When the girl who broke his heart years ago shows up at the Blackwings MC clubhouse for the President’s daughter’s wedding, Badger, the VP, is not only shocked, he is pissed. But a few words from his best friend’s wife leaves him with more questions than answers. And Badger never lets anything go unanswered.

This was a short and sweet novella about Badger aka Aaron and Macy reconnecting after years apart. It was nice to get their story after reading Phoenix and Annabelle’s book.
This seems to be the end of the series. It's short but packed a punch with more to the story than you get from some 300 page books. ... these books are about the mother chapter but there's also a spin off for another chapter of Blackwings MC. Hopefully some of the members that helped out with this series will be some of the books to come and they get their HEA
This one was short, but we got how Badger and Macy were in the past and now the present. While Macy's life was a disaster, it didn't take long before everyone had Macy's back. A very good thing as people close to her were trying to screw her over. Nice she had people to look out for her best interest for once in her life.
So very visibly rushed, as if maybe the fans had asked for a book for Badger and Macy and she didn't really have a plot line in mind and she just kind of went with the flow. the problem with that is in the very beginning of the book it started off with being that the evil thing that happened was the ex-husband and the father was conning people once you read the exactly the kind of people they were conning you'll be angry and you'll see why it's evil) then somehow it turned into something about a partnership of a busines.s I don't know they just never brought up the consequences of the conning. It was almost as if she just completely forgot all about that and I can understand why they did not do an audiobook for this one. Because unfortunately this book was nowhere near as good as the others, not to mention the ending to this book was spoiled in shakers book so that right there tells you there was no plans to write this book. I am grateful that she wrote this book, I would have just rather her not have wrote it if she was no I'm going to put half the effort into it as she did the others because I know she is capable of so much better.
I do NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. It is part of a series that contains multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe / world building, overlapping / concurrent timelines and overarching themes.
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with anxiety and depression; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure, etc.; violence within the SERIES such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, gun running, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, drug use, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females, etc.
** Caution: the SERIES contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **
There are very few grammatical issues primarily comprised of incorrect word choice and tense, punctuation errors, missed words and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
This is a quick read involving Badger, the best friend of Phoenix and the VP of the Blackwings, and Macy, Annabelle’s best friend in high school. Macy was mentioned briefly during “Phoenix”, but nothing after that until Annabelle runs into her when out shopping with another female in a later story. Badger has also played a more supportive role within the series, so I wasn’t familiar with either character.
Badger and Macy met at the same party as Phoenix and Annabelle. They fell in love and dated throughout their senior year, but both of them walked away from the relationship thinking the other one broke up with them. Badger went into the Marines, finished his commitment and then joined the MC. Macy went to college before getting married and dropping out of school to be a full-time wife.
Fast forward approximately 20 years: Macy moves back to town after her divorce left her broke, with virtually no marketable skills and unemployed. She was lucky to get a job at the farm working with Ember and fortunately that came with a nice place to live.
Macy has been trying to get her life back on track, but it is easy to fall back into depression. She was invited to Ember’s wedding, but wasn’t real comfortable attending since she didn’t know anyone else. The good thing is that it looked like a formal dinner, so it should be the best she has eaten since she left her marriage. Then while she is waiting at a table in the back, Badger has a seat. Macy doesn’t know why she is so surprised to see him, but she is until he opened his mouth …
Badger hasn’t seen Macy since she sent a message breaking his heart, but he isn’t going to let her ruin the wedding and reception for Ember, Annabelle or Phoenix. So, Badger tells her to leave … then he finds out things may not be what he always thought …
Felt sorry for both Macy and Aaron for losing all those years due to the manipulative lying and conniving of her parents. I liked getting their story as Macy popped up again earlier in this series and seems to have had her life ripped away from her. Aaron was mean until Annabelle talked to him and told him he needed to listen. Saying that though he has enjoyed the MC lifestyle and I was a bit surprised that safe sex or a clean bill of health was not discussed before having sex. Poor Macy, lied to, manipulated by and deceived in such a grievous way by her father and husband. Loved how everything is twisted around by the Blackwings to sort out things and the divorce angle was funny. At least felt some heat and connection with this second chance couple. Read in the box set through Kindle Unlimited.
This was an okay addition to the Blackwings MC series. Even being a novella, it felt really short and the conflicts were very quickly dealt with- so quickly that they can barely be called conflicts. It’s a cute HEA story of good triumphing over evil and other than financial exploitation by trusted family members, it isn’t as heavy in themes and triggers as some previous books in the series. Featuring Badger, the MC VP (who frankly doesn’t feature as prominently as one would think across the series), and Macy, Annabelle’s high school friend, who was teased a couple of books ago as the one that got away, this second chance romance explores reconciliation after discovering that years of bitterness against one another was orchestrated by people that should have been trusted.
After binge reading the Blackwings MC (Original Chapter), I think this was absolutely the best way to tell Badger's story. The novella starts with a couple of chapters that show the field party from Badger's point of view. This is the same party that is described at the beginning of Phoenix's book. They have a teenage relationship that ends in bitter heartbreak. However, what I really like about the flow was that it didn't feel like the events were being rehashed. It was enough to set the overall tone, and then move on to the present. I know that there were some reviews that were upset that the book was so short. I just felt that it was perfect as is.
I'm sorry Badger didn't get a full length story but this was a gr8 way to pull everything together. I hate shorts, but I had to read this one I just knew that I had to read Badgers story and I loved it. The Blackwing boys will stay with me for a long time. This was absolutely a can not will not don't want to put down series. I highly recommend reading the books in order to get the whole experience. Teagan Brooks thank you for sharing these boys with us, keep writing these amazing stories!
Mostly because I didn’t realise this was a novella until I read it.
A second chance romance, recently divorced Macy returns home with nothing after catching her ex husband cheating on her. Unluckily for her she didn’t read the prenup she signed before their wedding.
Attending a wedding is the last thing she wants to do, hoping to fly under the radar and get in and out quickly. Of course things don’t go her way a bitter confrontation with her former childhood sweetheart just adds to the current disaster that her life has become.
I've always wanted Badger's story and Miss Teagan was polite enough to gift is with it. It is short sweet and kinda spicy!!! Badger and Macy were destined for each other from the very 1st time they met. Outside interaction decided to play a role in destroying something beautiful. Fast forward a few years and watch just how true soul mates can find not only each other, but love as well.
I chose this rating because this was actually pretty good read. I enjoy most of the characters. This was a book of manipulation, compassion, And getting back with your 1st love. I really like the way the couple got back together as well. This was a book of finding yourself as well and realizing what you have lost. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance and MC lovers.
I don't even see the point in writing this novella, other than getting paid for another book. This story could easily have been included in any of the other books. It was very boring, and way too short. It felt like there was no effort at all to the story, relationships, any of it. I typically love her books, but this was sub par at best.
I have really enjoyed this series, and although this one had a lot of the same things in it that was in another story, I still enjoyed it. I do wish that this would've been a little longer, but overall it was a great book. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and terrific author.
This one was quite tame compared to the other ones in the series. And didn't seem as long to me. Don't get me wrong I love Badger and Macy but I just feel that their story and they kinda got shorted. That they didn't get what they deserved. Still a good book and loved seeing all the characters but just lacking for me so not quite 5 stars for me on this one.
Love again after so long. It's so great to see Badger be able to fall once again in love! This is a great ending to this section of the series. It starts to tie people together. You start to learn a little bit more about how everything kind of came to be. Wonderful plot great characters. I can't wait to read more about this biker family!
This is a sweet read of a couple who were torn apart when they were in their late teens by a relative. Each thought the other had caused their romance to end. When they meet years later, it’s difficult. After much angst, the truth gets revealed. This is a short read filled with drama and resolution. Sweet read. HEA. No cheating, no cliffhanger.
Another winner in this series. This book was really good, even though it was really short, all the things that make a book a good read were included. Hoping that there will be additional books in this series.
Everyone loves a good VP story and Badger is no exception. Seeing him get his HEA with Macy was a definite highlight to this series! Love love love this novella!
This was more of a cute companion book to finish the series and I'm glad that we finally got to know the story of Macy and badger but I'm still trying to work out the ages of everyone in these books 🤣
If you've read the first five books then you know Badger is Phoenix's best friend and Macy was Annabelle's best friend. They were manipulated into breaking up and now 20 years later all the truth and debauchery comes to light.
I loved these two. Although a short story, it was so sweet. These men are tough and lovingly wonderful men. Teagan is a wonderful writer. Thanks for this entire series! It's a beautiful series of love and betrayal of people we love...
Was difficult getting a read on badger from previous books a d whilst I like this novella I really do wish he’d been given a longer book as he’s the vp for goodness sake. That said these last two books are my favourite.
I was a little disappointed, because I could not review the last book I read in the series! 470 the system will let me so therefore I'm reviewing the last actual book in the series as a 5! I'm covering both books LOL
The best book in the series next to the one about Phoenix and Annabelle; but wish it had been a little longer! Wish the author had let the read know what Badger and Macy were going to have!
At kast, Badger has what he had always wanted. Just like Phoenix, Badger had fallen in love in high school. Macy had been his only love and it broke his heart when she broke up with him. She was heart broken when he broke up with her. The truth was painful.
Badger and Macys story isn't long but definitely still worth it. You get a glimpse into how they met, what happened between them and how it all came to light. It sucked to find out what Macys own family did.
