The chemistry between Jaelynn Waters and Kamden Ross could cause an explosion, however, Jaelynn had some healing to tend to, deeming her emotionally unavailable for an all-consuming man like Kamden. Kamden knew Jaelynn was made for him. Still, he gave her the space she required, accepting her as the best friend she was becoming. But after almost two years, Kamden was losing hope in what could be their fortified future. In order to protect his own heart, he thought it was necessary to explore love outside of their defined lines.
Will Kamden finally let go of what could be? Is Jaelynn destined to continue breaking her own heart? Or will love flex its powers and heal what was once broken?
Welcome to Kay Shanee's Reading Korner Kay is forty something wife and mother, born and raised in the Midwest. During the day, she is a high school teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime is reading and writing romance novels about the dopeness of BLACK LOVE.
Whew chile! Jaelynn and Kamden did not have it as easy as the other two couples. Between rape, a miscarriage, and two exes that wouldn’t let go, these two had to fight hard to be together. When Jaelyn is finally ready to tell Kam she’s in love with him, he’s already moved on with crazy azz Vida. First of all sir, how you gon’ bring your new girlfriend to my sister’s wedding without a heads up or a courtesy call?!!! SMDH! Needless to say, the introduction of Vida changes Jaelynn and Kam’s friendship and not for the better. Everything finally comes to a head on New Years Eve when Jaelynn not only confesses her love for Kam but, she also reveals she was raped by her ex. This is when Kam shows us he’s bout’ that life. After he and Myles handle Drew’s triflin’ azz, Kam and Jaelynn are finally able to move forward with their relationship. I loved how hard Kam loved Jaelynn. When they decided to finally be together, he was in 110% but, he pissed me off with that tantrum he threw about Jaelynn and the Plan B. I get that he was all in but, if she’s not sure she's ready to have a baby, you don’t guilt trip her into having one because, she’s in love with you. His reaction felt like straight up manipulation. And while I was not a fan of Vida, how Kam treated her was foul. Yeah she did some messed up shyt but, her actions were fueled by his treatment of her. No woman wants to be a placeholder then, dismissed like their feelings never mattered. Kam knew good and well he was in love with Jaelynn so, he had no business even entertaining Vida. I didn’t like some of the choices he made but, I did love me some Kam and Jaelynn as a couple. I loved the friendship and foundation they built. Kam’s passion and protective nature for Jaelynn was sexy but, it was also overbearing at times. Heal My Heart was black romance personified. The family dynamics of this series was superb. The love the Ross brothers and Braelynn, Jaelynn, and Myla had for each other went beyond heartwarming. This series was the true definition of black love. I was almost sad it was over until someone told me Myles had a story. Let me jump right into To Have Her Again so I can see just how gangsta Myles really is.
It's been a year and a half since Jaelynn and Kamden met in real life for the first time and they've been keeping up a friendship ever since.
Both were too stubborn to admit their feelings to one another, and by the time Jaelynn got the courage to do so, Kamden entered into a relationship with someone else.
After an awful encounter with Jaelynn's ex, things start to change for both of them. Will they finally be together?
Yes, I was right, these two are my favourite couple. They had a lot more to go through than the other couples, and their love managed to survive it all. And they also had a solid friendship foundation before jumping into a relationship which is what I love to see.
Although that foundation did cause one specific issue...Kamden has always wanted kids right, so after a night of unprotected passion he finds Jaelynn with plan b pills...and throws them at a wall? SIR.
I'm glad they smoothed that out, but in that scene he was being very unreasonable. They'd only been together as a couple for 2 days at most.
Anyway, he redeemed himself with what he did to Drake. And the thing that happened to Drake afterwards can only be called karma. Good riddance. AND DREW TOO, BYE.
Also can we talk about this cover? All three so far are pretty, but this one is my favourite.
MYLES IS NEXT, I don't know what to expect but I'm sure it'll be good. I really want to get to know him more.
I absolutely loved this couple....Jaelynn had a lot she had to deal with and she came out on the other side like a trooper....Kamden had to deal with a crazy ex also, but this man was persistent. He knew that Jaelynn was his forever...they really made a really cute couple....The Ross Men were definitely taught how to love and take care of a woman.
Lord knows I love a great love story, and this one was a Love Story! The real life incidents the author warned us about were palpable because I knew things would pan out in the end. I hoped Jaelynn's strength would prevail. In the story, I could feel the love and joy between Kamden and Jaelynn as well as the other couples. Kamden was the example of a good man's way of caring for the one he loved. We all knew his little placeholder diva did not stand a chance with Jaelynn on his mind. The Ross men are my kind of crew. Myles.... man the dude was sexy, scary crazy drool worthy. I hope we hear more about him later.... So Freaking Good!
This was my least fav story but it was still good. I’ve enjoyed this brothers with their stubborn selves. Even though I think they were a little dramatic at times, I love that they played no games about these women and wasted no time making it known what was up between them.
Kamden and Jaelynn had been dancing around their attraction for almost two years. Jae was in a bad place when they first met and she was upset about their attraction, because she really needed to heal before pursuing anything with someone. They became close friends as time passed, but Kam started to give up hope that they would ever be more. Just when she was ready, it seemed that he was no longer interested. I gave Kam the side eye because after Belize and seeing Jae visibly upset, if you were really bout her why string Vida along and then have the nerve to bring her to Jae's city, but you ain't really want her like that?? He was messy for that. However, Kam did show he was completely down for Jae when the time came.
There was so much drama that was heavy on their relationship. It was too much for me, I felt like one attack was enough, but a second was over the top. I think value could've been added elsewhere. I felt like the situation with Myles was way extra with the way they handled sharing that info, because absolutely no discussion needed. The Plan B situation was too much, I felt like Kam was way into his feelings and should've been able to hear Jae out. It felt like she was cornered and I didn't like that at all. I felt like pick a struggle because there were so many.
Overall, I enjoyed the characters in this series and look forward to reading Myles' story. Also shout out to the author for using the name Kamden, my oldest son who is almost 20 is Camdyn and it's cool to see his name being used.
I waited for these two to finally get out of the friend zone and be together & this was everything 🥹😍. I love Jae & Kam, I love how patient he was with her. The Ross Brothers are one of my favorite series.
I read this two years ago but I had to spin the block to review
Heal My Heart by Kay Shanee is about janitorial company owner Kamden Ross and MyLynn’s Bedroom Boutique co-owner Jaelynn Waters. I love these two and the friendship that they built. I love Kamden’s passion, his protective nature is very sexy. I love that Kamden didn’t play any games, as soon as Jaelynn gave him the okay he was adamant that they go together. The relationships, brotherhood, sisterhood overall family dynamic is inspiring and the epitome of Black Love! This was an excellent way to wrap up the series although I would still love to see Myles find love.
I’ve been rooting for Jaelynn and Kamden since they appeared in “since the day we met.” They’ve low key been my favorite couple, I’m glad the author gave them the love story they deserved. They survived some hard situations and came out on top. Great storyline and even better ending. Now we need Myles story next.
Really like the series and am excited to read about Myles next. My only critique would be the writing in terms of how the character repeats what happens in the previous character. For me as a reader it seem liked a filled and stopped the flow of the story. I already read in Kam chapter and didn’t need to reread in now in Jaelynn chapter. Story should flow from one chapter to the next. But great character development and plot!
Whew, this book took me on a roller coaster but I didn’t expect anything else from these two firecrackers Kam and Jae. They started off as friends but it was obvious that they were indeed more. It took Kam attempting to move on for Jae to make a move. As soon as they got together, I felt the drama started and continued. I definitely saw the healing aspect in this story. I admired Jae for making the decision to heal before pursuing a relationship. Okay, I didn’t like how the situation with Vida happened, it was so messy and disrespectful. I will never feel comfortable with a man using another woman as a placeholder. Stay single and work out your issues, period. In the end, yeah she did do some foul shit but man, who wouldn’t in that situation? The assault was devastating to me and for the most part I felt the author handled it well. I didn’t have an issue until it was attempted a second time. I just felt that’s as way too much for one book. To have to deal with the horror of having to go through that again, Just way too much. I did appreciate the author touching on therapy for both Kam and Jae. I love the passion in Kam. He knows what we wants and he goes after it full force. Did i mention I liked that already? Lol! The family dynamics of this story was top notch. These brothers are there for each other every step of the way and I loved to see it. I also loved how the women were a force together. Loved their friendship and support of each other. Myles intrigued me. I definitely want to see more from him and his life. I can’t wait. Overall, this book wasn’t bad. Some things were definitely unrealistic at time but it makes for a drama filled read. Definitely not my favorite of the three books but I enjoyed the story of two friends taking it to the next level. I look forward to more stories from this author, I like her style. Thanks ariesreadtoo for putting me on.
Ma'am you have once again, put me in an emotional chokehold with these characters! For Jae and Kamden to be the youngest of the bunch, they held tremendous strength. How Jae was able to bottle up her feelings, pack them away and continue on being a boss was incredible! No wonder she took her time, to unload her baggage, before she claimed her man. Kamden, was the youngest Ross, but he was no baby! Putting his feelings on the backburner, to be the friend Jae needed, made him The Man! He was sensitive, but passionate and a savage! When he reached out to Myles, I was like, I see you Kam! He went hard for his woman! The way Kam protected, cared for and loved Jae was everything! They went through the storm together, and emerged stronger than ever! Loved catching up with the Ross brothers, and Jae's sisters. Now Myles! Is he some kind of criminal mastermind? Wow, is he intense and intriguing at the same time. Hope he gets a story soon. Another great read! Bravo! 👍👍👍
Kameron and Jaelynn have been friends--brought on by Jae's inability to fully express her feelings for Kam and commit to him. But now, at Braelynn and Myla's double wedding to Kyree and Kolby, she's ready for him to know how she feels. But now, he's got a girlfriend. Is she too late?
Jaelynn's past trauma and her hesitance kinda tore at my heart a bit. I felt for her. Kam's attention to detail in knowing when things weren't right with her and when he should go to her was a nice piece of the writing. He did do the girlfriend dirty, but also she should have moved on. I think that ending of that was okay. Kam's anger about the Plan B seemed a little out of nowhere, but their dream of a family being derailed the way it was had me emotional. For the most part, I enjoyed the ride, but there were parts that seemed a little too dramatic for no reason. I rooted for them the entire way though. I knew Kam would get her and love her.
I don't even know where to begin...this book was a feel good rollercoaster! Those Ross men aint nothing but the truth. They are strong, smart, loving and ready to build solid futures and have the ability to do so. They stood by their families and meant what they said when they said it. On top of all that they slang "D" like they getting paid to do so! I knew Jae and Kam's story was gonna be a banger but I had no idea. After denying their feelings for almost two years, they finally gave in and were hit with one blow after another. However, with communication and time Jae let Kam heal her heart. I hope Myles gets a story because I can't let this family go!
Yesssssss, this book was SO GOOD! It was super emotional and, whew chile, some parts were hard to read through, but it was a really great story. I loved Jaelynn and Kamden from the very first time I saw them together in Myla's story. I hate it took them as long as it did and that poor Jaelynn had to keep going through it, but Kamden truly was the healing balm for Jae. This was a beautiful story! Also, I hope Myles gets a book, his story sounds very intriguing. Great job on this one! 5 ⭐️ Stars!
Jaelynn’s and Kamden story was the icing on the cake! Their friendship paved the way to a unbreakable bond. Love triumphs all! Everything they encountered and endured played a part. Seeking therapy was vital and I was so glad they engaged in it for their healing process. Their love and support also played a huge part. An absolutely awesome story with some real life issues being addressed. The playlist was great!
Ok Kamden!!! Love your girl then. This was by far the most intense relationship out of the group. Kamden didn’t come to play. They were made for each other. Jae didn’t play either. I love how everything turned out for them despite their valleys. Their chemistry and openness to one another got them through. They gone all keep having babies 🤣😂...young and in love.
I must say the babies of the bunch turned out to be my favorite couple. Who knew all that Jae had been through. Kamden started off in boss mode from the jump protecting his queen. I love the bond between the fella’s and the ladies. With family and friends like that they can literally survive anything! P.S. Myles is bout it and can get it! Everleigh who?😂
Kamden and Jaelynn are my favorite couple out of the three. Jae been through so much. I am glad Kamden helped her through it. I love them as a couple. They finally are together. Very good book. I hate that this the end of the Ross brothers. Can you give us a book on Myles and the Ross female cousins.
Kam & Jae topped off dem Ross brothers storyline. Kam provided Jae the strength that she needed to make herself whole again. The love and passion that they have for one another was always there. I love that the foundation of their friendship made the transition of their loveship stronger.
Great Read. I recommend reading the books in order to see the development of this beautiful love story.
I loved every word!!! Each book was better than the proceeding one and they all were bomb!!!! Kamden and Jaelynn definitely had a more challenging road to travel but the journey was eventful and rewarding. Let love heal you!!!!! my
great book to read. I love how they both were feeling each other but wouldn't act on it. They both were in friend zones with each other and almost lost it. Looking forward to more books.
Honey, let me tell you. I was only 5% in then the waterworks came. This book was heavy, real heavy, but they overcame it all. There was a lot of love given and shown and reciprocated in this book. I'm telling you love makes things happen. Love will make you put your life on the line and risk your freedom for it. It will have you going against the grain and going to war with God. This book implemented and solidified all of that. All of needed our hearts healed at one point in our lives, and this book helped me more. Amazing read Kay Kay!!!!!!😊
Wow! Kamden and Jaelynn! Whew! Their story touched on a lot of emotions because of all the obstacles they had to get past. I laughed, cried, cheered and sighed, and kept the pages turning.
Great book! Loved it! Kamden knew that Jaelynn was his wife. I'm glad he never gave up on her! He protected his queen like a real man should. And those love scenes though! 🔥
This was a great series, I loved reading about the different couples and you brought something different with each pair. The babies were my favorite though!
I loved Jae and Kam story. Kam loved Jae beautifully and through anything. I hate what Duke did to her to make feel she was at fault but Kam loved her through it all.
