track and read the first book. I always seem to accidentally read the second book in a series. It’s kinda “my thing” I guess 😂 I love her characters. They are all so fun and unique. I read this in two days and honestly the shorter length of this book is so appealing to me. I struggle with books over 300 pages. Can’t wait to read more from this author!!
Rosie is gradually fitting into Mosswood her adopted home. Of course, most of the people in Mosswood aren’t magical, so they don’t know she is a witch. Which brings its own set of problems, as well as a rival. I don‘t want to give any more of the plot away, so I will say if you enjoyed New Witch on the Block, you’ll love Jealousy a Bitch. I snorted with laughter at one point and think the story is both broadening and deepening. I just wish Louisa wrote as quickly as I am reading! The next in the series We Witch you a Merry Christmas is due out in December.
Well like I just said, she went and did it again This second book in her series is just as entertaining as her first. You won't be disappointed, I know I wasn't, and I've already ordered the third book. Can't wait. Blessings
Rosie is settling in to life in Mosswood. Her daughter loves school, Tammy has become her best friend, and she’s thinking that she wants to pursue a relationship with Witch King Declan. However, queue the record scratch when a sophisticated, well dressed enchantress arrives and announces she is Declan’s wife! Rosie kicks Declan out of the cottage and tries to get on with her life without him, but things just get worse and weirder as Halloween approaches. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.
Ms West’s second book in the Mosswood series does not disappoint. Certain events make Rosie question everything she’s learned so far about her life, romance, and how easy it can be to bend the truth.
There’s more than one showdown in this book, and each one is glorious in its own way. We learn more about Tammy, and it’s easy to see why she’s become Rosie’s best friend, and as always, I love the relationship between Rose and her daughter, Maggie. Plenty of girl power here in all its subtle and not-so-subtle forms.
Oh, and that moment when a certain snapping turtle makes himself known... I laughed so hard. Lots to love with this book.
Tammy showed up at the end of the last book after having caught her husband in the act of cheating. Rosie allows her to stay but, everyone from the church continues to turn up at her house trying to pressure Tammy into going back to her husband. Rosie finds a makeshift poppy under Maggie's bed and it reeks of black evil magic. She confronts Declan about it and he admits he put it there to protect Maggie stating that it had obviously served it's purpose by absorbing any attacks on her. She is furious and sends him packing. Everything from that point on sets all we believed from the first books is on it's proverbial ear.
This is a good series, fun, entertaining, interesting and engaging. I highly recommend this series and am off to devour the next book in series.
Get ready everyone because Rosie is back! Once again all kinds of craziness happens in this small town. Is Declan who he presents himself as or does he have alterior motives? New friends join her circle, and she's slowly getting more comfortable with this witch business. However pushy, obnoxious towns people and a mysterious new woman in town make things more than a little annoying. A fun series to dive into each and every time!
This book is the story of women overcoming adversity with a bit of romance. The author did a good job of melting together a cozy romance with a paranormal mystery. Personally, I feel sorry for these women that they didn't change their circumstances sooner. I find Declan more likeable than he was in the first book but he continues to be overbearing. He does redeem himself somewhat though. Mostly this is a book of courage that doesn't even need the romance to be a great read.
This series is proving to be a great one! The second book didn't disappoint! The characters are wonderful and the book just flowed. The story had a few surprises! If you like cozy witchy type books you will love this series. Can't wait to read the 3rd book
There's nothing quite like the appearance of an estranged spouse to throw a spanner in the works
This was another fun read. This the second book in this series. Rosie continues her magical journey but her budding relationship with Declan runs into a few bumps when his estranged wife turns up. Complications and plot twists abound. Old ties are broken and new ones formed in this fun combination of The Good Witch and Practical Magic. Roll on book three.
I highly recommend this phenomenal book and the hilarious series in which it is to all readers of paranormal women's fiction, as well as readers who love a good laugh at poetic justice. Enjoy!
I still liked Rosie here in Jealousy’s a Witch, and I liked the addition of Maggie as a character. But I didn’t like this plot as much as the previous book. I think the jealous ex girlfriend/wife/etc as the villain is super over-used and cliched.
I respected the heck out of Maggie for immediately taking action when she saw red flags, but also her ability to not overreact (or maybe West’s willingness to not over-blow all the emotions). I also appreciate that West subverted the ‘overheard conversation causes a misunderstanding’ trope by allowing an overheard conversation to smooth over a misunderstanding.
All in all, I’m enjoying the series and will likely continue it at some point. But I think I’ve had enough for the moment.
Love this series. Great characters who make you love them and who you want to know more about. It was fun to find out more in depth of several this time!!!❤❤❤
Rosie is mostly enjoying life in the small town of Mosswood. However, can she trust Decklan with her heart and daughter's well being? A beautiful stranger comes to town looking for Declan. Complications abound. She finds that she must dig deep into her magic to protect her loved ones. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
This was a good addition to the series. It kept me guessing up until the end. There were some great twists in the story and so much I didn't see coming. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one.
Rosie, Declan, Maggie, and the other members of the town of Mosswood, Georgia are back for the second installment, and it was fantastic. An evil wife, unfaithful husband, a faithless preacher’s wife mixed in with magic and loves lost and found. A magical read.
