Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.

All I need from you is an email address to send them to. Here's the link you need - https://mailchi.mp/fd47a6eb4ae5/patri...

When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.

Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

A really enjoyable, and exciting book.

An enemy hunting Patricia Fisher, Private Investigator; called the Godmother, who is the head of the crime bosses in Patricia's working area; has vowed to get vengeance against Patricia for the interuptions to her nefarious schemes. With no choice but to 'lay low', until the police are able to facilitate an arrest on the Godmother, Patricia decides to go on a secret trip aboard the cruise ship Aurelia with the permission of the Captain,
Alistair Huntley, who is still really sweet on Patricia.

Of course Patricia can't go into hiding alone, so she takes along a few of her closest friends and a few of the people who work with her, plus a police officer who is assigned the job of protecting Patricia must also go along for the ride.

But of course, immediately upon making herself at home in her previous suite, Patricia finds out that someone on the ship has been killed!

Is this the work of the Godmother?

Has she found out where Patricia and her friends/colleagues are hiding?

Has she managed to get an assassin onto the ship ahead of all of them all and set things up to harm Patricia or her friends?

As the situation starts to unravel, a much more likely scenario presents itself?

It looks suspiciously like the work of a man who was supposed to be in prison for a crime he commited previously. One that Patricia had thwarted. Why he's back on the cruise ship, no one knows.

This fun and exciting story has some great twists and turns in it that keep you on your toes. I loved the way the tension kept slowly building, until it reached a great climax, where someone who clearly didn't deserve it, took a bullet for someone else.

Below is a repeat of the review from the last book--consistency can be a virtue! Can't it?

I've read several of this series now, and I'm totally hooked on it. At first I wrote it was a "Very amusing little stories of an older, female detective who takes on some of the oddest cases." But now it's becoming a continuing, episodic saga of her struggle with a mysterious antagonist out to kill her and her friends in the nastiest ways imaginable. But still acceptable for a "cozy" mystery.

True the murders are kind of gruesome and some really nice people get the axe. But the writing style is so light, you barely notice.

Another great mystery solved by Patricia Fisher and her team. It´s so lovely to read how she protects her loved ones and involves them in a team spirit to find who has wronged the ship she is in. Her deductive skills are well honed again in this fast paced story when every single minute counts to save their lives. Hopefully in the next book she also decides what she will do regarding her feelings for the ship´s captain! Thoroughly entertaining!
As a member of the author´s ARC team I downloaded a free copy of this book through Bookfunnel and this is my honest review.

Patricia is back on the ship Auralia, hiding from the Godmother. This time she has along with her not only Jermaine and Barbie, but also her Downs Syndrome sidekick, Sam, and his parents, along with her maid and a security agent, Wayne Garrett.

As usual, a body is found as soon as Patricia boards, and the captain informs her that there have been several acts of sabotage on the ship.

We are also told that Patricia has invited a special guest, but we don't know who this is. Must wait for Patricia and The Godmother, coming out on Dec 11, 2020.

Another rousing Patricia Fisher mystery. This time she's back aboard the Aurelia, hiding out from The Godmother. There's an immediate murder; sabotage is being done to the ship and Molly, her housemaid, goes missing. Patricia solves the mysteries and saves the day, after lots of action. I am continually amazed at Mr. Higgs' ability to keep me reading and, I must omit, I now find reading his stuff more fun than any other author I'm following (well, maybe with the exception of Mr. King...). Find his series and read them. Recommended highly.

If you are a Patricia Fisher fan then you will LOVE this one. I think it's the best plot yet; action packed as usual when Patricia is on the case. The addition of Molly, Patricia's housemaid, added another touch of humour albeit in a dangerous situation. Couldn't put my ARC down until I'd read the next page ......... and the next page ...... and the next......... Not giving the game away but there's a great cliff hanger at the end. Don't keep us in suspense for long Mr. Higgs!! :)

Oh my heavens, this is a great mystery! I absolutely love the characters, they are very realistic. A cruise ship is a perfect place for a mystery, as Mr. Higgs has proven before, and it was so nice to visit the Aurelia and crew again. The mystery had plenty of twists to keep me guessing. I can’t wait to catch up with Patricia and her gang in the next story to see what they fall into next! I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Back on the Aurelia, Patricia is instantly embroiled in instances of sabotage on the ship. When a crewman is found murdered, Patricia isn't sure if there are two issues or if they are related. Alistair is still charming. It's easy to determine the bad guy and there are many clues that are missed that would have helped her, but there is so much chaos that it's hard to keep track.
The title of the book indicated who the bad guy is.

Best One To Date!

All this avid reader can say is: wow! This story has a lot of pleasant, and some not very pleasant, surprises. It was not terribly difficult to figure out who the perpetrator is, but there are some really good twists to confirm it then to how this person is dealt with. Lots of intrigue and a whole lot of fun reading. Mrs. Fisher fans are really going to love this book. Hard to put down.

As always, I love Patricia

Another great book I couldn't put down. Who is the mystery person on Deck 8? I guess we'll have to wait until the next book. I really love Alistair and hope Patricia stays on the ship with him. I like the cruise ship mysteries better than the English Country mysteries. Just my opinion.

Great Read

I am now addicted to this series! I cannot wait to read the next in series to find out who the mystery guest is. I still wish Mr. Higgs would be more judicious with his proofreading. I also want more of the conflict between Patricia and Angelica. Is Verity going to be in future books?

This is my first Patricia Fisher book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It provided enough background to understand what happened previously, but it still would have been better to read previous adventures. I enjoyed all her old and new friends and their involvement in the mystery. Patricia came through figuring out what was happening. The rest I'll leave for you to read.

I will read anything Steve Higgs writes. I especially love the Patricia Fisher novels. His mysteries are intricate and detailed. In this one Patricia is back on the Aurelia trying to avoid the Godmother, who wants her dead. Little does she know that another person from her past has terrible plans for the ship and her as an afterthought.

Patricia is back on the Aurelia cruise ship hiding from the Godmother. Because I had never read the the first series that took place on Patricia's initial Cruise, I went back and read the first book in that series to see how she got there in the first place. What a great idea I do love Mrs Fisher, Jermaine, and Barbie.

The Most Thrilling Yet

Of all the Patricia Fisher mysteries, this is the one that had me closer than ever to the edge of my seat.
Steve Higgs knows how to layer up the drama until the crescendo puts your heart firmly in your mouth.
It’s 4am here but there was no way I was going to sleep until I’d finished this book.

Nothing like going from the frying pan to the fire! So much happens in so little time but we get to see some of my favorite characters again. The story moves quickly and we get a chance to see things from a different point of view in parts on this book. This is an exciting entry in the series.
