This is a standalone blind date gone wrong.
Ariya's friends drag her up to a cabin for a couple of days, but forget to mention that they also brought their boyfriends and that the boyfriends are bringing a friend to set her up. She is not happy with them and I don't blame her at all, although she does seem to forgive them far too easily. Who wants to be stuck on a blind date you didn't want for several days?
When Xander turns up she gets some mixed signals from him, which is explained later, but I found it strange that nobody else mentioned to Ariya who her blind date was.
I struggled to like the characters in this book. I didn't like the friends because of the way they lied to Ariya. Xander and Ariya were giving out some mixed signals, which made it hard to see any connection between them, but then all of a sudden they have this huge connection which makes Ariya make quite a dangerous decision.
I did enjoy the ending, but the journey there, not so much.
