2.5 ⭐

The 3rd book in this series and it was pretty fast pace and steamy.

I'll be 100% i was already annoyed with Sheena in the last book so when I was reading this one I hoped I would like her or see her redeemed. And I gotta say she was redeemed but she did have her annoying moments that well annoyed me. Idk why I just couldnt click with her even if her reasons were shown after all the drama and why she had a problem with Nolans family. As for Nolan he was a good guy a recovering drunk who was getting better even if he had his dom moments i enjoyed him alot.
I wonder if Carson is the next guy to have his book? And I pray that isn't annoying.

Low angst, No ow/om drama( unless you count the ex), no cheating, Slight secondary charas, Drama, sexy times, no virgins

If you're looking for kinky romance between two slightly damaged people who find renewed purpose in each other, you will probably enjoy this. This is the third in a series, and it helps to read Keenan, where this Irish Mafia family was introduced, and Cormac: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance, where we first saw Sheena and Nolan interact. While this doesn't end in a cliffhanger regarding the couple, it does leave us with several unanswered questions and in the middle of another couple's drama that I assume will be addressed in the next book.

Investigative reporter Sheena has been a thorn in the side of the McCarthy clan for years as she attempts to find out the truth about their criminal empire (we later discover that there is another, more personal reason). Nolan has been tasked with reining her in (notice, btw, that I don't say "reigning") and is more than up to the challenge, given that the two have a bit of history and a shared interest in the local BDSM club. He is the youngest McCarthy brother and the one who feels he has the most to prove. Viewed as feckless and irresponsible by the others, he ironically finds himself saddled with a ton of responsibility when he takes it upon himself to protect Sheena's underage siblings, who have been neglected by their mother. The rest of the book details Sheena's and Nolan's love/hate relationship as they navigate familial drama and a budding gang war.

Because of my own "hard limits," I liked this book more than the others for five reasons. First, unlike the h's in the preceding stories, Sheena was not kidnapped, raped, beaten, or terrorized; rather, she was an experienced BDSM player and, thus, a willing participant in Nolan's erotic "punishments." Second, since the two already knew each other, the development of their relationship was more believable than the "insta-love" Keenan and Cormac experienced. Third, Sheena was far more autonomous than Caitlin and Aileen: she was self-sufficient, self-supporting, and self-contained in a way that those women were not. Fourth, by taking in her brothers and sister, Nolan actually does something to earn Sheena's trust; thus, her submission was freely given rather than forcibly taken. Lastly, I really, really, really appreciated that Sheena wasn't a virgin.

I do have three caveats to the above. First of all, the whole idea that this family is the "good" mafia because they only trade in guns and not drugs or human trafficking is absurd -- particularly when you consider the number of gun deaths in the U.S. alone. Second, the BDSM scenes (only one takes place in the club and that's barely) are very light and not well-described or detailed. BDSM play is not Ms. Henry's strength; rather it's the emotional D/s connection between her H and h that she excels at. Finally, I was really bothered by how the book depicts Nolan's alcoholism. On the one hand, I was pleased to see a dominant represented as less than invincible; while many generic books feature submissives with problems such as bulimia or domestic abuse, it's rare (very rare) to encounter male characters who evince any such "weakness" (in these stories, the D/s often breaks down along TGR lines). On the other hand, alcoholism is a disease; it's not a "character flaw" or "moral failing." I was disappointed that Nolan's disorder was conflated with derogatory terms such as "class clown" and that his family viewed him with "contempt," rather than compassion. Indeed, given their attitude, it's amazing that he recovered at all.

Side Note: Those ubiquitous "rocky cliffs" deserve a book of their own.

4 stars. I wouldn't call this particularly "dark" (Nolan doesn't harm Sheena or even really hurt her), but everyone has their own definition of that term.

To the One-Star Reviewer on Amazon: Here's the definition of "slut-shaming:"
Slut shaming refers to deliberate efforts to discredit people by associating them with sexual deviancy, especially sexual immodesty and promiscuity. [Page 1579] Victims of slut shaming, who are disproportionately girls and women, may attain a poor reputation, experience social isolation and a loss of social status...
And look up "misogyny," too, while you're at it. It's amazing what enlarging your vocabulary will do for you.

While I did enjoy this one, it was my least favorite in this series. Sheena kinda got on my nerves. Nolan, I loved him. And I loved all of Sheena’s siblings. (Oh how I hope Faith and a certain someone get there own story - hint, hint, hint Jane!)
This is essentially an enemies to lovers story with a happily ever after ending.
You’ll enjoy this one if you enjoyed the previous stories.

This one can be read all on its own.

Book: Nolan
Read By: Ebook
Author: Jane Henry
Genre: Dark Romance
Recommend: yes
Spice:🌶️️🌶️️
< b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

Ok ok ok this was a rec of tik tok…..
Am I pleased…. Yes and no.
So let's start with the negative… One there might be spice in this but its not a lot. Maybe I just read super filthy stuff so this seams mild to me… but this isn’t what I would call a Dangerous Dom.

“And you, Sheena, are worth it.” He thrusts again, as he claims me, takes me. “I’ll fight for you. I’ll take you on. I’ll make you mine.”

Second I didnt like the Dom side of it. Now don’t get wrong im not a shy wee lass. But this was more over bearing, possessive, Mind control sort of dom. This was more like a 24/7 Dom. He wanted to be boss in all aspects. She was expected to do as she was told etc etc. all day everyday.

But it doesn’t work that way. Love isn’t about control, or capture, and can never be brought about by force. Love is about letting them go, so they can spread their wings… and fly back to you. Freely.

Now the positives, I was hooked. I read this one sitting. Even though it pissed me off, Mad me happy, made me sad etc etc I was totally invested in the out come, and even in side mcs. I did know going in that Nolan had gentler side. so I was shocked with his obsession, and gentle nature.

“You can’t hold onto anger, Sheena. You have to forgive. If you don’t, it eats you up inside like acid, burning away the good bits until there’s nothing left but rot. It isn’t your enemies that bear the brunt of your anger. It’s you.”

Highly Recommend.

I have always felt iffy about the sexual torture trope. What is considered consent? What is the limit? Would he be doing that to other girls? Is that the standard way they 'interrogate' women? Is this not rape? He couldn't possibly have guessed that she'll like it. How do they know which woman will like it and which will not? Enjoying sexual humiliation is a thing, I agree, but does that mean that the person will NEVER feel humiliated? If he can do it to one girl he can do it to 10 and after a point he'll stop giving a fuck about who's consenting especially considering this kind of abuse runs in his family.

And this is so insulting and cliche that a woman will not have any loyalty whatsoever to herself and will blabber everything if you give her sexual attention. IRL it's the other way around which is probably why authors don't like to acknowledge it.

I don't even know wtf is the big deal. You're telling me no reporter has EVER written stuff about them?

And I also don't like how authors minimise and brainwash heroines who know and realise what is actually wrong with the hero. He'll torture her, she'll like it, it won't be a big deal, his obviously biased family will become her's as well but just as long as she keeps her head down and doesn't tell them what's right and wrong. Why can't a hero do the realisation for once?
I hate how he's trying to pretend the whole book that he isn't raping, coercing, humiliating, torturing her.

“Better than I thought I would with these damn cuffs.”

“Your job of tying me up and punishing me? Ack, seems you do that job just fine.”

"I don’t deserve her kindness."

"I don’t blame her......I’m sitting in her dining room, wearing her clothing, a stark reminder of what I’ve done to the people she calls family."

"How far I’ve let myself sink for the sake of vengeance."

These types of comments are here to free you of any guilt you may have felt knowing you're romanticising her torture. If she doesn't feel bad about it why should you? All of these epiphanies aren't her realising her 'mistakes' because she was never wrong. A journalist is supposed to do what she is doing. No matter how supposedly harmless their crime ring is. It still is the fucking mafia. This is just her being bullied from all sides and conditioning herself to think that they are the good guys. She has no one on her side here. No nuetral voice. All of these people surrounding her are making decisions about her without her involvement. Playing her like a puppet. They're not being kind they're manipulating you. Have had generations of practice.

Note how Nolan is not going to feel bad about how he is treating her. He's not going to make these conflicting statements. He's not gonna question his family and will have an excuse for everything.

I hate hate absolutely HATE when authors shove it down our throats that their Heroine is independent, fiery, fierce, strong and what not but when it actually comes time to leading and taking control they stand in the background idling, letting the men do the talking AND EVEN IN SITUATIONS WHERE IT SHOULD BE THEM.

Like who gave Nolan the right to order Sheena's family around? She literally did not speak one full sentence when the guys were ordering her family about.
And these children have been living here their whole lives how is one more night so DANGEROUS? Sheena did not even argue that they could be kept at a hotel or whatever if the brothers were feeling so generous. He's not your boyfriend he's your kidnapper why would you put your whole fucking family under him? In his debt? She did not even have a talk with them she just lopped them off with some random lady in a MOTHERFUCKING criminal's house. They must've been so scared.

Speaking of the kids. Why wasn't anyone picking up on the fact that Sheena is distressed in this environment? Why is no one ever loyal to women? These men are so proud of being criminals and killers and have a 'brotherhood' or whatever but no women stand by each other no matter what. They don't have a sisterhood. They come from the most lonely and victimizing situations where it's really easy to convince them that what they're getting with the boys is golden.

And what is the point of starting with a strong heroine if you're just gonna strip her of her dignity and identity by the end? Just create a malleable little doll from the start why don't you? Creating a mature sexually experienced heroine just so you can slut shame her and she won't hold any of her sexual torture against you because she 'liked it'?

WHY CAN'T SHE HAVE A BACKBONE THROUGHOUT? WHY CAN'T SHE CALL THEM OUT AND FORCE THEM TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOUR? WHY CAN'T IT BE BOTH WAYS? It hurts my heart that this is how authors want women to be. No ambition, no determination just turning into a puddle as soon as a guy gives you the barest attention.

SINCE MY BROTHER TOOK HER AS HIS OWN

One thing I can always say, Ms. Jane Henry never disappoints with her writing, bigger than life characters, and scenarios. What a third great story to this new series, Dangerous Doms, and with it, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The story keeps the pages turning with a powerful, dominant man, Nolan, youngest son of the McCarthy Clan, and while he has a past that included drinking to excess. Still, he has changed, and now he is also a man who is willing to step up and prove he is responsible---for the good of the clan. Then there is Sheena Hurston, a nosy reporter who has caused trouble for the McCarthy clan in the past, but she has stirred the pot lately, having the locals questioning the McCarthy Clan.

“She’s a drug, that woman, beautiful and dangerous, her mission in life is to bring us down.”

The plot will have Keenan instructing Nolan to deal with Sheena and learn as much as he can about what she is doing and why. For some time now, there has been this love-hate relationship between Sheena and Nolan—but it is going to escalate, and she will become his prisoner. The chemistry between these two is like oil and water, but oh my goodness, when you throw in the erotic spiciness and shake them up, it’s like a fantastic dressing all blending together.

“Hate’s just the start of a relationship,” Cormac says with a smirk. “A very good start, and one you can work with.”

The story is full of mystery, suspense, secrets, control, passion, and power. Nolan and the McCarthy family will learn more of her past, and with the past comes three innocent siblings, Tiernan, Fiona, and Sam—a crappy, useless mother, and a rival clan, the O’Gregors. Having a prisoner is one thing, but when the lives of innocent children are involved, the McCarthy clan will take a stand, bring them in and protect them.

“She’s the most beautiful, dangerous enemy we have.”

The more Nolan and Sheena are together, the closer they become. When it comes to their love of kink, they are on the same page—and both have a loyalty to their families. So, where does that leave them? Will Sheena learn the truth about the death of her father, and what she has believed all these years was a lie? How will the McCarthy Clan trust her after her vicious attacks in the papers—and can she correct them and make amends?

“Love and hate are so closely entwined, both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide. I hated the man I thought he was. I’m in love with the man he really is.”

“Lass, I won’t ever lie to you. You’re a hard woman to love, Sheena Hurston. You need someone willing to break down the fortress you keep yourself in. This is no rescue, doll. This is a plundering. Ravaging. Taking home the spoils of war.”

The story is an action-packed adventure that takes the reader inside the Irish Mafia and how they operate. It includes strong, feisty women, who support the men they love, accept that they must step back, and allow them to conduct business and not ask questions. It is power, control, dominance, discipline, and clan loyalty that ties this tale all together. There is excellent erotic and kink filled chemistry between Nolan and Sheena. He loves to dominate and she gets all melty with submission.

“It’s a different world, isn’t it? I say. “Facing the same things today as we did yesterday, only now we do it together.”

The story does depict scenes of violence, explicit discipline, and the sex scenes are consensual. I don’t know where this series will take us, and while there is no cliffhanger, I think some characters mentioned may segue into the next story.

Breathtaking passion, promise, and suspense, NOLAN is your next MUST-READ!
If you haven’t read any of author Jane Henry’s Dark Irish Mafia Romances, then please start with NOLAN, her latest release. While those who have long been fans of this amazingly talented author can attest, Ms. Henry’s writing weaves a web around her readers’ hearts and minds. Even so, this third book of Ms. Henry’s Dark Irish Mafia Romances is IMPRESSIVE! NOLAN not only weaves the tale of Sheena, the investigative reporter, and Nolan, the youngest of the McCarthy brothers and reformed wild child of the Clan; it also solidifies the setting, defines the term family, and gives insight in how the daily life of this clan is centered on love. However, NOLAN is no mere “enemy to lover” love story. That is too simplistic a description, so I will give you Ms. Henry’s own words; “But love and hate are so closely entwined both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide.” What causes and results from that collision is something readers must unveil themselves. For NOLAN is a promise of the most stellar love story, a promise born of hardship distrust and forgiveness, and the recognition that in living life Nolan and Sheena have become EVERYTHING to each other. Once again, it is so difficult to describe the perfection of this love story, for it can only be found in the images pictured by author Henry’s poetic narration and how the realism makes both the complex plotlines and one’s investment in the characters akin to breathing. So, if a sign of greatness is one where readers loathe leaving that world at the story’s end, then NOLAN is a GREAT READ! As advertised NOLAN is dark, kinky, and at time explicit, but both are so a part of the story’s telling they are enough for the warning – only readers 18 and above need apply. There are a couple of spoilers if you start the series with this third book, but since all of Jane Henry’s books end with the promise of a happy ever after, the spoilers are less likely to keep one from reading Keenan and Cormac. Once you have experienced a novel written by author Jane Henry, had a taste of the world she has built around the McCarthy Clan, and have seen that the magic is not merely in the knowledge that a couple is together but in the experience of HOW that came about, you’ll be purchasing the first two novels . . . You have my word on it. While I leaped at the opportunity to read an early copy of NOLAN and then immediately put in my pre-order, I am voluntarily reviewing and awarding t NOLAN this 5+STAR rating with the addendum; NOLAN has earned more stars and really should be your next romance purchase! Get your copy of NOLAN today! Happy pages! 😉

This is the first book I have read in this series so I had no preconceived opinions about Nolan. There is enough information given to assume that he was not a likable character in the past. He drank too much and it affected his actions and relationships. It was also, obviously, my first introduction to the rest of the McCarthys. I didn't find this a hindrance to understanding the current book. I am planning to find and read about Keenan and Cormac as I am sure it would be nice to know their stories.

Sheena is an investigative reporter who has a bee in her bonnet about the McCarthy clan. It takes awhile to find out exactly what that is, but suffice it to say she wants them destroyed. Apparently, she makes an appearance in at least one other book and she made herself persona non grata to the family. Nolan is given the task of getting information from her and he had no problem taking the assignment.

I won't spoil the story for you. It soon becomes clear that Sheena has family issues that weigh her down and a determination to bring down the McCarthys no matter what she has to do. Everything will change when she finds herself Nolan's prisoner. She might find she likes it a little too much. Truth will be revealed and lives will change.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Jane Henry’s “Nolan” is book 3 in her Dark Irish Mafia Romance series and I have to confess, this is currently my favorite. If you’ve been reading the series from the beginning, then you know that Nolan has gone through a transition. He’s grown up and is now being taken seriously as a Brother, one of The Clan. But there’s a bit of a problem. The McCarthys have a bit of a thorn in their side from none other than investigative journalist, Sheena Hurston. And since I’m sure this isn’t your first Jane Henry novel, you know that sparks will fly and boy do they.

I’m enjoying this series as a whole. There are so many aspects to it that I could point out—from the character development, to the McCarthy family dynamics, reading how the brothers transform as they fall in love and learn what really matters to them, the new additions to The Clan (the wives) are all amazing characters who are completely enamored by their spouses. Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out all the romantic-sexy bits. In “Nolan”, there’s a bit of kink (mild but fun), so if that bothers you, then you may not want to read it, but for me, it helped bring out the characters.

This story grips you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. Jane Henry immerses you in a mafia world where Clan and Code are everything. Nolan seems an unlikely hero – a kinky recovering alcoholic known for a quick temper and irresponsible behavior. Sheena is an equally kinky young woman with a quick temper and intense focus on avenging the death of her father. Together, they are explosive. They become better people for one another

Kinky plus kinky makes for some very hot scenes. This book is emotional, with a terrific storyline. The secondary characters are vividly depicted and the dialogue throughout was exceptional. I found it to be a page-turner, and I’m already looking forward to the next in the series.

Sheena Hurston is convinced that the McCarthy’s are responsible for her family’s misfortunes. So much so that she’s been gathering evidence for a tell-all exposé. All she needs is entry to the Clan’s mansion to find the definitive proof she needs. If only she could get past Nolan McCarthy’s close watch of her. Good luck with that.

Sheena was tenacious, spunky and smart mouthed. I enjoyed the love-hate relationship between her and Nolan and the extremely passionate union that ensued. The story is well written, with interesting and likeable characters. There’s some drama and angst, mystery, danger, and violence along with several steamy encounters featuring elements of BDSM.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So much more to this story than the blurb. Sheena has an obsession with bringing down the McCarthy's. Nolan will do anything to protect his family. One phone call changes everything and sets off a rolling thread of actions from that one call. Just the right amount of suspense, totally hot scenes, and totally hot words between Nolan and Sheena. I loved the family loyalty and all the brothers. Family is everything and when someone in your family is threatened you will do anything to help them. I couldn't put it down and thoroughly enjoyed this third chapter in this series. I can't wait for the next chapter.

I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Irish Mafia Series. Each book takes you through a brother's journey. While they are stand-alone and you could read one without the other. I liked having their background and what their roles were. It just shows you more of each character and why they act the way they do. As it was and is molding their future due to their loyalty, love and respect. Their code is absolute. Hot, steamy, bantering, sass, stubbornness make up Nolan and Sheehan. A highly recommended read. You will not be bored. Shocked maybe. I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author.

I cannot get enough of these Irishmen!!!

Sheena has been trouble for McCarthy Clan for a while now. She's an investigative reporter that has latched onto the Clan and refuses to let go. She's about to find herself deeper than she had ever planned.

Nolan has been tasked to take care of the Sheena problem, but he's already had his eye on her for a while now...how much of a problem is she truly?

Sheena and Nolan are a power couple! These two are phenomenal together, the push and pull, the true beauty of a strong woman giving her full submission to a deserving man. Sheena's siblings truly stole my heart.

I can't wait for the next book!

I enjoyed this book. Nolan and Sheena's story is jam-packed with intense emotions, tension, drama, action, suspense and steam. Nolan has kind of been a work in progress over the course of this series and he finally has his life in order and in my opinion, turned into a very swoon worthy hero. As for Sheena, I admit I was not a fan at the start of this book and it took me a while to warm up to her. She simply had a tendency to grate on my nerves. When all was said and done though I did like these two as a couple. There are some very intriguing secondary characters (particularly Sheena's siblings). I am posting a frank, freely posted review.

It was great to see Nolan pulling himself together and become the man he was always meant to be. Sheena has been causing trouble for the Clan for quite some time and this time, she’s gone too far. Nolan has brought Sheena in to question and punish. Not only does he learn what she was after the Clan for, but he also learns what she craves and what she’s trying to protect. When Nolan decides to show a little of his soft side in assisting Sheena, he unknowingly puts them all in danger. A page turner of a story filled with heat!

This is my second book from Jane Henry but my first from the Dark Irish Mafia series. I wasn't sure what to expect. I really enjoyed it. In the beginning you got a little of a background for the other brothers but I think it would have been better for me to read the two books before this. I wasn't lost by any means but things would have been more clearer for me. I would have gotten a better feel for the family. I think the chemistry between Nolan and Sheena was spot on. The brotherhood of the Clan was strong. It was a great read! Looking forward to the books in the series.

This family of the McCarthy clan look after their women and family came before anything, Sheena has danced around the McCarthy's for a long time especially Nolan and as a reporter she is making trouble as well as making herself busy Nolan is told by Keenan to take care of her and when he does he takes on more then any of the McCarthy's ever dreamed of. Amazing as always there's just something about these guys that gives off a very alpha vibe as well as running business they look after family. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Wow. This truly is a dark mafia romance. Sheena has had her sights on Nolan for a while. I don’t want to tell you too much about this story because I want you to feel all the emotions I had, glued to your chair, clan against clan war, action-packed, haunting, scary, twisted and terrifying. You really feel like you are part of the clan as you read this book. Enjoy

This author writes absolutely incredible stories with dominate and protective alphas and sexy and sassy heroines. Nolan is struggling with sobriety and when a nosey reporter is shoved in his path she uses her connections to help him. Nolan is kinkier than his brothers and he requires an obedient submissive, will Sheena fit the bill? Will she expose the families secrets?

He’s the youngest son of the McCarthy Clan. He was a disappointment for years, with his partying and drinking. He went to rehab and cleaned up his life. Unfortunately, his father didn’t get to meet the reformed Nolan. Now he’s the third in line to run The Clan and he is gaining the respect he deserves. When he’s tasked with getting information from a reporter that is trying to destroy The Clan his world will get turned upside down. He has no idea what’s in store for him and how his life will change, but he knows that when his brother, Keenan, the head of The Clan tells him to get answers, he better do it.

Sheena is a woman on a vendetta and her goal is to bring down the family that killed her father. She’s a reporter who is using her job to help her bring them down. She will to all lengths to get the information she wants. Her main goal besides the vendetta is to take care of her younger siblings since their mother won’t do it and puts them in more danger than they should be in. When Nolan McCarthy takes her to The Clan mansion she thinks that she is in control of what will happen and that she will be able to walk away with no problem, but when problems beyond her control come to light and the truth comes out, will she walk away or stay.

I really enjoyed Sheena and Nolan’s story. There is heat, danger, and the chance for the both of them to show their real selves. Sheena does not come from the same world and Nolan and she is ashamed of where she does come from, but Nolan doesn’t show any contempt for that towards Sheena, he is only interested in stopping her from ruining his family. When the truth about everything comes out, there is more danger, but these two will have to put their trust into each other so they can survive and live their lives. If you like stories of women who act tough and are willing to sacrifice things for those they love, Mafia, Doms, or stories of family, then you will enjoy Nolan. I loved it and I give it a 4.5-star review. I look forward to more with these characters. I love the way the men of The Clan are with each other; they are family by choice as well as blood.

Nolan McCarthy gives the reader a look into the life of his family. If you haven't read the series yet, it may act as a reminder that you have some catching up to do. Sheena Hurston takes family responsibility very seriously. But it's nearly crushing her. It will grip you at how sad things are but you do what you have to because in the end, family is still family after all.

There was one word that kept coming up and it got to the point that it just got itself under my skin. The more pages that went by, it went deeper and deeper until I finally did something about it. Part of the problem became that while I was reading. I kept hearing the wrong accent in my head and I needed to fix that.

It was a very simple internet/dictionary search that would help solve some of the problem. The other problem solver was that the next time I read this book, or catch up on the series, I'm going to play some Irish music in the background. It didn't take away from my enjoyment of Nolan and Sheena's story but i would prefer knowing that I was hearing the right accent. Knowing that there's an audiobook, narrated by two of my favorite narrators, out there will help me with my problem as well.

This story is a great mix. If you like mafia romance, you'll get that with an accent. Do you like women who do things with conviction but are willing to backdown when the right person comes along. Family plays a big role here and the story shows the different kinds. It's a story that moves seamlessly from scene to scene. You will get some suspense, some romance, and something just a little darker. The author doesn't go too dark so there shouldn't be anything there to offend but some may depend on what you're used to. This story left me looking forward to more of this author's work.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Nolan is the third book in the Dangerous Doms series, but could be read as a stand alone. There are references to the previous books and relationships, though. Nolan and Sheena have a volatile relationship, but since she’s spreading discord about his family, it’s Nolan’s job now to tame her. But Sheena has more layers than he ever expected and Nolan has more heart than she could have imagined. When their passion starts turning into more, will Nolan and his brothers save Sheena before it’s too late?

Oh my goodness, there is so much angst, chemistry, tension, suspense, and I could feel my heart pounding and was practically sitting on the edge of my seat! After about chapter two, I was completely hooked, haha! I never knew quite what to think of Sheena in the beginning, as she was just as conflicted about her feelings of Nolan, his family, and the “business” they needed to conduct. One minute she’s playing a part and a game, but the next, she’s a fierce protector with a major soft spot for her siblings. But I loved her towards the end of the book! Nolan was just as conflicted with his feelings towards Sheena, but I loved that while he was trying to prove himself, he also stood up for what he believed in! They were a fascinating couple with a hatred that burned brightly into passion and eventually love! I loved getting to see more into the inner dealings of this mafia brotherhood and some of the code that they all live by, but my favorite parts of this series is just seeing the heart behind the mafia man and how things change as they find the woman to love, and this book was no exception!

Oh, how I waited for this story! The 3rd book in this series, Nolan is - naturally - the 3rd and youngest McCarthy brother. The family's been through a lot in just the first 2 books, so I was eager to see how things would go. Nolan's come a long way since the first book ("Keenan"). He's left his hard-drinking ways behind him, and worked hard to earn his brother's respect.

I think that of the 3 books, the dialog in "Nolan" struck me as most natural. I was also struck by the delicious Enemies-to-Lovers aspect of this tale:

"But love and hate are so closely entwined, both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide."

So eloquent.

Keenan is the quintessential charming party boy who's trying to turn over a new leaf; Sheena's a driven, focused woman, intent on justice - or revenge - dedicated to protecting her family while she does anything and everything to achieve her goal. Ah, a match made in heaven!

Highly recommend this book, and was so excited to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. The sparks between Nolan and Sheena are red-hot, and there's an interesting dash of suspense in the plot as well. You won't be disappointed.

I am loving this series very much!! I enjoy a good Mafia story and this series has all the best ones around. Nolan of course is the younger brother of the McCarthy Family. So he gets outed to deal with the investigative reporter, who don't know, has a vendetta against the McCarthy Family. Enter Sheena, the investigative reporter. She is not your every day meek girl, she is independent and will not take anything lying down. Nolan leans toward a kinky side and tries to get information out of Sheena any way he can. These two together have great chemistry and I enjoyed reading all the scenes they had together. I would say that she sassed him just to receive his punishments. Can't say I would blame her.

So Nolan is the latest release in the Dangerous Doms series and it is just as engaging and cant put down as the others. I am addicted to family series, because I am close to my family, I enjoy reading family series. Add in the mafia theme and I am a huge fan. I would highly recommend this series.

This Dark Irish Mafia Romance continues delving into the delicious and oh so dominating men of the McCarthy Clan. This story focuses on Nolan the youngest McCarthy and it is a wild and spicy/hot adventure that will leave you fully satisfied.

Nolan has had a love/hate relationship for Sheena since he first saw her at the club. He knows she loves to submit but he doesn’t know why she is so set on destroying his family. He takes all the measures necessary to bring her to their home to interrogate and find out what she is hiding from them!

Sheena doesn’t trust the McCarthy and believes they are responsible for the death of her father and since then her mother has checked out and her siblings are struggling to survive and she will stop at nothing until they pay! However, the attraction and pull she feels towards Nolan makes her second guess everything she thought she knew.

This is an adorable story of family, commitment, and love. You will love watching their story unfold. Carson’s story is next in this series and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Happy Reading!!

This book was like Fire and Fire, just combustible.

I loved seeing a Fiery FMC! She literally did not care about the possible repercussions for her actions. She just had a goal in her mind and did everything in her power to achieve said goal, putting her life on the line in the process.

She went from being an investigative reporter to being a Clan woman in one of the most powerful Irish Clans, claimed by the third in line to the throne, Nolan.

Nolan and Sheena had a lot of back and forth over the course of a few years. Keenan (Leader of the Clan) tasked Nolan to keep Sheena at bay with her reporting. He tried multiple times to bring her down a peg or two, Sheena wouldn't have it though, her goal was to bring justice to her family but being down the McCarthy Clan - or so she thought.

I really enjoyed the progression of their relationship over the years and what it developed into in their story. There was plenty of Found Family moments, not just for Sheena but for her siblings as well, who later on get books as well - Fiona, and Tiernan.

Overall, super fun read that will keep you on your toes and leave you wanting more.
