This completed series perfect for fans of Twilight and the Mortal Instruments is a modern fairytale romance about a human girl and her true mate Dark Fae Prince. Slow burn romance at its finest.
She'll get her Happy-Ever-After even if she has to fight the Queen of the Underworld for it.
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, forgotten even to the long-living Fae, their world was broken, sending them into the shadows of the Underworld where they were twisted into monsters that could thrive on the darkness. Darkness is what they feed on, what fears them. Every prince born to take the mantle of the last great king is raised in the human world, in the Valley of Balance before he takes his kingdom and his throne.
Eleanor Adams knows all about Dark Fae and the Queen of the Underworld after her true mate Dark Fae Prince leaves her alone to be safe in his valley. The thing is, El's not about to let someone else bind her prince.
Join El, Met, a Renegade Seer Slayer, an Angelized Demon, and a Gnome Dark-Fae with the cutest cheeks you’d better not squeeze in this race against epic evil to save true love and the world.
Her Dark Fae Prince is a trilogy about star-crossed love that can conquer all. It's perfect for Paranormal Romance fans looking for just the right amount of quirky sweetness in their next true mate romance.
Juliann Whicker's has concluded the Her Dark Fae Prince series, with the third and final book Shine, and it was whimsical and wonderfully violent, I loved it. When I first started the series I didn't know what the heck was going on, I was new to Juliann and wasn't uses to her writing style so it didn't initially click. I was confused and didn't feel connected to the characters but the story was so different that I was curious about the second book, then I fell in love with the story and the characters and knew I had to read the rest of the series.
By the time I read Shine I was invested in the characters and captivated by the world. This book series reminds me of an up-to-date version of Alice in Wonderland but cooler, it has that whimsical feeling, the characters are odd and things don't happen how you would expect them to plus things are very confusing at times but it all works, it comes together to tell a wonderfully unique story. El has become a fierce monster slayer and life-giver, she is still dancing and crazier than a cat in a bag but she manages to pull through and have people who are very devoted to her including her mate, Met. Met has become all-powerful and destruction, who is trying not to be destruction and who is madly in love with El and also just as crazy as her. I love Met's and El's relationship they were so weird but very devoted to each other, one always trying to save the other but doing things on their own but not in an annoying way. They manage to help each other and weave their plans together without even planning it out, they were totally in sync.
As for the other characters, they were very much present, Nightmare is back and he is growing on me, Gem is the new Vincent and just as strange as El, LeeLou is one of El's guardians and she is mightier than expected. Not to mention Abe is standing by her side along with a few other characters. El is widely loved and adored even by unexpected people.
The story was great, more information about the Dark King (aka Met's dad) was revealed including what his master plan was before he died. Met trying to control his darkness, learn everything he could to help his people, and bet the Queen at her own game while keeping El safe from all who would do her harm, including herself. Also, more of the dark fae's culture was explained and I finally found out what happened to the light fae. Plus El's parentage has always been an unknown but didn't really affect anything until it did. El's lineage is revealed and to say it was a shock is an understatement, I was surprised by her lineage but not in a bad way. It made the story way more interesting along the surprises made the story very entertaining.
Shine was a fantastic conclusion to the series, full of whimsey, darkness, rainbows, fae, demons, butchers, bakers, and shine. I am so glad that I stuck with the series, it is so unique and creative that it is sure to stick with me.
Oof, this book was a tough read. I liked the first book so much, then I was disappointed by the second but this one was just weird. I did not like it at all, and had to force myself to finish it — I almost DNF it several times, but wanted to finish the trilogy.
It was just weird, and not in a good way, like the first book. I did not like the dark fae relationship, it was just toxic.
"She’d finally lost control, and it was a beautiful thing. She loved me like a Dark Fae. She would rip me apart if I let anyone else touch me."
I like jealousy in a book, but this was just weird. It was also hard following along with what weird things El created, she was such a Mary Sue, and I never understood her powers. Then the whole personality change — I did not like that at all. Keep her whimsy and happy.
Whoa! Big thrills, lots of twists and turns. Such a great series. It was neat to see how certain characters played a part from the beginning and to learn whose El’s parents are. I don’t want to give spoilers but I’m happy El has her “whole” family (real, made, adopted or otherwise). Also, it was also good to see Orion. ♥️ Thank you for this series. I truly loved it. Honestly I think each of your series are my favorite while I’m reading it. I just enjoy your writing! This one especially called to me with the dancing. The world needs more dancing and singing!
Wow what a long ride on moonbeams and shine, but dang it was with it. Such whimsical, clever writing that will suck you in for the long haul. Each character was developed in-depth defining their unique personalities. I love a good slow burn, especially when the true mates are destined to be together and perfectly balanced. This series will forever shine as one of my favorite fantasy romances.
It took me forever to finish this book and not cause it wasn't good but because I felt like the book tried to hard at nonsense like wonderland but fell short. I didn't mind that weren't balanced but I felt like the idea of insanity was pushed so hard that it felt unreal. Like at what point does the main character stop telling us shes crazy and just be crazy, she kept telling us it was a hallucination but even she didn't believe that just tell us ur turning dark and go with it.
This book series was very dark. Lots of death and blood and anger, especially in this final installment. I confess, I struggled a bit getting through it. It is a pretty big undertaking though. I have to say, the ending was very satisfying. It was nice to see Met and El get the happy ending that seemed so impossible. All’s well that ends well!
While I hate that the story has ended. I do love how it did. l wish there were more stories about the side characters, but I normally want that with her books. It was an amazing read & l know l'll come back to it over the coming years to find comfort in my fictional friends.
