Fuyumi Soryo (惣領冬実) is a Japanese manga artist from Beppu, Oita, Japan. She is a graduate of the Oita prefectural Geijutsu Midorigaoka High School.
She was born into the home of a master of the Kanze school of Noh. In her childhood she liked to draw pictures of horses and things but had no special interest in manga. While enrolled in fashion college, she happened across Shogakukan's Rookie of the Year Contest and applied to raise money for the Sōen fashion contest. There she received an honorable mention, and debuted with "Sunspot Visitor" (Hidamari no hōmonsha) published in the April 1982 edition of Bessatsu Shōjo Comic (now Bestucomi).
Her works translated abroad include Mars and Eternal Sabbath. In 1988, she was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōjo manga for Boyfriend. Currently her last manga series is Cesare which centers around the infamous Borgia family of the Italian Renaissance and Cesare Borgia himself.
It was inevitable what happened to Yuri's family... it was, once again, a moment where I wondered why Mine was so shocked when it seemed pretty obvious.
At first, I did wonder why Mine was so obsessed with Yuri's mother, but now the tie in presents itself. It seemed to be going on a very different route than Isaac so I wasn't sure. It's like they had forgotten about Isaac completely so I was a little unsure of what the point was to that storyline. But now I know!
Dua volume lagi!! Tekanan demi tekanan terhadap para tokoh yg terlibat silih berganti. Penuh dengan sisi gelap, seperti yang diharapkan utk perkembangan ceritanya
ES (Eternal Sabbath): Volume 6 is a fast-paced story that kept me flipping pages late into the night. ES is a most interesting manga series. It is dark and depressing, but addicting also. There are so many unanswered questions and I hope that some will be answered soon. And that Isaac . . . what a nasty little pill he is. I sure hope that Akiba gets the best of him in the end.
The artwork is once again very good and I appreciate the fact that the characters eyes are not the typical humongous eyes that are in a lot of Japanese manga books. I also enjoy the fact that there is not a ton of dialog, but there is a lot of artwork. That may be a little confusing, but what I mean is that there are more pages in these books than the typical manga books, and sometimes there are four or five pages in a row without a word of dialog. It makes for a fast and furious read.
Overall, ES (Eternal Sabbath): Volume 6 is another great addition to the ES series and I sure hope that Isaac doesn't get the gun back. In Japan, there are not a lot of guns on the street like there are here in the United States. I look forward to more answers in ES (Eternal Sabbath): Volume 7.
A tough volume, so be warned. There are some disturbing murders, psychological breakdown, and child abuse. These are nothing new for Soryo, of course, but it is still difficult to read. They fit within the story and do their job to horrify the reader, but I didn't expect them and so was taken by surprise.
