But something has gone wrong. Some other being has possessed a portion of his soul. James is a professional historian whose published works include two histories of the Inquisition, a documentary history of Columbus's first voyage, a transcription of a colonial era account book from Weymouth, Massachusetts, and a global history of piracy. This means that he is a professional teller of stories, both real and imagined.
James's favorite author is J.R.R. Tolkien, though he will never be able to watch the Peter Jackson Hobbit films again. The first viewing nearly gave him a fit. He loves The Giver and The Book Thief. He has read all the Hunger Games novels, but thinks Katniss should have ended up with Gale. (Sorry Peeta fans.) He enjoys Harry Potter and thinks magic should be real--so long as he owns the Elder Wand.

Light fascinated Kell's mother. She often said things about it that were strange. However, she said little about Kell's father. She was supposed to spend Kell's entire sixteenth birthday teaching him, but a figure in black changed that.
When Kell follows his mother's directions and escapes to an alternate world, he is called the Promised One. What does that mean? Why is the voice of a dead man, Ross, in his head? Who is Ross? Why are the priests teaching him about light but not answering his questions? Most of what he learns in this world only adds to his confusion.
Just as Frodo gradually learned how to resist the power of the ring, Harry learned how to fight the power of the dark arts, and Luke learned how to resist the dark side of the Force, Kell gradually learns how light just might defeat darkness.
Journey with Kell. Question, explore, and discover answers with him in 264 fast-paced, intriguing pages. I'm looking forward to the victories and transformations the sequel will bring.

I really enjoyed this story! It was a great fantasy with wonderful characters. They were well developed and complex. the story world was interesting and compelling. This is the first book in a new series and I can't wait to read the rest! Highly recommended to all fantasy lovers!

Worlds of Light: The Cleansing (Book 1) by J.W. Elliot is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series and I can not wait to read the rest of this series. I highly recommend this story to everyone about fantasy.

A surprise
I started this book with some trepidation. I have never read Sci find nor anything resembling it and yet I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
