Night Terrors
By J.Z. Foster
This continues the action packed adventure as the strange creatures are after the crew on Mars as they are trying to escape. They have their shuttle crashed, many crew dead, and the giant creature forming from smaller ones. It's getting smarter too! Braun, the scientist they are to retrieve, insists they have to close the gate before they leave. This proves almost impossible. Very exciting!

In my personal opinion, this series was perfect—the pacing, the character development, the creepy space zombies (yes I’m going to continue calling them that) and the intimidating aliens. What a ride! It’s been such a long time since I’ve read through and thoroughly enjoyed a book series this thrilling. NIGHT TERRORS was an excellent conclusion to part 1 of an all out battle with the evil unknown.

In book four, the crew of the Perihelion is dwindling in numbers as the alien horde and their indestructible leader (the Harbinger) close in on their victims. But there’s an inkling of hope. A chance to escape Mars is discovered, and our heroes must fight for that narrowing window of survival.

I was completely engrossed in this brilliant and terrifying story. I had to mentally prepare to say goodbye to some good characters and I felt the stakes rise with every chapter. During stressful times like these, this was also the perfect series to escape into while in quarantine. NIGHT TERRORS was simply fantastic and I’d be a fool not to recommend it to as many sci-fi horror fans as possible. Plus, with both Black Friday and Christmas right around the corner, this is definitely the perfect gift for the book lover in your life. Even better, grab this series and binge-read it over the long winter. Whatever the reason, you’ve got to check this series out.

(Special thanks to J.Z. Foster for the opportunity to read and review such an awesome series!)

Night Terrors was unsettling, suspenseful, and oh so satisfying! This series just keeps getting better and better. It is full of well developed characters, some worth loving, and some perfect to despise. If you think you know what is going to happen, just turn the page. READ THESE BOOKS!

What an incredible series of books! I view the 'season 1' books of Reality Bleed as a serialized novel. That may not be how they were intended but they tell one complete story and it's really impossible to review one without talking about them all. I believe that this 4 part story is one of the best horror/sci-fi books that I've read in years. The characters are excellent and understandable, the world-building is lush and interesting, the monsters are terrifying and original, and the whole story feels exceedingly fresh while also somehow being familiar.

All of my favorite horror/sci-fi high notes are present, Doom, Event Horizon, Alien, Dead Space, The Thing, etc. While borrowing from or alluding to all of these stories and more, Reality Bleed is never anything but Reality Bleed. If you like any or all of those games/movies/books you will LOVE this story. I highly and enthusiastically recommend these books. I cannot wait to read the Season 2 story.

It is difficult for me to rate a 5 star when I lose a favorite character but I couldn't put this book down, couldn't blink, couldn't stop turning the pages and now I have to wait ...................for the next book ACK. Alice, the heroine, is my new favorite character. I'm pulling for her to be the new Queen of Payback. I haven't fallen this far in love with sci-fi since I read my first Ray Bradbury. If you started the series, you are suspended in the hellish period of time waiting on the next what happens now......

Wow, this installment of the series was hardest for me to take! I had a hard time saying goodbye to my favorites but really enjoyed the evolution of others. This series is a well written with an extremely fast paced story that every science fiction reader would want plus a good dose of creepy horror to keep you guessing. The ending made my teeth grind and now I have to wait for book 5 but even so this is a very gripping story and I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Syfy has never really peaked my interest until I started this series. And now I cant wait until every new story comes out! Just when you think you have it all figured out Foster and Woodward throw another wrench into it. What will Alice do next and will she continue with a vengeance? As this book wraps up the first half of the series I am eager to read what these 2 authors will come up with next.

This was a superb finale to this portion of the story. I love how it tied everything together but left it open ended and with plenty of questions for the next set! The writing is clear and to the point, the plot meanders a bit, but I promise it will all make sense in the end! I've said it before, but I will say it again, the way this comes alive down to the sights, sounds, and smells is unique and I can't wait to see what these two come up with next! Thank you for a phenomenal read!

Without giving away any spoilers, I was constantly surprised by the twists and turns throughout the story, right to the very end. I had to read a few pages through my fingers (which is also how I watch scary movies, so not atypical in my world). Gotta love me some Braun sass.

Incredible end, to the first four parts of the reality bleed series. An endless amount of moments that have you nail biting, cursing under your breath, silently cheering, and frantically trying to find out what happens next!

The fourth entry of the Reality Bleed series. This one focuses on the crew's attempt to escape from the Mars space station. Of course our favorite creepy crawlers aren't going to make it easy for them.

This might be my favorite one so far. Everyone from the characters to the Cronux was well utilized. Night Terrors lacks the amount of action of its predecessors but succeeds in making events MORE meaningful. Storytelling was simply superb.

Can't wait for book five!

Again, good delivery of the horror elements. I liked most things. The biggest problem I had was with the death of a character I liked, after that scene, the story just wasn't as good for me. I would have enjoyed the book more if the ending was a bit different. 3.5*

What a thrill ride! This series is so much fun to read, full of action, fear, and gore. There’s more character development in this 4th book, with some backstories that add insight into why they are who they are. Loving this!

I am leaving the same review for each book in this series as I loved them all. Its Doom meets Lovecraft and the action is intense.
Both of these authors are great separately, together they are a force to be reckoned with.
I highly recommend this series.

DR
The survivors regroup. With the singular aim of surviving and getting the hell off of Mars and as far as possible away from Felicity station. Survivors grit their teeth, push through exhaustion and adrenaline crash. Putting their heads together, they have a plan that just might work. The things continue to come through and bring new monstrosities with them, what appears like eggs parasitizing on host beings with spindly insectile legs.

The author's choice to include the horror's perspective makes them surprisingly human. As monstrous as hive mind world devouring cancer-like in it's adaptivity predator thing can be. If one were to be communicated by god who wouldn't wish to follow it's voice and devote their being to please it, if not to experience it's communication again.

Dr. Braum is tired. While Perihelion's crew had time to acclimatize after cryosleep and a moment of bliss with Perihelion taking off Felicity station, Braum hasn't had that luxury. The environment is demanding and without an environmental suit for half the duration and no CAG at all, he is primed to make a decisive mistake.

Conclusion: 4/5. Listened on Audible included in plus catalogue, bought for re-listening for 1 credit. Narrated by: Tom Taylorson. What a way to finish season 1. "We heard a knock!" says the person with eyes shining the glint of innocence and excitement. World needs more men like Alice Winter's father (God knows we don't deserve more men like Dr. Braun). "The world is a horrible place! A shithole!", "The world is a terrible place... There is going to come a time in your life when you don't have any good options. Where anything you do makes you hurt. But you decide what's right." Terrible value for the length of the book - 2.00 $/hour ( 10.50 $ / 05 hrs 14 mins ).

Values:
Terrible: >1.66 $/hour
Bad: 1 - 1.66 $/hour
Good: <1 $/hour
Dream: 0.4 - 0.27 $/hour

Stars:
1 - Not worth the resources to reproduce/preserve this title.
2 -Bad
3 -Good
4 - Personally, love it
5 - Recommended to everyone

Of all the books in the series so far, "Reality Bleed: Night Terrors" is definitely my favorite.
It picks up with the crew of the Perihelion in a seriously dire situation, trapped on Mars and getting picked off by an alien threat that's getting smarter by the minute. They've got a crashed shuttle, a lot of fallen comrades, and a terrifying giant creature made from smaller ones. Their mission shifts from just escaping to a desperate last stand, as Braun convinces them they have to close the interdimensional gate first. The constant tension means you genuinely never know who will make it out alive.

What really makes this book work is how the author has found the perfect rhythm between action and giving time to explore backstory and character intentions. The scenes in this one have graduated finally to being genuinely dread-filled and creepy, with some truly shudder-worthy moments that stuck with me. It feels like the series has fully evolved from a contained creature feature into a much larger, more intelligent conflict. The climax was very satisfying. I have come around on this series and am interested to see where the next installment takes the story.

A good continuation of the series with a conclusion that wraps up current events (It makes sense that the Audiobooks are grouped into a series of books 1-4). I would give the first four books an average rating, although I certainly enjoyed some aspects. The concept is cool, with a sort of "survival horror" element similar to a videogame. I feel the series is heading in a good direction with the story and plot ripe for improvement. There were hints of future conflicts within the story, with the possibility of more unique POVs which is promising.

Another suspenseful, terrifying, tension-filled episode; the crew is getting smaller by the minute, and the Harbinger is making light work of them. Tommy steps up to the plate and takes charge of the remaining, terror-torn crew. With a plan, they forge forward to implement it in the hope of saving themselves and getting off Mars. A great read in what's turning out to be a very good series. On to the next one.

Awesome and bittersweet ending

Great ending to the first chapter of Reality Bleeds. Elliot finally gets what he deserves. Alice continues to be a badass. Tommy makes the ultimate sacrifice. Braun continues to be a scheming evil POS but you still love to see what he has planned. I can't wait to see where the series goes next

I have mixed feelings.

I liked some stuff. Did not like some stuff.

The characters were entertaining, and the ending isn’t really an ending… since the next 4-5 represent a different chapter.

A strong book in the series, nonetheless!

While the horror elements feel kind of cliche, the delivery is really good!

I finished season 1, books 1-4. I think there are 12 in the entire series. This wraps up the ordeal on Mars. So many main characters have horrible things happen to them. I swear you will not get bored as you keep turning the pages. This has become my favorite sci-fi series. If you llover space opera, add this to your list.

The Mars story ends here and boy, was it a good ending. I got quite attached to some characters and liked how it finished up. The next in the series seems to be on Earth but I'm guessing those pesky monsters will show up again.

If you like sci-fi action/horror then I'd definitely recommend this series. It's like DOOM, Dead Space, and Alien rolled into one. Very enjoyable.

Enjoyable and riveting read, up to the point where Tommy died and Alice morphed into Ripley and the story reset itself. Still not sure how Nazi's factored into things aside from providing an analytical approach similar to Ash in Alien. This story line has played out for me.

Okay, now this is great. Series took a bit to heat up but man, this was worth the read.

Mechanized Nazi?
Other-world sentient beings who don't care who they kill and try to wear your face?
Claustrophobia, darkness, and terror?

Yep, it's all here. And it's a deliciously fun read.

A fitting conclusion to the events happening on Mars. Again a lot of action, a fast pace and some nice body horror. I still like the character of Will Braun the most, he is just funny with his logic thinking. 3.5 Stars.
