My name is Margaret ‘Mags’ Graham, I am a gun-toting, sharp-shooting warrior...not really. Though I am a legacy... a relic, mind you, and I’m on a mission to bring peace to all of civilization in the form of an onyx heart-shaped necklace. For one thousand years living for an eternity as a powerful sorceress, I’ve only desired peace. Of course, everyone desires peace, except for a certain ex-lover of mine. No one wants to live in a dystopia, it is the utopia they desire. Well, guess what humans? A perfect world doesn’t exist and unfortunately, neither does a completely peaceful one either. Yet, I don’t want perfection, I want the world to be bearable and liveable. Please tell me if that is a suitable solution for you. Well, it has to be; because I refuse to make empty promises I can’t fulfill, for it all ends up ugly if you don’t follow through. All I need is some guidance through time, the right damned puzzle pieces, a chosen one and to get this smarmy Brazilian warlock off my back! Will I find peace? Let’s hope that these companions of mine will send us all to hell
LD Wosar is a best selling multi-genre author, but writes predominantly PNR. She lives in Las Vegas where she soaks up the sun in the blistering heat…not really. She prefers to stay indoors and write….write…write, while listening to her vast collection of vinyl records.
This story has a bit of everything for everyone. I found myself getting emersed in the world that the author creates, getting swept up in the characters emotions and enjoying every twist and turn.
This author was new to me and I'm glad I have her a chance because I got way more than I was expecting. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more books from her!
This novel is exactly what I needed, and it has a bit of everything. Love, war, robots, Nazis, kick-ass leads, time travel; just the right amount to scratch the itch in my soul. Gareth and Mags’ relationship is a wild ride to follow along to. I felt deep emotion for each of these characters, whether that was relating to them or hating their guts more than I do some real people in my life. I couldn’t get enough, finishing the book all in one day. I adored every minute reading this and absolutely recommend it.
I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but LD Wosar's imagination gripped me and drew me in. This book was a breath of fresh air. The characters are uniquely made, the world is inventive, and the story is genius. Mags and Gareth's relationship built up beautifully. Enemies, Nazis, time travel, robots are all mixed into what seems like an endless battle. Who will win?
I'm going to be honest, at the beginning I wasn't fond of Matthew Lents' narration, but that quickly changed. He melted into the characters and his accents were wonderful!
I loved this book from beginning to end. The characters are well written and the story is remarkable.
I'd have to say that Gareth is my favorite character. He comes off as a entitled rich boy but becomes this charming and sweet guy. I loved his role in this book. A lot of action and sexy times😉
I totally recommend that people read this. You won't be disappointed💗
This was a fun book. It reminded me of River Song. I enjoyed the different lovers she had across time and how everyone dealt with that. Fun, well written, and will reread.
If you like a quick fast time travel adventure, with warlocks, sorcerers, zombies, killer robots, and heinous Nazi's, then you'll love this story. Margaret Grahm, Maggie, Mags, is a sorceress with a goal... world Peace. She can't help it if Nazis, killer robots, A maniacal warlock, and a cave full of the undead want to prevent her from achieving her goal. Add-in, in her eyes, the man who is supposed to help accomplish this, is a bumbling twit, along with, all the cleus keep sending her bouncing around time to find the only item powerful enough to accomplish the task. At times it seems hopeless yet Mag's presses on never giving up, never giving in. It's a fun little romp around the world, to Vegas, and the Grand canyon. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.
I read this book and I was very impressed with how well written L.D Wosar has written this book. It's a fantastic idea for it's genre. With a mixture of old world and new world the main characters create a world of intrigue and passion second to none that places the reader in my opinion in a world full of fantasy and stimulates your imagination from beginning until the end. The concept is quite exciting and the only thing I can say for this book is, when are you going to write another one. I highly recommend you read this book and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
It's been a long time since I've read a time travel book and Relic was NOT what I was expecting. I swear, this book literally has something for everyone in it. Wosar found the intersection between historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy fiction, and she combined them into her own tale. From robots to magic, from Word War 2 to World War 6, there are plot twists EVERYWHERE. At one point I was very mad at a certain character I won't name because I don't want to spoil to story for you. All I'll say is that I audibly called him a "Bastard".
Relic is my very first time travel book, and I really enjoyed it! Mags is a badass warrior who just wants to bring peace to the world,it's full of romance, powers that be who wants to stop her from achieving her goal, and the ending was a shock! I was emotional in places, and overall it was a really great read! Thankyou L.D for introducing me to this world!
I absolutely loved this book. The characters are amazing and the story is incredible. Wosar definitely brings an amazing story about time travel. The settings and time periods are on point. I definitely think people should read this. There is comedy, love and danger.
