"Sometimes even to live is an act of courage." - Lucius Annaeus Seneca
Freddy 'Fritz' Becker is a loving father, devoted husband and dedicated parole officer who is strictly by the book. Ethics, codes of conduct and law and order are the governing principles of Fritz's life, until that life is turned upside down when he's charged and convicted of murder. Forced to question his long held beliefs, he is suddenly thrust into another calamity when a super-EMP is detonated over North America. Faced with this new situation, he must not only struggle to survive, but find a way to clear his name.
LOCKDOWN is a spin off from the international bestselling series, THE NEW WORLD by USA Today bestselling author G. Michael Hopf
L. Douglas Hogan is a U.S.M.C. veteran with over twenty years in public service. Among these are three years as an anti-tank infantryman, one year as a Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor, ten years as a part-time police officer, and eighteen years working in state government doing security work and supervision. He has been married over twenty years, has two children, and is faithful to his church, where he resides in southern Illinois.
Interesting read. The book was not what I was expecting at all. It was all set up like Dominos standing up in a row. Freddy definitely set the chain of events on a personal level of only seeing black and white. His partner hit the other side and chaos was soon to follow in their lives. Definitely not what this reader expected.
I have read all of these two author's works. They never disappoint with the entertainment and a good read. Do I recommend this book? Oh yeah. I hope there is a sequel showing how people survive leaving a volatile city.
Hard time reading some of this. Really captured my attention. Some of the chapters seem so like what is good my on now. I have been feeling this may all come to our lives very soon. Not certain if I would be ok in this situation or not. I did get a good count on my ammunition!
This book is good! The story is quick, and fierce. The action is not artsy fartsy in that the authors don't drag it out with elaborate planning, and verbal camouflage. They choose the course of action, and get the job done.
I sure hope there is a sequel, I would love to see where these characters go! You never disappoint me. Great job Douglas Hogan and G. Micheal Hopf, loved it!
