I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone who is against murder because there's more murder in this short book than there is in a 500 pages mystery novel but if you like cats, OTT characters and short bursts of laughter- then yes, go for it!

The GOOD:
Funny yet sweet & sexy romance with the strange matchup of klutzy & awkwardly chatty 20s virgn PA h with grim & serious assassin (30s?) H's who rescued her from the contract hit put on her instead of killing her himself as the usual main contract-killer of his boss who happens to be her office-boss too (because her boss found out that h was able to access the file with the list of people her boss hired H & other assassins to kill). So, romance/pacing/sexual chemistry & detailed sex scenes were good. Love the whole quirky & OTT plot & characters. H&h's character were opposites but they actually balanced each other well with h's positive chattiness working well with H's serious & quiet demeanor/h's cutesy & awkward innocence balancing with H's grim frankness & cold-blooded self-control (i.e., he was a part-time alcoholic who indulged only when he wasn't on assignment). Both had secretly been crushing on the other for months, when they'd see each other in passing at their workplace. But neither have ever talked & thought their attraction was unrequited. Loved H's OTT protective-possessiveness claimy “mine” quiet obsession with h. And that his soft & impulsive side was brought out because of his devoted love for h. H did little things that were sweet & considerate for h's feelings. For example, h didn't mind H killing the bad guys but gets grossed when seeing blood. So, H would shoot the offender & quickly turn h around before she could see any blood.
Good enough emotionality. Loved the quirky humor, which was mostly due to h's character (i.e., she accidentally killed 1 of the contract killers due to wrong timing, she accidentally killed another assassin another time by throwing her stuffed animal to another assassin to ward him off but ended up causing a string of accidental crashes that killed the other assassins too). A little bit of angst towards the end, when h thought that H was shot dead by her boss. She showed her vengeful rage to her boss by physically assaulting him. So, h's character definitely toughened up & showed her blood-thirsty character that was tinged with kindness (just the bad ones) and limited by no-blood showing. He also showed character development by becoming more open & vulnerable to h & eventually smiling & laughing with h. Liked the epilogue 5 yrs later with H&h married & living in the Bahamas near his cousin & they have a blood-thirsty toddler daughter who has a penchance for blood & guts even in play (she wants to become a surgeon).

h had never been kissed until H. She was perceived as annoying, too chatty, & strange by others, which likely included men. Dating didn't seem to be a priority for her since she was happy with her family & her hobbies (i.e., stuffed animals). She also knew what she wanted and, upon seeing H, she knew she wanted him. No info on H's dating life or sexual history. Possible that H may have been a virgin or not very experienced by the way the author wrote part of their 1st sex scene. H did admit to never been BJ-ed before.

Mr. Black really has a heart of gold when it comes to Margaret. Margaret gets into something she shouldn’t. Mr. Black gets the call to take care of her. Finally, Jacob realizes its his opportunity to win Margaret’s heart. Fast paced and full of action and witty dialogue. Bernie is awesome!

Margaret job is pretty much work work and more work for a guy who is cold and bossy. And she mess up badly by having her friend hack a file she wasnt suppose to see. Que her being on a hit list. But luck is on her side since well on of the top assassins happens to be in love with her. She just doesn't know it lol. Jacob black. (Bwjsjskaka omgggg) got a message to off his girl but he won't he's going to save her and make sure no other person comes after her. And his cat Bernie. So tensions are high but that doesnt stop the cuteness and adorbleness between the two. Even if he did keep that tiny secert of him being one of the ppls who was sent to kill her.

I greatly enjoyed this one!
But it does seem very similar to a story I have already read. No worries, as long as it’s well written I’ll enjoy it. Which, obviously, I did.
Killer is suppose to kill the woman he wants, but instead, he saves her.

Soy bueno en mi trabajo. Eliminar personas no me produce acidez estomacal, especialmente cuando significa que mi cuenta bancaria se vuelve más grande después de cada asignación.
Entonces, ¿qué pasa si bebo los días entre misiones y quizás trato de olvidar todas las cosas que he hecho? No soy blando. No para nadie. . . Excepto ella.
Margaret. Mi pequeño rayo de sol, el único punto brillante en este mundo de oscuridad. Ella es lo único que tengo que esperar, y cuando se siente amenazada, no puedo quedarme de brazos cruzados. Ni siquiera cuando me ordenan quitarle la vida o perder la mía.
La mantendré oculta y segura, pero ¿cómo la protegeré de mí mismo?
Una historia breve, hilarante con mucha acción y momentos tanto dulces como calientes.
Me encantaron Margaret y Jacob, cómo al final lo dan todo el uno por el otro hasta su vida.
Margaret es un personaje divertidísimo. Era una chica algo torpe y tímida con el mal hábito de hablar hasta por los codos. Me gustó que ella pudieran ver más allá del Sr. Black, que viera y sacara un lado diferente de él.
Jacob era un tipo taciturno y frío pero Margaret le sacaba raras sonrisas y él solo la quería protegerla y hacerla feliz. Como cuando rescato a su oso de peluche Wally de un coche en llamas porque era importante para ella, así de ridículo y enamorado estaba. Y cómo no querer a este asesino que tenía un lindo y adorable gato llamado Bernie?
Me quedé con mucha intriga porque supuestamente Jacob había dejado de asesinar pero le debe un favor al señor Baines por eso sigue trabajando de sicario para él, es algo sobre Evan pero nunca dice qué.
Perfecto HEA y dulce epílogo a 5 años!
Disfruté mucho la historia de Margaret y Jacob, fue una loca aventura sin dudas.
Por favor quiero leer el libro de Evan, me gusta como está autora entrelaza sus libros independientes.

Margaret’s Hitman
Another great read from Mink. I've loved every release and this one is no different. I loved Margaret and Jacob. Love that Margaret get's to see the sweeter, softer side of Mr. Black, one that no one else gets to see. Love that her possessiveness of him brings out the grittier side to her that you wouldn't expect. She would do whatever it takes to stand up for her man, just as much as he would kill anyone that causes her the littlest bit of harm. These two were so sweet together. Loved it!!

Mink does it again!! Another epic love story that packs so much emotion and steamy, sizzling passion it wrenches the heart even as its swooning. And all within a tasty little nugget of a story.
First, gotta scream about what I absolutely freakin LOOOVED in this story: an UNAPOLOGETIC innocent heroine, who is HAPPY to give her man her purity and innocence and let him claim all that irreplaceable goodness for himself. YASSS. No sliming around with losers with this awesome gal. She had the good sense to keep herself for her one and only.
And Jacob, deadly Mr Black. Such a bad, bad man. And yet he has a sweet and tender side. I loved that he wasn’t a manskank, that he hadn’t been sliming with std-traps himself. Just made their love so much more deep, a bond and connection that is forged in being awakened one of the most powerful that exists.
The story was fun, well written and I loved the little feline touches. Those aspects of a story that elevate it above others by making it distinctive. Mink always manages that fabulously.
Margaret’s been working for mr blacks sinister boss. He’s been craving her since the moment he saw her but he knows she’s too good for him. And when she ends up in the crosshairs of his boss, and hes given the contract to kill her, he will burn down the world to keep her safe.

Hitmans Heart is the story of Jacob Black and Margaret.
Opposites attract, age gap I think, he works for a man he owes a debt to due to his cousin, hitman is tasked with killing the woman he likes and turns out he doesn’t want to. She steals a file that has names of people the have been killed on a USB and they basically put a hit on her to make sure she shuts up but Jacob is having none of that. He basically kills any of the other hitman’s and takes her away to a cabin where they try to stay safe from the others. I loved how he kissed her to shut her up it was so funny. I loved how he went back to get her stuffed animal that she dropped. Like this is man material. Anyways he keeps saying he’s a bad man to her and that he can’t touch her because she’s too innocent and shit like that. But once she tempts him, he gives him and doesn’t regret it until other hitmen find them and knocks him out and kidnaps her. They drive in separate cars and he loses her due to them being swerved of the road and he finds an old contact and she drives him there and then he kills his boss and saves his woman. She’s scared of blood and it’s so funny watching him take her away.
Solid 4/5, would’ve been a five if he wasn’t a wuss and claimed his woman.

A hitman is supposed to be a bad man, but here he is a hero! A sweet, rough, hot hero who saves the chatty damsel from being murdered.
I love this story so much. It's an exciting blend of cute smut and crazy assassin's business. Jacob is a man on the payroll for murder by contract, all empty in his heart. Except for a tiny space where his crush lives and inspires him hot fantasies. Until a hit on her pushes him to the rescue. From that moment on, it's all about devoted care, caveman protectiveness, and a few naked happy times. Yay.

However, everything changes when his newest assignment is that one ray of sunshine in his life. He'll do everything he can to keep her safe, even killing the man who is in charge of him and his kills.
I really wish we would've found out what it was that was being held over Jacob's head besides his cousin. What was it that his cousin did that would put him in a position to be used as a hitman?

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Jacob Black is a hired hit man. He has wanted Margaret for a while but never made a move. When a hit is put on his girl, he is determined to keep her safe.
The chemistry between Margaret and Jacob is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked that Margaret stood up for her man and loved him no matter what.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

3.5 - Margaret es una eficiente secretaria que encuentra el secreto mejor guardado de su jefe y eso la pone en serio peligro... hasta que aparece Jacob Black para protegerla.
Divertida y dulce pero con una pizca de acción que llevaran a nuestros protagonistas a enfrentarse a los hombres malos y salir airosos aunque me ha faltado la explicación del después, como se soluciona todo y a que puerto llevan sus actos y como lograron resolverlos, por lo que por eso mi puntuación.
Ha sido una buena lectura, en realidad estaba siendo MUY buena y entretenida pero me falto un poco más de explicaciones finales, sobre todo porque Jacob hacia lo que hacia, que sucedió con los personajes secundarios y porque están viviendo en otro lado.

But if you love the hate everyone but you, double v, hitman turned soft for her and us against the world tropes, this book is for you!
It's so sweet how Jacob always wanted Margaret but wanted to keep her safe from the life he was forced to endure. How he risked everything to save her and took care of her every need. Their love is just so sweet and pure 🥹 + The pandacorn!
I love MINK and this novellas are just so good to take a break from reality. Can't recommend her books enough!
Remember tho, this is a fiction so don't criticize the author if you know you don't like the themes.

Mink is a goddess, empress of the novella. She turns hitmen into heroes and heroines into queens. Margaret is in big trouble and Jacob is the only one who can save her. Mutual crushes aside, Jacob feels unworthy of someone as sweet as Margaret. When assassins come calling, Jacob swoops in and saves the day and Margaret cannot believe what is happening. He takes her to his family's cabin and is determined to protect her no matter the cost. Absolutely adorable and I was glued to it like it was multiple episodes of Supernatural. I couldn't love this book more if my life depended on it. 10 stars for this little slice of perfection!
