He got on my nerves when I was his teacher … but I never knew he was such a brat …

I’ve been out of the kink scene for years, but when I’m invited to a meetup at Mischief I can’t resist. It should be too far from home for anyone to recognize me. But it’s not. Hunter is a blast from the past: a student who failed my class twice and never stops acting out. But there’s more to the acting out than meets the eye, and the brat could use a daddy with a firm hand.

I’m the daddy for the job.

Meet Mischief, a kink friendly community full of daddies, boys, puppies, jocks and more! Get your first taste of the lifestyle when Carson and Hunters reconnect in this steamy m/m romance featuring Daddy/brat age play, an age gap, and a healthy dose of enemies to lovers in the mix.

⭐️ 3 stars ⭐️

The rating is entirely for the smut, because without it Misbehaved didn’t have much substance to it.

The plot is shaky at best. Spoilers ahead!

As I said, shaky and thin plot.

The smut and the caretaking moments were pretty great though.
The kinks were ticking most of my boxes and the dirty talk was blush-worthy.

“But… I don’t know… my sweet boy’s little hole might be too tight… Daddy might not fit…”

“Daddy knows just what his boy needs.”

I don’t know, something about Daddies talking in third person… 🫠🔥

Out of the spice scenes, the characters lacked personality. Carson was extremely dull, pretentious and a little insufferable. Hunter was okay, but not very deep.
The ending was very anti-climactic and not satisfying in the least.

I can definitely see Simon Strange’s hand in some places, and they were the parts I enjoyed more.
I wasn’t familiar with Ali Lyda’s work before this, and I don’t know how I feel about their writing style, not knowing how much they actually put into this work. From what I’ve seen, I don’t think I’m overly impressed.
Overall, I enjoyed this more as an erotica piece rather than a romance.

Tropes and NSFW info (spoilers):
- Professor vs former student
- Age gap
- Daddy kink
- Age play (no ABDL)
- Impact play, pain kink, light CBT, spanking
- Light humiliation kink
- Brief somnophilia

I hate that the standard for age play books is so fucking low like come on guys we really can’t come up with anything good??? Like at all?? This book lost major aura points for using the word piss-slit one too many times, deciding that the statement ‘little boys like him don’t have body hair’ was a good idea, and for suggesting that it’s a good idea to resist using your safe word even if you want to because you think it will make your Dom proud of you as well as the Dom wanting to refuse the use of a safe word in an impromptu public scene because he doesn’t want the sub to be able to back out of the punishment he agreed to. The story was fine if not your basic ‘immediately calling him daddy and moving in and falling in love within a week’ drivel that had no substance to the bones and I am once again nibbling on scraps and continuing my search for something that is idk perhaps good?

3.5 stars rounded down

The bones of the story are all things I like: age gap, Daddy kink, age play, bratty boy, hurt/comfort, enemies to lovers, professor/student, and spanking.

But, it didn't all gel and some of it was too rushed. I didn't like the background info on why they were "enemies" and how it was resolved. They weren't really enemies anyway. Even the awful, bigoted family (and the resolution) wasn't fleshed out enough for me.

I did enjoy the down time, playing video games, eating chicken nuggets, and caretaking elements.

I’ll admit I had to think on this one awhile, but I’m going with four stars.

Co-written by Ali Lyda and Simon Strange, Misbehaved is an enemies to lovers, age gap romance of a kinky teacher and his floundering pupil. As a huge fan of Simon Strange I thought I knew what to expect, so this one threw me a bit. I’m not familiar with the writing of Ali Lyda.

One of the first things to hit me was how irritated I was by Carson and the undergraduate school where Hunter attends. How can a student possibly fail a course twice and nobody on staff is looking out for him? That’s awful. On top of that, the whole process Carson has to go through with his tenure had me steaming mad.

Honestly, I clung to my initial impression of Carson as a self-absorbed, egocentric ass. (No offense to academicians, but this is a stereotype which frequently fits.) And the way he jumps at the chance to fill his empty love life with a cutie like Hunter, well I’m just saying, it serves his needs.

But he’s super hot, and the taboo aspect of being spanked by his teacher is enough to explain why Hunter would want to hit that.

Hunter I liked very much. I felt his character was well developed and interesting. This boy has been wronged repeatedly. Yet has the gumption to get himself a scholarship, come out to his Pentecostal parents, and sass them right to their faces. Just searching for acceptance and the kind of kink which really gets him off, Hunter’s attraction to Carson works for me.

Any book which makes me think this hard deserves four stars, and I’m the first to defend characters I don’t like. We don’t have to approve of their actions, we don’t have to be friends with them, and we definitely don’t have to like them for them to still be well done characters. I’m going to put Carson into that category.

an audiobook copy of Misbehaved was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review

This might have been a four star story except for one major flaw. I don't have anything against sex without condoms as long as there is a discussion about it before hand, or it is in something like the shifter universe where STDs aren't really a thing. But in this book, they just had sex sans condoms or a safe sex discussion and that just made me uncomfortable. I get authors feeling like that could be an unsexy discussion, but I don't know, I just feel like it there is nothing un-sexy about caring enough about your partner to discuss those kind of important things.
So, even though I enjoyed the story otherwise, I don't know if I will be continuing the series. Which is kind of a shame because I did actually like the story, hence the 3 stars instead of less.

Poor Hunter. He really just needed someone to help him and love him. Yeah, he was stupid and made a stupid mistake, but at least he managed to pull himself out of it. Carson was pretty much perfect for him though, and there really is some kind of beautiful symmetry to the two of them ending up together.

A very good story of a man that loses a lot because of a student following him to a kink club and recording him there after failing him on his tests.

It took him a while to go back after losing his boy and he finds his college student there.

I could feel the meaningful relationship as it started building into something and the actual writing was very well done.

Hunter and Dr. Carson Pryde didn’t start out on good terms be begin a relationship. Hunter was failing Dr. Pryde’s class and to get back at the Professor he follows him and Dr. Pryde’s boyfriend to a BDSM club and took pictures. His mistake was to post the pictures!

This could have ruined Carson’s career and embarrass the Professor in front of his colleagues. Carson didn’t lose his job, but he did lose his boyfriend over it. Hunter’s discipline was being kicked out of the college and was barred from going to any other college either, plus he lost his scholarship.

Hunter, twenty-two, now has no job, no classes, and no real life. He hates living with his overly religious father. That’s what was causing Hunter to get poor grades. Hunter came out to his parents about being gay, he had been hounded by his father and his religious talk since.

When Hunter’s friend, Will, invites him for a weekend at an, Invite Only, an event called “Mischief” where all sorts of lifestyles gather and can be themselves. Hunter knew nothing about the “alternative” lifestyle but went with his friend anyway. It is at this event that Carson sees Hunter and makes a scene about throwing Hunter out of the event for what he did to him and that he couldn’t be trusted. It meant that his friend would be kicked out too.

Hunter felt awful for what he did to Carson but worse if his friend was kicked out when he didn’t do anything. So between the Host, Carson, and Hunter, an agreement was made. Carson would give
Hunter a spanking, 10 in all, to embarrass him in front of everyone. These are hard spankings and hurt and Carson didn’t give a damn what Hunter went through. Except he didn’t count on Hunter’s reactions to the pain when Hunter orgasm in his pants.

Afterward, Hunter was embarrassed and stayed in the hotel room for the rest of the weekend. Plus
Hunter was confused as to why he liked the pain and frisson so much that he came and worse of all with Carson. But not only Hunter was confused, but Carson was also as to because it’s rare for a man to come during the spanking, making Hunter a special “boy”. And so the book goes on bringing these two special men together as “Daddy” and “his boy”; and by the end of the book, I felt the emotions and connection between Hunter and Carson.

I don’t read many books containing BDSM, so for me, it took some time to understand the “daddy” and “boy” relationship. It was a good book and the writing was well done. Review for Booksprout.

I really liked listening to this story. I loved the ebook version and I was so happy that it came out in audio too!
The voices were really great, both Carson and Hunter's were really perfect for their characters. Hunter was so sweet and the narrator did an amazing job bringig him alive - all those sweet voices, just swoon!!

The story is well written, I love daddy kink and teacher/student, the two most perfect thing, and it's really good in this book too, both author did a good job with this story.

I can't wait the next book!

Hmm, I liked this story but there was just something about their situation that didn’t rub me right. I felt offended at how Carson was treated after the scandal that Hunter caused but I have trouble with how Hunter still felt justified after all this time. I understood they clicked and you could see Hunter realize how wrong his actions were after a while but I have trouble with the “I just feel such a pull to him” concept that was very strong in this story.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

I skimmed the ratings and am a bit surprised I didn’t see this perspective so here it goes. The description for this book says “get your first taste of the lifestyle” but let me tell you, this is not the lifestyle. If it’s what you encounter IRL, run, and tell all your friends to run too. In the first scene between the MCs, we get a dom who punishes this boy with only the shakiest consent and no discussion of limits. No mention of safewords except by the friend who is running this event yet allows this to happen, even after he has to physically restrain the dom to avoid an altercation. Right before this boy gets spanked, he feels so threatened by the dom that he won’t take his eyes off him in case the dom decides to punch him. Someone who lets their emotions dictate punishment and who uses BDSM as a way to “deal” with conflict isn’t a dom, they’re an abuser.

Carson Pryde is a college professor who is devoted to his teachings. Recently a disgruntled student, Hunter, followed him to a BDSM club and filmed him and his ex-Bryson engaging in age play; thereby uploading the content online. Carson was embarassed and looked down upon by his fellow collegues. It created this mindset that Carson couldn't have both his career and his boy, one of them had to give. Now a year later and a year out of the scene, Carson's friend Hank invites him to his club Mischief. The club itself is 6 hours away from the college campus and in an entirely different state. Carson figures it wouldn't hurt to look and no one from school would be there.

Hunter is a 21-yr-old and he was recently kicked out of college and blackballed from other universities due to the video he filmed and posted of his college professor. Now stuck at home with his very religious father and being gay is not a good mix for him. His friend Will invites him to attend the club Mischief and he decides to give it a try - he just doesn't anticipate that Carson would be there or that he would be so intrigued by the scene before him - Daddies and their littles. Maybe Carson is onto something with this kink - maybe Hunter might be more interested in pursuing a Daddy/boy relationship then he would have believed.

Another interesting and compelling novel by Ali Lyda and Simon Strange. I have not read works by Strange before, but I knew Lyda would not disappoint. (But this also indicates to me I definitely need to check out some of Strange's works in the future!). I liked the whole enemies-to-lovers concept between Hunter and Carson. I really enjoyed how even though this was a book with light elements of Daddy/boy BDSM we weren't completely thrown into it. Instead it was like the reader got to take the journey and explore as Hunter explored the community. I think this was crafted really well - so many books I've read in this genre go right into "scene" rather then the most important part of this kind of relationship - the communication! Communication was a huge role in this story and it was executed in a way that wasn't boring or lacking in the romance or sexual kink department - but just for the informative role of making sure the reader and Hunter knew what he was getting into. There was no shame in Hunter being a novice, and even though Hunter and Carson had their rift in the past Carson is sure to clear the air when they are in scene. I think it was abundantly clear - even while Carson was hesitant to do anything with Hunter - when he told him that no matter what you always have a safe word, and for anyone that tells you otherwise that isn't right. It just shows how experienced Carson is in this community and that he does look out for Hunter and all his past littles.

The only thing I would have liked to see in the book was I wished it had been longer. There was some unanswered questions - while not really important - I wanted to have some answers. Despite these feelings, I would recommend reading this book if you enjoy Daddy/Boy relationships. This novel captured the romance and love that people in these relationships have while not foregoing the importance of consent and communication. This was a good read!

Great Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!

Misbehaved
Mischief, Book 1
By: Ali Lyda, Simon Strange
Narrated by: Richard Reynolds

I thoroughly enjoyed this great book, it is well written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. It is my first book written by Ali Lyda and Simon Strange and I am looking forward to checking out more of their work. I enjoyed their writing style and the story and characters they created who were likable and easy to connect with. I am loving the concept of Mischief and would have loved to have spent more time there, see more scenes and/or play so glad there is a book 2. This book is Hunter Lowry and Carson Pryde’s story, Carson is a college professor who is looking to gain tenure and solidify his career even more.He has had one scandalous incident in his career which is just about behind him yet the facility still loaded his offer with conditions. That incident caused him enough loss in his life, he is ready to move on with his career even if it means giving up his lifestyle. He did not plan on going to Mischief but found himself drawn there. The one person he did not expect to see there was the one who nearly cost him his career and more, Hunter Lowry, a former student. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is wonderfully plotted and there is never a dull moment. This is a great enemies to lovers MM romance, there is an age gap with some age play, kink and BDSM and a whole lot of heart. Hunter really grew on me as a person, he was dealt a crappy hand when it came to parents, it was heartbreaking to see how they treated him. I was happy he found a Daddy to love him for who he was. Thank you Ali Lyda, Simon Strange for this great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, The authors cast the perfect narrator to bring their characters and story to life. Richard Reynolds is a talented and versatile voice artist. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. He made the characters his own, performing the role with perfection, sounding just as I picture them to sound. His Carson, a scholar with the right amount of domination and his Hunter, young and naive in many ways, he made him sound like a great little. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

**Audio Review**

I love teacher/student romances, and I'll never say no to a good Daddy/boy dynamic, but when I found out that Hunter wasn't just a student but the person who massively invaded Carson's privacy, my first thought was "no way". For the first few chapters, I could not wrap my head around the idea that Carson and Hunter would somehow end up being compatible with one another given their history. Even after that surprisingly charged spanking and subsequent exploration of Hunter's newfound preferences, there was a part of me that could never get over their rocky beginning. As an intensely private person myself, I have a very hard time seeing Hunter's actions as forgivable, regardless of whatever was going on in his personal life. For that reason, I had to block out the memory of what he did to get to a point where I could enjoy the growing relationship.

Once I got into the meat of this story, I did enjoy the steamy scenes and D/s dynamic that Carson and Hunter engaged in. Carson is the kind of Daddy who doesn't take himself too seriously but who isn't afraid to lay down the law when he needs to. Hunter, on the other hand, started out a bit too greedy for my liking but mellowed into a nice blend of bratty and sweetly submissive. I'll admit that his naivete was a little over the top sometimes, and I did find those moments annoying. For example, when Hunter is so utterly clueless about finding a job I'm sure I was supposed to find it cute but to me it only highlighted his character flaws.

Aside from Carson's stress over tenure and Hunter's situation with his family, there's not a lot going on in this book outside of the romance. In some ways, I really liked that I could focus so deeply on the uniquely wonderful bond these two were building, but I was also disappointed by how unfinished the other plotlines were. I suppose Hunter did get some amount of closure with his family, but I would have loved to see what happened with Carson's job and how he and Hunter navigated day-to-day life together. Overall, I can't say this is my favorite Daddy/boy romance of all time, but it's not bad either. I thought the narrator did a great job bringing Carson and Hunter to life and sold me on their romance way more than if I'd tried to read the Kindle version.

Misbehaved is an entertaining Daddy kink romance by Ali Lyda and Simon Stranger. The first book in the Mischief series, it looks to be a great series.

This is the story of Carson, a professor, and Hunter, a student who has shamed him in the past. The background for the two is interesting, and the resolution is beautiful.

Carson and Hunter are reunited at a sex club and things are awkward, yet hot, as they deal with their situation. Hunter and Carson are interesting on their own, people who certainly shouldn't be together, yet somehow they work.

I have to admit that the beginning is a little confusing at first. I actually thought I had missed a previous book. But it doesn't take long for the reader to get caught up to the situation.

Hunter has a family situation that is heartbreaking. Dealing with his homophobic, religious father has caused him a lot of pain. His character growth throughout is wonderful, as he deals with his self worth and pride.

This is a story of finding someone who makes you feel like you are worthy. It is magnificent in the way Carson brings life to Hunter. Their past is messy, and the strength of their new relationship is truly inspirational in the way Carson forgives Hunter. Seriously, Carson's ability to look beyond what Hunter did is amazing.

Carson is a man torn between what he wants and what he desires. I enjoy the way his struggle is developed, as being with Hunter is a threat to his career.

Written in alternating 1st person pov, the emotions and motivations of both men are front and center. The author adds plenty of humor in addition to the kink.

Speaking of kink, this is a story with cock cages, orgasm denial, and some serious heat. The Daddy/boy dynamics are well done.

Misbehaved is 229 pages of sexy fun with an emotional relationship throughout. Ali Lyda and Simon Strange collaboration is fantastic story of self acceptance.

I'm torn how to rate this

I liked hunter and his bratty bravery and love starved behavior a joy to read

I liked the redemption arc for hunter

also the growth Carson had to do to be able to forgive hunter trust and learn to be happy and proud of who he is was good too.
also they had real conversations about their feelings and about their past and their anger towards eachother and subsequently their first clash and not having any revenge that was special.

their chemistry was hot and everyting after the 1st mischief meeting was super charged and sexy

but my one and only gripe with this book was a big one.. wich made me not give it 4 stars
was that their communication although it was there open and honest was super condensed + not enough..way too limited
esp for the lifestyle + dipping your toes in with your enemy how crazy the chemistry is needs boundaries instructions a lot of information to study & figure out.

and as a experience daddy that was his job to instigate & instruct

+ the no condom part esp when its temporary without a conversation and or tests results should be a hard limit for any scene!

thats and also the " I love you" after their first conversation about bieng serious I could expect from hunter but Carson kust no.

after 3 weeks and all his hang ups should imho be a
1 a like you or
2 i care for your and mabye am falling in love with you

not an i love you forever kind of thing.

omg I've forgotten the part to photograph his cock cage on job hunts is from another older book and I have no idea wich one ! and it had no follow up.. and that irked me
a lot both the suspected plagiarism and then. it doing anyone with it cus hunter didn't think about it it wasn't mentioned and Carson didn't ask about it.. so grrr

and even with all that I disliked, I liked the book enough to give it 3 stars
it could have bin so so much better though 🤷‍♀️

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the Mischief series. This book is about age play and the relationship between a Daddy and his boy. Carson is a professor at a small college and was up for tenure. Carson was trying to move on after he was exposed on the internet for his private kink by a former student. Carson was able to explain it away as research, but he is still nervous to visit any clubs. Hunter was the student that exposed Carson and he was kicked out of school and unable to get into another school. Hunter is now living with his religious parents and wasting his time, he is not working or trying to find work. Hunter feels like he was the victim and when his best friend asks him to go to Mischief, a kink club, with him, Hunter agrees to get away from his parents. Carson was invited to Mischief by his best friend Hank, who owned the club. When Carson saw Hunter at the club, he thought Hunter was trying to cause more trouble, but Hunter told him it was just bad luck they were both there. Carson wants to punish Hunter for what he did, and Hunter agreed. When Carson spanked Hunter, he triggered something in him and Hunter was unsure how to handle it. Hunter wanted to see Carson again and ask for help in clearing his name so he could go back to school. Carson knows he shouldn't help Hunter, but he is drawn to him. Hunter also wants Carson and when Carson sees Hunter submit to him, he knows he can't turn Hunter away. I liked this book. I am not a huge fan of age play, but i enjoyed the story of how Carson forgave Hunter and how they fell in love. I think Hunter needed someone to love and care for him, he was immature and not sure what to do with himself. Carson gave Hunter rules and a purpose. Good one, i look forward to the next book.

MISBEHAVED Simon Strange
Such a good book!
I absolutely love books by Simon Strange, and this was no exception.
A wonderfully unique take on daddy kink with the added element of age play... Also one of my favourite tropes.
I loved this age gap, enemies to lovers story.
A beautifully paced and well plotted story of how one little youthful and impulsive decision can wreck lives.
This is a lovely story of forgiveness and redemption.
I found the character development to be really good. The back stories fit extremely well in the development of the plot.
I also thought the BDSM aspects here to be educational, well researched and expertly delivered.
I, not being a huge fan of BDSM myself, however, felt that the "scene" played out in chapter 18 was over long, somewhat cringe-worthy rather than erotic, and did very little to enhance the story.

°°°this could be spoilerish:

I also don't feel that the title of this book is entirely appropriate because
the character this is meant to describe (Hunter), in my opinion, was never really misbehaved at all. He was a victim of circumstances and simply not mature enough to foresee the consequences of his actions.
For the most part he was actually quite sweet and timid.
Nonetheless, in spite of my own take on this story, I couldn't possibly award less than a shining 5 stars for this book. This is well executed, well written and HOT!
Very good work indeed!
*age play (no ABDL)
*age gap
*student/teacher
*BDSM elements
*enemies to lovers
*slight elements of homophobia & religion (no violence) but significant to to story.

° Standalone/HEA
° Heat level 5 🔥 for content & frequency (definitely 18+)
° First person dual POV (past tense)

WELL THIS BOOK OPENED MY EYES!!!!!
WELL WHAT CAN I SAY...…
I enjoyed this book, it really opened my eyes to a new kink that I haven't really read about before.
Professor Carson is just about getting his life back in order after a student tried to ruin his life all because the kid was failing his class because he couldn't stay awake through his lessons. Hunter had followed him to a kink party and taken a video showing him in an act with two other men. Thankfully the university believed him and he didnt lose his job. What he did lose was a relationship he had been in for 5 years. He was a Daddy, and because of what happened he was scared they would find out so he told his partner he was going vanilla and he didnt like it and left, just like that!!!
His best friend finally got him thinking of going back to a party just to see if he still needed the scene and who is there??? None other than the boy that had tried to destroy him!!! They start to argue but somehow end up with Carson Spanking Hunter for what he had done.
Both men cant get each other off there minds but it takes Hunter to track down Carson for things to really start happening.
This is one hot read. The sexual tension between them is electric. But its also a story of forgiveness and trust. The relationship they start is one of acceptance of each other for who they are. Hunter is going through hell. His family cant except he is gay and because of his stint he is finding it impossible to get into another college. He lost everything but maybe just maybe these two could be just what each other need.
A great read!!

Can you imagine using a revenge video to get back at your teacher because he failed you in a class?
No, can you also picture the two of you as a match at sex club? Let the fun begin...

Hunter is student who was expelled from school for the act of posting a video of his professor on a pron site out of nothing more than petty revenge. Not only was he effectively banned from that college, he was blacklisted from every college he applied for due to his disciplinary record. Suddenly, one bad grade did not seem so bad given his present dilemma. Coming from a family who wishes him to be straight, a family dinner was more than cringe worthy. Rolly, his friend, reluctantly reveals he's going to a sex party out of town and invites him. Hunter happily agrees. Who could he possibly run into that may know him? Famous last words.

Carson is a professor (former daddy). On his way to achieving the coveted tenure. His career is hanging by a thread after what happened and can't do anything that will prevent it from taking place. Paranoia takes shape and the mere mention or an inkling of illicit behavior can't be mentioned in public. Doesn't seem to stop his wandering eye in public. His friend, Hank, invites him out of town to a BDSM party. Given his poor choice in boys as of late, Carson agrees and its game on.

Finding a way to intertwine these two characters given their past was quite a feat. The authors did a fabulous job. Great start to what I hope to see as a multi book Mischief series.

Misbehaved is a really hot daddy kink story but I'm not sure if it was a good fit for me. I thoroughly enjoyed Richard Reynolds performance; he did a great job. The writing was fine but I think the kink factor was maybe a touch more than I'm comfortable with.

I have to say that I haven't read a lot of daddy books but this one was different, from others I've read, in that the daddy liked to spank his boy to the point of serious pain and tears; he enjoyed hurting his boy and that pushed my comfort just a bit. Now, I also have to say that this was all completely consensual and in fact, the boy begged for it and he was fine with the pain. So, the issue was mine and not anything to do with the writing.

I must admit that I continued to listen, even when it was apparent there would be more pain play than I felt completely comfortable with. So other than the spanking scenes, I really did enjoy the story. There's also a student/teacher aspect and an enemies-to-lovers vibe to the book.

Misbehaved was my first book by Ali Lyda and the first book in the Mischief series – a series of stories about a moving kink club that changes locations every month. While this particular story was a little outside of my comfort zone, I liked it enough that I'd be willing to see what the next one is about.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Misbehaved is an adorable second-chance romance that is the first book in a kink-centric series. This book featured a hot Daddy Dom and a lost boy who just needs a little help (a lot of care) finding his way through life.

I am a big fan of BDSM and kink, and really liked how Ali Lyda and Simon Strange collaborated on this book. I though the BDSM and kink play was well done and range from being sweet and tender to hot and steamy. I liked the characters, even though there were a few times that I wanted to shake Hunter, but the authors did a great job of really humanizing and redeeming Hunter. The writing style was pleasant to read and flowed well. I could really tell that both authors are talented writers due to the way they were able to take scenes and tropes that could have come off as cheesy and cliché but instead they made these scenes really adorable and fun. I wished the second book was out because I was ready to start reading it as soon as I was finished with this one.

The audiobook was narrated by Richard Reynolds who is a new narrator to me. Richard has a nice voice and had a nice style of narration. I liked his character voices and was able to easily follow along in the story. The characters were distinct from each other and he really put some great emotion and energy into his performance without overdoing it. The audiobook production was well done and it made for an overall great listening experience.

Interesting twist (an audio review)

I enjoy Daddy/boy books. I like the age play element. Although it’s not for me, I can relate to the desire to give up being an adult sometimes and sink into the world where someone else is in charge. Someone else tackles all the troubles. Someone else does the heavy lifting. So this book should have been right up my alley. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t a fave.

Carson is a professor who was outed by a student has being part of the BDSM lifestyle. When he comes across Hunter, that student, at a BDSM party, he kind of loses it. Not that I blame him. But the scene that followed wasn’t fun.

Hunter is having a rough go of it. His parents want him straight and religious. He is neither. He’s also not a very responsible young man. No job. No school (thanks to his previous antics). No sense of purpose. Carson sees that void and when Hunter asks for a relationship – or at least scenes – Carson decides to risk everything.

This book had everything I loved about Daddy/boy books but I never fully immersed into the story. But that’s not to say others won’t enjoy it. The writing was good, and there were a few twists. Will I read subsequent books? Yes. Mainly because I want to find out what happens to Hunter’s friend.

Richard Reynolds was a good narrator. He never pulled me from the story and I liked that Carson and Hunter had very different voices. Overall, a good audio and worth a listen.

Carson was talking with his friend, Hank, vice president of a solar power manufacturer. Hank reminded him that he forgot all about their dinner, which was a sign of Carson’s unhappiness in not finding what he needed. It made him disorganized, unsettled, unfocused, often irrational, and depressed. But Carson was up for tenure and trying to stay out of trouble, especially after a video got out last year. Now was not the time to look for something beyond a plain vanilla relationship. But Hank invites him to Mischief, a club that moves around and is 6 hours away, so should be safe. But it isn’t, as he runs into the very student that had shamed him by posting that video that almost destroyed his career! Would Hunter try to damage his reputation once more? Or does he have something else on his mind?

These authors are really awesome writers and their stories usually will pull the reader right in for an emotional, meaningful story. Unfortunately, this one touches on kink which I cannot tolerate. It just creeps me out. So I will reiterate that the authors are awesome, but I didn’t finish this one because of the subject matter. If that is something that appeals to you, you may very well enjoy this.

Hot Enemies to Lovers/Age Play

Ok...I told myself that I was done with reading age play stories due to the last couple of books that were not that good. I was thoroughly entertained after reading this story. I love the authors books so I should have known this was going to be good also. This type of kink personally I wouldn't be interested in but I don't knock people who are into it. This professor really is a good man if he was willing to forgive his former student for messing up his personal and professional life. The former student do what most young people do...act out without thought of the consequences. Reading more in Hunter's life/background gave you the reason why he did what he did and it was so sad...he really needed somebody in his corner and Carson was the :daddy" he needed. Both healed each other and It was nice seeing them develop a trusting and loving relationship with one another. The ending was sad but hopeful and I would really like to see a sequel or at least a book that has these wonderful characters and maybe a romance with Will (Hunter's friend) or even Hank(Carson's friend)...NICE!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was quite beautiful! I was not expecting that, so it was a sweet surprise. Carson used to be a Daddy and he loved it....but a former student destroyed it all with one viral video. Hunter was failed....twice....by his college professor and decided to get back at him by releasing a video that he took at a kink club. The fallout was severe censure to Carson and college blacklisting for Hunter. Both men have been hurt deeply because of what happened and are just trying to get on with their lives....until Mischief happens. Mischief is a pop-up type of kink club that changes locations every month. Carson was invited, even tho he stopped being active after the video incident, but decides to go since it will be held 6 hours from his home location. He shouldn't see anyone that he knows that far away, right?? Wrong! Carson sees the last person he wants to see....Hunter! When Hunter sees Carson, he knows he's in for it and tries to leave. What happens next is the beginning of a journey that will change both Hunter and Carson forever. This book had intense emotion, wicked good sensual situations, and a lot of attention to detail. I really enjoyed this book.

Wow, Ali has really started this series of with a wonderful bang! I really enjoyed the kink of Daddy and son. I love daddy books normally anyway , but this m/m was just really great, it rocked by boat! When i started reading this i thought omg ...yes..... then i started reading about Carson , and i really felt for him that he had to go though what he did. But when it came to Hunter, honestly my heart went out to this young man....(even though it was a story). Coming out is nerve racking at the best for young men at times , but when parents are like they are well you can understand some of the pent up frustration Hunter had.
After what happened at the Club, well that was behind them both, but they cant help but keep on thinking about it. And it takes one brave young man to ask for more to ask for Carson to be his daddy!

This story for me is definately 5 plus stars, and heres hoping theres more like this coming

This is a steamy and interesting story. Hunter recorded Carson at a sex club and he released it for the university that Carson taught, and Hunter was taking classes at, and the general public to see. It was revenge for Carson failing his class twice. Carson never knew what really motivated Hunter to do it until a year later, when they found themselves in another club together. After arguing about the past, Carson tells Hunter that if he lets Carson spank him, all will be mostly forgiven. Hunter agrees, and he and the next day Hunter apologizes for the recording and he asks for help to get the offense off his record, because no school would accept him. They end up starting a relationship because there are sparks between them that can't be ignored. Neither knows the full, sad story about what happened, and when they do learn about it, it changes everything.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
