Lorana brought all the heat, magic, thrill and excitement, seizing control and calling the shots, revving up the adrenaline and intensity, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Bearing the burden and carrying the load, delivering this action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, nail-biting, spine tingling, page flipping bombshell, blasting this baby to life beautifully. Witnessing the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, stumbling through the deadly twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they never saw coming. Chicanery runs rampant and violence is rife, broadcasting the drama, intrigue, turmoil, animosity, danger, mounting suspense and intense situations along with a boatload of bedlam while dodging chaos, you have one block busting experience. Wow I had no idea the book was going to be such an action packed thriller. It was really exciting and had me just turning page after page. Like biting my nails wanting to know but being afraid at the same time. It had a good balance of excitement and action without getting too intense.
It was the perfect length as I was able to read it in one evening. The story line was like an Outbreak whodunit kind of mystery. Murder but nothing gory. I really didn’t see where things were heading so I liked the novelty of being surprised. It was a clean story with some chemistry between the main characters leading to a nice happy ending.
All the supporting characters had back stories from appearing in other books in this series but since this is the first one I’ve read I didn’t know anything about their pasts. However starting in the middle of the series I didn’t feel lost or that I had missed anything. I will be checking out more from this author and other books in the series.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is about melioidosis a virus let loose. Cara Hunter is living a double life, she is now running B&B in Fire Beach but she also works for the military on research of a virus. Cara has a co worker Steve who ends up dead and his work and samples of the virus are gone along with her laptop of work from the B&B. She needs to work on a vaccine asap. I will let you read for your self what happens with the virus from here. This book is inspirational and very timely, just when we need hope in our times- one of the main themes is: trust that the doctors will do everything they can and whatever they can't God will cover and also God is in control. We can pray for the best outcome and trust He knows best. There might even be a love story in the midst of the virus. God can bring people together to find healing. I am so glad to be back in Fire Beach!

What a great, romantic suspense story full of scary, heart pounding mystery, a deadly virus, romance, and wonderful characters set in Fire Beach. This is my favorite Lorana Hoopes series. I really enjoyed trying to solve the mystery with all of its twists and turns and a few dead ends. It was also scary to imagine a virus could be let go intentionally into the air, water or ground.
Cara and Cole were two scarred souls trying to overcome and heal from their pasts when they met. I liked that they both may have a second chance at love. I really liked that this book was a page turner and I could not stop reading it until I read the last page and checked out to see if there was a future book in this series. Although the author wrote this book before the current situation in the world, this story is timely! Cara lives in Fire Beach and runs the B&B there by day but really she works for the military trying to find a cure/vaccine for a deadly virus that could be released. Sound familiar to today's headlines? Aren't we looking for a vaccine/cure today? This one will have you on the edge of your seat rooting for Cara as she tries to find out who killed her partner and who is after her! Cole is an investigator and at first, he thought Cara might have killer her partner but soon realizes he's wrong and steps up to help her track down who is after her, along with all Cara's friends in Fire Beach! Can they stop the madman who could care less about people dying? Read it and find out!!!!

A wonderful story full of suspense, intrigue, secrets, faith, hope and love. Cara who is undercover from the military looking for a vaccine for a virus runs a bed and breakfast in Fire Beach. Criminal investigator, Cole Davenport, come to the B& B investigating the murder of her coworker who was collaborating on the virus with Cara. All his research and test mice as well as the virus itself is gone. Read this fascinating story to find out who the mastermind is behind the theft of the virus, research and what they plan to do with it by the amazing author Lorana Hoopes. I highly recommend this as well as the other stories in the Fire Beach series.

I loved this romantic suspense story! Lorana has done it again with a virus on the loose, murder, and a detective around every corner. What more could I ask for except a little bit of love? Yes, that’s in there too.

Do you enjoy edge of your seat? Accelerated heart rate? Dodging the bullet? High action and suspense? This book has it all! Lorena Hoopes masterfully weaves together thriller action and a little romance. Cara and her co worker, Steve, are working on finding a cure for a deadly virus. When Steve is killed, only Cara's prints are found on his doorknob. Cole is sent to investigate Cara. Is she a killer or victim? Can they stop a killer before the virus infects many? Can romance happen amidst it all? Find out in this fantastic story! I highly recommend it! Happy Reading!

This thrilling read immediately captivated me and had me on the edge of my seat with suspense and a deadly virus spreading thru Fire Beach I was turning the pages as fast as I could to see what was going to happen! What a ride! Enjoyed getting to know Cara and meeting Cole. Love visiting Fire Beach, there's always something going on. I read this in a 24 hour period, because I had to see who was poisoning the town. I was on the edge of my seat all through the book. If you like clean stories full of danger and intrigue, I highly recommend 'Secrets and Suspense'.

Working in a Bed and Breakfast, undercover for the military, could be quite interesting as Cara found out.
When her co-worker is murdered and his files and various other things are missing, Cara tries to investigate the reasoning behind it. Little did she know that she would be the next person in line….for what, you ask???
Read the book! It will keep you interested from page one. I read this in one sitting.

Once you start reading Secrets and Suspense you will not be able to put it down! This book has likeable characters in a relatively small town possibly threatened with release of a deadly virus. The action never stops in this fast paced mystery. Can Cara find a vaccine or treatment for the virus in time? Has it been unleashed in Fire Beach? Who is behind this? Everything is wrapped up in a very satisfying conclusion.

Cara is not who she seems, and her secret research into a virus that could be used in biological warfare is stolen. Lots of intrigue and mystery, some of the science is a stretch to believe but I really liked the well written and likeable characters (especially Cole the criminal investigator investigating the death of Cara's colleague) and the rush to find out who was behind everything before more people died kept your attention. I received an ARC but this review is my own.

This is quite the wild ride of a mystery. I loved learning about Cara's background in the military & what she does now. Then there is a new character, Cole. This is a wonderful book; full of suspense, twists and turns, and some romance without getting too mushy. The characters are wonderful and the mystery is a mystery to the end. Inspirational as Cole seeks God's direction and encourages Cara in her walk with God as well. This is a real page turner! Can't wait to read the next one!

I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. I enjoyed reading this latest book in Lorana Hoopes series The Men of Fire Beach. The story line in this one is unique and really holds your interest with the intrigue included in it. The characters are believable and their problems are real which adds to the book.

A deadly virus deliberately turned loose on the public, an undercover researcher, a suspicious policeman, what more could you want? Lorana Hoopes manages to mix all this with a budding romance. This story is a great addition to the series.

A secret kept from friends until....then Cara is a suspect for murder, then the blame game. Bring on Cole, now the action intensifies, with help from McKenna, Jordan, Bubba and Nick. Nothing lagging here, page turner, action and a little bit of romance.

I really enjoyed this story.
I really enjoyed this story. There was plenty of suspense and mystery and some sweet, clean romance. I just wish the ending didn't feel so rushed and then a sudden cliffhanger.

I've read all the Fire Beach series and have truly enjoyed them all. Just the right amount of suspense and romance. The characters have been such a pleasure getting to know them. Anxiously awaiting the next one.

okay, but could be imroved
While the basic premise is good, the medical/vaccine jargon needs work. It takes years to develop and test test a vaccine and you certainly don't "find" it. Stick to finding a treatment and it will make more sense.

Great mystery/thriller with a side of romance!! This was engaging throughout with a lot of great characters! This is a book that could be enjoyed by everyone. Even my husband and sons would enjoy this one!! I highly recommend it!
