Damned and Damaged

Rate this book
Twenty-four-year-old Annie Greene’s life has been on hold for the past ten years, but with a new career as a journalist at the local paper, she finally feels strong enough to leave home and put the past behind her. It has not been an easy road, but she has learned to face her demons and even though she hasn’t entirely rid herself of them, they are no longer tormenting her. However, Jon Davies, the world-famous, reclusive artist has a long way to go before he comes to terms with his.

Thanks to her little dog, Polo, Annie manages to get an interview with the artist-who-doesn’t-do-interviews on the proviso that she becomes his next muse. What has she just agreed to? Has she not just spent the last decade trying her hardest not to be noticed?

It isn’t long before Annie discovers that in spite of his issues, Jon is a caring and compassionate man who uses his gift to help others and is not the oddball that everyone seems to think he is. The more time Annie spends with Jon, the more she realises she likes him. Until she discovers that the skeleton in his closet is far darker than she first thought. His secret jars with everything she has learned about him. After some serious soul-searching she comes to the conclusion that if anyone can understand that people make mistakes, it is her. So, she sets out on a path to try and help him, but little does she know that in her quest to help him deal with his issues, she is stirring up a hornet’s nest that threatens to destroy them both.

Can two broken souls be stronger than one?

So enjoyed this book.

Well I was bowled over with Amelia’s Tagan Series, so couldn’t wait to get my hands on Dammed and Damaged.

I could not put this book down, what a journey you go on with Annie and Jon.

We get angst, suspense and romance! what more can you ask. This is also a book of self discovery, we have two people who have endured a tragic past and both have dealt with this in very different ways.

Finding one another may just be what they needed, although they may not think so. They really think they’re dammed and damaged.

This was a great read, with a few twist along the way, most definitely a page turner. Another great book by Amelia.
