Chosen One Universe Volume Two

Rate this book
Have You Been Chosen?

For the first time, Macy Blake’s two bestselling paranormal fantasy series are being published in a three-volume mega-verse box set!

Each volume will feature three full-length MM novels with dragons, hellhounds, vampires and more, with never before published bonus material. All in reader-requested chronological order.

Volume Two:
Hell on Earth: Hellhound Champions Book One

As alpha of the hellhounds, Meshaq is tasked by his goddess to be the police of other creatures. When he meets the mysterious Drew, a human on the run, Meshaq is drawn to him in a way he doesn’t understand. His duty is clear, but his feelings for Drew have him longing for things he can’t have. Magical forces collide, beginning a battle that will require all of Meshaq’s skill as the goddess’s champion. He may be the enforcer of the supernatural world, but Meshaq is in danger of losing his heart.

Next to Nothing: The Chosen One Book Three

Sawyer is closer than ever to fulfilling the ancient prophecy of the Chosen One, but the bonds between him and his newest guardians are giving him doubts. With his reluctant hippocamp and an egotistical fae prince, Sawyer has his hands full in more ways than one. The rules are changing, and Sawyer has to adapt quickly if he’s going to keep up, especially after he’s whisked away to the land of the fae, a place with cryptic customs. One misstep could very well lead to his death.

Hell to Pay: Hellhound Champions Book Two

Hellhound beta Solomon has no complaints. Life is fine. His pack and his goddess-given duties as a protector of the human realm are enough. So what if he’s a little bored and a smidge lonely? His scheme to get to know his human pack mate comes at the worst possible time, especially as Cody is convinced he works for a group of elite mob enforcers instead of the protectors of the supernatural world. When a magical attack draws Cody into the supernatural world, can Solomon convince Cody to join them in a dangerous mission to defeat a terrifying creature bent on raining destruction on them all?

Includes bonus short story:
Double or Nothing

Mikey Smith lives with what he calls his "flickers". When he's out in the world, sometimes other people flicker and change into something terrifying that no one but him can see. He's been diagnosed with epilepsy, but part of him knows what he sees is real. When two men walk into his coffee shop, his world is turned upside down when they transform into something else... and they know he can see them. Asher and Quillon aren't expecting to add a third into their mix... but neither of them are opposed to the idea either. When they meet Mikey, they're drawn to him from the first moment. He's a human exposed to their world, though, and the consequences are severe. Can Asher and Quillon protect their new human mate from the forces that threaten him?

Le sigh...

These stories are so comforting to me.

Ok so in this set we have 4 stories that I have to share with yall. And I am so happy that they are put in the correct reading order.

Slight spoilers ahead

In the first story we have the biggest and scariest alpha hellhound, Meshaq. Otherwise known as Shaq. One day a very scared Drew shows up in his bar (conveniently shown the way by the Mother Goddess who is in all the chosen one books). Come to find out, Drew is the first omega in hundreds of years. In case you missed that, we have the first Alpha/omega pairing. The story ends with a maybe baby.

In the second story, we have Mikey, who is one of Sawyer's brothers. He has the power to see the real you, so he sees all paranormal beings. He meets Asher and Quillon, who are already mated, and love happens.

The third story is a chosen one story and in this we finally get another guardian, and it was not the prince of the fae. Mikey and his mates show up and they finally are truthful with each other. This ends with both Sawyer and Mikey attacked and Sawyer remembering who he really is.

The fourth story is another hellhound one. Solomon and Cody have worked together for years but Sol never could figure out how to tell Cody he was his mate. Then he notices that Cody is on an app called Bears4u and contacts him through that without telling Cody who he really was. Cody falls for him and eventually figures out who it really is. They fall for each other but bad things happen and Sol becomes the big bad alpha of the hellhounds cause Shaq got promoted.

The main thing is that there are many people introduced that show up in future books.

I loved all these books individually and reading them again in chronological order just makes this series even more compelling to read. The Hellhounds are more prevalent in this volume as this bundle holds Books one and two of the Hellhounds champions series, the Chosen one book 3 and a short about Sawyers brother Mikey.

I believe both of these series to be some of the best paranormal series to be written recently.

Hell on Earth (Hellhound Champions #1) 4.5*
I think I’ve been anticipating Shaq’s story since the first moment he appeared in Sam and Vaughn’s tale. Drew is so perfect for him and watching the machinations, so to speak, of the Mother Goddess is keeping me highly entertained. Because, of course, Shaq and his hellhounds are going to be involved in some way with Sawyer and his guardians to stop the evil that’s coming.

Loved this book!

Double or Nothing (The Chosen One #2.5) 4*
Mikey is Sawyer’s older brother and his entire life he’s been able to see the type of supernatural creature someone is under their human skin. He calls it his “flickers” because the first time he sees someone new it’s as if their human and supernatural forms flicker over one another. The doctors diagnosed him with epilepsy when he was a kid but he’s always known that wasn’t right... although, he’s also worried he’s just crazy.

Honestly? This story was not long enough *pouting*. I did adore watching Mikey fall in love with Asher and Quillon although I would’ve enjoyed seeing Mikey’s face when he finds out Asher is Draco’s cousin. Maybe it’ll show up in the next Chosen One book...

Next to Nothing (The Chosen One 3) 5*
Yay and thank you, Macy, for granting my wish from above. Mikey and Sawyer meeting up with explanations all around was a definite moment to enjoy!

Holy EFFING Shit. Damn. I didn’t see that ending coming. First though, I am so glad that Loch turned out to be the true guardian vs the fae prince. Kavalan wasn’t okay but truly? There was no spark, no fire between him and Sawyer so I knew something wasn’t quite right.

Now then, to discover that Sawyer is really the Mother Goddess’s SON and he chose to become human, lose his memories (at least until they began to return), and the evil he’s trying to vanquish is his own brother. Wow, Macy - what a way to throw a spinner into things! I’m so excited to keep reading!!

Hell to Pay (Hellhound Champions #2) 4.5*
Sol and Cody's story is super cute. I really would've liked more than the insta-lust although since they've known each other for years I suppose this was bound to happen. It's nice to see another hellhound bite the dust, so to speak, and I give huge kudos to the author for making Cody's reaction to the supernatural world very realistic and more in tune with what I'd expect.

Now I can't wait to jump into volume three!!

Excellent collection, fantastic storytelling

Rating: 4.75🌈

The second volume of Chosen One books is where I realized they weren’t being grouped according to series but in a reading order.

Series broken up and interspersed with each other, along with single stories, to give the overall Chosen One plot arc a flow with the characters, relationships, and events as they occur inside each novel.

So with Volume Two we get:
🔹Hell On Earth: Hellhound Champions #1(already reviewed)
🔹Next to Nothing: The Chosen One #3
🔹Hell to Pay: Hellhound Champions 2
🔹Double or Nothing- extra bonus about Sawyer’s brother, Mikey.

All four books, in that order, keep setting up the reader and the characters for the ever developing arc and multiple relationships of the Chosen One and the battle he’s facing.

We get new Guardians, new mates for characters who will , if they aren’t already, hugely important to the safety of the Chosen, and his mission to find that being responsible for all the black magic and devastating events his evil has caused.

Blake’s writing brings us into multiple lives here. Those of the severely damaged children, of the traumatized adults that still carry all the pain and damage within and on them from those years of captivity. Damage that’s carved into them and is able to make us empathize with them completely.

When bear shifter Ben cries out, it’s not just his siblings that feels his anguish, but us too.

There’s fierce battles, high suspense, and lots of very hot sex , with mates who can’t get enough of their men.

There’s also some very funny elements as well. Need those to mitigate the dark moments that are becoming faster and more severe.

All the characters are amazing as is the multi storyline development. It’s getting increasingly complicated. Blake is upping the game, adding in mythology as well as new beings, layers of history as well as new people and their mates . It’s a lot to track as each is so important to the overall picture but it all meshes.

I hadn’t anticipated this type of collection but it’s great. It makes sense and stops a person from having to jump around from series to series. Love it!

So onto Volume Three! I’m picking up speed here! This is a binge reader’s paradise!

I’m highly recommending this and Volume One.

Happy Reading!

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Where do I start?

This is a paranormal fantasy romance suspense series that has taken two different series plus various shorts and put them in chronological order within three massive volumes and they must be read in order. I’m not going to lie, I started off this series loving the prequel story and then I wasn’t sure how I felt about the rest. However, I’m coming at this review at the end of reading all three volumes over about 2.5 days. The world building is incredible, the characters each get their chance to “speak” to you and share their POV. The only downside if you will is that there is just too much sex! I love a sexy story as it relates to characters and their relationship building but there was so much sex at times that I couldn’t figure out who was even being sexed up! I’m reviewing all three of these volumes at once, so overall the story is cohesive and the plot is fantastic and frankly, you will want to read all three of these volumes one right after the other to get the full picture though.

I didn't think that the first boxset could be topped with all that was going on in it, but boy was I deadly wrong. This boxset has sent me through the roof with how much I love this series. And it has now quickly made Macy Blake a one-click for me. If you have not read these two series, you need to. And quickly. And they coincide with each other so you need to make sure you read them both. I love paranormal books. It's one of my favorite genres. And Macy has went beyond the beyond with how she's done this series. It's perfect. It has everything you need and there's still stuff not yet revealed. So I'm excited to jump into the next part of this series and see how it ends. I'm just blown away at the writing with this series, the characters and everything. It's got a great plot, good storyline and there's more to come. You can't not put these books down once you have started them and I love it.

Hell on Earth:
3.5 ⭐️
This one worked overall better for me than chosen universe so far because there’s a lot of focus on the pack and the changes happening in the supernatural world. I also really enjoyed the romance and development between Meshaq and Drew. I’m excited to see how things are going to change for hellhound pack now and the further ripples of chosen one appearing.

Double or Nothing:
4 ⭐️
This is utterly adorable and I loved the bracelet as a romantic gesture. I cannot wait for the chaos that’s going to ensue when Mikey and Sawyer are finally able to get together and meet each other’s mates!

Next to Nothing:
5 ⭐️
We’re hitting my catnip between politics and revelations cuz omgggg so many things just got revealed and I’m just aldjakdj!! And next book is hellhounds, which I’m v excited for, but I also want to know what’s going to happen next with Sawyer and co!!!!!!

Hell to Pay:
4 ⭐️
I love what’s going on with the world and the characters and so many threads starting to converge ahhh!!!!

Hell on Earth

“The only way out of the darkness is to be the light.” I want my own hellhound. Meshaq and Drew are amazing as is this magical world. Big changes are afoot and I can’t wait to see it all unfold.

Double or Nothing

“We would have waited an eternity for you...” I think I need to visit more coffee shops. I adore Mikey, Asher, and Quillon. They just make me happy.

Next to Nothing

“We all have to do our part.” Trouble is coming but I have no doubts Sawyer and his guardians will prevail. They’re finding their rhythm, which means so many OGB moments, simply beautiful. I love all of these characters but one really “blue” me away.

Hell to Pay

“Magic is changing.” Gah, I hope Sol and Cody never change. They make me swoon. The snark, the tension, the humor and the love is all outstanding as is this phenomenal series.

I had a damn good laugh reading this volume.

Hell on Earth was definitely my favourite. Shaq wooing Drew and the lengths he went to made me crack up.

Hell to Pay focuses on Cody and Solomon and oh boy - their texts were steamy as hell.

Both Hellhound books were fantastic. I loved the characters and yes, that includes grumpy Walt.

Chosen One: book 3 continues as Sawyer gets more mates. The road ahead has many challenges but is Sawyer ready to face them?

Sawyer’s mates keep getting more and more interesting as more find their way to him. Gripping instalment with never a dull moment.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no else's*

Be ready for the emotional roller-coaster ride. Have your tissues, take a breather and get back to a series of enjoyable reads.

No shortage of various personalities. The mental capacity it requires for an author create these worlds are astonishing. Every work must make sense to me. I need to feel the characters as much as possible at some point in the story. Engagement is important for me to see any book to the very end.

Well done, again!

This volume includes three full length novels. Whatever you decide, these box sets are definitely budget friendly.

definitely recommend

the good and the bad of a box set... the good is everything is all together and you don't have to figure out which is next. the bad is I can't remember what i wanted to say about the first couple books in the set. Spoiler... I KNEW something wasn't right with that crazy prince, and I loved getting updates on Ollie and his siblings! I definitely recommend this series. it has well written steam- even with the biggest poly group, lots of laughs, and an interesting storyline to keep things moving :) I'm really glad I'm reading this after all the books were written; it makes a great binge read, and I'm sure I'll have a book hangover when I'm finished!

I have no complaints about this series & I’m so grateful they put them all together in one volume like this. Once I get started, I can’t stop until every book is read. This is such an amazing series! The action, adventure & romance is off the charts! 10 on the Richter scale!
I adore the hellhounds & look forward to each one getting their mate. Sol & Cody are great together & this series shows Sol’s personality well. All of the Guardians are incredible & Sawyer is a great character. I just really love this series.
I’m off to start the next book in the series & highly recommend any of Macy Blake’s works!

All these wonderful book together and in chronological order...the best idea ever! In volume 2 we can read the first 2 books in the spin-offs series Hellhound champions where we can find out more about "Uncle Meshaq" and his hellhounds and the important role they play in The Chosen one Universe. Also a short story about one of Sawyer's brothers and more adventures, intrigue and a new Guardian in book 3 of The Chosen one series. A wonderful treat not only for huge fans of he series like me but for everyone that wants to enjoy many magical adventures in one book.

I loved Volume two. I liked the stories in this one better than the first one. It was so good and kept me eagerly turning the pages. I didn’t want the stories to end but I knew I would love the next one too! You definitely have to read them in order to understand since this is a continuation of volume one and I loved it! These characters are amazing and the plot is really good. Definitely going to read the next bundle and hopefully it’s just as good if not better! Can’t wait to see what other action and hilarity these characters manage to get up to!

The epic story continues

I really loved this second volume.

I had read the hellhounds books already and I was very happy to re-read them. Codi and Solomon and Shaq and Drew are such great couples and with everything we learn in volume one, it makes a lot more sense.

I really enjoyed the third book of the chosen one. It was deeper with a lot more intrigue. I loved the story around the new guardian and how deep the connections between all the mates are getting. It was so good.

Now on to volume three

Better than the 1st collection

I think this collection was better balanced than the first collection. These books in this collection had the right balance of steam and world/story building. I like reading these stories in chronological order versus the order they were released. I feel like things would have been spoiled otherwise. I don't like everything that happens or every decision every character makes but I think these are very enjoyable books and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Wow, what a series. The Chosen One Universe is a series of interconnected stories and books and is filled with magic, romance, and supernatural creatures. These books are well written, filled with complex interconnected characters and awesome world-building. The books also contain some poly relationships that just work and are steamy in the extreme. The story and characters develop and grow throughout the series and left me laughing out loud at some of the scenes, Cosmo :-). I couldn't stop reading and just have to finish the series.

Loved every story

I loved every story I this volume!
The Chosen one and his mates are getting closer to the final showdown and the last book dropped a couple of bombs. The relationship between the mates finally feels like more than sex and I adore Seaward

I really enjoyed the book about Sawyers brother Mikey and his mates and I wouldn't mind more of his story.

The Hellhounds and the Jerrick family are my favourites and Meshaq and Drew and Sol and Cody's books were awesome.

I will definitely continue to the next volume

Reading these stories in order in these volumes offers the continuity that reading them as they were published did not. Little details that can be missed or forgotten are right there.
There are two Hellhound books, one Chosen and Mikey, Sawyer's brother's short story. I imagine that volume three will open with Hellhound three, Nick and Jedrek's book, keeping the continuity flowing.
Always a pleasure reading Macy Blake.
And in response to a 3 star reviewer's complaint about the first volume, they're HAREM books (the Chosen). Of course there's gonna be a lot of sex!

This saga just keeps getting better!

Wow! The world building, story line (so unique, by the way), and characters keeps getting better with each story. The way the story of the Chosen One is integrated with the Hellhounds is nothing short of genius.
I love the excitement/suspense surrounding the unknown enemy and the humour and heat between the mate pairings - Cody and Sol are the funniest!
Excellent series/bundle. Highly recommend.

I am loving this universe. I also love the fact that the author has combined 2 different series and put them in order in the bundle sets. So as you are reading you can keep up with whats going on with other characters. Sawyer and his men are absolutely the best. That cliffhanger was amazing. I was not expecting that. Now I can't wait to see what happens next and what will happen to the chosen one.

I would love to give a higher rating but

Chunks of these books are skipped because of the insane amount of sex. Its just too much!!!!!! Love Shaq and Drew but really do not understand what the Goddess intended Shaq's role to be in the future. Whatever, there is a decent back story and I really like that Loch is the new champion. I didn't think it was the prince at all and it was off. Off to the next box set.
