A monster has always stalked me from the shadows. Now he’s come to collect.
My name is Angel.
I’ve been hunting demons my whole life, sending them back to the festering pit they crawled from. To most hunters it’s just a job. To me it’s everything . I come alive with a blade in my hand, only feeling at peace when all else is chaos.
My problem?
The King of Hell thinks he owns me.
He drags me to his castle in Hell, and I’m lost . My own inner demons thrive in this place of sin and pain. My dark heart and traitorous body begin to agree that I’m his prized possession, but I know better than to listen to that pair.
Game on, Lucifer. I’m going to destroy you.
Fans of Supernatural will love this extra dark and spicy enemies-to-lovers, demon hunter romance.
Authors This is a villain romance. Lucifer is the King of Hell ! Don't be fooled by the pretty face; he's a monster wrapped up in a delicious package. He doesn’t always play nice. At times, you’ll likely hate him for the things he does. So, if you’re game, buckle up for a quick, thrilling ride.

Second Edition (same wickedly delicious story, slightly lengthened)
Deliciously dark... because romance isn't always sweet.
Nicola Rose is from the UK, where she lives with her husband and two boys. When she's not writing or reading, she can probably be found on family days out hiking and mountain-biking in the countryside, messing in Photoshop, and playing board games in her pjs!
"I believe in the power of positivity. I have no desire to spread anything negative. I'm a reader, but primarily I'm an author NOT a reviewer. For these reasons, if I don't enjoy a book I simply move on quietly. I will only rate and review the books I have genuinely enjoyed." - Nicola x
I finished this book (well at 176 pages compared to the ones I've been reading lately it was pretty short) and when I came to review it, I read other reviews.
It felt like I read a completely different book. I'm confused!!!
Sure it was a cute story about an expert demon hunter being hunted by the devil and eventually admitting love.
I didn't find the "hot scenes" very hot... Just as you thought they were about to get hot it kinda went "and so he did all night on every counter". Basically leaving out the good stuff!! Of course, being the devil, whips and chains were seen so you thought some sort of BDSM would come into play, but once again it was a case of "he'd get the whip and proceeded to teach me a lesson". It just missed out again! The only chains we really knew the use of was the ones that he hung her by when she pissed him off.
The scenes where the devil tried to convince Angel to submit to him pushed her only further away, but yet she would still sleep with him. Just would refuse to say "I yield to you".
And the reason her soul belonged to him? Eep. That me snort.
It does seem as though a sequel may come, as in the battle scenes against Lilith, Angels only friend, Brooke got caught in the crossfire in Hell, despite Angel telling her again and again to ho back, and was killed. She was having an affair with the angel Remiel. After discovering this, he goes ballistic, bowing revenge on the Devil and on Angel.
I doubt I'll be picking it up.
But did I miss something?? Why did everyone else love it and I came away empty?? I don't get it? 😔 Just a puzzle I guess!!

And Nicola Rose does it again! What a sultry, steamy, angsty love story she has here! This author is quickly becoming my go-to whenever I need a break to indulge in a bit of 'guilty pleasure' read. This is like dark chocolate for me, Ms Rose's writing is as lush and involving as a thick, oozy coating of chocolate ganache, and as sweet as well, with the hint of bitterness that tells you it's a damn good chocolate you're having. This is quality writing, unputdownable as it was, I couldn't force myself away from this book. The narrative just flows and keeps you there, locked inside the pages, lost in that world, aching with Angel and Lucifer - well, aching for Lucifer, actually but hey, I didn't say that!! - needing to know where the plot is going. You'll get your heart crushed at some point and if you're anything like me, you will loathe Ms Rose with a vengeance and want to throw the book at her head. But then you'll come to terms with what you read, and you'll realise it was the only possible way to go. And then she sweeps the rug from under your feet once more, when you'd just made your peace, and you're left swaying again, but oh-so-relieved and happy that you read this book. I mean, I'm always happy when I read one of Ms. Rose's book, so I'll be eagerly awaiting the next lush, sensual, steamy story!
Angel vs Lucifer in this book is not really the war it sounds like. It more like a game of wills and one-man upmanship. Angel (FMC) is a demon hunter and very much a loner. Until on her birthday she bags a demon she has been hunting for a long time only to come face to face with the King of Hell Lucifer. Only to find out he owns her and as you can tell shes not happy about it. Especially when Lucifer tries every trick in the book to break Angel down. Harder than he thinks. Wow these two are great characters. They are witty, funny and their banter together makes a great read. A kinky Devil.............phew is smoking hot in this book thats for sure
This book was so much fun! Angel is a badass demon Hunter, she's quirky and sarcastic and loves the thrill of the hunt. Darkness lingers in her, she loves the death and torture she hands out
Lucifer loves Angel's dark side, and unknowingly she thrives off of his darkness
The King of Hell and a demon Hunter are an unlikely pair but they work SO WELL 😍
This book was short and punchy but had many twists and turns along to way to keep you gripped, I just love Nicola's style of writing and her story lines always keep me on the edge of my seat! 🖤
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was a great with the having characters that are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry. The flow of the storyline was steady and smooth.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Got this on a free Stuff Your Kindle day. This was well written and free of typos. The story was very interesting and appealing. Lucifer is a bit of a marshmallow. Angel’s character is boring and annoying. Basically, the only hobby or interest or personality trait she has is that she loves killing and torturing. She gets a pass because they are demons, but it doesn’t diminish the fact that she is a sociopath who never even cares about the fact that her mom died when she was young. Angel isn’t loyal to anyone in this book and in my opinion doesn’t really deserve her happy ending or the mercy she is given time and time again. The steamy scenes are good but felt like something was still missing. Also, this chic was way too lucky the whole story and had many times that she should have been tortured or killed being outnumbered and overpowered against the opponents. Lilith makes an appearance but the storyline with her is unresolved.
There are a few side characters, Brooke, Jenna, and Remiel who are introduced but feel like plot tools and don’t really have satisfying resolutions.
This is by far the best instant one-click purchase I’ve made in a very long time! This is a true villain read and Lucifer is NOT the good guy but that’s what makes this so much fun. Nicola captures the perfect essence of the Devil in love. As the saying goes, “A hero will sacrifice you for the world. A villain will burn the world down for you.” If Lucifer is that villain oh the wicked fun that will be had!
A quick, dark, and delicious read. Loved the FMC's feisty stubbornness
When Lucifer himself is your stalker
Frozen. Breathing heavy and fast. Connected and aching and desperate to take something from each other. Something the other doesn’t want to relinquish. “You can’t have me,” I whisper, lips brushing his and igniting every lustful nerve. “I’ve had you your whole life.”
This was a fun read, but definitely check triggers
I loved this book... started out a little slow for me and I was kind of put off by Angel for a long time in this book but I'm not really sure why... other then it was driving me batty how she was lying to herself...just was slow connecting with her I guess. But once I got sucked into the story... game over.. I couldn't stop reading till I got to the end and found out what happened. I loved Lulu (hahaha) he was truly dark and wicked and I loved every bit of it! Once Angel stopped lying to herself she turned out to be one badass hunter I loved it.
This was the first book I read by Nicola Rose and it most certainly will not be the last one that I read by her. I can't wait to dive into her other books and let her take me on a wild ride to hell!
God I love Nicola’s novels so much. If you love knife to the throat, enemies to lovers tales then pick this one up. It’s a quick read so perfect if you’re stuck in a reading slump, writing style is just *chefs kiss* as always. I could not put this down and I know I will be revisiting this book again and again. I adore Angel as a badass female lead character. My only issue…it was over too soon and I want more of their story!!
I almost DNF'd this book at 40% in. While the premise for this book was deliciously dark and interesting, I had trouble enjoying the book because frankly, the main character is awful - not in the "she's evil and dark" sort of way, but in the "she's overdramatic, boring, and immature" sort of way. Angel spent so much of the book swearing, making idle threats, and being stubborn because she hated authority to the point where it was just plain tiring. I didn't like her as a person or find her engaging enough as a character to at least find her interesting, she was just… bratty.
And the writing wasn't great either. It didn't feel gritty or real. Instead, the writing style felt like the author was trying hard to take a teen drama and turn it into something darker… but missed the mark. Lucifer's actions didn't make a lot of sense, and half the time it felt like he was bipolar and a little crazy. Both Angel and Lucifer felt all over the place, and it often killed any tension there was between them as a couple, and with the rest of the story.
And don't even get me started on the drawn-out ending that went on for chapters longer than it needed to.
Overall, the book was just okay. I got through it, I liked the plot, but it just wasn't written as well as I'd hoped. It was messy.
Angel and the devil, a real twisted love story .....
There were so many amazing things about this book. I honesty wasn’t sure if Nicola could reach Elwood status with this new book but I was pleasantly surprised.
Dare I say this but.... I really love Lucifer.
There was so much about him that pulled me in. In great PNR fashion, he held the ability to get away with things that regular bad boys can’t. The brutal way of his life was second nature to him but he was also a troubled monster -insert pulling of heart strings. So basically, he is the perfect bad boy. There, I said it. #ilovelucifer
Now on to Angel. Her name is so fitting. She may be one of the strongest heroines I’ve read this year. I have the huge pet peeve when authors bend the heroines personality near the end of the book. Angel stayed true to who she was. A bad bass that takes control in almost every situation. She doesn’t tolerate malarkey from anyone, not even the devil.
The romance between Lucifer and Angel was pure fire. From start to finish. Every time I see a shadow, I smirk thinking about how hot those two were. Goodness, no wonder we love bad boys! Ha
This was a great read and I can’t wait for more from this amazing author.
“And lies drip from his tongue like falling rain,”
This book was incredible. It all started with reading a 1 star review for this book that described it as the show Supernatural, with some kink. Best 1 star review ever, because I bought the book right away and devoured it within 10 hours.
Angel is a demon hunter, raised by her dad to exorcise the demons and put them right back to where they belong.: Hell.
But someone is in the shadows . . . watching . . . waiting. And he just might be the Devil himself.
Lucifer claims what he believes is his, and Angel is thrown into a dark, twisted world she can't escape from.
This book is packed with action, smoking hotness and amazing character building. Even as twisted as the Devil is, you feel this weird connection to him and the author, Nicola Rose, doesn't hold back on making you feel all the wrong fuzzies, in all the right places (yes, this book is not for the young readers) 18+
Her writing is flawless, so I will definitely be grabbing more of her books. Beautifully done.
Oh my goodness! I have to admit I have read this book more than once 😈 not gonna lie. Once you go Lucifer you keep coming back. Angel should count her lucky stars to be stalked and seduced by such a sexy (not a demon) of a specimen. Holy crap this book is hot!! Angel is the ultimate FMC. She is smart and witty and bada**!! She fights demons and casts spells summoning some of hells greatest demons. But I'm the shadows lurked a beast that rivals all others. The devil himself has decided he owns her but she won't go down without a fight. This book is so beautifully written. The plot, the sarcasm and witty comebacks are unbeatable. Lucifer is the thing of nightmares and fantasies all rolled into one jean wearing, shirtless, delicious package. No girl can fight his smirk and his charms. Not even Angel. His powers are insane. He is the long of hell and he has the powers to back it up. This is a must read book without a doubt. And not just once. Trust me. Lucifer calls for seconds. Possibly thirds.
Uh. Sorry. No. The one thing I absolutely do Not like is the MCs with other people. There was a bit when she first met Lucifer that one of his harem was on him and I didn’t like it but I pushed through because one, it’s the Devil, and two he hadn’t touched her yet.
But where I stopped he was coercing Her to touch one of his harem and don’t get me wrong, I’m ok with f/f happening, but this just didn’t feel fun to me. It made me super uncomfy and made me start really disliking Lucifer.
And honestly, I just knew that at that point I’d be rooting for her to kill him and leave, not a HEA with the two of them together. And that’s just not what I came for.
I don’t like that he has a harem.
I don’t like that he touches the harem.
I don’t like that the harem touches him.
And I don’t like him blackmailing her to touch one of his harem so he can watch.
It’s a hard pass for me.
Im sure a Ton of other people will find it super hot.
★ The monsters in the shadows and her dreams are real ★
—>>> How does the prickly and antisocial demon hunter Angel celebrate her birthday? She challenges herself by ridding the world of a particularly high-level, nasty demon, luring him into a trap in her carefully warded warehouse only to find herself ensnared by the King of Hell himself. Lucifer has patiently waited twenty-eight years for this day, and he is now ready to show her that the monsters in the shadows and her dreams are real...HE was real. And he has come to collect. Angel does everything in her power to resist him, but when all she thought she had worked towards her whole life becomes lies scattered in the wind, the fight in her heart may just give way to something else - if she could only admit it to herself. A great first read from this author which pulled me right in, and I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future!
This is a new author to me & I will admit that I really enjoyed reading this amazing supernatural romance. The plot is intriguing & filled with suspense, there is outstanding scene descriptions & world building. The characters are well-develop with realistic emotional flaws & portray believable reactions to the situations they find themselves in. There is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, deceit, betrayal, confusion, disbelief, defiance, determination, revenge, manipulations, explicit scenes, anguish, emotional turmoil, punishment & strangely enough there is compromises, love, contentment, acceptance, steamy scenes & a well-served satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future books from this talented author & would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
This was a fantastic read! The female lead is a powerful, confident, kick-ass demon slayer that nothing fazes except she is experiencing the same erotic dream, since the age of sixteen - can't see his face, but every time she wakes, she feels like she was there, sensually feeling every erotic BDSM moment. Lately, she feels like she is being stalked, some "one" lurking in the shadows watching her every move, making her feel like the prey instead of the hunter; unbeknownst to her, those shadows have been hiding the ultimate predator. This predator has been watching, hungering, wanting this woman for years, waiting patiently for her moment of weakness to pounce! I strongly encourage you to read this dark and delicious book! (I snagged this book from a different site before it was released on Amazon - confirmed purchase)
Angel is one of the top demon hunters around. When she has a blade in hand, she comes alive. Hunting demons is more than just a job for her, it's everything. Until the King of Hell himself turns up thinking he owns her and dragging her to hell.
Posseses by the Devil is an enemies to lovers romance filled with dark delicious angst. Nicola does it again with this one! I loved her Elwood Legacy trilogy and this one is just as dark and just as delicious.
Angel is strong and tough as nails. She hunts down any demon that crosses her path. But what is she to do when she's on Lucifer's radar? He thinks he owns her, and wants nothing more than for her to submit and obey. Will these two find what they desire, or will they end up killing each other first? Grab your copy of this angsty paranormal romance today to find out! 4.5 devilish ⭐'s out of 5⭐.
DNF at 70%. Boring and nothing but sex/BDSM, and not well done IMO. There was no plot! There was one moment when Lucifer broke from his “I’m king, you will kneel or I’ll whip you and fuck you then throw you back in a cell” persona, when he actually showed some feeling, but that only lasted 10 minutes, then back to weeks of crap. Oh, and after he brings her to hell, when he has the guards first bring her to his throne room, there’s mass orgies going on and he’s got a whore sucking him off. Ugh. He also forces her to parade around naked in front of guards and servants, and makes her have sex with another woman in front of an audience. I like dark books, and I love violence, but none of this was to my taste. Pass. I might have enjoyed it if there was more plot than just sex and pain and a few paragraphs of daddy issues.
Possessed by the Devil was simply amazing. I couldn't put it down. I've read so many paranormal romance books with Lucifer as a main character and this one easily takes first place in my opinion.
Angel is a strong willed, not to be messed with, woman who finds herself struggling with her feelings and loyalties once Lucifer comes into her life. Lucifer is sinfully HOT and tempting as hell. (pun intended)
I loved the interaction between Angel and Lucifer. The rage and lust and denial of their feelings made it such an entertaining story. The book's plot was well thought out and written and I'll definitely be looking for more books by this author.

If you love Supernatural read this. If you love steamy, star-crossed type love stories, read this. If you just like steamy, read this. Need a bad-ass heroine? Read this.
Nicola Rose brings such a great blend of so many of my favorite things together in this book. I was reminded of Jo from Supernatural and Elise from the Descent series. There was an alpha you love to hate to love that makes you question your own moral sensibilities when you're turned on by the connection. Especially when you ask for more, not caring that maybe the "best thing" for our heroine is to cut loose. You need to find out how this plays out. You want to read another great read by Nicola Rose.
This book really knows how to hold your attention! I was not sure what to expect when I started reading it, but it was quite interesting. I was not really into the whole 'pain is pleasure' thing that Lucifer had going on with Angel, but the story was good enough to make me want to finish the book. The twists the story took were great! And the characters were incredible! The story does have its HEA, but I would not mind reading more of Lucifer and Angel...maybe throw in some kids or something for them! Great story, fun read!

"No, Angel, tell me no! You're f#%king the Devil??" 😈
This is a first time read for me of Nicola Rose, and I don't expect it to be a last.
"Possessed by the Devil" is a bit like a "Supernatural" episode, only with limitless money for special effects (since it's courtesy of Industrial Light and Your Imagination) but with extra hot, hot sex.
It's dark, but funny, a bit madcap, really. The author has teased this might be part of an ongoing series with Lucifer and Angel in perhaps a noir-ish paranormal investigators storyline. I hope so, or something similar. This was a very fun read.
I'm not the biggest fan of paranormal/supernatural romance but Nicola pulled me under with Lucifer and Angel.
I love Lucifer, he definitely made his mark on me. The dark and powerful romance, iron strong characters and wicked twists had me craving just a smidgen more!
Potent storytelling that will have you drop everything but your reader. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. The short story of eroticism of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

Demon hunter Angel started having deliciously dark dreams of a beautiful man every night since she was 18 years old. And the man in the dream is none other than Lucifer, the King of Hell, who shows up one day and takes her to Hell. What does Lucifer want with Angel?
Possessed by the Devil is a dark, suspenseful and steamy story that will have you turning turning the pages non-stop
