Rate this book
Chloe Gibson's dating the man of her dreams-a talented and gorgeous K-drama star. But there's just one catch: they have to keep their relationship secret. This isn't the ideal romance Chloe used to fantasise about.

Fortunately, there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon. The couple have an agreement that after one year of dating in secret, they'll front up to the South Korean media and go public with their relationship.

But the year won't be smooth sailing.

When a mysterious package shows up, Chloe's life is thrust into chaos. Soon she's being plagued by creepy anonymous messages and the unsettling feeling she's being followed.

The question is no longer whether the relationship will survive, it's will Chloe survive?

The second book to the practice kiss. Chloe has to keep a secret for the world.
No friend or Family can know. She is dating Shin Jinseung. Well he takes a acting role in a nother city he has a drop-dead gorgeous costar. Chole cant help being Jealous. When she starts getting sasaeng fan(obsessed fan) messages who can it be? Who can possibly know she is dating Jinseung? Can the relationship get through the year? This book was just as Swoon-worthy as the first one. You will never believe who is sending the messages 😱! With a hit of mystery in the mix of a Romance is everything you can ask for!!

I really appreciate the insight into Korean life that this series gives me, but I think this book was a bit silly following on from book 1. It's realistic I suppose, that someone dating a Korean celebrity would be in more danger than many, so I didn't have an issue with the storyline. I guess Chloe's gullibility was what exasperated me at times.

Anyway, I was suspecting everybody as I went along, but as it turns out I guessed the identity of the "bad guy" at about 7% of the book read (maybe even a little bit sooner). Not that I didn't second-guess myself along the way - if you check out my Kindle notes you'll see that I was suspecting everybody with a few exceptions.

The bit that made me roll my eyes most of all was when Chloe decided that Jinseung was guilty of neglecting her and so it was kind of his fault that she'd gone through what she did. I thought she was being ridiculous and unfair (not that one should expect traumatised people to always be rational, I suppose).

I also felt like the romance aspect of the story

Anyway, those are my thoughts and that's it for my review!

3/5 stars!

“When I met him in person at a fan meeting, I became addicted to seeing him in real life. It started after that.”

This book contains: sasaeng fans, threats, surprise trips, flower bouquets, private lessons, Korean food, PTSD, and a lot of scary situations.

It was okay? I think I prefer the first book a little better if I’m being honest.
In this book, we follow Chloe once again, but this time she is dealing with a different struggle. We know from the last book that they started dating but decided to keep it a secret from the public since he’s a well-known actor. In this book, the story continues with Jinseung leaving for Jeju island to film another drama (and is gone for most of the book) and leaves Chloe to deal with a crazy sasaeng alone. It was a little nerve-racking to see her getting threats and being stalked because I’m sure fans do crazy things to idols’ family and friends in real life, so in that aspect, it felt real - but other than that, the story felt a little silly to me.
I thought this would be another romance book, but it was more of a thriller with almost no romance, so I was a little disappointed. Sure, this still gives K-drama vibes as a thriller, but I think the theme changed a lot compared to the first book and that is something the reader is probably not expecting. With the first book we get a cute love story – which, if I’m being honest, is the only reason why I even decided to read this series in the first place -, but in the second book, things get way darker.
And I have to mention the “big plot twist”. There was a plot twist in the story that was very obvious and you see it coming very soon in the book - not sure if the author meant for it to be this obvious, but it was. I was hoping I was wrong and that the tables would turn at the end, but that didn’t happen. I wanted to be surprised!
I still liked it for what it was and it was entertaining - but like I said, I was hoping this would be more focused on the love story! I’ve already read the synopsis for the third book in the series, and I decided I probably won’t pick it up.

This book is the sequel to “The Practice Kiss” so it follows Chloe and Jinseung after they are officially together but are trying to keep it a secret from the general public. Chloe starts receiving threatening messages saying horrible things will happen to her if she doesn’t break up with Jinseung. With everything going on Chloe has to decide whether to fight for this relationship or let it go.

I definitely liked the first one better. It was cuter and gave me Kdrama vibes which is what really got me to these books in the first place. While this one definitely had a more exciting thriller plot I was disappointed by the ending. Keeping it spoiler free I really thought the person behind everything was going to be someone a little less predictable which would have definitely pushed this into the 4 star range. I know I read these books for the predictability factor but I would have liked to have a little more surprise.

The romance was cute and the characters were fun. If you enjoyed the first book definitely give this one a read but overall it was not everything I hoped it would be.

Content: some language, innuendo, there is some sexual scenes like the main girl takes off her shirt over zoom in front of her boyfriend (no bra) and there is a sex scene that is pretty descriptive.

I really enjoyed this book. Chloe and Jinseung’s love story continues, but they choose to keep it a secret due do his raising stardom popularity. We see the toll secrecy can take on a relationship, mixed with tention from a long distance relationship when Jinseung takes a role that causes him to have to relocate for the film.

The book takes on a triller/suspense plot when a sasaeng fan targets Chloe and begins to stalk and threaten her. The plot twist is predictable but still enjoyable.

I was really happy to see a good representation of getting help with therapy in the book. Chloe suffers from a dramatic event which takes a toll on her mental. In the book, we can see Chloe have several therapy sessions, which helps her come to terms and cope with the trauma she faced.

Then we get a happily ever after with Chloe and Jinseung choosing to stay together and ultimately decided to go public with their relationship. I can’t wait to see you how this decision affects their relationship in the next novel.

Quick read, but I enjoyed the first book better. A little more dull and less character development in this one, even though the plot takes a more suspenseful (though VERY predictable) turn. I ended up disliking both the main characters, especially Shin Jinseung and how his personality in their relationship developed. Yeesh. Definitely followed the typical kdrama storyline and idol traits, just maybe a little over the top and overdone.

•The unexpected pressures and heartache of a long distance relationship.

• A shocking betrayal Chloe never saw coming. ( It was pretty obvious from a reader's pov though)

•A traumatic experience that won't be easy to recover from fully if ever.

•Yet, in the end, love triumphed all. ❤️

Jinsueng ain't worth all this. I'm sorry lol.
You're telling me that he basically got to ignore her all the time except for when convenient for him, she gets kidnapped by his deranged fan and yet he has nothing of value to say to her except that he'd understand if she broke up with him.. girl this man ain't worth it

Decent. Enjoyed first book more. The sasaeng was a little predictable, which made Chloe seem a little too naive. Was hoping she got a little more fleshed out with hobbies or interests aside from translating (which is obvious since she goes on to teach). Otherwise good.

After reading the first book it was hard to not get attached to the characters so I just had to read the second. It was a fun and easy read, you could predict most of what was going to happen next but I was still excited to turn the page. Overall, a cute fun kdrama style plot.
