Fake an engagement they said. It’ll be easy they said...

Well, let me just tell you - faking anything when it comes to the Ontario brothers is nearly impossible. My name’s Audrey Littleton, quiet bookstore owner, who tends to leave the house only for groceries and girls’ night with my three besties. Everything in Sugar Bush, Colorado was going as it always did. At least until Jayden Ontario came tumbling into my shop with quite an… odd request.

Pretend to be engaged to him or one of his two brothers.

The issue? They’re not only the CEOs of a multimillion dollar company in the next city over, they’re also triplets. Somehow though, I’m roped into their plans, but when we start to gain some unwanted attention, our secret may not stay that way despite our best efforts. Will we be able to get away with their plan or will it all come crumbling down around us, taking their company and reputations with it?

Book 1 of the Besties & Booze shared universe

The Besties & Booze Series is a WhyChoose/Reverse Harem shared universe meaning the female main character in the story doesn't have to choose between her love interests. Each book ends in a HEA and can be read separately, but it is recommended to read in order.

Uhhh. This pains me to do, but I did not enjoy this story. I love the author and thought that the premise was cute. Standalone romcom RH with billionaire CEO triplets and bookish, small town heroine. I was in the mood for low-drama, insta-love ... sounded perfect.

The h, Audrey, is the bookish "nerd" (what her besties call her) with carefree spirit who gets socially awkward and sometimes lets her upbringing hold herself back, though with the support of her three besties and Nana she finds the courage to stay true to herself and take risks. I liked how low drama she was and how she was determined to follow the beat of her own drum. But she came across surprisingly juvenile at times, which I didn't care for - surprising because she's in her late 20s and owns her own business and seems relatively down-to-earth. She has to be coaxed into conversations that she feels the slightest bit awkward or nervous about, and it felt weird. And she flips between "I can't explain our quick love story but I'm not going to question this love" to "oh, they can't possibly want me now" 🙄🙇‍♀️ Fortunately no dragged out drama, but it's always another character coaxing her back. And idk, I guess they find her adorable instead of annoying.

They fall in love hard and fast, definitely insta-love, which for standalone romcom I was expecting. But it didn't feel like whirlwind romance with deep emotional connection or scorching chemistry. It just felt like cute and awkward but confident in their feelings being "real" first date courting. I never felt the chemistry between the characters 😔

The Hs were... fine? I liked that they were older, mature, and knew what they wanted out of life and out of a partner, and I did enjoy that they each had something different to them that distinguished from the other Hs and also painted that "perfect match" with the h. Overall, I liked them just fine, but despite multi-POV, I never connected with any of them 🤷‍♀️

I was really thrown off by how unrealistic the whole fake engagement business arrangement was handled. I was expecting a contract, NDAs to cover her not talking to the press and to cover any information she may come across about their business, and at least a background check. But nope. They're successful business men and we hear some crazy stories about women (and stalkers) they've dealt with. But, nope. Just going with their gut, I guess. Not even Jack went beyond a Google search of her name 🙄

Did I download a quote of the day app immediately after reading this?
Yes, yes I did.
Am I going to take advice from said quotes every day?
Yes, Yes I will
Will this bring 3 hot billionaires to my doorstep to ask me to be in a fake engagement with them in the hopes of saving their company, but after spending enough time with me they realize I'm just who they're looking for in a real partner and fall in love with me while I'm falling in love with them and this becomes the beginning of a reverse harem happily ever after story?
No, probably not. But wouldn't that be hilarious?!?!

Also am I not allowed in the secret 4some club? Because this is the 3rd book that I've been teased like this just to have it not be written in at all!!! What the heck?! Steamy scenes, yes, but who do I have to beg and bribe to get that juicy dance floor scene?

A sweet, charming and sexy book about a single bookshop owner Audrey (FMC aka Drey) who is unlucky in love but a chance meeting brings an unusual proposition. One that spins her whole life around and brings 3 hot triplets - Jaime, Jayden and Jack into her life. I really loved the relationship between Drey and the guys. It was really nice to read the tentative start with all of the characters slowly build up. Audrey was shy and lacking confidence whilst the guys more so with Jack had their own misgivings and worries. So building their relationship gradually especially sexually was refreshing endearing to read. I really liked all the characters and the story. A good read and i cant wait for Delaney's book now

“There’s a whole category of people who miss out by not allowing themselves to be weird enough."

An apt quote from Audrey's nana (who is old lady goals) that opens Audrey up to the possibility of having a relationship with 3 brothers.

This is a fun, sweet, light contemporary RH in a shared world with other RH authors. Each of the girls make appearances in this helping set the groundwork for their individual books. Audrey was instantly likeable and each of the guys charming in their own way. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the other girls books

Pure Fluff

I’d probably give this 3.5 ⭐️ if I could.

This book is light and frothy with very little drama. It’s pure entertainment and delightfully sweet.

Audrey owns a bookshop that used to belong to her Nana. She’s got great friends, loves her job and likes her life, but she’s a bit lonely. Cue handsome billionaire triplets who want her to be their fake fiancé within moments of meeting her. It’s completely improbably and silly and it’s still fun.

DNF'd at 89%.

Not sure how/why I made it that far. The writing's not bad, the book just lacks plot/substance. It's all scenes from their evolving relationship (also, that went a little too quick for believability, btw), with her not having a life outside of their romantic relationship and her relationship with her besties (who need more depth and sharing of their lives as well). She owns a bookstore - awesome! But then she just closes up for more than a month because of media attention. Uh, okay? Long vacations are nice, but long vacations hanging around alone in your boyfriends' mansion while they're at work don't lend much to write about. Hence just the romance all the time. And there's a point where she's reviewing her finances like a competent businesswoman and then she asks CEO boyfriends if they have any suggestions, and they're like "Sure! We'll ask our marketing people" and that's it, back to romance.

I picked this up because I threw it in my KU list after reading Whisper of Spirits (apparently I thought it was decent enough, but I didn't update Goodreads with a review, bad Ness). But looking through Goodreads, looks like I tried a few of her other ones and they all ended in DNF. So I'm going to pass on future books by this author.

Borrowed from Kindle Unlimited.

“There’s a whole category of people who miss out by not allowing themselves to be weird enough."

This quote is said by our MC's grandmother and it couldn't be more true! This book was non-stop fun and sweetness. A perfect read for when times are dark and you want to escape to another world. The Ontario brothers are looking for a fake fiance to help appease their companies board of directors and secure the current contacts. Audrey is a bookstore owner who is happy to stay at home and out of the limelight- well apart from her girls' nights' with her besties. Fate intervenes and throws the two groups together in one masterstroke of delight and whimsy. Will they be able to pull it off and what happens after?

This is the first book I have read from A.J. Macey and I do not believe it'll be the last! This book was really well written, it flowed really nicely and didn't have any glaring plot holes that I could detect. The descriptions are fantastic and you can really see things as they are described. Audrey is super-relatable and you really just latch on to her, and the Ontario brothers....oof!!! Such spectacular character-building and a fantastic storyline that keeps you turning pages and wanting more!!

A fantastic book that will lighten the mood and make you fall in love all over again!

Sweet and so fun!

This book was fun and sweet! I devoured it in a few hours and I can’t wait to see what happens with all the friends!

““Oooh, we got a three for one deal on aisle Audrey!” Del hollered, her voice pulled away from the phone as she shouted.”
— Faked (Besties & Booze Book 1) by A.J. Macey

I do love an interconnected world. This series by 4 different authors is off to a great start.
Audrey is so sweet and the guys are, well, they’re book boyfriends, so they’re perfect.
I enjoyed the multiple POV here. It was nice to have each character’s voice!
I’ll definitely be continuing this series!

Great read

I really enjoyed this book, such a witty main character. Audrey is an unique bookshop owner who is herself, not showy, or pretentious, just simply Audrey.
I love her best friends, their story’s of crazy past girls nights were great.
Then there’s the Triplets, so different yet so the same. Billionaires each in their own rights, so of course they have had numerous gold diggers in the past.
I can’t forget Nanna, wish my Nanna was like Audrey’s - cracked me up.
Love the craziness of the storyline, the twists along the way and with such a great ending.
Overall a great book.

3.5 - this felt like reading an Emma Hart rom-com, except it was RH! I loved it! If you know me at all you know I am a long-time Hart lover but I haven't really been in the mood for fluffy M/F romances recently and had sort of been in withdrawals so this was perfect! I rated it so low because I was reading it while I wasn't feeling 100% so there are a lot of bits I didn't really process and I don't think it's the type of book I see myself re-reading despite how much I enjoyed it, so lower rating. But I highly recommend this!

As I thought

As I thought I loved this book! I was in a somewhat of a bookslump, the books where good but just didn't do it for me this one pulled me out and time flew by. I was reading instead of working and fell in love with Jack.. sorry I love them broody and cranky.

I loved how the story flowed, how we saw them fall in trust and then love. I love how she had my dream job and got her happy ending. If all the books in this series are half as good as the first one I am one happy girl. On to the next one.

I absolutely loved this book! It was one of those reads that kept a smile on my face and my heart happy. It gives hope and faith to people who find "insta-love" or fall for someone quickly, because it can/does happen!

I love the friend group that our main character, Audrey, has (especially hearing about all the shenanigans they've gotten up to)- I'm excited to read all their stories in the continuing books of this series!

Such a fun, light hearted story of a small town girl, Audrey, meeting and falling for the Ontario triplets who ask her to be their fake fiancé to save their billion dollar company. Some light drama and lots of sassy girlfriends made this an entertaining story. Love first person POV and switching which characters POV the chapter is- helps get a full picture and into the men’s heads to head their view. Would highly recommend.

I loved this book from start to finish. There’s not a character I didn’t enjoy getting to know and I so wish it wasn’t a stand alone because I can’t get enough of Audrey and her guys. From her besties to her nana Audrey has my dream life and let’s be honest- she’s my soul sister. I mean being awkward and uncomfortable being the center of attention is totally my thing and her obsession with books could rival mine. All in all A+ for A.J. Macey.

I loved this book so much. As an introduction to a new shared world, Faked gives a well written description of Sugar Bush and provides our first look into Audrey and her besties. I loved how Audrey took a chance and jumped into a "fake" relationship, leading to an awesome ending with three handsome triplets. I especially adored the relationships between Audrey and her girls. Can't wait to see more from these awesome characters!

Fake engagement to sexy brothers - yes please

A great fake engagement love story. Three sexy bachelor's In need of a woman to marry one of them fairly quickly in order to help them gain the renewal of their companies contracts. Audrey feeling a connection with the guys straight away jumps straight into it - why not? And the way these guys really end up caring and loving each other along the way through the fake engagement and marriage process was cute.

HOT DAMN!

What do you get when you take a coffee loving bookworm, toss in a set of sexy triplets, add a splash of rom com, plus 3 awesome best friends and a sassy grandmother? You get the newest story by AJ Macey, first book in a fun new series. When you need something outrageously cute to cheer you up, look no further than Faked. Warning... DO NOT drink hot coffee or wine while reading this, or it might just come out your nose every time you laugh at Audrey and her besties!

I don't read contemporary

I don't read contemporary romances but I decided to give this one a chance because I love the author's other non-comtemporary works (and only planned on reading hers). Wow, I was really surprised how much I loved this. It was great getring to know her, the guys and her besties. The author did such a good job that I need to read the other girls stories! Here's hoping the other authors do just as good of a job.

It was great

Tyne story was great unregulated the last few chapters. Suddenly the author slipped their celebration of contracts, and the resulting threesome. Then it gets a bit confusing bc Jack mentions her saying she loves them, but we don't see that until after and it seems like the first time.

Other than that the story was good. I liked that there was no relationship drama, just pure love.

A good light read, but was missing something.

I really liked Audrey’s attitude. I liked the Ontario brothers. There wasn’t a lot of conflict. It was actually a sweet story. The three sex scenes (1st time with each brother) were pretty hot for what they were, but... she tells her friends about how the four of them all had sex together, but we don’t see it. Just a quick mention. It wasn’t a bad story, just wish it was a little more.

No Spark-Scooby-Doo

I don’t like giving bad reviews, and I’m sure if I was an author, it’ll make me feel like upset. I didn’t feel a connection to the characters and I didn’t feel a connection between the characters either. That’s the extent of it. The only other note was the ending-I not only didn’t get a sense of danger from the emails, or from the possibility of the brothers losing their company. The Scooby-Doo reveal of the bad guy wasn’t worth mentioning. I’m sorry.

Fun rh

This was definitely a rom-com rh and was insta love. The characters were all a bit predictable. You have the one grouchy, but softy H, the goofy, funny H, and the norm H. As for the girlfriends to the h, you have the typical 'Samantha' overtly serial and funny, the 'Miranda's workaholic serious one, and the 'Charlotte ' the love champion. This was an ok story but nothing new or original.

cute quick love story

A 3.5 rounded up to 4.

This book is cute and sort of instalove. It’s definitely farfetched as far as perfect strangers just randomly asking the girl they had never met before that day to be a fake fiancé. But who really cares. The story is adorable and some parts made me laugh out loud! I liked the zero drama! Especially no OW drama. It is a great light hearted read and I recommend to anyone that just wants a fun, quick book to read!

This was a fun to read story, loved it. An entertaining and enjoyable story that grabbed my attention.

Audrey is an interesting character, sorta shy and nerdy who, with her 3 best friends and her Nana, ends up on an adventure, of sorts.

Without giving out spoilers this story is fantastic. A.J. Macey has once again written a fantastic book. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

Amazing

This was such a sweet book. Like from beginning to end it was sweet and cute. The guys (even Jack) are adorable and I love them. Honestly the premise was cute, and the storytelling was hilarious. If you want a cute, sweet (but still kind of hot), funny RH, this is the one. I highly recommend this series and I’m looking forward to the Delaney’s story!

Amazing

The Ontario triplets are needed a fake wife. Audrey is a shy book nerd who owns a book story. This story is cute and wonderful. I love the triplets and how each of them opened up and was able to fall in love. This is part of the Besties & Booze shared universe and can be read separately but is recommended to be read in order.

Perfect standalone....

This was just perfect! RH romcom standalone in a shared world with other RH authors. This just hit the spot. In a world of waiting on series to be released, these rapid release standalones are excellent to fill the gaps. And the Ontario triplets?! HOT! Can’t wait to start book 2! 💜

Wonderful story I was looking for something fluffy and fun, I was a bit surprised we missed out on their first time all together and it definitely shied away from the more physical moments of rh but the romance was still cute and I wasn't really looking for that in this book anyway. Nice relaxing easy read.

This book is a super cute Reverse Harem story. Audrey owns a small book store and is asked to become one of the Triplets fake wife so they can save their multi-million dollar company. When feelings for all 3 of the brothers arise, can they make it work? And when does fake become real? Definitely a great read! I look forward to reading about her besties in the other 3 books in the series!
