Teenage anxiety at its finest

This volume speaks loud about the immaturity, rash decisions, hastiness, and freedom of the young, thinking they can conquer the world with so much willpower. But the truth is, they haven't seen much of life yet, they don't know what looms around the corner of that path to take. What could they do though when they're at the core of their rebellion? They rush to fight rather than think, only to suffer the consequences later. That's youth, right? Full of energy, but sadly lacking enough maturity to think things clearly.

I'm still wary of Rei's father but I like how everything ended up at this point. We can't do all things on our own, sometimes we have to lean on others for support—that way, we'll remain human. Indeed, they are just kids, and to think about marriage and building a family when you're in the age where rebellion beats louder in your heart than punk rock music is so sad to even think about (I mean, isn't elopement sort of a rebellion too, but not with their case...) Rei ended up asking his father for help in exchange for him trying to be a respective citizen (and for Kira and his future.)

It's been a minute since I picked up the last volume. But now that I have a new tablet with a large screen, I'm back at it! These were free so I'd rented a bunch of volumes on Kindle and am just now trying to cruise through them and finish them up.

This volume is definitely in the decline of the series as long standing plots begin their wrap up in the final stretch. I forget how old these characters are what with their talk of marriage and careers and stability... but the over the top drama of it all is what makes this a fun series.

What a volume!

I felt the end of the previous volume was a little "too good to be true" because nothing has been smooth sailing for this young couple, but this far exceeded what I expected! I'm not even sure what to say because the ending was pretty emotional and really feeling all the things at seeing Rei willing to give up so much.

And Kira! That was a huge decision she made in that one extremely pivotal moment. I'm honestly glad Rei came when he did and was deeply relieved by the end decision he made in that moment. He's honestly changed a lot from the young man we met at the beginning.

I honestly hope the best of things for this young couple! I don't know where things are going next, but I truly hope it is good things ahead of them! <3

100 millions stars. This volume was great.

I really felt that what Kira and Rei had was real love instead of a teenage relationship.

He gives up a lot of things for her and she does the same thing. It was beautiful to read.

Rei leaves school to concentrate on racing, Kira's stepdad comes back as a creep again, and all the threats he makes... I love that Rei's dad cares about him so much, even if Rei can't see it.

In Vol 11, Rei and Kira confront Kira's rapist and Rei very nearly kills him. Which puts them on the run for a little bit. Kira then decides that for Rei's best interests, so he doesn't have to give u his dreams of being a motorcycle racer, and so she won't be troubling him anymore, to return to her family, which sends Rei back to his father begging for help to keep the law out of what happened and to help enable him to protect Kira.

Rei's pride takes a beating in this volume, which is the best thing that could happen to him. Rei is a very prideful, arrogant person, and he's shunned his father for a long time, unnecessarily so as we will see in subsequent volumes.

While a lot goes on in this volume, it's not my favorite because again we have Kira and Rei being irrationally angsty, like Kira wondering how long it would take her to die if she stops eating and drinking after returning to her mother's house. That's over-the-top angst and while teenagers might feel that way sometimes, encouraging that type of thinking, even in fiction, is dangerous. BUT, Rei comes charging to the rescue yet again because he's made a deal with his father and now Kira's mother gives Rei permission to marry Kira. So we don't have to put Kira's resolve to the test as to whether she would starve herself to death or not.

Resolution is coming around the corner, though, and for that I'm thankful. There are a lot of unanswered questions in Rei's life and they are about to be answered so the story will ramp up again and in a healthier way.

step father drama is back. Kira and Rei are so in love with one another. I still hate her mother, how can she allow that man do anything or have anything to do with her daughter. I do wonder how this will end, I don't remember at all. Will he end up racing, will she get to do her art, is the real dad ever going to truly be introduced (cause I am assuming that is who wanted to buy her painting).

I don't know why I love this story so much. It's a weird roller-coaster of happy relief and crushing sympathy. Waiting for the next heartbreaking moment to happen, then smiling when it all comes to past. Maybe I just like to root for the underdogs of the world?

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Rei and his father. I don't really know what to make of all this yet, but I do wonder what will come of it. Will it be good, or bad ...?

Rei berniat ingin menikahi Kira.

The whole ordeal with Kira's assaulter. Very terrible. But was there possibly some character development?? I'm shocked !! Rei didn't let him fall even though many others would have (I would have) and he so easily gave up his life and dreams to make sure he could be with Kira, which I was not expecting, I mean, I wouldn't do any of that and I thought up to this point, Rei was an irredeemable character. I'm interested to see what happens now. How long did Kira's parents believe they would be able to hold her hostage anyway? She's legal in like a year. Also, why couldn't she just get emancipated? I mean, domestic assault should be a good grounds to acquire minor emancipation. Well, things just got oddly legal and even more complicated.

Soryo's drawings/art style is still beautiful, but this is usual though.

This volume gets 3 stars because nothing really happened...except for the stepfather storyline.

This was more a 4.5 stars for me. My only issue was the stepfather coming back into the picture but it was nice to see Rei's "father" help him when Kira's stepfather said he would press charges for supposedly kidnapping Kira. I wanted to reach through the comic and strangle him myself because of how pissed I was at him. I relate somewhat to Kira because of her experience with him. (Even though mine never got that far thank the lord.) but I can understand how traumatizing it is to deal with your abuser and what it does to ur mental state.

This volume made me cry.
Rei and Kira are obviously young, immature, and don’t fully understand what it takes to be independent adults.. but you can’t really blame either of them for wanting to get out of the situation they’re in, especially Kira.
To be so young and in such an abusive family situation, sometimes running away, regardless of how imperfect a solution that is, can be the only solution. I’m glad they didn’t have to run away and leave their lives behind though.

I think one of the reasons I love this series so far is because it hits so close to home for me in a multitude of ways.

I doubt that Rei will give up racing and motorcycles. Will he really become his father’s successor in the company? Kira’s Mother gave her blessing, but does she need her stepfather’s in order to get married? What does Rei’s Dad think about this? It was a good volume. I’m interested to see how it plays out in the next one.

God I hate seeing young kids suffer and have to mature early because of trauma.

If they don’t have a happy ending, I’m gonna riot!!

Unsatisfying conclusion to that conflict, but I feel like it makes sense due to Japanese culture. In my mind Step Dad falls off the roof
