A wonderful book of prayers and truth. I know the prayers were written and first prayed from a place of exhaustion, just this side of despair. Stacey continues to trust the goodness of God, rooted in the unchanging truth of the Bible. But instead of only inviting us into her story, the prayers become a walking stick for our own.

This is a simple guide to prayer for those who are hurting and can’t find the words to say. Each day has a verse, 3 statements about our human weakness followed by 3 statements about who God is, then a one sentence “threadbare” prayer. Sometimes the prayer was more of an affirmation than a request so I’d turn that into my own prayer. The 3 statements section is my favorite as it’s filled with beautiful truths and reminders of who our God is!

I loved these prayers that were perfect for one a day. Each prayer has a verse then focus on what the reader might be feeling and who God is and ends with a prayer. For this season, it was exactly what I needed.
