About a millennium ago, a sorcerer cast a spell to open a portal to Hell that exists to this day with no known way to stop it. Thrilling Vampire Paranormal Romance!
D.F. Wilson’s “Maximillian: Sundown Motorcycle Club: Book 1: A Vampire Romance” answered many questions I had about the Sundown Motorcycle Club vampires—transformation, mating for life and source for blood, for starters. Excellent writing, strong plot, enjoyable characters, great description, and steamy romance engaged me throughout the entire book. Highest recommendation.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this book. It is amazing and I couldn't read it fast enough.
Max is a 1,000 year old vampire, created to protect the world from demons who could enter through various portals and cause death and destruction. This he does with his motorcycle club of other vampires.
He meets a woman named Jessica and their attraction is instant and very powerful. Could she be his long-ago promised mate?
Well-written with a good solid plot and lots of steamy scenes.
I've never read a vampire romance before but, I'm hooked now.

A unique take on the vampire genre
Maximillian is the leader of the Brethren, a group of 7 vampires who have lived for over 1000 years. They’re main goal is to protect humans from the Detruire, demons from
hell who try to corrupt humans and make them do their bidding. Up to now the Brethren have not managed to find love and turn their mates into one of them for risk of death due to a cause that a magician placed on them when he first created them. However that is until Jessica turns up. As soon as Max lays eyes on her he’s instantly smitten but there is something strange. Despite being human Jessica can read Max’s mind as much as he can read her’s. Discovering that they share a unique bond and that their fate has been entwined years ago Max discovers that Jessica can be turned with no danger to her life. Once turned they plan their wedding but the journey to the alter is not plain sailing. This is great vampire romance with some thrills and spice along the way. They writing was well paced and kept my interest throughout. I will definitely be reading the next book in the Sundown Motorcycle Club series

A wonderful MC vampire story
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The story revolves around Maximillian, an ancient vampire created long ago by a magician to help stop the denizens of Hell from pouring into our world through portals that could pop up anyway. Max is feeling a bit depressed and lonely until he meets Jessica on a piece of her family property. They both seem to hit it off and before long, Jessica is thrust into his world of demon hunting. The magician had a stipulation that only women that can be turned into a Brethren was their intended mate but she has the ultimate choice in accepting it. There's plenty of intriguing moments, witty banter, and a few surprises that will keep you guessing as you keep turning the pages to see what happens next. I highly recommend this one!

You Won't be Disappointed
Maximillian (Sundown Motorcycle Club) A lovely story of romance, vampires and motorcycles - a perfect combination. Romantic and sexy, these vampires yearn for true romance. Max finds his in Jessica. They not only have strong chemistry but lovely tender moments too.
I like a good turn of phrase in an author and this author did not disappoint. "I'd like to make love to you all night until you scream my name." That's evocative for sure and certainly got me turning the pages. I'm not going to Spoil it for you but trust me, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this book. I'm starting the next book in the series tomorrow.

I loved this new twist on the vampire story. I found it unique, which made it an interesting read, and I enjoyed reading about Max and Jessica as they found each other and came to understand what a promised mate meant.

Snarky. Explosive. Enthralling. Exhilarating. Fun! These are the few of the suitable epitomes of Maximillian: Sundown Motorcycle Club
Characters are well developed. All the character D.F. Wilson wrote into the story were believable and each held their own personality. Seamless flow.
I honestly can't get enough of them, and this series is one of the finest in urban fantasy so far that I’ve come across. Though I felt the twist was bit predictable, it still had elements that I was not expecting and added great depth to the story.
I’m hooked already and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!!!

I can’t wait to see where this wild motorcycle ride takes us next!
It’s a very original, well thought out take on the concept of vampires quite unlike anything I’ve seen before. The Brethren operate very much like a team of superheroes, so if you enjoy superheroes you’ll enjoy this!
The romance aspect is always sufficiently hot and steamy, while remaining tasteful, and the characters are engaging and well thought out.
If you like vampires, supernatural action and romance in an exotic setting ( hey, I’ve never been to Louisiana, so it seems pretty exotic to me!)then this is the book for you!

Awesome start!
I was so impressed with the origin story. This isn’t your stereotypical vampire story and anyone who enjoys paranormal stories will love this. Highly recommend book! On to the next!

I’m hooked
There are too many thoughts and emotions running through my mind as I finished. First, is absolutely that I will be reading this whole series. I had one clear thought the entire read, “the author truly wrote the story she wanted to read.” It’s brilliant and unique. All vampire lovers must read. My second impression, is that I can’t think of another book I ever read that comes anywhere close to the detail with which this author writes. She literally paints readers a picture in every paragraph. Brilliant.

Thoughts: As a new author to me, I was not sure what to expect, but I enjoyed the book overall. There are many of the troupes you would expect to find in a book such as this: from brothers in arms, fated mates, and the world hanging in the balance. Which are all things I like in my stories.
Praise: I liked the concept of Vampires being created to fight against the Detruires. I found the idea of them being an MC interesting. Sadly it wasn’t explored much in book one, but the author may in subsequent books within the series. It is, first and foremost, a romance with supernatural beings, which I generally seek out in stories I want to read.
Cons: There is a fair amount of time spent on descriptions not necessary for the progression of the story. Since they were created for the sole purpose of fighting the Detruires, I would have enjoyed having some more scenes between the two sides.
Recommend: I recommend this to anyone who likes paranormal/fantasy romance, especially if you enjoy insta-love stories. There is some spice, but it does not drift into erotic.

You might be looking at this series and wondering if you are into reading about the antics of a motorcycle club. Fear not. These are men that have been around for thousands of years and have learned impeccable manners in that time and the fact that they all ride motorcycles is secondary to the many stories that weave their way through this brilliant novel (book one of many.)
The six men featured in this novel fight evil with their various powers and that is one story. They have each been promised a mate, who they will know when they meet them, and one of them (the books title is Maximillian) finds his and determines to make her his mate, which is not an easy process.
There is plenty of saucy description of love making in this novel, appropriate to the story and not just added for any other reason, and I found it tender, loving and extremely sensual.
There are something like ten novels in this series and I, for one, having discovered them will be making my way through all of them.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Sundown Motorcycle Club series. The twist on the normal vampire mythology was a stroke of genius and I couldn't put the book down. I bought it yesterday and I've finished it today!
If you enjoy romance, action, great descriptions, and a flowing storyline then this book (and the Sundown Motorcycle Club series as a whole) is for you. Max and Jessica are brought to life through great dialogue and you can feel the love and passion that they share.

A tv series disguised as a novel. Brilliant.
Maximilian: Sundown Motorcycle Club. Is a great read. It has everything to keep your interest. Great writing and interesting characters including, Vampire Bikers. Which had me hooked from start to finish. I’m sure at some point, I will read the next instalment as it’s a tv series disguised as a novel. I have no problem giving it five stars.

I’ve never read a motor cycle club book before. I wasn’t expecting my first to be paranormal too. I don’t read a lot of books with vampires so that’s kinda new too. It’s an interesting story. The world created in the story is interesting. As I said, I don’t read this type of book. There is a lot of telling in the story. I’d like too see more showing. But still, I just had to see what happened.

If you're looking for a different twist on vampires this is it! The character are interesting and well developed. The world is unique. There is romance with erotic love scenes without being vulgar or raunchy. This promises to be an awesome series with an awesome new author. Can't wait for the next book.

I absolutely love this book. The vampires story line and how they came to be was brilliant. I loved the chemistry between Max and Jessica. D.F. did an awesome job and really making their love for each other shine in this book. I could feel it as I was reading it. I am hooked on the series now! Can't wait to pick up the next book!

This novel was so unique! Fans of Lost Boys and Sons of Anarchy will not be disappointed.
It was hard to chose a favourite character, they all have such hot personalities and interesting gifts.

This was a great novel. I like how the Brethren are kinda like superheros and not just the usual bloodsucking monsters. They ride motorcycles too which was cool.
They all have fated mates and Maximilian finds his with Jessica. They have great chemistry, and the dialogue and description makes you feel and see their emotions really well. I highly recommend this book!

Just when you think you read all the vampire romance novels...
I thought when I started this novel that the Brethren were from Heaven, but it didn't make sense that they had fangs and stay out of the sun
Anyway, it was a great twist to another vampire romance novel. Look forward to continuing the series.

This was a very good book! Romance books are something I have been reading now for about six months, and I am excited to be reading this and knowing there are MANY more after this book. Max is a 1000-year-old vampire and had see so much! Had so many themes. I highly recommend this book! Vampire romances have me interested and it is now having me want to read more.

Great story. I love Dracula stories with the romance and adventure to it. Max and Jessica’s romance lets you connect to the story and what they have to do to ensure they stay together. I like that others were included like the betherens. I like the parts they play in the story and they each have a story and I can’t wait to read theirs.
