Lucifina: The Belle of Hell

Rate this book
For years, Lucifina lit up television screens across the region with her effervescent smile. Few suspected that this little sweetheart was no angel but rather Satan’s twin sister sent to destroy the world.

Lucifina: The Belle of Hell is a dark comedy about a teenage model’s fall from fame. After botching countless missions to recruit world leaders, she becomes a mere mortal and begins to suffer like other humans.

After giving up all hope, Beelzebub returns and promises that if she completes an operation to kill Aaron Walker, she can finally return to her beloved home –– Hell. Lucifina’s hunt is complicated when an eerie houseguest moves in for the summer.

Lucifina: The Belle of Hell

Licia Flynn, author

“No one suspected my genuine character because people always believe what they want.”

As a high school girl, Fina forges a life working as a model and commercial actress. She knows her parents need the money, and as a teenager this helps her gain some independence.

Yet high school stressors, a demon from her past, and a unexpected houseguest full of anger multiply her problems as she pursues her freedom to go to college.

Her strong serious nature sets her apart from other teens but also from the professional modeling scene behind the catwalk.

“I disagreed with the belief that one’s appearance reflects one’s soul. It’s such a shallow and cruel judgment.” This ancient twin of Satan understands far more than any fourteen year old.

I liked Lucifina and identify with her because even at the age of fourteen I, too, loved reading, and knew myself as a serious minded person. I kept myself apart, like her character didfrom other students.

Summary

If you like dark humor and strong individualistic females, this book will entertain and make you think.

Wow, I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Excellent pacing, momentum, dialogue, and conflict. I was surprised by the ending. I especially loved the interplay and tension between Lucifina and Beelzebub. I plan to read this book again.

"Lucifina: The Belle of Hell" by Licia Flynn is an infernal delight! Flynn’s razor-sharp wit and devilish charm shine through every page as she takes readers on a wild, fiery ride through the underworld. Lucifina, our captivating and mischievous protagonist, dances through the plot with a perfect blend of sass and strength, making it impossible not to root for her. The story's dark humor and clever twists make for an unforgettable adventure that's both wickedly funny and unexpectedly heartwarming. This book is a hellishly good time that you won't want to miss!

I'm a third of the way through, and am surprised by the author's insights into the darker side of the human condition. We get a glimpse of the modeling and media world and from a high schooler's POV. Not only does she create relationships between Lucifina, demons, and Satan, she interweaves Scriptural concepts about their goals for destroying humanity. *There is some language. IMHO this book is for readers over 16.
