Gryff is finally returning to Mistral. But home is not the same as he left it, and neither is he. Now, Gryff has to figure out how to reintegrate himself into his classes and the Academy, just in time for midterms. Oh, and he’s got a wedding to plan, too.
Nuptials and more nuptials! This book was superb! I really enjoyed this one! It was totally full of shocking surprises. One thing that’s still upsetting is how Gryff treats Dio. I think Layla and Cyra is more open and free with their familiars while he always seeks to imprison and cage Dio. I think this is because he may be use to the Archons that he feels that he has to hide him constantly because he’s scared what people will think. He needs to let Dio roam free man big time. I totally love Dio. That cat is hilariously funny. I do love the progression with the ladies though. This was totally well written. I do hope we get some progress with jace and the archons soon though.
I love good stories and I love beating up monsters. I also love when authors change up their pace and scenarios to round out the story, and this one is a doozy. Yep! Did not see most of this coming, and it was a great change of pace. Great character and relational development. This book feels like it is the completion of the first part of the series, and changes the trajectory for the next part that had been building for the last 15 books. Read read read!
Gryff and his beautiful harem conquer Velopa, rescue Valreth, get critical books from the shadow from and make it back to Mistral. The wedding of the year! More incredible details to find in the book. Look if you haven't started this series so so ASAP! This series is well written, with great characters and got steamy sex. It's the perfect escape.
By book 16 you know what should happen in a summoner book, well this one is different. Not as much action as previous books. No rifts and no fighting with archons or monsters.
We see Gryf settling back into life at the academy and the eagerly awaited wedding to Nia. Lots of fun along the way. Can't wait to see where book 17 goes and if we will get more teasers for the beastmaker prophecy.
This was a heart-happy book. The team finally returned home and continue in school, a wedding is planned, and the promise of babies is on its way.
It's nice to read a book that breaks up all the fighting and sadness for just a nice time with friends and family. I kept waiting for something bad to happen, yet it never happened. The story leaves me feeling good about the world.
Each book in this series just keeps getting better than the last. Gryff and his friends start off still in the southern country and have to fight to keep the books safe. They finally make it back to Mistrial and Varla academy where they now have to pass their midterms and plan a wedding.
A nice breather after the events of the last few books. It's nice to see Gryff home again and reconnecting with friends and family. The wedding was spectacular and I loved every minute of it.
Can't wait for the next book and what is to come with the research, the Beastmaker and archons, and Gryff's mysterious past!
It doesn't have the action as the other books in the series but it's still an important part. There are a lot of little things in here that will probably be important for the future of the series and little hints as to the bigger schemes of the current arc. Worth the read and if your following the series than it brings some conclusions to some stuff.
Was kinda slow paced compared to all the recent books. It was nice having the change of pace as they readjusted to Mistral again. Biggest complaint is how flat emotionally the girls can be at times. When they found out how Gryff tamed the Archons, real girls would have made a bigger deal of it. This is why Arand's books are better to read.
I am an avid follower of Gryff and his adventures. This book, while being a return to a simpler life for our hero, was one of Eric's best stories yet. While the sex is a bit much, for me, l find the feelings of Gryff for his Ladies, babies, friends and monsters to be believable. Simply put; Great read. ONE of my favorite Summoner Books.
This book is undoubtedly my favourite in the series--hands down. Gryff finally returns home after being gone for so long. He is reunited with the rest of his lovers, lands a job, and even has a wedding. His life will never be the same. Honestly, I cannot wait to start the next one in the series. This book and series is positively awesome and worth reading.
As always this is a amazing series and the characters and world are bound to bring you joy as you read. I highly recommend picking up summoner or any of Mr. Valls works.
The book was a nice break from the constant battling in the previous books. Gryff and his women took a well deserved break. Look forward to the next book. Also was a nice wedding.
The reason this was not fully give stars is due to the slow pace of the story. There was not any drama or action and felt more like a romantic novel. I am sure the next book will kick it up a notch
Not a whole lot happens, plot-wise, but it's great to get back the majority of the characters and see everyone together. I've missed this in the last couple books.
Gryff and Mia finally get married His second year finally getting back to the academy he had to cram to passes midterms I'm gonna tell you I don't know how anybody can miss almost the whole term and still passes midterms
Quite a few enjoyable moments. Ie: Gryf explaining to his gfs how he gets the Archons to submit, the humorous running commentary of his new familiar, and Gryf summoning an Archon in the middle of his first class as a prof. Pretty funny.
Definitely a different type of Summoner book - almost no action as Griff is back at school from the adventures in the wilds. However, I liked this one a lot. Was more cozy, including a wedding to Mia. Well done.
As always an exceptional story in a great storyline!! Seeing all of the characters grow into what they have been becoming since book 1 was awesome!! More more more
I'm happy to the group take step back the craziness for a bit to work on the relationship and hype up the beastmaker mystery can't wait till the next book
